I wanted to love FlyFin but it seemed too good to be true . I downloaded FlyFin at the end of February and was able to upload my banking info . One of my banks did not sync its transactions well , after reaching out to this app they did tell me I could submit a csv file and they would upload it on their end , it took about a good week to get that done . Fast forward to having all of my documents submitted for tax filing on 3/4, I’ve yet to receive a response from anyone as to how long the process will take. It’s going to be about a month now since I’ve submitted documents .the last time I emailed them was 3/22 and I’ve yet to receive a reply to the one pending question I’ve asked over and over and over …. “how long does the tax filing process take ?” . I feel I am a fairly patient person , I understand it is tax season , but at least answer my question and give me a time frame . At this point I am thinking they have all my personal information and I’m an idiot for trusting them😭. Poor customer service , there is no phone number to speak to anyone , just a form to submit or an email to send . Would I recommend FlyFin? As of today not for any tax filing purposes . So beyond upset with this company 😞.

Downloading FlyFin was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Signed up for an account with my email. Used FlyFin for five minutes, wasn’t impressed and deleted. However, immediately after signing up for an account, my inbox has been inundated with spam. I had to change the settings for my email to turn the spam filter on high and it still doesn’t catch everything. I get about 4-5 emails that come through a day that are spam. I just went and looked at my spam folder. Yesterday alone 14 of them were sent to spam. I know it’s from the same sender because all of them have leet speak text and use letters with accents rather than the correct text. Perhaps a trick to bypass spam filters, I don’t know. DO NOT DOWNLOAD.

I really want to like this app. Overall the idea and execution have been excellent.

I subscribed back in January. I felt 1 week wasn’t that long of a trial. But I had high hopes.

Now I feel like a paid for a beta version. The date format isn’t adjustable - the in app selector is dd/mm/yyyy which takes some getting used to. And for some reason lots of my expenses auto fill the date for the wrong date. Lots of places in FlyFin don’t use iOS spell check and I have to proofread a lot more - this isn’t what I need from an app that’s supposed to save me time. Some of my accounts don’t sync - but that’s not necessarily on this app.

I have run into problems though with the account syncing - a credit card that I use daily stopped syncing a month ago. I’ve reached out to support and I haven’t gotten any response. This isn’t the first time - most of my emails to this app directly go unanswered. When I reach out via the CPA feature, I always hear back.

I’ll update my review if things get better.
But right now I’m really hoping my tax return in April is worth the $190 I paid. Tax prep is going to have to be beyond amazing to make up for all the little issues I’ve had. Right now this app is just barely better than my other accounting solutions.

The good thing is about FlyFin is that the CPA's are timely and very prompt of getting your taxes squared away. FlyFin is interactive, very affordable, and it makes bookkeeping like tinder.

The bad thing about FlyFin Is that it does not have a web portal version (which Keeper wins in this category for having) forcing me to resort to using my Mac Mini to have a bigger screen to work with (yes FlyFin is mac app store emulated). It also can use a facelift. I've been using FlyFin for about three years and its dark UX is dingy to me.

The this app App and Team have proven to be invaluable to me. FlyFin has made identifying and classifying deductions a breeze. Setting aside just 15 minutes once a week to review and classify my expenses gives me peace of mind that I am properly planning for my quarterly tax bills. And if I have any questions, I know I can reach the team via FlyFin and they are quick to answer. And if it’s an issue that can’t be handled within FlyFin , they have been generous enough to schedule time to discuss via a call. I am definitely upgrading to their top product as I know they will be responsive and helpful anytime I need to jump on a call to discuss an issue. They were a god send the night before 2023 Q4 taxes were due when I realized just two hours before the deadline that I may have underpaid. They were quick to help me double check after sending an email at 9pm and made sure I had all the information I needed and double checked everything so I could feel confident with my tax liability amount given the changes to the penalties and fees for 2024. My CPA team has been the very best, I say this to express my experience, which has been great!! They are very supportive, friendly and super committed to helping you succeed in your business or personal tax needs. When it comes down to tax knowledge, they are very experienced and above all down to earth to deal with. As for FlyFin , it is very useful and easy to navigate. At first I was hesitant to use a tax preparation service that’s “newer” and uses AI to track deductions etc. To my surprise, it’s a totally legit company/app and made my life soo much easier and helped me truly understand my tax situation in a lot greater detail. I used turbo tax in the past and ended up paying way more than I had to and being very confused. Having a CPA to ask questions to every step of the way is also super reassuring. I will be using their service moving forward as long as I am a self employed entrepreneur. Thank you!

Had a great experience with this app! After the first return I figure it all out on how it all works made some mistakes on my side of figuring out some part of it but the team at this app were great to work with to correct my errors and were so fast to get the returns done. I’m looking forward to the doing the next return now that I got the hang of it! It’s at a good price point if it was higher I’m not sure If I would still be going through FlyFin but if they keep it around this price point will stay with this app.

Best quality tax filing service for 1099 workers. I have never had a better tax service than FlyFin and it really helps since I work 5-6 different 1099 incomes. FlyFin is seamless and allows upload of documents, even if there is an issue you reach out and customer service gets back to you immediately with a live representative response. They also found deductions for me and did many things without asking. I have been using this service for 2 years now looking forward to year 3

This is my first time filling with this app for my company. It was such an amazing and easy experience. It easy to adjust and file when everything is explained step by step. The most important and satisfying part of filing was our CPA Varsha. I had many questions about the process and she was responsive and it didn’t feel robotic like I’ve experienced in the past with other tax filing sites. I was talking to an actual person! I highly recommend if you have a small business or just starting your business. It was quick and super easy to follow!

I’m giving five stars because after a lot of research I think this might be the best product out there for solopreneurs. Doesn’t integrate with Apple Card (which is a bummer) but does with Chase, Amex,and maybe USAA? The AI function is pretty legit and will save you time! Would ideally LOVE integration of receipts/notes to also function as an archive for a potential audit (in fact, if they had this function I’d pay for the premium service for sure). Trial run is well worth it and gives you a holistic experience. Definitely try it.

- UPDATE: if you use Apple Card you can send them your bank statements and they’ll upload them for you!

As a first time 1099 worker, I was terrified I was going to do everything wrong. Varsha was there to help me every step of the way. The features of FlyFin in addition to the help of my CPA made everything so easy. I would take a moment every week to sort through my expenses and claim anything for work, ensure I was utilizing all the benefits available to me, and confirming that I was going on the right path with Varsha. The filing and payment of my taxes took less than an hour once all my documents were in order. Worth every penny if you are a person who works as a contractor.

Their CPA’s are just as good and better than any local CPA in your city. They truly work for you and not the IRS, and you will not overpay in taxes.

I had a seamless experience preparing my taxes this year and will never use a local CPA again. By the way your tax preparation is included with the subscription price. So you won’t pay an additional fee to a CPA to prepare your return at the end of the year .

I unfortunately learned that my taxes were late being filed this year and once I reached out to a this app CPA, everything went so smoothly considering how anxious I was about the whole process. They communicated with me through FlyFin and email to make sure everything got done in a timely manner, set up extra calls to ensure we had everything we needed and they understood all the documents I uploaded. I cannot recommend them enough. Once it was all said and done, the signature process was super easy and straight forward and now I’m just sitting back waiting on my tax returns! I am so glad I found this app (and my CPA Varsha)!

I opened my LLC in January of 2023 and I had so many expenses and income transactions to add up that I had started doing it manually. What a headache! Then one day, Instagram recommend this app. After following the account for a while, I decided to give it a try.

WHAT A GAME CHANGER! I finally can understand (a lil bit) what’s going on! I love the ability to connect my bank accounts so AI can pull information directly and I only have to “swipe” whether is a deduction or not, income or not etc! I am also able to add things manually when needed, calculate my quarterly taxes, see my flow, I mean WOW.

However, what makes this app a TOP service is the fact that I can actually interact with real humans at any time (like Contact CPAs via FlyFin if I have doubts on how to classify expenses etc and even set up Virtual meetings on Google Meet!). This is all to say that although AI is effective it will never replace human interaction!

I am so grateful to Varsha and I truly would not have survived my first tax season as a business owner without her.

I absolutely love the combination of AI and real human service on this platform. The AI helps me stay organized throughout the year and categorize my expenses and income, while a real person will sit down with me over a call to answer my more nuanced questions, ask me questions in return to make sure they have all the correct info, and file my tax return for me.

Throughout the process of filing my tax return this year, my CPA was on top of it, made things so simple for me, and organized everything on an excel sheet so I could understand what was going on better. At the end of it, I was blown away with all the deductions they were able to find for me. Running a small boutique, I was pleasantly surprised by the AI's ability to point out deductions I hadn't considered before. Setting up FlyFin was fun; it asks you a bunch of questions before their AI takes over. It got some of them dead on, and for the ones I needed clarification on, I fired off a few CPA questions. The support team was polite with their responses, usually getting back to me within a few hours. I kinda look forward to doing these deduction reviews every weekend. I know that's weird, but it's great for my OCD! :p
