There is no one size fits all for mental health but I thought it would be valuable to offer my experience with this app. I was going though a rough patch in my life and was looking to find a remote therapist. MERU HEALTH IS NOT THAT. The interaction you get with an actual therapist is slim to none. I found that most of the program was pretty cookie cutter and didn’t feel personal to me or my situation. On top of this they will charge you absurd prices just to have an initial call to see if it’s even a fit for you.
I cannot in good conscience recommend Meru to anyone struggling with mental health. Not only did I lose a bunch of money and time with this company but it actually made my mental health worse.
Please do you research and find a therapist that will actually meet and understand your situation.

I signed up for the program and I had a traumatic event happen the weekend before I could start the program. They kindly gave me a week later to start. I really needed help managing anxiety and depression at the time. I connected with the therapist or so I thought. The first week helped me. I messaged the therapist about my troubles and they kicked me out of the program. They didn’t offer a different therapist. The email to cancel said it was my choice! Then they charged me $100 after getting money from my insurance company. I found a real therapist and they couldn’t believe this company would do that to a person in need of a service they clearly advertised.

Just be warned. Every week I was in this program, i was charged $40, and apparently it was not collected along the way. I just got a bill for $500. This is highway robbery for the level of service I was provided: a sentence a day from a therapist reminding me to do a 5 minute activity (by the way, just download FitMind or Headspace for much better and more cost efficient activities).
There is no way this program warrants thousands of insurance dollars. It’s insane and should be illegal to take advantage of people struggling with their mental health like this.
