Beatport - Music for DJs Reviews

Here it goes… Beatport is terrible but I look forward to improvements because I like having access to extended and alternate mixes when I’m out and about. I included bullets below to make it easy for the developers to address.

-Beatport defaults to “Discover,” but the point (in my opinion) is to put your previously-selected and downloaded collection somewhere that’s accessible while you’re out and about, right? It should default to your collection. Discover is clunky on mobile.

-Search. You can’t search an artist’s name…I’m sure they’re working on it but what???

-Playlists. Click on a playlist title, it goes to the playlist for a second, then bugs out, the screen flashes, and you’re brought back to the playlist home screen.

-Listening in the car with driving directions on. The music stops playing when the next turn is announced, but it doesn’t resume playing after the directions app has done its thing.

-Some tracks just don’t load. Magic Carpet by Kyle Watson is a notable track that hasn’t worked for me…maybe it works for others?

I hope they improve Beatport !

I love that I can compile my playlists on the go. I do 90% of my music listening in the car. Lately I’ve been having issues with Beatport constantly crashing while in use. It also logs me out sometimes when it crashes. I have to re-enter my login details when it does. Be nice if Beatport could use the iPhone’s facial recognition for logging in.

I’ve been a this app user since the early 2000’s. One thing I’ve wished for was a mobile app to easily discover music while on the go. Finally! Nice, clean, and simple layout. Easy to setup to stream my favorite genres and create playlists of tracks. One feature I would love to see added is full integration with Apple CarPlay. Either way… I’ll be listening daily and the this app LINK subscription just became a much better value with Beatport. Thanks this app team!

I was super super excited when I got an email saying this app came out with a new app. That excitement shortly dissipated after seeing that you need a Link subscription to even browse music. Would love to be able to add items to a wishlist of some sorts and then buy on the web. Between the website and now Beatport , I feel like this app just goes in the opposite direction with every move they make.

EDIT: Q3 has come and gone and still no login for normal users without a subscription. Done waiting, just going to delete Beatport . Hopefully by next Q3 we have a login option for users without a subscription.

Beatport is very nice! Adds onto the link experience nicely! For someone who can afford to pay for link, it’s very much worth it. If you’re ever stuck and feeling uninspired it’s always nice to jump into one of the “this app curated playlists”, this is game changer! I’ve been waiting for Beatport for almost a year now

Some basic song management for playlists like swipe right/left to delete or move would improve the usefulness of Beatport.

I know this app serves many different platforms but it would be nice to have some HOT CUE markers that I can prepare on Beatport and it syncs via the streaming service for the hardware I’m using.

What is the deal with this stupid subscription requirement? Why does a company like this app not have an app that allows customers to go in and purchase tracks? Correct me if I’m wrong, but an old this app app used to allow this years ago? The website is clunky on mobile. I think this is a severe marketing oversight. The reason I don’t buy tracks anymore is because I’m primarily in a mobile device, I have to log into the website EVERY single time I visit it, and it’s sluggish.

The way you search for music is an Amazing Concept. I love how when i search for the Dj i need, there is a page and a awesome setup to find the music your looking for and the quality is outstanding coming out if my JBLe350s sounds like a festival on quarter Volume. When I started using this app, I was hoping there would be an App for a much more easier access, to purchase songs, preview them, manage the music when you’re not on a Laptop, and they did just about that definitely hit with this one!!

I really want to love Beatport, unfortunately it crashes constantly and sometimes tracks just don’t load and you end up with the spinner of death. Also, why can’t I view artist, label and genre from the full-screen track view?! (You can only do this from list view) Lots of potential, but needs some solid QA to get this bad boy running well. Get on it guys!

Great idea. Clean app. Still a bit buggy. Every time I tap my playlists Beatport loads it for a quick glance and then sends me back to my playlists. I think it would also be a good idea to have “tap-and-hold” features for quicker actions like adding to a playlist, deleting a song, etc. I have faith!

There are still bugs and kinks to be worked out, but for the most part Beatport functions as intended . I show all my friends Beatport, absolute best way to discover fresh house music

Description says it works with the iPad but it’s awful. Basically a tiny window that only works in portrait mode. I was hoping for a way to dig through tracks on something other than a tiny phone screen.

I was extremely excited to see that this app released an updated app so that I can work on Link playlists away from the computer. I was extremely disappointed to discover that Beatport will not start for me. I get to the “b” loading screen after entering my login credentials, and then Beatport quits. Hope this gets resolved soon, looking forward to using Beatport !

First off, I love this app! I have a subscription to the service and the fact that I can’t listen to the whole song and add to my collection in Beatport is a huge win for me. Thank you for the dedicated app!

Good app but still has a lot of issues. Consistently struggles to play songs.

There should be at least some form of a free model of this, it’s like trying to start a car without any gasoline. I would have tried it, and maybe paid for it if I didn’t have to have a subscription to start with. Now I’m just gonna tell my friends it’s hot garbage behind a pay wall.

I have always wanted an app to purchase and search new music directly from my phone but it is worthless if you don’t subscribe to Link service. I already spend tons money by purchasing music to on top have to pay a subscription to use Beatport . Disappointed.

App is still buggy, but it plays the tracks you want. Beatport brings tears of joy to my eyes. Please keep improving it!

Now I can use it easier. Missing feature: no access to new releases in chronological

Not sure how to create new account. I just downloaded app and it wants me to sign in but where’s the register link.

I’m so stoked I can create my own playlist right from this app and listen on the go!

Need an active link subscription in order to use Beatport . How about you just open it up to everyone and maybe you’ll sell more tracks, back to traxsource I guess

This is amazing, I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now since I have to switch from Spotify to this app as a crate dig and then search tracks to purchase. Will update this review as I use Beatport .

Got an email telling me about Beatport. App only allows existing members sign-ins. I’m not even signed-up yet (apparently new sign-ups are not welcomed).

In modern time Beatport required I subscription for 49 or 99 dollars I'm only need hear music before buy, I not need your subscription , Beatport tried to taked money from my poket without reason ! I'm hate that !!!! All music before buy available in YouTube also full versions hey this app stop trying made as idiots we a smart people and know everything about how to hear music without your stupid offers !
