Useful but poorly implemented

Every modern medical organization must have a good information and communication app. MyMountSinai provides both information and a way to communicate. However, it is poorly created. Many of the pages do not open at all. Those that open half of the time do not load. When they don’t load you have to go back and try again. When they do open it rarely happens quickly, more often you will wait for 20 seconds or a minute. At that point you don’t know if you should wait or try again. There is a way to share your medications with Mount Sinai, however, you can’t just enter your information. You have to find your exact medication though search. When your medication is on the list you have to go through a long list of different quantities and types before finding your. But perhaps you should not worry about that since many of the medications or quantities are simply on the the list which you already waited a minute to load. Same goes for allergies. You can add them, but only if you find them in a list that’s poorly maintained. In conclusion. This is a needed app but the people who create and support it care little if MyMountSinai is operational, is useful, will be used, or it is usable at all.

Disrespect of Urgent care workers

I went to MS Urgent Care at 638 Columbus ave, before going I signed on to my chart to use on my way at 6:53pm, I put the time 30 mins arrival. The Urgent care 638 time of closing is 8:30pm. I arrived at 7:27pm. I rung the bell and the lady at the front desk turned me away. She stated they wasn’t seeing anymore people, bc last patient is at 8:15, but I got there at 7:27, so why am I’m being turned away. So I left and then I went back to ask why, when I rung the door bell again the lady at the front desk heard the bell and saw me at the door so she got up and walked away ignoring me. There was another lady at the desk looked right at me and ignored the fact I was there. If I couldn’t be seen MS Urgent Care neeed to change their time. I was so disappointed and disrespected not only by going all the way there just to be turned away, also by the two ladies at the desk ignoring me. What good is to be able to book an appt and then put on my way if it’s not a good way to book an appt. That wasn’t right what the ladies that work there did to me.

Consistently disappointing

First I went to urgent care because I had eye infection. The doctor looked at it and diagnosed eczema despite my eye and cheek beneath it being swollen and oozing. Not one question asked about my eye and him giving me a referral to a dermatologist I finally convinced him that I had an eye infection and he prescribed oral an antibiotic drops. After he prescribed cream that the box clearly states should not be used on the face (the only place he identified dry skin). Fast forward saw primary care physician via telehealth sand she referred me to a wonderful ophthalmologist at eye and ear infirmary. Had a complete and extensive eye exam. Made an appointment to have a procedure to lance if it didn’t resolve. Two weeks later on the bus to have the procedure done by Dr Reddy and I get a call saying the procedure has to be cancelled 45 minutes prior with no real explanation other than Dr is not well. I guess it was sudden onset. His next available appointment is Feb 3. And we can’t have socialized medicine in this country because care would take too long to receive.

Not as reliable

Since installing I no longer get the option to echeck in, or a text message asking to confirm. And yes, I have notifications set on. As well, in the Communication Preferences section there are options, bit no way to know if you are selecting or unselection. And under each option there’s a cryptic notation that looks very much like a programmer’s debug info.

So now I get phone calls asking me to confirm, and it’s a reak]l nuisance. Support is obviously outsourced . Instead of answering the support person repeats the question back. No matter how many times you say the question, all you get is the question back.

Virtual Visit

Overall MyMountSinai is good for messaging your doctor and managing prescriptions and scheduling appointments. However, the virtual visit function is complicated and has not worked for me. After several attempts relating to two separate appointments I’ve resorted back to in-person, which is frustrating since the commute is pretty far away. Also, the pre-check is quirky and sometimes requires you to complete several times. That said, I always have a great experience with my physician’s and the issues with MyMountSinai is not a deal breaker for me.

Get questions answered quickly

I love that I can email my doctors. They respond in a timely manner and then I have their instructions in writing. No more losing my notes.

Lots of things work really well

MyMountSinai is great for communicating with my doctor. It’s so much faster than a telephone call. I cannot make an appointment though with the labs. There is nothing on there your app that would allow for this. When I call to make an appointment I go through six steps
(Listen to apologies because Colvid has created such chaos, whatever yada yada and then finally start pushing buttons!)
The phone rings 20 times and then it disconnects. I hope someday you get employees some bright eyed engineer who allow allow me to make an appointment with my lab online!

Takes time to digest options

I was being treated by my Mt. Sinai team for about ten months before I finally got the hang of basic functions, but it has become a quite useful conduit of medical information and a key collection point for my records.
Everyday I find something undiscovered useful function.

My chart app

It’s very convenient and easy to use, I prefer this then calling and having to speak to call center in another state then wait till your doctor gets the message. Here it’s faster.

Slow to update

I’ve been waiting 2 days for my COVID results to come back and it’s still pending. There’s no one to reach out to for updates. I even had an ultrasound appointment this morning that didn’t even show up in my appointments page. MyMountSinai doesn’t update in real time and it’s nerve wrecking to have to sit and check all day, and to top it off I’m an employee of the hospital

Great

This is a great app. You can make appointments, and e-checking so when you go to your appointment your all set and they send you reminders of your appointment, I love it.

Want good service and treatment? Go to NYU!!

Useless application because no way to reach dr, office or indeed anyone!!! So why does it even exist?

I intend to transfer to NYU. Their patient services are far better, their administration is slightly better and their drs seem much better for the Most part.

It took me months of calling and being put on hold for up to 20 mins before I could schedule a follow up Appt at NYEEI! Eventually I had to call the President’s office for help.

Even the drs complain about the poor digital
Systems. the solely money driven administrators, and the pressure to see as many patients for as little time as possible.

Can't use app to schedule an appointment

There is no apparent way to schedule an appointment with my primary care doctor. This is a very significant flaw, unless you are a big fan of making appointments by phone, wading through menu options, and then being on hold forever.

By

It cool

I like it because when you need a appointment it way better and the doctors can write you back when you have a concern cool app

Brain-dead App

Can’t make an appointment to see your existing doctors….the only choice is to see a new doctor and, at least in my case, when I choose this option it doesn’t find my existing doctors. ?????

Also you can’t do anything with Mt. Sinai Doctors which is a shame because here on Staten Island they don’t answer their phone so it’s a real mystery how you make appointments.

Life Saver

Has everything I need to see all my doctors. Loved being able to check in and arrive myself.

Does not update after I enter info

I get annoying frequent reminders to update info after I have already done it. Can this be fixed?
I am considering giving up my chart for this reason!

I love MyMountSinai app

Everything is in order and easy to use. I wish i can make my appointment here too. Great app.

Ok but needs help

The telehealth settings don’t work well with iPhone. Even if you ok pop ups the video feature doesn’t work. If there is another place to go in settings I cannot find it.

By

Great app, but doctors need to get on board!

Several of my doctors are still not on board. I can’t make appointments, I can’t refill prescriptions, I can’t ask questions. It’s very frustrating. Get with the program!

MyMS app

Easy to use, manage appointments and messages my drs

By

Mediocre

This new app is very buggy. It would not let me complete my e-check in for an upcoming appointment. It continually crashed when I got to the last / confirmation page. What a waste of time.

Nothing happens

“There was a problem communicating with the server”. Been like that for days now.

My experience with My Mount Sinai has been absolutely awful. The very idea that it can take 72 hours just to return a call, and mostly you don’t get a call, to set up an appointment is insane. I had to drive to my doctor’s office to set up an appointment. And, this is just one instance where they fall woefully short. My PCP, who is excellent, is retiring; and I will be certain not to choose a doctor affiliated with Mount Sinai.
