Waste of time

Doesn’t work. Won’t upload all the receipt nor does it send/share the PDF file you create. Preview shows nothing but a blank white page and then gives me an error message every time. Do not waste your money or time on ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses! Just go buy an actual scanner/printer.

Not reliable

ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses experiences issues with receipts.
If a report needs to be created or updated then you are at the mercy of it working right that moment.
Customer service only tells you issues will be fixed but don’t tell you when.
I’ve had to request extensions at work to make sure I can gather all receipts and offer reports

Not great. Disappointed.

The number are consistently wrong and sometimes the currency isn’t even US currency. I only by in the US. Also, it doesn’t add the receipts up to give you a total. That’s kind of why I bought premium and downloaded ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses. It is not worth it at all. Another thing, I can’t click on individual categories to at least add those up myself in those specific categories. Very unorganized.

Ok for very basic basics

ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses is alright for tracking expenses and capturing receipts and invoices and then running a report for tax purposes. You can categorize expenses by type per their limited list and can add notes for each receipt. You can scan receipts they ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses or upload thru the camera photo function. The bad aspect of ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses is once the expenses are added and reports built (By the way, you can only create 2 reports in the free version) there is no way to sort by category, amount , date, vendor, etc. it’s essentially a list of chronological receipts based on the date they were added. This makes it extremely difficult for verification of recurring expenses that may occur weekly or monthly to ensure you’ve captured everything. It’s basically a list you must mull thru and no way to search or sort. Not the best, but works for very basic capture and storing and A report. The paid unlocked version is way to expensive considering the clunky user interface.

App needs work

I’ve been using Saldo for a few months running a construction business. At first it seemed to work great. A little slow generating reports. Now ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses hardly scans one receipt without bugging out and closing ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses . I do not want to use ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses any longer. I have paid until May of 2025, but have found a $10 cheaper, more organized, and faster receipt scanner instead.

Buggy

Scanning pretty good but had to go back and change every date when discovered it was putting in the day before. It therefore was not scanning for detecting the right day report was nice but again had the wrong dates even after changing the original receipt. Needs work to be effective. Cancelled my subscription and will see if there is something else out there that will save time and aggravation with expense tracking. Obviously the 99.9% accuracy was an illusion for me

Expected something different,..

Upon downloading this he app in a great rush to get caught up on my receipts. ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses appeared to be getting into position to make the scan of the receipt with the green capture field.
The field had to be initiated with h the take a picture button at the bottom of the screen, and the first capture was a picture of the receipt, background and everything. So I tried it again, I am thinking that I know how he green field will capture the receipt and bring the receipt into frame and I will have a digital copy of my actual receipt.
The second go to as the same, wrinkles and unevenness. I guess I expected more of a scan of the receipt than just a snap shot or pic of the receipt, especially with the green capture field moving and searching for the edges and format of the receipt.
ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses is pretty simple to use and after the accepted scan the price is 8.99 per month. I would like a more clear and detailed look to the receipts for ease of detail information if needed.

The free version doesn’t even scan receipts

It let me scan like 10 receipts but now when I try just get a pop up trying to sell me the $10/mo subscription, and I can’t close the pop up to scan my receipt. I don’t need fancy features like expense reports, just want a dedicated place to store pictures of receipts, that’s not worth $10/mo.

Too many bugs and lacks features

• can’t delete receipts or reports
• the date after you scan a receipt is always one day prior to the date on the receipt so you have to manually change it
• can’t search expenses by the month, date, category, or total amount only by the name
• the reports have the wrong dates (this time, one day after the saved date)
• the data is accessible even after you sign out
• you can save future dates in expenses (like if you have a receipt from the future)

The concept is great and has potential, but it needs to be better quality. Currently it looks like an app some kid made for a school project. There are much better apps out there for managing finances.

Good for simplicity, lacking…

Perfect for on the go. Entering receipts is fast and easy, the AI grabs the total and merchant so that makes entry even quicker.
Lacks categorization capabilities such as being able to subcategorize, ultimately for a much cleaner report.
Will check back for improvements, but for now I need to find something that makes tax time easier.

Potential for Greatness

I love ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses. The functionality is great and it’s easy enough to add expenses. However, ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses has lots of bugs. I am frequently booted out of my account and have to restore my subscription and sometimes I am unable to view my expenses or edit reports which can be really frustrating. Only use this if you have patience for a developing app with lots of bugs.

It’s ok

First the good parts:
Slick interface and it captures and crops receipts quickly.

The bad:
Needs a few clicks to get to scanning, which is frustrating;
Lacks folder organization;
On Home Depot receipts it never gets the date and merchant right. I mean come on, that’s home depot we are talking about.

I have tried all the receipt apps, and really like the interface and scan quality of this one, but I have to go through hundreds of receipts and fixing the merchant name and date on each one is not much better than manually scanning everything. Every other scanning app gets the Home Depot receipts right, but they are either not cropping the receipts or the quality is blurry.

I hope this review helps the developers to improve on ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses.

Decent app if it would let me use it

Paid for the full version which I’m not even able to use, it just says “upgrade to full version” then when I click on that it says I’m already subscribed without giving me access to features.

Unable to take multiple pictures of receipts

It clearly says while using the camera you can take multiple pictures of receipts but this is not true because it always keeps the first photo. Will this ever get fixed?

Requires too much manual manipulation

I currently have credit and debit as my budget tracking app. ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses exports expenses easily to credit and debit, but when I scan receipts I would say it only recognizes the correct date, total, merchant about 50 to 60% of the time. Some of the receipts it never gets correct no matter how many different ways I try to scan it. Consequently I have to manually edit many of the purchases which makes ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses less efficient for me. Increasing the accuracy or helping ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses to learn receipts from stores I frequent (CVS receipt seemed to confuse it) would make it a time saver. The other feature that would be helpful is to get ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses to recognize which account (credit card and which one, cash, etc) was charged and include that in the information about the purchase. Currently ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses seems only marginally more effective than manual entry to me so I did not purchase the subscription.

UPDATED Unable to scan multiple pages for single receipt entry

Great app to log your receipts but it does not support scanning multiple pages for a single receipt. Some of my receipts don’t show what the charges are for on the total page so I need to include a second or 3rd page for a receipt entry. After emailing the company for instruction, they said “yes you can, good luck” basically. When I emailed back twice more for more specific clarification they have neglected to respond. There may be better options/scanners out there, but I paid for a year upfront. I’ll be looking in to other options next year

UPDATE
I have now heard back from the development team and was informed of a way to log multiple pages. It requires a little more effort, which is not ideal, but it is a way to scan multiple images. I have recommended they add the ability to scan multiple pages for a single receipt entry and will try the workaround method they described to me in the meanwhile. If added, a multiple image scan for a single receipt would make ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses top tier imo

Love this app!

So easy. So detailed and convenient. Makes my life a lot easier at the end of the month when CC reconciliation is due. Thank you!

Pleased but have a question

How do you have ReceiptScannerTrackExpenses total the scanned receipts and generate a report? I have the paid version.

Scanner

Love it fast easy makes keeping track so much easier

Game Changer

First reciept added it’s a game changer! As the old saying goes, “can’t believe I wanted this long.”
