Very Unreliable

My collegiate band uses this, and it is not great. It crashes all the time, really randomly and inconveniently. The crashing has been getting worse since I first started with Beam a year ago. Notations from other songs will randomly appear on my music, and sometimes notations will disappear completely and not come back. The search feature rarely works, which isn’t great when I’m quickly looking for a certain song from a long library. Sometimes when I’m writing annotations they won’t stick, won’t erase, and multiple versions of what I’ve wrote and erased come and go. When flipping between pages or pieces, stuff often won’t load (no matter how good the internet connection), leaving me stranded on the field with a blank screen. The save zoom fails a lot too, which is confusing and frustrating when a piece of music is big and long.
Everyone in my 300+ member band is having these issues. Overall, not a great software.

Bad

BeamMusic is very racist. When telling it my interest and mentioning that I am Mexican, it asked me if i liked salsa music and bean burritos. Wouldn’t recommend

Crashes constantly

Beam has been crashing like crazy lately. It makes it very hard to rehearse effectively when BeamMusic constantly kicks me out & glitches while I’m trying to use it.

What was so wrong with paper

Why is there no proper and easy way to quickly change pages. All I can do is endlessly swipe and just drag the music around in hopes that it will eventually decide to change the page. Could have been made decently but the whole app is just dumb and not well through out.

extremely pleasurable😮‍💨

turn the volume up as much as you’d like, place it wherever you like😉, and get to pleasuring😩

Good app

You can use a toilet brush as a toothbrush and a vibrator.

Much more cumbersome than FlipFolder

Decent idea and starting point, however it has some questionable design choices: - No way to mass select parts, each one has to be chosen manually which when your band has dozens of songs is cumbersome - Cannot scroll pages of music if zoomed in even a little bit - No way to resize and set the desired view, for example with Flip Folder you can set the zoom and placement of music and then lock that so it is always there and you can scroll freely, this is not an option in Beam
I would not use this if I wasnt required to in my band

Great idea, but the execution could be much better

This has the potential to be an excellent app, but some quality of life adjustments are necessary. Namely having to choose the right part that you are playing for every individual song. The vast majority of users are people who only play one part at any given time. I should be able to tell BeamMusic the part that I play and have it automatically display that piece of music for me. Understandable how this can be overlooked in early development, but a fix would help a lot.

Missing features

Good app but its missing highlighters which I use for dynamics. It’s also missing a white colored pen that can be used to erase notes & change the score when needed.

Annotations Disappeared

Overall Beam is great! It’s easy to use on the field, especially the annotation features. In rehearsal I always mark my step offs in my music to help me remember.
On game day, I used the live mode feature to stay in synch with my director. It worked well! But when I exited live mode and went to open my music at halftime, all of my notes were missing from my music. I tried closing and opening BeamMusic again but that wasn’t working. My notes kept coming back after zooming in and out but then would disappear again. This had never happened to me before. The only difference between rehearsal and game day was that I had used the live mode feature. But I don’t know how or if those features correlate.
I do enjoy using Beam, and I hope this bug gets fixed!

It’s all right

My 5 year old son bit the dust last week. Whoops.

beam

i love beamers. this has truly changed my life. thank you beam.

Great for my sex life

I love chicken. But that doesn’t compare to the amount I love BeamMusic. This got me laid 10 times in the 10 months I’ve had it. It’s been gray for s*x life

Amazing developers!

We were part of the trial group for Beam last year. While the early days of BeamMusic were rough, as you may expect from a new app, the dev team have worked directly with us to make BeamMusic as functional and usable as possible! Our band has gone fully digital thanks to UDB and Beam!

Splendid

BeamMusic is exactly what I was looking for when I was presented with the issue of how I could view my music on my phone. The creator of BeamMusic deserves a pay raise! The ease of use is amazing and the user interface looks great. I will get all of my friends to use it, and if they say that they’re fine… then I will make them download it. 10/10 app, if I could rate it higher, I would!

beam

this is bomb.

Awsome

BeamMusic has really helped me with music. I highly recommend for young marchers
