Ultimate Pro Baseball GM Reviews

For one it’s hard to play the game it crashes my iPhone, and I have to wait til it dies. 2, it’s hard to not get fired but I won’t blame the game for that, just seemed the football one was wayyyy easier. I could win on whatever difficulty, this one I can’t even manage to not be fired on casual. Probably easier with premium you can trade for cash considerations but it’s hard to get your 71 team to be competitive by drafting and developing because you don’t have money for facilities so they never get good enough and getting one 81 overall per free agency isn’t enough, to make my 71 into a 82 in 4 years. Even spending money on the training facility doesn’t help enough. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Initially enjoyed the game until I needed support. Especially for an in-game purchase. Support does answer but never actually actions on anything they say they will. After providing information and logs, they advised that they would provide a refund. Weeks and weeks have passed and they continue to provide excuses, mainly that the tickets will be worked in the order they received. Again it has been nearly 2 months and still nothing. DO NOT make any in-game purchases, it’s not worth it at all. Honestly you’re better off not downloading this game in general.

Fun to play, but man the stats can get out of hand. I had a starter pitch 40 games with 500+ innings and 600+ strikeouts in one year (did not win the Pitcher of the Year). Most players good or bad will hit 20 home runs. The game only uses 3 of the 6 players in your bullpen. Starters will go 8 or 9 innings regardless of how many runs they give up. One year a guy hit 70 doubles and 80 homeruns. Playoff teams will win 105 to 130 games. Teams that don’t make the playoffs will all have 100+ losses. I love a lot of the mechanics of this game but it’s hard to get past the outlandish stats. Fixing them would easily make this game a 5 star review.

No success will be had unless you spend money, and there’s no point in spending money when you will either be fired or forced to retire after 25 seasons making all your hard work go away. It’s a fun game for awhile but when a rebuild takes 5-7 years to just build up funds, and you’re competing with 110 overall coaches and 87-80 overall teams, hopefully you didn’t get baited to spend 2 bucks just to see all your hard work go away when you’re just on the verge of turning a dump franchise around. It’s a well built game but sets you up for failure.

I’m a Premium user of Basketball GM.
I enjoy being able to customize the league’s teams. I also own Football GM, but not yet Premium and probably because there are no logos to choose from.
In Baseball GM, my biggest issue is that my customization is very limited being that the game comes with the teams already having hard coded lettered logos. What if I don’t want a Honolulu Wings in my major league, but I do want a major league New Orleans team? It would be hard to rename the teams being that the logos are HW and NO and already hard tied to a color scheme and hard tied to a league.
The difference with Basketball GM is that the logos were not letter logos, but images and I could tie any image to any city I wanted as long as I thought up an appropriate nickname that fit the logo image. Much harder to figure out team names when I am forced to work with logos like IB, HW, HK and so on...
if possible, I would say allow for users to be able to change the logos. At lease be able to choose from a list of lettered logos. A list of different stylized letters and allow them to change color scheme when users edit the team colors.
Third would be a great update to Basketball GM and Football GM as well...

I think not being able to customize how I want kind of dampers my interest and is keeping me from becoming Premium.

There are a few things I would like to see in this game
1. Players should be able to change positions. It would be fine if they lost some overall points, but I still think this should be an option
2. More realistic schedules. The schedules aren’t realistic at all and that seems like a easy thing to fix so hopefully that changes soon
3. More minor league teams. This could be an option before you start a new game because for some people this would make things really complicated, but for others this would make things more fun and realistic
4. Playable spring training. This is straight forward so you probably know what I mean

I’ve played this a lot and have made progress. However, if you get into the playoffs one season the game likes to set you back the next (meaning good players and good coaches just don’t reproduce good results hardly ever and you just can’t gain momentum). At that point you’re left holding the bag … meaning high-ish payroll with zero bank to pay for it. In the end.. you get fired for running the team into the ground and quit!

It’s either all that… or pay a few bucks to upgrade the current regime you are playing. Which isn’t a lot of money but… you just will have to pay the in app bucks again when your GM gets old as dirt and needs to retire.

So… it’s impossible to win without in app bucks guys. That’s the way it is no matter what the developer says.

Pretty darn cool simulation otherwise.

This game was good with a lot of potential but the most recent update has brought on major issues.

1. Not being able to promote/demote takes away a lot of realism and ability to build roster.
2. Not being able to trade minor league prospects for major leaguers is a bummer. Only work around is to promote the players you want to trade and then you have no choice because you cannot demote them.
3. I loved that players would develop and train faster in the minors. Gave you an incentive to keep a top prospect in the minors instead of promoting him even if his overall was higher.
4. Miss separate coaching staff for minors compared to majors.

Please correct these major issues.

Other things I wish were adjusted not related to the recent update is the roster configuration. Wish you did not have to keep 2 of every position player. Makes your roster larger than necessary and takes away finances you could use for other areas.

Game is great to play and is essentially exactly what I was looking for. I’ve played the game a lot since downloading and purchased the premium, which I still think was worth it.

All that said, there are a few minor improvements that I think could take the game to the next level.

First is realism. While I don’t expect a completely realistic game (nor do I care much), some stats are just too unrealistic. Pitchers throwing 400+ strikeouts, batters hitting over .400, the list goes on. Making these stats at least slightly more realistic might be an improvement.

Second for me is season length and trade deadlines. The trade deadline is earlier than the real life deadline but the season goes an extra month, so there isn’t any real possibility of trading in or out of playoff contention if your on the cusp, often making season goals a matter of luck.

All in all great game, will keep playing but would love to see those updates.

This game fixes my baseball manager needs EXCEPT, the fact that this game on casual mode is 10x harder than any of their other games on the hardest setting. I literally can’t have a casual experience playing it. It’s either grind as hard as I can or get fired, and even then the scaling is pretty aggressive On the easiest mode. Some adjusting down is needed. Keep the hardcore experience for those that want that. But please make casual mode playable.

I do really enjoy this game and the Football GM one as well. Premium is definitely worth the low cost. I do wish for a few improvements for future players.

To keep consistency, a small amount of free XP should be given to premium members like in the other FootballGM game. Another things to consider is, the International free agent players are all so low rated.

I also don’t understand why injuries still happen when I turn injuries off.

Wish you could see minor league standing in the same place as major league standings and wish that minor league champions were tracked like the majors. Also wish you received money for the minor league team doing well just like the majors. If the minor league team wins it all you should receive half what you would get if your major league team did and so on for every other finish otherwise you are having to pay for players that give you no benefit to have.

I think the game is fine, but there are two things i’d like you to add, one is how in the basketball gm game you can upgrade attributes like their three point and mid range, so like batting and contact hits should be added for attribute upgrades, the last thing is When you put someone on the trade block you can see the deals the cpu offers you instead of you having to look thru their whole team to get “we need more” or trade accepted.

Your previous games are one of my favorites, but this one I think should still have some of the same aspects of the old ones. Like being able to spend training points to increase the attributes of your player like batting and pitching. In the other games it was 3 point shooting and 2 point and dunking and that. Also for the all time records and team records one of the ones you should add is the farthest home run hit. That would make the game more fun

I think you should all I think you should be able to like play the games so that you can like experience it more and not have to worry about contracts that much & money and stuff like because I have played the game a lot and I had to start so many franchises because I keep on running out of money and I can’t free up space without losing a really good team I I use money on this game the premium thing so I’d like this please see this so that you can make this better please thank you if you will

Love the game, and the newer updates changing certain rules I don’t mind but I don’t understand the changing of UltimateProBaseballGM ’s layout and interface. The old formatting was simple and easy, the new formatting feels somehow too cluttered and yet theres always so many menus to open to do basic things like check rosters. Just think the old interface was unbroken

This game is amazing I love ever part of it, one fact that is continuing to pop up is the way the in game managers control their pitching staff. The amount of times I choose the play game option and the manager leaves the starter in for all nine innings is crazy. I just had a game where We lose 13-5 and the starter stayed in the whole game giving up all 13 runs. When you pick “play game” it would enhance the experience of the game if you could handle you’re own pitching staff somehow. Where you can put in pitchers that are on your roster so you can actually have a chance to win. Instead of keeping the starter in and letting them get shelled and you just lose that game. You don’t have to change anything else. No need for defensive subs or hitting subs because you as a GM or player should already have your best hitters and fielders on the field. I play this game all the time and love it. I think this would put it over the top. Thanks

Wonderful game, probably spent dozens of hours on it. At least in the current patch, simming in the playoffs does not seem to be working correctly. In my current save, I’ve spent 20 years testing my theory. As the highest rated team/ best record in baseball, if I sim the round, I only win the round about 17% of the time. If I play each game and sim from there, I win the round 75% of the time. I know upsets happen, that’s why I did this over so many seasons against teams that are better and worse than me.

Great app well built and would highly recommend. Would like to see a few things changed/added that would make it even better IMO

*you can’t trade picks unless I’m missing something
*the value you can trade a player for is capped at 10M would be better if it was higher. You could actually look at buying players oppose to always trading like for like.
*think it would be good if had a scout who sent you a list of players who you could potential sign who play your system opposed to having to always search for players.

There isn’t much I can critique this game about. I’ve been super addicted playing this game and going to start playing the other GM games y'all made. My two questions-
When I trade for player I sometimes get tricked by their overall being boosted by the team. Will I need to upgrade my scout department to see their true overall or the players won’t reveal their overall?
Last question is your GM games backed by “Game Center” (iPhone)? I’ll be getting a new phone and I don’t want to start my GM on the other games if I’ll have to restart from the beginning. That’s all!
