Pretty great, but missing key features

The user interface is gorgeous, there are innovative features, and it’s overall fun to use. The problem is that it only supports Google based calendars, and the “to-dos” function in Amie doesn’t connect to the Apple default reminders app. I need other calendar support to use Amie with my work calendars. Not to mention, having a scheduled “to-do” show up as a regular calendar event is not at all the way I was hoping this app would handle it. I was hoping Amie would do something more like how Fantastical handles scheduled tasks

Refreshing and innovative calendar app

Have been using this app for a few months now coming from Google Calendar and I have very much enjoyed the experience. The design is modern and Amie is intuitive and easy to use. Would definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re tired of the traditional calendar apps.

Love this app but

I can’t find documents attached to events

Exactly what I’ve wanted

Todo + calendar is amazing. Love the unexpected things like heart rate in meetings.

Only wish would be for the todo side of things to be better, more like Things. I love being able to drag the + button in things in the order of priority and start writing.

This app honestly changed my life for the better

I’ve been looking for an app that merges todo lists with calendar for years. Super happy that I’ve finally stumbled upon this.

The interface is absolutely gorgeous and sets a new standard. I love the two tier layout—it’s so flexible and intuitive. It makes using Amie so much fun.

This is by far the best todo list and calendar app ever. My general workflow is to make todo’s, then drag and drop them across my calendar to prepare the next day.

Thank you to the devs for this amazing app!!

Great Calendar

Personally, I don’t care about the task and todos part, but as a calendar app, this app is designed beautifully and it replaced Fantastical as my main calendar app.

Add Apple Calendar and Apple Music

Why aren't they already there?

Continue With Google 👎

Should at least list Google only in the description prominently

Cool google addon; add support for other mailboxes

This trend of calling products, especially calendar products, “in production” or out of waitlist and not even trying to integrate all the other massively used platforms is just kinda crazy. This should be called a google add-on until there’s bigger support; and if I’m wrong please do tell because this trend is frustrating especially since the API’s/connectors/tools to connect say, I don’t know, Exchange or even IMAP are there. So calling this revolutionary game changing app center on a core requirement that brings it from a “calendar” to a “$15/m google addon” that I will say looks great but geez. I rarely ever leave 1 star reviews, but selling people on a product then throwing in a huge asterisk at setup time is just kind of backwards, and this isn’t the first “startup” around calendar/email doing this. Why just google? Because it’s easy. Calling it a day at Googles API is very easy rather than supporting the actually very complex world of email and calendar. And given that keynote presentation fluff, put that effort into a product not an overpriced addon to google. Anyway, woosh. My 2 cents. Will happily amend if proven wrong.

Lax privacy policy & Google-only make this a no-go

I absolutely love this concept! It matches my brain perfectly (tasks-to-calendar), looks slick, and prioritizes integrations over reinventing the wheel.

But the “we try to not store data” lax privacy policy is worrisome for an app that would know all about the time, places, mail, and people in my life. Even worse, at least for now, only supporting Google accounts. I just left my gmail for privacy reasons, so this is sadly a no-go.

this app team: Please follow apps like Gentler Streak and go zero-trust / maximum privacy. All my events and tasks are already stored locally on my phone. Do that and support iCloud/IMAP accounts, and if love to try y’all out!

No due dates? No way to sort? Missing features

Congrats on the launch! I find the design beautiful. I really like the idea of being able to schedule todos onto a calendar.

However, I am not sure what is the philosophy behind the tasks and projects (lists) not having deadlines.

Sometimes I am given a task that is due a month from now and another one that is due 6 months from now. My gut feeling is to sort my todos and work on what is due at an earlier date. There is no easy intuitive way to do this in Amie .

Sure, you can do it manually if you have a couple todos, but in practice I have 15-20 projects going on any given time each with 5-12 tasks. There is no way to sort or tag todos or to easily prioritize a list like that.

Still, I look forward to Amie iterating and improving. It reminds me of Things 3 a bit.

Looks cool, is pointless

Imagine a calendar that looks cool in pictures. Now imagine it’s formatted in a way that’s extremely counterintuitive to anyone who’s not used to the ridiculous side of modern app design.

Also, why do the haptics go off 5+ times when I move the center bar up and down? That alone is one of the most annoying aspects of any app I’ve used recently.

The music integration is cool if you like gimmicks, but it isn’t anything more. Even if you like that kind of thing, Amie doesn’t have nearly enough new to justify going through the trouble of switching to this.

No current contacts integration

If you ever use the core functionality in gcal where you type someone’s name in in your org or contacts and it brings up their calendar so that you can reference it for scheduling, know that that functionality is completely broken in this app as of the day of this review and has been for a week. That’s right. $15 or so dollars a month to have to just use your gcal anyway. Support is responsive with fixes that never seem to happen. Given this one another 6 months to bake before you try it out. It may as well be in alpha currently.

Almost perfect

I’ve been looking for an app that will keep me engaged to remember to go back to my to do lists.

This is one of my favorites so far and I’ve only been using it for a couple of hours.

What I would love to see in future releases:
1. Although you can move lists up and down to re-order, the order doesn’t stick (at least on iOS) - kinda annoying.
2. Need zoom integration in iOS to create a zoom link when creating a new meeting
3. Need attachments in tasks- hyperlinks,
Images, etc for quick views
4. If you do end up supporting attachments,
Offline access would also be nice.

Perhaps more requests to come, but quite honestly if those 4 items get fixed/added, I’m ready to leave my current apps and use it full time.

Keep up the great work!

Great start

Love the layout, integrated todos, and the idea behind all of it but it’s lacking a lot. No month view on mobile, no CalDev support for my work calendar, no interactive widgets so I could switch between todo lists in the widget or days on the calendar side.

I’m so excited to see what will come but right now it just can’t replace some more solid apps that are out.

No iCloud Calendar sync for an iOS only app?

The UX/UI is awesome and I was excited to try it, but ended up having to ditch it because it doesn’t support iCloud calendar sync. Willing to give it another shot if that comes, and will keep it installed and check for that addition in future updates.

By

Still feels beta, but promising

Yes there a still a number of bugs and sync issues from launch. However due to the responsiveness of the devs and promising features, it’s just going to be uphill from here.

Single Day View

On the desktop client, I feel there should be a single day view you can select. As Is; I have to resize the window and sidebar.. very clunky. love the menu bar, love the drag n drop To-Do idea, I just need it to handle things like I live… on a day to day basis

By

If you live in Google, nice app

I personally can’t use because of calendar integration limitations. Wish it had apple calendar and reminder integrations

Confusing navigation, false advertising

The screenshots show integrations with Things and Notion, but Amie offers none of that in Settings. The navigation is highly custom and I’m sure intuitive to the designer but is difficult to understand what many of the features are or how to reach them. Not worth $13/mo at this point.

Tutorial got stuck.

Was looking forward to trying it, but Amie didn’t make it last the tutorial without getting stuck. Bummer!

This is great

Professional business and weekly planning coach here. I suspect this concept will be revolutionary. It’s very very useful and unique.

Great App! Paid and don’t have access to Premium Features

I’m really happy with Amie and I think it has a ton of potential. Reminds me a lot of what the browser company is doing. My one complaint is I have subscribed to the pro version in an attempt to support the creators, but I don’t feel like I’ve gotten any benefits from the subscription. I still can’t have multiple integrations and the other features included I either can’t find or are non existent. I say this all in the hopes that the developer and I can get in touch because I really want to support what your doing, but with $12 a month I would like to be able to use the promised features. Thanks!

Lovely concept, background chaos

I really enjoyed the concept, it’s modern, innovative. However, a thing that annoyed me and made me stop using it is the fact that if I wanna go back to use my google calendar all my events changed colors and have different emojis and looks chaotic. I was about to connect other apps, but seeing that this app changes settings on the original apps concerns me.

Great but with early bugs

Been part of my daily productivity app and i have been loving it so far. A lot of bugs but that is expected… please release an iPad app - seems like it should be do-able since this feels like a web app wrapper… so that i can completely rely on this app throughout all my devices.

Beautiful, fun, useful day planner

I’ve tried almost all the current day planners that are good for personal use (as opposed to ones geared for teams) and I really love this app. Good integrations, fun details, enjoyable UI on both desktop/web and mobile(they clearly took a lesson from Things). They kind of thought of everything. Really needs repeating tasks asap though, and an iPad version. Everything is fast and fluid. Room to improve sure but so far so good.

Love it but would make a few changes/add

I love Amie and how it’s designed and runs. I do have a problem with not being able to change the color of events connected to one particular email. Once that it fixed that will bump it up a star.

So on to the changes or add. One is how to add custom alert for events. It’s so annoying to do it on the iPhone. It takes me way to long to make an a 1 day before event alert than it should. The wheel or whatever you want to call it is just bad in my opinion. Nice that it’s there but there are better ways to do it.

I would also have the ability to use it in landscape mode. Sometimes I just like to use it in that mode.

I know the repeat event is coming soon to iPhone app but it’s still not here and that’s a big usage for me and probably many others. So I would get that done asap.

One last thing I would add is the ability to add travel time to an event. I like to know how long it usually takes me to get to an event so I know when I should leave. Also it lets me know when I should be ending other events and when not to make events so I’m not late for the event.

Add/make all of these changes and have my one email work like it supposed to and Amie will be a 5/5 for me.

Needs some key features

First, it’s a good app! The free version (for now) is quite generous and is helpful for evaluating the tool. Bonus points for being the only calendar tool I’m aware of to feature two-way sync with Things 3. That is the feature that got me to consider testing out Amie .

While I love the direction it’s going, here are some key features the this app team should prioritize:

Improving Things 3 syncing. If I complete an event from the Things app, it disappears from the calendar if I’ve scheduled the task for a time. Also, it doesn’t mark the task as complete in this app. Something is off with the 2-way syncing, but I’m confident the devs can fix that.

Support natural language processing. This is probably the #1 thing the team should focus on. Many of us potential this app users are calendar power users coming from other calendar apps, of which most have natural language processing. I was actually quite surprised this app doesn’t have this feature yet, but it’s an important one.

Creating an iPad version of Amie . I know it’s most likely somewhere on the roadmap, but calendar power users are using their calendars on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Every great calendar app has a version for all these platforms, so this app shouldn’t be any different.

I hope the devs and this app team find this feedback helpful! Great start to a solid calendar, but let’s make it the best calendar app out there!

Trying it out, and love it

I just think there’s a few things missing here and there but overall has a lot that has me sticking around for now with the free version. I’m not much of a planner. I do however have an iPad I’d like to use this on that I can’t. I feel like that’s a big part of this for accessibility for planning having it on a bigger screen like an iPad. Other connects would be nice not to rely on google calendar. Maybe I’m new but I wish it was easier to make events on mobile . I often have to make a task then make it an event.
