KT Connect Reviews

KTConnect is useless. It is not user friendly, it does not send notifications even when button is on to allow notifications. (Setting notifications on phone are set to on). KTConnect is difficult to follow and navigate. Overall I would not recommend, my daycare just switched to it and it was the biggest mistake! Worst app I have seen in a long time.

This is much worse than previous Kangarootime app. User interface is ugly, and image gallery is very very bad. After images are accumulated enough( I guess about 50 images there), app crashed every time I tried to load new image. KTConnect should not be released without extensive testing and debugging.

KTConnect is very basic, I can’t zoom the pictures, if the text added in the gallery is long you can’t read it inside the pictures, the notifications are terrible, I want to know when something about my daughter happens and it is impossible

Honestly don’t understand how this is considered an upgrade from the Kangaroo Parent app. Crashes CONSTANTLY! I have to re-log in almost every time I open KTConnect . I’m unable to download my kids photos because every time it tries to load the photos KTConnect crashes. The activity log is always out of order - particularly naps. Just altogether not good! Please fix!

Very buggy. Lots of features do not work. Cannot turn off autopay. PDF download fails. Payment history comes up as blank. You cannot remove CC as a payment method once it is added, you can only add new CC.
For some reason you can change between regions but only US and AU why it is exactly a feature I dunno. But if you attempt to do that, app crashes and you can’t get back in. You will have to reinstall it. Awesome! Very useful.

But I think “best” feature is “unlock doors”. I guess, KTConnect does not just let you pay your child’s tuition - it will open “doors for you” - how great is that!

Not sure why our child care center forces parents to use it.

Kangarootime is a fine app with only a few missing features such as logging previous nights sleep and when your child woke, or push notifications for certain things. KT Connect feels like the beta version of a lite free trial version. Here’s all the features so far that are noticeably gone/worse than the original version: - No health screening - No way to mark child absence - No mobile check in - No logging of last bottle/last diaper - No check in/out times listed in activities - No daily summaries - No web version - No ability to message center or teachers??!! - No calendar - No longer has Photos in daily activities feed, so no way to see if a photo has been uploaded without checking the gallery - No time stamps on photos Photos are in reverse order so you have to scroll to the bottom to find new ones - No ability to change parent photo - No ability to change child photo - Activities log out of order Duplicates (I.e. shows 6 bottles logged of 4)

No ability to mark child absent, no ability to add my husband, no ability to message a teacher?!? Our school is switching platforms entirely because they were tricked into switching to KTConnect from kangaroo time with false renderings, not ok

KTConnect is one of the worst I have used. My son’s daycare uses it and pushes through updates during the day. A couple days it has worked fine but 90% of the time I am only able to see maybe 1 of 10 things they put on the activity feed. I’m asking them to look into a new app or switch to just paper slip reports at the end of the day because KTConnect is garbage.

Our daycare recently switched from BrightWheel to KTConnect and it is such a disappointment. There is always a lag while things load. The picture quality is terrible when they post photos. Parents don’t receive notifications for activities posted through the day and the staff doesn’t get notified when parents send in messages. Lots of room for improvement to make it comparable to other daycare apps.

The KT Connect app is supposed to keep parents updated on their child’s daycare experience, but it completely misses the mark on one of the most important features: check-in and check-out notifications. Instead of receiving an alert when my child is dropped off or picked up, I have to log in and navigate through several screens just to find that information. This makes KTConnect frustrating and inconvenient to use, especially when quick updates should be a given. Until this feature is fixed, I can’t recommend it.

App crashes when trying to look at pictures. The pictures you have to scroll through all the previous days to get to the current day ones but KTConnect crashes before you get to that point. If you go into the other view to look at pictures closer you have to switch back to the other view to access any other functions in KTConnect . There is no communication feature. There is no marking your child absent feature. It's a pretty useless app at this point.

KTConnect feels like a free beta version. You cannot message the daycare or teacher watching your little one. The pictures don’t populate at the top of the feed and cause KTConnect to crash as they load. Very poor user interface in general. Also no way to pay? The training session offered was more focused on how to check in and out the children as opposed to offering great features. I hope they have major updates soon. This is so annoying, to the point we are looking at other daycares that don’t use KTConnect…

Absolutely horrible app. I don’t know why our daycare center continues to use this one. For some reason, I don’t have full permissions in KTConnect , and I am the main guardian on the account as I am my daughters mother. Her dad doesn’t have any permissions and cannot even see her daily activity feed. I cannot set up billing or make payments or see itemized bills. Pictures that her teachers post take forever to load, when they do. I also do not like that we do not have a communication platform anymore between us and her teachers. Before we used to easily be able to message them through KTConnect .

The change to this away from the previous Kangarootime app is hot garbage. Please read HeyDaveA’s highlighted review for a list of features previously available that are now absent, missing, or broken.

It’s clear KTConnect must’ve had some sort of financial or security reasons for being initiated, because as a whole it is a clear and unacceptable downgrade from the previous version. How in the #%*^ did they Think launching KTConnect without even the ability to message teachers what is acceptable?

I hope someday KTConnect, and this review as such are deleted. The previous app needed slight modification, but was a more than adequate product.

KTConnect. is garbage. It doesn’t work properly, I have no way of connecting with the staff through KTConnect . You have to email them separately and hope the get it. The pictures never load. We switched over to KTConnect and were told this would make things so much easier. It’s the worst.

Get rid of the “hours ago” jargon and list actual times for items. Diaper change listed at 1:30p/13:30 (allow for user time preference of phone to pull through) is easier to read than 6 hours ago.

Also, still awaiting a way to message/interaction with center staff.

KTConnect requires much more work. I cleared my child’s balance and it has yet to reflect as such.

Honestly, the only real ask I have is that photos carry the metadata time over when saving to my phone. I choose to adjust them manually, but it’s definitely a pain.

Our daycare switched from Brightwheel to this platform due to background features apparently, but as the parent the experience has been poor.

1) The interface feels cluttered and dated making it not intuitive where to go. Brightwheel used simple interfaces that landed you where you were more frequently going and hid other information that you might go to once or infrequently (think account and info)
2) although I have notifications on it seems to only push for announcements and messages and not feed activity. Brightwheel let the user pick the level of notifications. I want all feed activity to show me throughout the day.
3) you can’t use a desktop version. While at work I don’t always have my phone on so I like to see the browser or be able to download photos not on my phone or to see things bigger there where it is more ergonomic to read than on a phone.
4) you can’t zoom into images and see the details of your kids experiences amongst the group.
5) teachers are also not notified about messages so early pickup times might be missed if it wasn’t when they were deliberately looking at KTConnect .

The team should definitely check out brightwheel for user experience tips and steal what they legally can. KT might be better on the pocket or the 5 office staff but it is a huge downgrade to the parents and my understanding to the teachers in the room.

I’m sad. I loved brightwheel.

Only been using a few days with our preschool. For one in the gallery once you click on an image It doesn’t allow you to scroll through each picture you have to X out of each picture and pull up another.
Also when checking in a child if the teach tablet doesn’t have a good connection to WiFi like I experienced this morning it will have a problem loading up the QR code for the parent to check in or out the student. I understand that it wants a real time connection for security purposes but this caused a delay. Fortunately after closing the program and reloading and waiting another few minutes it came up. But the only other solution was to manually check the student in. Which could lead to another accountability issues.

I can’t even login as app goes back to login page when I switch app to get one time password from mail.

Update: app is updated to fixed issue.. updating rating to 4

KTConnect is easy to use and its simple interface allows me to get the information I need during my kids’ day at school.

Our childcare center just changed over to this system and KTConnect is trash. I’ve accidentally set up my bank account multiple times because it doesn’t load the accounts properly and now I can’t disable auto pay on the extra accounts. I’m sure it will process my account multiple times for our tuition. What a pain…
