I'm writing this review to warn others about the terrible selling experience I had on Swappa. I listed my phone for sale on the app, and it was immediately purchased by a buyer. However, the buyer then refused to pay for the phone, and Swappa refused to help me. I spent weeks trying to get in touch with Swappa customer service, but I never received a response. I eventually had to file a chargeback with my credit card company, but I'm still out the money I paid to list my phone on Swappa.
I'm very disappointed with Swappa's customer service. They were completely unhelpful and unresponsive. I would not recommend Swappa to anyone who is looking to sell a phone or other electronic device.
Here are some of the specific details about my experience:
I listed my phone for sale on Swappa on May 1st.
The phone was purchased by a buyer on May 2nd.
The buyer contacted me on May 3rd to say that they would not be able to pay for the phone.
I contacted Swappa customer service on May 4th to report the issue.
I never received a response from Swappa customer service.
I filed a chargeback with my credit card company on May 10th.
The chargeback was approved on May 15th.
I'm still out the money I paid to list my phone on Swappa, and I'm very disappointed with their customer service. I would not recommend Swappa to anyone who is looking to sell a phone or other electronic device.

I am not pleased with swappa. I was ordering a phone on the site under nycphonebuyer page. I placed my order, checked with my bank to see if it went through. It did. When I returned to swappa, I was met with no account. I had been kicked off by swappa. I contacted the help desk by email. It said they answer promptly in 20 minutes. It is going on a day and a half. I tried contacting through IG and twitter (X) but know answer. I just want to know what happened and if my money us lost. The other part of the story is I contacted nycphonebuyer to see if he received my order. No answer back yet. I don’t know if he received, if swappa notified him of the order, or what. I don’t have time to stress. I recently had a major surgery. I may just chalk it up to a fine, swappa keep this money and lose whole lot more in return

Swappa has failed me as a customer. A seller refused to complete a transaction, leaving me with $700 tied up for nearly a month. Swappa provided zero assistance in recovering my funds and instead advised me to push PayPal, which has its own lengthy dispute process.
Not only does Swappa fail to enforce transactions, but they also refuse to provide even a minimal courtesy credit or reimbursement for Swappa fees. Their support team is unresponsive and unhelpful, offering boilerplate responses rather than real solutions. A platform that allows sellers to waste buyers’ time and money without consequence is not one to be trusted.
I have been a loyal customer, referring many people to Swappa, but after this experience, I will never use or recommend this platform again. If you value your time, money, and customer service, stay far away from Swappa.
