I am disappointed in Expand, I was hoping to like the free version enough to purchase and have access to even better meditations, but the free meditations are quite low quality and unenjoyable. Some of the free meditations don’t match the description, like “The Gift” should just be taken off Expand entirely. It’s such a waste of time to think you’re getting something and you quite literally get nothing, like with that particular meditation, which describes water birds and does absolutely nothing else as it’s description says.

Overall I’m disappointed in the lack of quality, especially for The Monroe Institute.

Lastly, healing meditations should be free. The vast majority of theirs are not. When you think of this Universe and how love is what we aim to evolve into, forcing sick people to pay for every little thing to help increase their health since they are so desperate to heal, isn’t ethical. That doesn’t improve consciousness and evolution. There must be a balance and if there isn’t, it’s a red flag.

Expand does not offer what they made it seem like they were offering. The claim was that you could work on their programs through access with Expand. But nope. Expand is just filled with stuff that seems like it was quickly thrown together to fill an app. None of bobs original stuff is here only things like “ meditate while you take a 5 minute walk” or “ feel the sunshine warmth (sic)”. This is such a massive disappointment but im glad they only got me for ten bucks. Obviously they still want the hundreds per tape to purchase those and the thousands per session to go there. Expand is just a joke. So if youre interested in the real stuff. Expand is not it.

Excellent technology however most of the voices used for the guided meditations are not relaxing for meditation . Just because they are officers of n the organization does not justly using their voices . I would highly recommend this to my patients if you used professional meditative voices that are calming and use hypnotic inductions . Also eliminate negative words from the grammar. The voices and words should be soft , melodic , and calming vs harsh , sharp and abrupt . This has been mentioned by many others in the comments.

I am a fan of the original Monroe Institute hemi-sync tech. I have several of their products. I expected more from Expand. Only some have the Monroe sound. There is no way to filter the available recordings. If there is a five star one I haven’t found it. They all seem to be four stars which can’t be possible. The most recent one I sampled was AWFUL! Horrible guide, only a few minutes of music the rest of the time it was just silent, so when the guide’s voice sounded it startled me a couple of times. Not relaxing or helpful. Expand is four years old and it is this bad? I even paid for premium but doubt I will keep it. It certainly isn’t worth the price,

The update to fix the bugs has made Expand crash repeatedly on all of my devices,not just one. I really liked Expand but I had to delete it. I tried to add it back but as soon as I open it,Expand closes itself. Tried to click on the support button but it takes me to a page you cant talk to. I will miss you. Stop fixing what wasnt broken.

I have used several mediation apps in the past but this is the only one I have felt compelled to write a review on. The sounds and voice guidance is unlike anything I have tried before and can very quickly put me into a relaxed state that allows me to integrate the positive affirmations and guidance. I am very pleased with the purchase and excited for future meditations. Thank you!

I have been using meditation apps for about 6 years, and have given a shot to every one I’ve come across. Unlike many of the Silicon Valley driven, corporate “mindfulness” apps, this dives deeper into spirit, meaning, and purpose (it is TMI after all!). I’ve happily subscribed to a full year already.

I wish Expand were free because I want to share it with the world. The evidence for the techniques used are obvious right away…. But after a week, when you begin to realize a change in your sense of inner calmness, then you know there is something beautiful happening here. Very grateful !

After update, I was logged out. I emailed the address listed on the contact us page on the Monroe Institute website. I received a response within a few hours with easy to follow directions for reinstating my subscription.

Over the year I’ve tried out several meditation apps. this app is by far the best! It’s many guided meditations include brain entrainment frequencies from the Monroe Institute that get you quickly in a very deep Zen state of consciousness where you can release stress, solve problems, obtain guidance, sleep better and have amazing spiritual journeys.

very excited about Expand ! Paid for the subscription. But when I try to open any of the meditations it says that I need the subscription. I click on that notification and it says that I have already paid! Cannot get to the meditations. Very frustrating.

Addendum: I was contacted by the Institute and the issue was handled very quickly. Love Expand !!

I have used the calm app and others similar but not gotten much value out of it. I am a fan of guided meditations but do also like the options for directed sound “free range” meditations. I decided to use the trial period to explore multiple meditation modes and really loved the different feelings invoked for healing vs creativity vs beyond the physical. I feel this is helping me break down my fear of the unknown and get in touch with the real me. Expand has been worth every penny so far. My only wish is that the Monroe Institute add more guided meditations. I do mix them up and I’m at about 1 hour of meditation a day which has enhanced my quality of life significantly. As a result of Expand I decided to read Robert Monroe’s books which further opened my eyes to the infinite. I cannot express my gratitude to the Institute for making this technology and methodology available without having to go to the institute itself. This is a small monetary price to pay for the peace of mind I have received from this application.

I have been a fan of Robert Monroe and his institute since late last year I came across his books. Expand is very well designed! I really like the fact that after you are done with your meditation you are encouraged to journal any experiences. My only complaint would be that so far it’s a bit limited in the amount of available catalog, otherwise everything is awesome!

Expand is worth its purpose and value. Navigating it was a little tricky at first but it has the functions necessary to find and save the preferred content. So many sources for similar content are available but I have loved what the Monroe Institute was offered even before Expand was released. Only minor nuisance is after listening to a program and returning to Expand , the screen is shaky, sometimes needing to be relaunched. Other than that, no problems. A great aid for daily enlightenment and relaxation.

I’ve used raw binaural beats for some time before deciding why not just try the originator of the gateway method. It’s 70$.
Started having some profound experiences bordering on odd. Bilocation was pretty neat I sat at a pond near my childhood home and walked back home. People there and everything! What? Although Your results May vary! I think it’s based upon your level of interest ,time spent using the method ,and openness to the idea you are WAY more than you body. I’ve heard there’s a certain level of aptitude involved as well. So do you have anything to lose other than illusion? What can be gained?

Expand is truly exceptional. I have been using it every single day for more than two months and it’s so amazing the amount of benefits I have experienced. The track that I use every day is called “Resonant Tuning”….and with this I have begun to have medium/spirit visitations. I have reconnected with family members, my middle school music teacher who transitioned more than 15 years ago, angels, and students I taught. I can’t wait for a longer version of resonant tuning to be introduced because it’s truly unbelievable how my energy levels are and how it’s expanding my intuitive abilities.

I saw another reviewer deleted Expand when encountering this error. I understand their frustration because nowhere before creating an account does it warn about this. Basically, app gets a download and registration and THEN we are told to provide more information. Common scam as far as apps go. I also saw the support response about support etc. Maybe a fair compromise would be more communication with the user regarding problems with the Apple hidden email?

Fortunately I was able to c/p the same email and it let me through.

I have been using binaural beats technology since 1996, after my first visit the the Monroe Institute and their famous sensory isolation chamber. My experience in that chamber was so unique that I purchased all the available materials and used them to practice. Over the years I narrowed does my use to 5 or 6 tracks on a regular basis, to good effects.
With Expand and its ability to custom design your own sessions, I’ve been encouraged to explore more.
This technology complements my Buddhist practice quite well, to get in touch with Inner Peace, calm the chattering mind, connect with repressed feelings…. Highly recommended for anyone on a Spiritual Path.

I have been to the Monroe Institute several times, and the experiences there are very deep, however I do really gain much benefit from the guided meditations on Expand, and very often use the Focus "signals" for returning to sleep, or inner exploration of different kinds (such as patterning my future experiences, connecting with spiritual guidance and beings) I think it's well worth it for $70 a year, but because I am familiar in many ways with Monroe I am really able to appreciate it. Their courses have been invaluable for me to enjoy my life in so many ways. Now they are offered online as well. The teachers are amazing and give over 100%

I’ve been a Monroe Institute enthusiast for a little over a year now. I’ve done the first few sessions of their Gateway Experience which was so incredible I had to stop temporarily to figure out how to best step into myself. I was skeptical about Expand for some reason but - if you are ever so slightly inclined, curious, want answers to questions you don’t even know yet - get it. Listen every night. Listen in the mornings. Watch the magic unfold.
