Look, I love Owlet customer service and the sock, but I absolutely despise the camera. It is incredibly unreliable. Now, after almost a year of messing with it, disconnection issues several times a week, and resetting it constantly, I can no longer get it connected. It’s just an endless cycle of “error oc01). Contacted customer service and they basically told me to wait for an app update that has no deadline. After spending so much money on this camera, you’d be expect it to work at least 1/2 of the time. I despise this thing. I resorted to buying a hardlined audio monitor because I couldn’t trust this thing.
Another grievance for when it does work: WHY on earth does the notice for low sock battery or reminders to wash the sock have to cover the entire screen? I leave my monitor open at night and the audio function cuts out when the notices pop up. Poor app design. Poor product. Unreliable.

This is quite literally the worst app I’ve ever used. OwletDream is supposed to be used to help me better protect my son but it works maybe 10% of the time. I have actually had this Owlet Camera for 2 years. I have loved this camera and it’s worked perfectly as a baby monitor because I can keep an eye on my son all night. However, in December 2021 they changed over from the original Owlet up to this new Owlet Dream app that is completely awful. I have so many issues with it. It never connects to the camera, it constantly loads, it constantly disconnects from the camera so I have to go the whole night without it and wait till the next day when I can re-sync. Half the time it loses connection to the camera in the middle of the night and it’s off for the whole night. Usually I don’t realize that it’s not working until it’s time to put my son to bed and then I’m trying to be on the phone with customer service, who can’t get it work either, while my son is tired and cranky and ready to go to bed and it’s terrible. I had no issues until it switched to this new app. Now I have to go to the actual camera and leave a review on there saying don’t waste your money on this because OwletDream is the only way to view what’s being displayed by this camera and OwletDream doesn’t work EVER!!!

I know they just came out with the new app but i preferred the old one. It’s our baby monitor but OwletDream frequently just forces closed so it makes me nervous while I’m sleeping that it’ll close and i won’t hear my baby right away. The camera feed has also been frozen a few times without me noticing because i thought my baby was just sleeping. Also i liked that on the old app when you put the camera feed full screen it would still show the heart rate which lets me know if my baby is starting to wake up and if he was in a deep sleep yet, this one doesn’t do that so you have to keep the camera feed small if you wanna see the heart rate. I really hope they update and fix the little bugs and i would really love the heart rate on the full screen camera feed! Also please get rid of the pop up notifications! I know when he’s sleeping peacefully or awake. But now i just have to get up and hit the button so i can see the monitor! That was just a poor design. Also it’s a sleep quality app but it doesn’t let you see what time it was when the baby wakes up like the old app? I’m sleep deprived and can’t remember how often or what time my baby woke up and really liked that on the old app.

The camera quality itself is great. The technical issues with OwletDream are HORRENDOUS. It constantly will not connect and tells the camera is offline and to fix my internet. I can use the same internet for literally anything else and it works great. We will even open OwletDream on another device and see it connected and working but will not connect on the other one. If it’s the same Wi-Fi and one device can connect and the other cannot, then it’s clearly not an issue with our Wi-Fi! Customer service will keep telling you it’s internet issues on your part and to restart your modem etc. I am so sick of deleting and redownloading OwletDream, restarting the cameras, etc. We have another baby on the way and we will be buying a more reliable monitor for that baby and getting a new one for our current baby!

I would absolutely give OwletDream zero stars if I could. We have had nothing but issues with the entire owner system since we spent the hundreds of dollars purchasing it. I absolutely thought I was doing one of the best things I could as a parent by investing in this system, but the problem is that it basically never works. We tried and tried for months to get the sock to work, but eventually just gave up because 95% of the time it would say my son was wiggling when he was most definitely passed out and not moving at all. The camera system is garbage, honestly. The sound cuts out constantly and probably three to four times week, I have to unplug and replug the camera back in to get it to work. The hardware is terrible, but the software in OwletDream is by far the worst. It crashes all of the time, the sound cuts out more often than not, and like right now, the video display wont even work. No matter how many times we troubleshoot, it’s just a mess. I am so extremely disappointed that we ever purchased the owlet system.

I want to first say that thank goodness I had downloaded the old app before it was removed because if not for that we would have already thrown the camera away. We love the dream sock and being able to see her heart beat and see her sleep patterns but the new app CRASHES non stop when left on overnight. We moved our daughter into her crib at 7 weeks and the first night we both left our apps up with volume turned up so we could hear our daughter. My iPhone 13 Pro Max and my wife’s iPhone 12 Pro both had OwletDream crash every 30-60 minutes. All night, like clockwork. How is someone suppose to sleep at ease when they can’t monitor their child with an app meant for monitoring their child??? Why is your new app crashing when your old app never crashes? Thank goodness I thought to try the old app for monitoring the camera and the audio, it never crashes. FIX THIS PLEASE, for the sake of everyone that can’t get the old app. You’re killing your company with this terrible app.

Does this team has PM or QA or UX? This is so ridiculous. I can’t even figure out how to create the defects!
My husband and I share the account. But why, how could the sock only shows in his phone? I can only see the camera. Then I asked him to remove the sock and register from my phone. Ok it works for me now but his app crashed. Had to reinstall.
Why the sleeping status bar can only be refreshed in history tab? Not from home page or even not from current sleep session? I had to refresh there and tab back to home and wait everything to load again.
I want to be able to swipe on the bar so that I can see the status for specific time.
I switched off the base station through app, because it kept alarming and I didn’t have another hand to fix the sock as my son was kicking crazy. oh boy how do I get it back now? It shows me connecting forever! I even reinstalled OwletDream and it still the same! I’m sure it’s connected, as my husband’s phone works fine!

Wish I could give some positive feedback towards this camera but after a few months of doing it’s job, we started to notice small defects. 1.) Microphone works maybe 20% of the time (been that way since we first started using it). But we didn’t really need this function as our son was just 6 months old so we pressed on. 2.) The camera has a good 3-5 second lag. On this one we contacted customer service. They blamed our wifi and asked us to delete OwletDream and redownload. We did this and nothing changed. 3.) The BIGGEST concern - video goes down almost EVERY other night. Customer service has asked us to do everything from unplugging the camera to signing out of OwletDream and logging in through another device. Nothing works. No solution. Really disappointed with this product and the lack of service.

If I could give zero stars, i would. I have never left a bad review in my life until now. This company is just horrible. The camera ALWAYS has issues and every time I called I was told it was my wifi. Ive NEVER had issues with my wifi but I still called my internet provider and did what owlet insisted I do. Same problem a few days later. I finally got a supervisor on the phone after calling every other day for 2 weeks and she said the same thing..my wifi! Well now I come on here and look at the terrible rating they have and all of the reviews of people with the SAME EXACT issue. It's never been about my Internet connection. These cameras are defective. I'm now also having an issue where it won't stay on night vision. Sometimes it'll just go back and forth. But now my warranty is expired so I'm sure if I call back they will just tell me oh well. I will never use owlet products again and I will tell every new mother I know how horrible their products and customer service are. Save your money and get anything but an owlet. Sincerely Not a happy customer Update *** Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.. it's just switching from day to night vision over and over again and will not stop. I've tried unplugging, repairing 100 + times. SO DONE WITH THIS TERRIBLE PRODUCT FROM A HORRENDOUS COMPANY. Will be purchasing a new monitor from a different company and throwing this piece of crap in the garbage since this company won't make it right.

Do you like following the crowd? Do you like buying “cool” gadgets that all your other friends have bought for watching over your babies? Do you love wasting money!? Then the Owlet camera is your ticket!! Not only do you buy two cameras for your two little ones, but you get to pay pretty good money for them ti stare at a blank black screen! These cameras we OK to say the least in the very beginning. But now even after restarting my phone, unplugging and then plugging in the cameras, restarting our WiFi……every little trick and being completely up to date on OwletDream . I still can not see either of my children!!! It’s aggravating much more than you could imagine! I don’t want to wake them by checking on them when the door is closed but that was the point of the cameras. Pretty sure I’ll be spending more money in some Ring cameras for their rooms now instead. At least they’ve been reliable since we bought them for the security on our home!

The camera is challenging to pair with OwletDream , and as noted with other reviews seems to be a reoccurring problem. After more than two dozen attempts to connect the camera I contacted support and had a good experience with phone support. She guided me through a few steps to verify that I tried all methods to connect the camera. Got to the last step where she instructed me to unplug the camera for a matter of minutes and suggested if the camera did not connect, after the completion of the final step to contact support once again. Fast forward to attempting to connect the camera another two dozen times without success I reached out to chat support where I was asked a few questions that were simple to phone support and were left with the advice to keep trying.

In my opinion this proves that the company does not care about the support of there devices and the poor support confirms this.

I didn’t want to leave a bad review but it has been made very difficult to reach out to any support for this product. Hopefully they review these to make improvements so corrections and concerns can be addressed.
I have had the Owlet Cam *only* for about two years. I love the thought of the whole system but with the reviews and my own experience with the camera, I was never able to bring myself to spend this much money one a product that is not consistent.
The biggest issue here is that no matter how great your internet connection is, the camera constantly disconnects and errors “Owlet cam offline”. This could happen directly after receiving signal and video feedback. Sometimes restarting the application corrects the issue but more often than not I have to go reset the entire camera. No matter how much you keep up on it, the connection is NOT STABLE. Not ideal at all when you are trying to keep an eye on your sleeping child or trying to make sure they stay safe while falling asleep.
Note that all updates that show up for our camera to receive are instantly applied.
I WANT this to work. I love it when it works! I wish there was more open communication with the support for this product instead of all of us having to come and give the product a bad review to hopefully be heard so issues can be corrected or we have simply given up. I would love for this to be corrected so I can change this review.

Like most others who left a review, I hate the camera! We have way too many issues with it and it is completely unreliable. When we call customer service they tell me it’s my wifi but everything else works just fine with my wifi. From reading other reviews this seems to be customer service’s go to explanation. We will definitely be buying a different monitor for our second who is on their way. I do love the sock though and still recommend it to every new mom I know. Even if OwletDream is having issues the base will still notify you if any readings are off. It always seemed to be fairly accurate when my guy was real little. I always say, for a company who was able to create such a smart sock, it’s surprising their camera is so worthless.

The camera and the software hardly work. You have to create an online account and share your login credentials with others if they need it. There’s no way to kick other users off if they’re already signed in on their phone. (This is annoying since we have multiple caregivers in and out of the home.). The audio almost never works on the camera either.

I received the duo as part of my registry before learning how bad the camera is. Our baby is 12 weeks and has had multiple colds and contracted COVID. The sock was giving me peace of mind, however, I am now questioning its accuracy. I also cannot get it to sync with the new app and have been forced into using the old app. (Which can no longer be downloaded for the other care givers. Rendering the sock useless for anyone but me.)

Definitely just spend the money to get a legitimate baby monitor and oxygen sat clip. It’ll save you hours worth of stress and head ache.

Let me start off by saying we LOVE the sock. 6/5 stars on the sock. It is amazing and we have had very few problems with it. The camera on the other hand is about as worthless as they come. We have had THREE. We have had nothing but issues since day one, and when all of their technical troubleshooting wouldn’t work they would send another camera which was just as worthless as the last. We are about to have another baby and are going to keep the owlet base station and sock, but will be purchasing a separate camera from another company who is more reliable and has a better product. Please take my word on this, nothing adds to anxiety and stress more than camera issues all day everyday, especially when you NEED to see your baby. Please do not waste your money on these terrible cameras. Do buy the sock! Do NOT buy the camera.

I was very excited when I got the sock and cameras for my son. But unfortunately I have had issue’s, mostly with the camera. The camera is ALWAYS “going offline”. There are so many times the camera is not working and if I restart OwletDream , unplug and restart the camera it still will not work. Unfortunately, I had to get another camera set up in his room because of how often the camera( not an owlet, different brand completely) is going offline. When I have my baby in his room, I expect the equipment to work properly so that I can check up on him whenever, not only sometimes when the equipment decides to work. Also, I don’t think a camera that constantly can’t load is worth $200.

I bought this camera about 2 years ago on mother day of 2020 bundle with the sock for 400$ so basically bought the camera for 200$ not worth the money what’s so ever like I was suprised u can’t listen to the audio off OwletDream it says u can but it doesn’t work also it buffers none stop takes forever to load takes long enough to load for something to go wrong and I missed it and it flinches I’ve used it for the last two years and some nights it worked great over the past couple months it’s gotten worse it will just loose connection for no reason or take forever for the screen to pop up at all and also read room temperature but im not sure if it’s accurate ut the dock was amazing I loved the sock my baby didn’t have any health issues I used to from fright of SIDS but he never had a bad night the sick did great if it slipped off it alarmed us or low battery overall the camera is just awlful your better off getting one with a portable screen

After coming here and seeing I’m not the only with this issue it makes me feel a little more upset that owlet company hasn’t done anything about this issue yet or sent out some kind of partial reimbursements for the constant trouble. Don’t get me wrong, the sock is AMAZING and I highly recommend it, BUT the camera is great when it’s working but more often then not it says owlet cam offline yet my internet speeds are around 147 mbps so that’s not the issue. If you do end up getting someone from customer service or technical support they just give you the run around without actually fixing the issue. They’ll tell you to update your phone iOS or refreshing OwletDream and then in the end they just have you reset the camera, which doesn’t always work either. Only reason I gave this 2 stars is because I do love the sock but they REALLY need to get this camera issue fixed because for what they charge for it you’d expect it to be working a lot better…

This camera should be removed from the market. Why? It doesn’t do what it is supposed to do. Monitor your baby. Take it off the market seems too dramatic? No. SIDS is what we are all afraid of and purchase these things for anyway and OwletDream just stops working. No alerts. No sound. Whenever it feels like it! Now if it worked reliably that would be different. Please take this off the market or fix your app to work with the camera. I cannot recommend people stay away from this enough. I would give it zero stars but when it does work the features are nice. Fix it owlet for other people bc you definitely have lots my business and confidence. Had to purchase another monitor to make sure my baby is safe. Waste of money.

The set up for the camera and sock was easy and quick. I have had none of the issues the other reviewers have had. My camera has not failed or had connection issues at all. I’m thinking the other reviewers had issues with their Wi-Fi setups and/or user error that effected the camera connection but I’m not them and can’t vouch for their experience. I can say the only issue I have experienced has been a lag in loading on OwletDream and that has been all. The lag is maybe a minute or two and it depends on how many devices are logged in and using the Wi-Fi internet connection at that time. After that, I love the owlet setup so far. I will return and update my review if I have any issues after this.
