Recently LibraryMerger states that backups are old an incompatible even though they are created with the latest version of JW Library. It worked so well but now…
It says back up not compatible because the not having the latest update of JW Library after having updated my app. Useless
LibraryMerger is soooo good and almost perfect. They haven’t given it playlist support yet. Which is very unfortunate, considering how useful playlists are. If you have playlists, don’t use LibraryMerger or it will delete them. Once they add playlist support, LibraryMerger will be absolutely crucial to anyone with multiple devices.
I just started using JWLM and am very optimistic. As I am just beginning, I have JW Library on my PC, iPad and iPhone so this is going to help a great deal, however, the initial process of syncing in really laborious. In the Merge process, It begins with the comparison between the two backups. I have to select each one individually and this is taking a very very long time. Is there a way to make one backup dominant and make the merge easier; in particular the markers? I get it for the written notes and am happy to be able to select these, but there and so many markers that is is taking hours to select them. Can you help with this please?
I’m trying to find a way to transfer my studied pioneer book to a new device. I thought this might be a way to do it. However, the merged file did not include it. 🙁. It appears like it would work for other items, though.
Why would anyone download this when it is built into JW Library already? In the Personal Study part of JW Library, you upload to a cloud service like one drive, iCloud, or google drive, then download that to the other device. Easy. Been doing that the whole time. The only thing LibraryMerger is good for is for the stats or for those that didn’t learn how to use the backup feature in JW LIBRARY.
I can use my phone while I’m out and about and get it to sync with my iPad so I don’t lose anything and both devices have the same highlights and notes.
I use JWLibrary in multiple devices, and I use it a lot. The feature to create a backup and upload it to the cloud has come in handy. But sometimes I forgot to restore and I ended with multiple backups. But with LibraryMerger, I can merge those backups and I don’t loose what I’ve done. Thanks!!!
Works great since the recent update. No more database issues. While playlists can’t be synced, they’re easy enough to backup and restore separately.
Thank you for this much needed tool. One thing I think would make this tool even better is if the file name displayed when doing the comparisons and after you’ve selected a file. It would make it easier to know which change to accept when merging.
How do I select my back up? When I click select back up I cannot find JW within the iCloud or on my iPad. Thank you for your help!

If it finds a conflict (like two bookmarks at the same place, or two markings that overlap), you can choose which version to keep.
Simply open both backups in the app (you can even send them via AirDrop).
