So Recoup claims to “this app” some of your cash. Here’s the real deal …

this app wants access to every aspect of your life. Your finances, emails, social media accounts, contact information, credit cards … all of it. For each account you give them unrestricted access to, they give you a measly few points. After you have gave them enough information to steal your identity, you MIGHT have enough points to cash out $4.00.

But wait, you can’t cash out … because you also need something called “badges” which are obtained by completing offers that make this app a boat load of money. Wow, what an amazing deal.

So in the end, this app gets all of your personal and private information which they SELL, and then convince you to complete offers which make them MORE money! What do you get? Not even enough for a gallon of gas.

Had high hopes for this but I’m now in the process of trying to delete my account. Not sure how long it will take. You have to submit a request to delete your account and it has been days now and no word. I linked my bank account and spent all this time clicking on all my purchases. Said I was up to $180. Was like wow cool let me cash out. I then had to submit my social, drivers license and selfies to become verified to be able to cash out. After I did this which took a day I then see it says I need 5,000 points and 1 badge to claim every $5. The badges are ridiculous to try and get. The surveys don’t work. It also now says that your points expire after 6 months. I would literally take me that entire time maybe more to do enough tasks to be able to cash out the $180 it said I could get. There’s better apps out there. Don’t waste your time

There’s zero evidence a “claim” was filed. They don’t send you information on what ‘fees’ they found in your account that they’re submitting a claim for and when declined, zero evidence they even spoke with a bank. Recoup is really shady and useless. I don’t care that I didn’t obtain a refund but the amount of vulnerable information I shared to get zero detail from them in return makes me sick. I need formal documentation. This is a SCAM.

I’m pretty familiar with all the receipt apps and how they work, and this one is definitely more scammy and harder to actually earn points and cashout. not worth it.

my bank acct is linked but only one of the bank-related rewards are honored. you can earn points with receipts or by leaving video reviews, but you can’t cash out until you earn a badge. most of the badges require you to sign up for a different company’s subscription or bank account. so you can earn all the points but can’t get your rewards without signing up for something you probably don’t want. pass.

They switched to a subscription model with no warning and now all of my points are inaccessible. Only option is to pay up or delete account. They’re now charging almost $100 a year lol. There are dozens of other apps that do this and don’t charge, better pay outs too. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Be careful guys when it comes to Recoup. They will in no way actually make an attempt to get your bank fees back. Not only is there no evidence like someone else said, I actually called my bank to ask them and they told me they had never been contacted by this app in any way. It’s been a month. I’m currently exploring legal action against this app. Just be warned. Everything else in Recoup works fine, but it has nothing to do with getting bank fees back like they advertise. Use Harvest, they will actually get your bank fees back. Don’t download Recoup.

They absolute did not follow through on their promise after I paid them for a service, they actually didn’t even send anything to my bank, as I’ve called them asking if this app had made any claims on my behalf, to which all three banks gave me a resounding,”No, we have not been in contact with any other representatives on your behalf.” I had a fantastic time, however, using the cushion app, which got me a refund on two of the three accounts that this app claimed,”Wasn’t able to offer [me] a refund at this time.” Slimy, slimy company

I used Recoup until I hit 5,000 points and realized there is no way to redeem them. The way they have the badge system setup is scammy because it doesn't allow you to simply cash out reward dollars when tiers are reached. You have to complete tasks that are usually account signups of various apps that require a subscription. The only other way to get a badge is to have a live video review that gets 25 or more reviews. My cash out should not be dependent on app reviews or ridiculous tasks to earn badges. I submitted enough receipts to earn 5,000 points or 5$ worth and should be able to cash them out. So I quit Recoup and customer service said "We will take your comments into consideration." Don't give them your information for free. Use other apps that do not restrict cash out like Ibotta, Fetch, Checkout 51, and Tada. If they made cash outs fair, then this would be an amazing app.

I started using this app, solely because I was told that I may be able to get back some overdraft fees. I paid for the monthly subscription twice and had not got any updates in my claim. My bank did send me a letter stating they got a message from me but they had no other information on me. So now I’m out $30 which put me further in a whole. Just avoid Recoup. I would rate it a 0 if I could.

I don’t understand how you want me to pay you for a service but yet if you don’t fulfill on the service I paid for I don’t get the money I paid for that service back. You people have completely failed, I’m pretty sure, not only me but also in the process others. If it’s money you want don’t advertise as a free service. And again I guarantee I’m not getting anything in return

I was fine with the badges and how long it took me to earn enough points to cash out; I even thought requiring me to update Recoup was a cool way to verify my identity. I drew the line at providing my social security number as further verification to cash out. Listen, I’m pretty cavalier with the info I provide but y’all need to find a different method of verification. That’s just a step too far.

The contact they make with customers make it appear that they are coming from my email rather than Recoup and even when I get satisfactory replies, Recoup keeps sending messages to the suppliers. It makes me appear rude. I keep having to apologize to wonderful businesses that have treated me superbly.

It’s super annoying to have to take a video for a review for EVERY purchase. You can’t earn points unless you take a video of youself and it’s ridiculous. There should be a choice of how you review something, video or written. Shouldn’t have to be both. This would be much better if it wasn’t required to take a video for every purchase. Half the time I don’t even remember what I purchased. I should just be able to earn points without having to take a million videos.

7 days down and already this app has gotten me some really valuable rebates and overdraft fees refunded!! Woo-hoooo! Also its really addicting to watch people review their stuff and great info too!

Wow. Love how this app lets me rate and review my transactions all in one place. Beyond that, I was super skeptical that their bank fee refund feature even worked. However…..it’s already turned out to be a really valuable service as I’ve had over $200 refunded. It’s too bad banks need to take advantage of people during difficult times, but pretty cool that this app helps to right that wrong. Even better, it only cost me $1.54 to file a claim unlike other apps out there that want $40++++ out of pocket and don’t even guarantee results.

But like a dummy a forgot a letter in my email. So at the confirmation stage I can’t get it. I can’t change the email either. I want to use Recoup. Help!

Got $200+ back in overdraft fees the first time and now I’m trying it out again. They’ve gotten me out of some pretty tricky situations so I’m thankful for Recoup and it’s fun reviewing places for them as well.

This is 1 of the few times I’ve used an app that lets me earn $ without impossible requirements. I started doing 20 second video reviews and ratings of my everyday purchases and I’ve gotten a ton of points in like 2 weeks. Cashing out with visa gift cards is straightforward so I give this 5*

I love Recoup! For only $1 i got about $200 in overdraft and late fees refunded back into my account. Although it took the whole 30 days ( i think also because my bank account was fairly new) At first it told me i didn’t get it but checked another 2 hours and i was approve. 10/10 very easy to understand and use!!

I was recommended to this site by my boyfriend and even with one bank and e-mail I got money back in one day 🤯
