I love this app

I love NYCCOVIDSAFE because it’s makes it very easy
to be able to show your vaccination card and id though one app when you go to places that you need your proof of vaccination and id to enter since most places now days require your proof of vaccination everyway you go nowadays without having to show your vaccination card on a different app and then having to look for my id to show along with my vaccination card. I will definitely recommend NYCCOVIDSAFE to all my friends that I have that are on already useing NYCCOVIDSAFE to store your vaccination card on NYCCOVIDSAFE.

An App that’s useful

I down loaded NYCCOVIDSAFE, after using the NYS app. All the info you need to show someone is in one place and is easy to read and can be updated with boosters and negative Covid test results.
Carrying a large paper card that looks dog-eared in no time is useless. Couldn't they have made it credit card sized and a little more durable. This is a critical piece of personal info that has to be taken out of your wallet, like a drivers license.

Great App!

NYCCOVIDSAFE made our trip SO easy. We were in the city for the weekend with four kids (two ours and two friends). We went to a Broadway show and out to restaurants. NYCCOVIDSAFE made it all so easy! I’d uploaded everyone’s vaccine cards. Clearly businesses know NYCCOVIDSAFE , and it made vaccine verification so simple.

Great that it exists but seems limited value

I love that this exists but I can get the same functionality out of my phones “photos” app. I would prefer that there is some kind of verification or review of the CDC card. Also the date of final vaccinations start December 14 and as a part of clinical trials there are a few thousand people in nyc(including me) that had their final doses as early as August 2020.

Vaccine Trials - Does Not Allow Dates Pre Dec 2020

I was in the vaccine trials. In January 2021, I asked to be unblinded from the study. Doctors confirmed I received the vaccine - not the placebo. I have been fully vaxed since October 2020. I cannot I put this date into NYCCOVIDSAFE . Also, my card is two- sided. My name is on one side and my vaccine info on the other. Can app developers address this issue ?

Pointless

There is ZERO point to having NYCCOVIDSAFE. All it does is let you add a photo of your vaccine card or recent test. There’s no verification, making this a glorified version of the photos app on your phone. Just save the pic to your favorites so you can find it easily and be done with it. I only bumped it from one star to two stars because the pointless feature actually worked.

Suggestion

For us parents add a part to add students ID or photo of the child of not school age plus there vaccine cards for multiple children.

Maybe even a spot for the wife who needs to carry the husbands because he always forgets lol

Inadequate for a Global Centrr

I received my vaccination in a clinical trial for a vaccine that is approved by the World Health Organization (and therefore eligible for a CDC vaccination card), but that does not yet have an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food & Drug Administration. NYCCOVIDSAFE, however, requires specifically selecting the vaccine from a pull-down menu that only lists the vaccines that already have an EUA. Thus, for example, it cannot be used by a British resident who received the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Nice app, room for improvement.

NYCCOVIDSAFE is very simple to use basic and does the job however it would be nice if it would include loading these documents into your wallet so everything’s in one place.

One more step towards a safer community

True, there is no legal consequences for uploading fraudulent documentation but it is at least one step towards steering our society to become a safer one, for the benefit of everybody. I think it is a useful app. Very easy to use.

While I applaud the intent, the execution is poor

I applaud NYC’s move to require proof of vaccination for certain indoor activities. However, NYCCOVIDSAFE does nothing to verify the authenticity of a document uploaded. Unlike the Excelsior app, this does not check with the state database. I’m not sure how to fix that issue to account for tourists from states that don’t offer vaccine passports, but hopefully until city will figure that out.

Please add option for 2nd photo

Love NYCCOVIDSAFE - it’s simple and does the job. One suggested improvement - some venues require proof of booster. That proof was put on the back of my vax card. I’d like to be able to upload two pics of my vax card to NYCCOVIDSAFE for this purpose.

Convenient

I don’t know what people expect but NYCCOVIDSAFE does what it’s supposed to do. It stores your Covid-19 info in an app so that it’s conveniently located & can be quickly accessed. I find it to be perfect for my needs.

By

Glorified camera app with no record validation

Unlike the Excelsior Pass, NYCCOVIDSAFE does nothing to actually verify vaccination or testing records. You can Google how people uploaded photos of menus (or even their cat) and NYCCOVIDSAFE recognized it as “valid” proof of immunization. What an unfortunate use of taxpayer dollars to release an app that provides a false sense of security and no benefit over using the stock Camera app that comes with every iOS device.

Good for out of state vax

I got vaxxed out of state so my info is not in the NYS system, therefore I can’t use excelsior pass. NYCCOVIDSAFE is super easy to use and now I don’t need to carry around my card!

By

It’s a start! Let’s stay as safe as possible!

I don’t want to lose my card. I’ve had problems with the Excelsior NY state app. And while NYCCOVIDSAFE isn’t fool proof, it’s a start. Get vaccinated people!

Outside of NY

I live in FL and since my state leaders don’t care about Covid-19 I am using NYCCOVIDSAFE to make my vaccine card look a little more official for when I travel outside the U.S.

So stupid

This is a really dumb use of taxpayer money (about $17mm, I read?), space on my phone, and everyone’s time. It just lets you upload pictures onto a… new app that also shows those pictures. It is actually a joke— why not just show people the original pictures? So unnecessary— thanks, government! One more stupid, pointless rule I have to follow!

Date function on vaccine tab not working

I tried to enter the date of my second shot and though I could change the month, it always reverted back to “today’s date”.

By

Add 3rd dose section as optional

1) Add 3rd dose section as optional for those having received their Booster Shots

2) Also allow 1st / 2nd dose dates to be September-October 2020 (many of us were in the Moderna or Pfizer clinical trials, and mid-December 2020 is the earliest date we can choose as our 2nd dose).

Trash

This is trash. The excelsior wallet was able to gather my info and create a digital pass. I can just take a photo of my vaccine card or any vaccine card and use it. Also why do you need a copy of my ID. Total trash.
