TrueLane thinks I have driven when I and my phone are being driven in the cars of others. It reports that I have driven more than twice the miles that I actually have. My car does not leave the garage for days, yet TrueLane assumes I have driven everywhere my phone has gone. The App tells me to keep the GPS "always" on.
My True Lane said "Houston, we have a problem." I click on fix the problem, and then try "to open", but nothing happened.
Copy of E-mail just sent to True Lane. Their Website Chat seems dicey - keeps timing out. Monday Jan 23, 2024. This is complicated, and I have just (by now about an hour ago – it takes a while to write this all out) completed a long in-person chat with a very patient and pleasant person who tells me I am in a “no exit” situation. I joined AARP Hartford (and signed on to True Lane) in July. A month or so in I started having trouble with True Lane: I was greatly disconcerted about the “Always” tracking business, I think I changed some box from “Always” to “Only When in Use” and indicted I wanted to withdraw from True Lane, I was also irritated by the App notices of Speeding – which all must have been on Lake Shore Drive where the speed limit is 45 MPH – but in evening hours when traffic is not heavy the traffic flow certainly goes at 60 – thus to go with the flow it’s easy to get up to 60. And at 45 cars go zooming around you as a pokey, overly cautious travel hazard. (I also left several messages about my concerns with a True Lane Rep [whose business I think was to discuss specific problems – e.g., True Lane data calculations] who never returned my calls: Nov. 5, 6, 7 at 210-593-4704 – verified on my iPhone) I did talk to other people at True Lane Help after looking at the contents of the App in more detail and told them on at least 2 occasions that I DID WANT TO REMAIN on TRUE LANE. And I was multiple times reassured that I was still “ON”, and was doing fine. (TRUE LANE: 1-800-300-6449 to someone named Doug on 11/04/24 – but several other conversations as well). And True Lane continued to record my trips – with trip evaluations (most recently Thursday 12/19/24) that were all consistently 5 stars in all categories – 100% of trips with no distractions, many consecutive trips with no speeding, no braking issues, etc., etc – all of the categories). I also recall a very recent text message (within the last 2 weeks) from True Lane again asking me to reiterate the “always” setting on the app – and I re-checked the “always” box. So a huge surprise: today I logged into Hartford Auto to renew and pay for my policy and was appalled to see the cost having risen from $630 to $796 – and an indication on my bill that the increase was tied to my NOT being enrolled in True Lane. I immediately went to the Chat line at Hartford Auto and, as part of that live phone conversation, looked at the True Lane app on my phone to discover that all of the data was suddenly missing – which I know was there last Thurs (12/19/24). The person (who was very pleasant and patient) that I talked with indicated that the missing data was just gone and could not be reinstated. Just a done deal. I think it’s mild to say that I’m beside myself. No recourse? At this point I am not as concerned about the $166 increase on my bill as I am about the complete snarl with True Lane and the loss of 5 months of data. As a matter of note, I DO have a long SMS thread of Text Messages on my iPhone -- back and forth with True Lane (323-772-5560) dating from June 28, 2024 until today. Several of these include long help messages indicating that I thought my problems with the app were “fixed” – tho no one every replied to my replies. HELP
On November 30, trip 10:05 to 10:14 and 11:03 t0 11:11 i was driving through construction sites.so the overall trip score for these 2trips was a red star for braking. Please do not use these 2 trips for evaluation. I used to be able to see my daily score which was usually in the mid 80’s. All of a sudden it is telling me my score is in the mid 40’s and my driving habits haven’t changed. Is there something wrong with the True Lane app?
Why did my score drop from 96 yesterday to 64 today. All my recent have been perfect.
There is nothing wrong with my android phone, so why am I unable to download the truelane app?
I was not aware that it would use so much data . I used for all trips most less tan 10 miles from home. I do not use the phone for phone calls so all the data used is for the driving app truelane. My bill was 30 dollars more and was unexpected. said i used 37.82 mb of data this was all from the app as i have no made any phone calls out side of the home. So to save 33 dollars on my car insurance for the year I am expected to pay $360 a year or more to use the app. Some thing is wrong with this. I called my wireless phone company when i got my Bill to see why it was $46.** when for two years it has always been just $16.** I figured the only change was I had added the truelane app to my phone. Is there something wrong with the app?
truelane stopped working. now asks me to enter my mobile number, but when I do, it doesn't recognize me. I am not going to pay some tech co to fix your problem.

Switched back to iphone and truelane will not load. Have had nothing but trouble with this junk app. Keep getting a "you must have a working network connection in order to register" I'm DON TRYING
Who to contact to change my phone number. Unable to log into truelane Ap on my new phone.
Five days ago, app said I was distracted 4 times, while entering my own driveway. Two days ago, tagged 2 times, again entering my driveway. The roads in SC are the worst in the country. Go over a pot hole, or cross railroad tracks, and get tagged for heavy breaking. Why does this app make so many errors? I should have received a larger renewal discount if not for all the errors. Would like an explanation on how the app determines when I was speeding, heavy breaking, or distracted.
They told me at the Hartford that my phone would work. As usual they lied like a rug. Then they said go to the phone store and try out phones by downloading true lane like the store was going to let me do that. This was their tech support that told me to do that. Then they tell me you must have a phone under 5 years old and software at least above. 9.0 . I ask them what phone works with truelane answer that gave me was hit and miss with phones some work some don't. They are a SCAM company.
I want to opt out of TruLane. Our policy has not started, but the reported hassles and privacy concerns leave us no choice.
well...got my discount from TlrueLane..'ZERO'...after 180. days of getting constantly 'dinged' for breaking over 10 mph in ONE SECOND! I've timed it...that's a panic stop, which i have hardly ever done, I drive in the city, and sometimes have to break hard...but not that hard! TL used to give start/stop adresses. They don't anymore...mostly wrong anyway. Biggest problem...can't correct a mistake on who was driving. Latest was Oct 11...wife driving on I-44 [can't go 70 mph or you'll get run over] I accidantly said I was driving...got dinged 6 times for speeding, etc. not alowed to change it. Had a few more of these I couldn't correct also. I give TrueLane a big ZERO...seems just designed to make sure you don't get a discount on your auto insurance renewal.
Has me speeding on a 35 mph road because they say it is 25 mph road. They need to check the software and remove the error.
This app is an absolute POS. Constantly getting my start/stop locations wrong, failing to log travels. Just tonight, it gave me a breaking error of 1-second duration (going 1E+1 -> 1). WTH does that mean. Reality is, I did not have any events. There was no traffic or animals on the road at all - only me and it was a 4 minute trip around the corner. I absolutely HATE this app for its inaccuracies. I have 2 months to go - not sure if I can put up with this junk any longer. Will call (and be on the incessant hold) tomorrow to find out what it says I did - which, again, I did not. This is stupid!

I have now tried to reach TrueLane tech support 3 times. I waited yesterday, on hold, for 30 minutes only to be disconnected by you. I have now left 2 messages with no return phone call!! This is more than frustrating. My phone (317 373-4040) was working, with the TrueLane app, until I tried to reach you and now it is having the same issue as my husband’s phone (317 373-4044). We can’t seem to open the app on either phone. Considering we've been using the app for 5 months and now having issues, is totally unacceptable.
True Lane has not been working for a week now. When I tap the icon on my Iphone, the screen opens with a white screen with a buck on it & the words "True Lane from the Hartford". Then it drops out after 10 seconds. I cannot enter my mileage information because the program does not open. Thanks

Each time I reset my phone, I lose my Tru Lane screen. The “Motion and Fitness” and “Always” is on, but that notification keeps reappearing.
