It is a bit of a hassle to:
1) open ViaLynkEVCharging
2) plug in the car
3) find the station site
4) select the charging station
5) wait for the charge to begin

This all takes about 1-2 minutes if ViaLynkEVCharging correctly located the station. ViaLynkEVCharging just said I was almost a mile away from the station I used.

A ChargePoint station allows you to:
1) remotely connect your phone to unlock the charging station.
2) plug-in and charge the car.

The ChargePoint system takes about 10-15 seconds.

If I were installing stations at my business I would not use the Livingston Charge system unless they offer a remote connect option like ChargePoint. The Livingston system feels clunky, slow, and just leaves the user feeling a bit frustrated to have to go through all the steps.

I could give the system a few more stars, because it does do the job to charge the car. But in this day and age, these systems should be operating in a streamlined fashion to seamlessly connect with our phones.

The Livingston system just feels like a system being adopted by a second rate operator or something out of the Dilbert cartoon where more bureaucratic steps are put in place to slow down a process that should be so simple.

People don’t want to download an app for every small time charging system. This system is living in the past. License some wireless tech that uses digital wallets. Paying should be as fluid as NYC subway. Way your phone and hit a button.

This kinda crap is a major friction point for people. If the NYC subway can do it everyone can. Get at it.

And ViaLynkEVCharging is bad.

If you are using ViaLynkEVCharging , make sure your phone is far enough away from the kiosk that the Apple wallet does not come up otherwise it will not start a charge as you need to pay through ViaLynkEVCharging .

I’ve tried countless times to add payment method…. Used various cards and still get a please try again message. Called support only thing they can offer is to delete app and try again. Deleted and reinstalled at least 10 times still not working!!!! Beyond frustrating!!!

10min stuck in ViaLynkEVCharging for a station to finally “timeout” and let me change my location. Customer Service didn’t answer in that entire timeframe. AND I had to pull decently hard, much harder than I’d expect as a Fit 44 year old male, to get the power cord to extend far enough to actually connect to my vehicle.

I have never in my life had a more exasperating experience with an app. It works about 35% of the time. The support people are wonderful. Except that they keep telling me that the problem is my fault. ViaLynkEVCharging doesn’t work. I have filed more than 20 (tickets) complaints with them. Tonight I spent 3.5 hours trying to get my car to charge. They tell me now that it’s charging. But ViaLynkEVCharging says it’s not. They charging stations are installed where I park my car. So I have no recourse. I would fire this company in a second. But I’m stuck with them. NEVER ado business with them!!!

ViaLynkEVCharging was apparently updated recently- but the new version does not seem to be available in ViaLynkEVCharging Store. I have deleted and reinstalled ViaLynkEVCharging half a dozen times over the past few weeks. Every time I open it, I get the message that it needs to be updated. When I ignore that and keep moving forward, I get a message that the phone cannot connect to the internet - even when I’m at home and connected to my network (like now). I’d love to be able to get ViaLynkEVCharging to work to expand my charging options - fingers crossed that they sort out the problem!!

The keyboard covers the button when you enter your credit card and it’s almost impossible to get to the next screen. Just let us use a credit card instead of making us download an app so you can harvest my data

I’m a new user of this charging service. ViaLynkEVCharging installed easily and I setup my account with no problems. Today I connected to the charging station and entered ViaLynkEVCharging to begin charging. I got to the point of selecting the charging unit to which I am connected but then couldn’t figure out how to proceed. I called tech support and was on hold for 10 minutes before being switched to voicemail where I left a message. All the while I was fiddling with ViaLynkEVCharging and eventually pressed the magic button and got the charger switched on. I’m not certain just what I did to accomplish that. There needs to be an instruction how to proceed after selecting the appropriate charging device.
So I got a message that charging is in progress. Hope all continues well from here!

ViaLynkEVCharging couldn’t find my charging station, which was close to other groups of stations. It did eventually find the proper one. After the third try

ViaLynkEVCharging functions well for identifying chargers and for providing funds to charge your vehicle. I’m very happy with these seamless features.
However, app updates sign you out of ViaLynkEVCharging , hence you must remember (or have stored somewhere) your lengthy password.
I understand that signing in after an update is likely an extra added security feature; however fumbling around in 20 degree weather trying to locate and/or remember the password or trying to obtain a new password is not my idea of functionality.
Many of my apps update and do not sign out with each update. These include apps that retain financial information.

First charge was delayed I needed a phone call to rectify the problem. Next charge had a very good connection immediately.

I just downloaded and used ViaLynkEVCharging for a fast charge in Brattleboro VT, and it worked well. Above average sign up experience, and I was happy to know that I did nor need to pre-pay before charging. In-app FAQ is very clear. Good work developers!

What a difference between ViaLynkEVCharging and its prior version.
When I arrived at a station and pulled up ViaLynkEVCharging the location I was standing in front of was immediately available to tap. The stations interface was clean and simple to understand.
I was able to go from parked to charging in less then 30 seconds.

Great job!
Suggestion: Add Wallet support, that would cut the time from 30 seconds to 10.

Not super fast, but once you have ViaLynkEVCharging it’s easy and since I’m stopped for the night it ok if it takes awhile to charge.

Took a while to get set up but now that I am set up, charging works like a charm. Customer service is first rate.
