🤷‍♀️ it’s free

2024-05-15

Generally pretty good for a free app but it’s not that accurate anymore if your trying to track your sleep since itll think I’m asleep even when I’m on tiktok or tossing and turning awake all night otherwise I feel like it tracks the rem sleep pattern okay. I used to like the alarm function but recently it’s been annoying me due to it always choosing the earliest time possible to ring even if I’m dead asleep and there’s 30 minutes until the end range on the alarm, I really wish I could change the snooze timer. I do hate the alarm sounds but I’m very sensitive to sounds so take that with a grain of salt. Mainly at this point I’m just using it to keep track of my pain levels and what happened during the day to see if it affects my sleep

Needs improvement

2023-09-24

Idk why or how I downloaded Sleepwave, and now I regret paying for the premium. It isn’t as good as I was expecting. The sleep sounds that play have about 2 loops, which I could easily track when the loop started. Not only that, the relaxing tasks aren’t all that fun or relaxing. If anything, they’re very tedious. While it does a semi good job at tracking, there isn’t all that it tracks; only light, heavy, and REM sleep (as well as awake time). The alarms don’t go off, and when they do, they do not wake me up. I’m sorry to say but I don’t think this is a good app. Developers, make improvements and I promise to change my mind.

Pretty good but lacks essential feature

2024-09-08

Been using Sleepwave for about six months now. It has some nice features, seems to be somewhat accurate as far as nighttime readings even with my dog (100lbs) sleeping in the room with me.
You have the ability to enter in a number of different criteria, different things you did that day that might affect your sleep.
This information if categorized or totaled up in someway could be incredibly helpful however there is no way to see, for example, how I slept every day that I had that 3rd cup of coffee.
In my opinion this is a critical feature to have. With this feature I could actually take intentionally specific steps towards sleeping better and overall health.
Maybe make a calendar with totals or something.

Pretty great app

2024-03-11

I’d say overall this is the best sleeping app I’ve found. It does seem more accurate than Apple’s sleep tracker. However I feel the past month it hasn’t been tracking as well.

I personally haven’t changed anything and Sleepwave , my phone, and my Apple watch (which I use to track) are all up to date. But when I review my data it does look like I either sleep through the entire night or barely get up. I unfortunately wake up about every 2 hours each night and it doesn’t seem to be capturing that. I’m not sure if the sensitivity may have changed. I’ll continue to use Sleepwave and adjust my watch positioning/tightness to see if that helps.

Overall would recommend over any other app

Pretty interesting sensing technology

2023-12-25

I originally got Sleepwave for the soft alarm to wake with. The sleep tracking and sensing is just a bonus for me. Although I don’t consider myself to have disorders regarding sleep, I have to say that it’s ability to sense if one is in a deep sleep or REM sleep is probably pretty close to reality. If you get up, even for a few minutes, it seems to accurately detect that brief time awake. Right now I have too many subscriptions to keep track of, so I’m sticking with the free version. If you have sleep issues, this may be worth trying.

Pretty cool app

2024-03-31

I was looking for something that would peacefully wake me up. I love how the music and sound start of low and get a little bit high over 15 mins or whatever you set it to. There are also night sounds that are awesome and sleep tracking. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I hate the idea of a monthly subscription for apps. I would rather just pay $10-$20 be time.
I think there should be an option to buy new sounds not rent then. I don’t even use the sleep tracker, I only like the alarm and sleep sounds xD
And I would totally pay for more sounds.

Mindful Sleeping

2024-03-22

I began using Sleepwave while I was on a road trip and unable to sleep because I kept ruminating on work. I got Sleepwave because I’d had trouble waking up after ruminating before. The mental muddle makes it hard to want to wake up to similar circumstances. Sleepwave did help me to wake up slowly, which let me come fully awake in a reasonable state of mind.
Most recently it’s been helping me fall asleep with rainy soundscapes - continually pulling me away from thoughts that ultimately repeat one another. It’s a good way to keep me from picking up me phone too, as interacting with the device removes the soundscape. I would recommend, although I haven’t tried any paid versions. If it keeps improving, I might just to see!!

It’s a good app

2024-03-29

I downloaded back in October because I wanted an alarm sound from my music library. I really didn’t need or want the sleep tracking but I used it. I enjoyed the watch feature that woke me with a small vibration, as to not wake my wife with a noisy alarm. Used the go to sleep sound once, didn’t care for it. Overall it’s a good alarm. I really didn’t understand what I was supposed to do with the sleep tracking information. Apple updated their software to do sleep tracking so use it now since it’s free.

Good but not great

2024-10-01

I got Sleepwave because I had trouble waking up in the morning, so I googled apps that could help me with that, and this came up. I unfortunately can’t get the paid version, which I’m sure would be better since it has the gentle awakening feature and the current feature I have basically wakes me up normally, but I still use it for the shorter snoozes which help me not oversleep too much and also for the helpful but also not super accurate sleep tracking. All in all, it’s not exactly what I needed, but you should all still give it a try because it might work perfectly for you, especially if you might be able to pay for it.

If you can’t seem to find an alarm to wake you up on time in the morning, this is the app for you

2024-05-10

I’ve tried several alarm apps and none of them worked for me. Some I slept threw and others were so loud and chaotic that they would put me in a bad mood early in the morning. I was looking for an alarm that would wake me up, but also wouldn’t be too loud or noisy and disturb everyone else in my home. Sleepwave does all of that. And I love that it tracks my sleeping patterns as well. I was sold on Sleepwave when I read a review that said they were finally able to wake up on time, and it’s true! If all the other apps haven’t worked for you, try this one. It’s amazing and it works for me!

Super unique! Amazing technology!

2024-04-11

I fell in love with Sleepwave! It has many unique features such as the smart alarm where you can choose to wake up gently from a duration of 15 minutes or more! However, one of my favorite parts of Sleepwave was the Wavescapes which is found in the “Relax” tab. I felt as though it really did relax me and the Wavescapes were so mesmerizing to watch! I highly recommend Sleepwave to anyone who wants to track their sleep patterns but also wants help getting to sleep and waking up gently instead of using your standard and abrupt alarms.

Seriously helpful

2024-04-22

As someone who is used to snoozing a handful of times every morning, I wasn’t prepared for a free app to truly change the way my days start. Before downloading Sleepwave, I was awoken by loud alarms and would delay the start of my day by 30 minutes usually. Now, I wake up gently and usually feeling pretty refreshed. The technology works and I’m so glad that Sleepwave is free, allowing more people to experience it. I also love the option to play rain noise as you’re getting ready to fall asleep. Can’t wait to see what other features are added as time goes on.

I Don’t Leave Reviews Often

2024-04-12

Sleepwave offers a lot of great features for free. It tracks sound / movements (etc.) while you sleep and more importantly, this is the only app that can wake me up. I guess other alarm apps always woke me up during my deeper sleep or something, but for whatever reason this is the only one that works, besides another app I used to have— which is now functional with paid subscriptions only. The main features are entirely free for Sleepwave so far and I’m extremely happy with it. It wakes me up feeling mostly alive and of sound mind, and the controls are intuitive enough that I can snooze / stop it in the mornings when I’m tired, all without being late. Plus it even does slow rises by playing a selection of music / soothing sounds.

Love it!

2024-05-10

I find it easier to wake up with Sleepwave because it is a gentle alarm that is still very effective, which is great for me because I am a heavier sleeper. The gentle nature of the alarm also keeps me in a better mood when I wake up because it isn’t a sudden and loud noise, and when you use the time window feature it will wake you up when you’re at a point in your sleep cycle when it is easiest for you to wake up. The tracking seems to be pretty accurate from what I understand and it’s really interesting to see the data of how I’m sleeping. The only minor thing I don’t love is that your screen must remain on for the whole night

Amazing app!

2024-04-12

Sleepwave has helped improve my sleep and especially how I wake up. I don’t pay for premium simply because I don’t have the money to spend on a app to better improve my sleep. Sleepwave wakes me up with gentle sounds which I love, I never get a scare or anything. I really enjoy the slight noises beforehand to let my brain know that it needs to wake up soon. I like that it tracks my sleep to let myself know how many hours of sleep I get on average. Overall it’s a great app with our without premium.

I’ve tried many different sleep apps and none have compared to this one, most make you pay before you even try it and other just simply aren’t that great in my opinion. If your looking for a good sleep app that is free this is a great option for you.

Best Alarmclock

2024-05-10

Getting up at 4:30 in the morning for work was really difficult. I have tried many gradual alarms that don’t jolt you awake, but this app is by far the best I have tried. It is worth the premium subscription, especially for those of us who have to be up at the crack of dawn and for those of us who don’t want enjoy being jolted awake by your phone’s alarm sounds (we all know which ones I’m talking about)! I no longer am dreading getting up at 4:30. In fact, I enjoy my wake ups (never would have EVER thought that was a possibility haha!). Definitely worth it!

it’s so good!

2024-05-10

I have REALLY bad insomnia and my parents told me I needed to start getting up on my own for school so I went searching on Sleepwave Store and I did eventually find other apps but also this one. I am so happy because when I turned my alarm on it had offered a rain sound and OMG!! I fell asleep in less then 5 minutes I don’t think I’ll live without it!I also like the fact that it tells you when you went to bed and when you woke up because that will help me know when I need to start going to bed! Thank you so much for helping me with my sleep😍😍❤️💕❤️❤️

Changed my wake-ups!

2024-05-10

I had been using another Zen-type alarm for years which was wonderful- except after I quit my awful, anxiety-inducing corporate job, every time it went off all I could feel was flight-or-fight. The alarm had conditioned me to be panic mode. Now that I’m working for myself, at home, I needed a fresh start. This goes above what my previous alarm did! A pre-wake up sound (great idea!) and then I paid for the extra features of selecting just the perfect “alarm” sound. I’m so so happy bc I wake up very slowly and need time to orient myself to another day of living. And I cannot deal w. jolting or loud alarms. This is my perfect Zen wake-up call. Thank you, creators of this!!!

Amazing

2024-05-10

Sleepwave is fantastic. The gentle sounds waking me up rather than a LOUD startling alarm makes it so much easier to wake up and start the day.
I like that you can choose which sounds or have it be random. It’s fun waking up to new sounds, especially when they’re not startling you awake.
It’s fantastic that you can have three nights free every week, too. If you’re not sure about this type of alarm you can try it risk free. You also don’t have to commit to buying an alarm clock, and you’ll have Sleepwave with you wherever you take your phone which is convenient.
The sleep data is pretty interesting too! I’ve never been able to track my sleep but it’ll be interesting to see how it tracks it over time.

Would definitely recommend!

2024-05-10

I love using this app! I have a hard time waking up to alarms but I also really don't like the sudden jolt awake with loud alarms, so I love that Sleepwave has gentle wake alarms that start soft and get louder and I variety of sound options for it. I also love the sleep sound timer for when I'm falling asleep. I've been using Sleepwave for months and would highly recommend it to anyone. It has a really peaceful design and I enjoy setting my alarm right before I go to bed! Just make sure your phone is at a high power or charging while you sleep otherwise Sleepwave might use all your battery and then the alarm won't go off.

Waking up super refreshed!

2024-05-10

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is. It’s only natural to be speculative about an alarm app since there’s literally dozens of them doing the same thing, waking you up.

Here’s the thing, it uses natural sounds like waves crashing on the shore, construction outside, birds chirping in the morning. I actually thought the birds were rather lively that morning, but no! The after effects of not waking up to a ear deafening alarm surprised me. I didn’t wake up in a panic, disoriented, and angry. For once..I woke up happy, neutral even. I didn’t know that was even possible l. 5/5

How great this app is!

2024-04-12

What I personally think about Sleepwave is that you can do meditations you could do a check my mood journal well, it’s a personal journal and you can do like slimes and like today’s inspiration to get really relaxed like if you’re feeling really anxious or sad or any kind of not happy feeling or even if you’re feeling happy, you can just write this down in your journal that’s on Sleepwave. It’s a great way to help your kids get better sleep if they don’t have the best sleep like I do, and even you grown-ups I mean I’m not a grown-up and I guess not that much sleep but when I fall asleep it’s so hard for me to be woken up. I bet some of you are like that. I would say more, but. It’s sold that so I’m gonna write. Hope you enjoy this and it’s really helpful and that helps you! 🙏🏿👌👍✌️🥹😎🤫🤗

Great for heavy sleepers

2024-04-22

I have only used Sleepwave for 5 days, however I am a HEAVY sleeper and tend to wake up groggy and tired when I do manage to wake up to an alarm. I have tried extremely loud alarms to extremely annoying ones and anything in between as I struggle to wake up with my alarm. Sleep wave has woken me up for 5 days straight and that almost feels like a miracle at this point, I don’t wake up feeling near as tired as I usually do and I like the feature that allows me to see just how much rest I am getting because it helps me learn more about my sleep patterns and what works best for me. If you struggle to get up on time I 100% recommend Sleepwave

Better sleep, more consistent wake-ups

2024-04-12

I’ve tried a dozen apps and those fancy alarms with the morning light and vibration. This works better! This is the best alarm app I’ve found. I’ve been using the basic, free version for a week and I love everything about it. I set the range for my wake-up time (5:00-5:30) and then I put my phone next to my bed. In the morning, the alarm sounds are persistent but not annoying and the alarm screen requires just enough precision that I can’t swipe it off without actually waking up. Plus, I have a report on my sleep quality for the whole night. I have two small kids, a full time job, and a side hustle, so I’m exhausted and I definitely need more sleep than I am getting. I have serious difficulty waking up in the morning, but this does the trick! I’m sold. This is the best alarm app.

Amazing, and has the potential to be even cooler

2024-04-12

Sleepwave is exactly what I was look for for gentle awakening. From the first time I tried it, waking up was significantly less painful that it usually is. It will never make you feel like you are jolted awake by a sudden alarm. The technology for sleep cycle tracking is amazing. I think it would be cool to add a customizable gentle awakening choice. Also, this technology is very promising for those who want to lucid dream - If there was a way to play custom sounds or music when Sleepwave detects your in your REM stage, it could reach a whole new market

Sleepwave Review

2024-04-12

After just five nights of using Sleepwave, the first time in the twenty years i've been alive, I don't wake up feeling gunky, not well rested, or just so sleepy I unconsciously keep hitting the snooze.

Yes I've hit the snooze on Sleepwave, but it's great because I'm actually aware of myself doing it!

That means Sleepwave is able to pull me out of my sleep at the right moment gently enough to get me conscious.
Even after a few hours of sleep, while tired, I was still able to function after waking up to Sleepwave.
(let's not forget to mention I have literally slept like a brick my whole life, my family constantly says I would sleep through a tornado or hurricane.)

I have hopes that I will be able to afford Sleepwave after the free trial till january is up, this app really is a life saver.

Truly, thank you this app ^.^

I would've written a longer review but it's my bedtime haha! I guess Sleepwave helps yourself stay accountable and disciplined too!

Literally the best

2024-02-24

It’s been a total game changer setting an alarm to “gentle awakening”! I don’t remember how much I paid or currently pay, I don’t care. It’s been 100% worth it for that reason alone. Tracking the details of my sleep cycle is just the cherry on top. As perfect as Sleepwave is, there is one weird thing that has happened a few times however, and that’s my alarm not going off. It may be a glitch? I hope they fix it because I can’t really afford to not wake up for work. Anyway, enjoy!

Very nice app!

2024-01-11

I really like it because I can just have my sleep be monitored without having to set up an alarm. Plus it really works for me when waking me up. It’s nice to see the amount of time I slept and when I woke up in the middle of the night, as that happens very frequently. I really like Sleepwave and wish I could pay for the membership, however unfortunately that is not possible with my current financial situation and circumstances. But I really like it and highly recommend it to anyone!!!

Love it, but wish it had more

2024-08-22

Sleepwave is really great with the smart alarm to wake you in light sleep. Really helps me get up since Im a stubborn sleeper. I really wish they had the ability to set an alarm on the watch or phone app and have the same alarm set on the other device. Also having the alarm keep repeating until you turn it off please. Last small gripe is the alarms on the watch are showing on a 24hr clock; I wish it was in 12hr am/pm format like on Sleepwave .

The big disappointment is not having the synced alarm across the devices when setting an alarm on one, but its not fair to give a poor rating for that IMO

Impressive so far!

2024-08-26

I’ve been using Sleepwave for about 3 months now. Previous alarm used for years stopped working with one of the iOS updates. Tried one called morning, they changed the name to night and with the change it went majorly downhill. This one has been absolutely great so far. Really hope it stays that way. Seems to work well with all the challenges iPhones present. Looking forward to many years of use, and upgrading to premium if it stays consistently reliable. Like the graphs and being able to see how well I am sleeping different nights so I can make adjustments and get better/even amounts of sleep. Feeling better rested so far!!

Sleepwave review

2024-08-26

Sleepwave is amazing. Sleepwave is such a calming experience when you fall asleep when you wake up you just hear a nice calming alarm that doesn’t go ding, ding, ding ding so loud. It’s just a soft nice experience when you’re asleep and best of all you don’t have to pay anything to even use Sleepwave I mean yeah you can use Sleepwave with money and that’s all like the extra sounds but the three alarms provided to you are so good. I recommend Sleepwave to anybody that is looking for a nice calming alarm clock. It also tracks your sleep which is so nice so you can see how much you’re sleeping every day.

Ah-mazing

2026-04-21

I never thought that an app for an alarm could be this interesting and also calming at the same time. The wave sound feature is AMAZING. I can not wait to see what the future holds for Sleepwave. Thanks for making such an awesome product. Come January, my birthday month, I’ll be buying an entire year from you.

I have insomnia. I could never find an app that I could just try to see if it worked for me. So very hopeful that Sleepwave works (I truly believe it will 💜🙌)

Magic

2026-05-23

I always thought I needed an alarm that would be so loud it scared me awake, when really I just get accustomed to those and snooze and snooze. This alarm is like magic. It totally eases you out of sleep so you don’t even need to push snooze cause you are awake enough to where there is no point. I also love that the waking you up part is random sounds. So you can’t get used to it. Also, because it eases me into being awake, I actually feel so much more awake cause I was not interrupted abruptly during a deep sleep. Thank you ♥️

Better than Apple built-in solution

2026-06-23

I was using the Apple wake up alarm but the alarms are so obnoxious that I’d wake up every morning a little angry at having to hear that.

Initially got this because of the emphasis on less aggravating alarms but the gentle awakening setting has been even better. The detailed statistics have helped me identify which parts of sleep cycle contribute most to a good or bad might of sleep.

Started on the free trial and bought Sleepwave before the 7 days was up. This is a truly great app

So Far It’s Amazing!

2026-07-25

Using for over a week and It knows exactly when to wake up up so you don’t feel groggy! I was slugging though my days and now I much more alert for my 6:30am Scrum call, which as a night owl is a game changer!

One recommendation- I would love for the nighttime music to have binaural beats options or something for the whole night for noisy bar going neighbors coming home at 3am. the white noise for a few min is fine, but sometimes a sound based sleep aid would be helpful!

2026-08-25

Sleepwave sounds help me sleep and wake up very well, however I am not comfortable having a cell phone so close to my head all night, as I don’t even carry a phone on my person because of possible radiation. My solution is to place the phone in a partially open drawer in my nightstand. I am not interested in the motion feature because a past surgery causes me to toss and turn anyway. It’s a lovely invention for people who don’t mind having a cell phone on their person.

Great alarm feature

2026-09-29

I read somewhere that your alarm clock triggers your flight and flight response. Which makes sense because in the wild you’d wake up to the sound of nature. When you hear an alarm go off, you’re kind of tricking your body into thinking you’re in danger everyday, which is a jarring way to start off the day. That’s no way to live your life. The gentle alarm setting has really improved my quality of sleep. I don’t wake up sleepy somehow.
