Go-To app right here, but…

Hello! So, let me start off with great notes. This has been my go to app for whenever I feel that I can’t really keep up with my thoughts & urges. I love it. I would recommend HarmLess; However.. the advertisements for ‘premium’ isn’t cool. It’s the very first thing you see the minute you open HarmLess, and I find that a bit.. insensitive, I guess? I don’t mean to sound like I’m offended by it, though, I don’t see why we need to pay just to be able to have more outlets for help. I wouldn’t mind it, of course, but this advertisement shows EVERY TIME you open HarmLess . Maybe if it was more of a one-time pop up, then you could buy it somewhere in HarmLess itself, I’d like that a bit more. But this ad shows up each time and it’s really annoying. It’s also very sad, especially for those that just want to cope freely without needing to pay for such support. Now, I’m not saying that HarmLess isn’t good enough!!! I love it. It’s helped a lot; given the fact that I’m very young & can’t exactly reach out comfortably, without parents knowing. But, all in all, I would recommend. It’s just the advertisements that really get me. Anyways, thank you for reading. I’m proud of you, don’t give up, have a great day/night! <3

Some things

Good app don’t really like how there’s a premium version I get you have to make money but like some ppl are still really young and dependent on their parents and don’t have a job yet because they’re not old enough and such and would really benefit from the premium version more then you know. And then having to ask their parents to get them the premium version may possibly start an argument that just makes the adolescent feel much worse so maybe I’m not sure maybe there’s something that y’all can do that can help those people out.

Why is the app not free?

Hi. I’m a 12 year old girl who has anxiety and depression and ADHD. I’m 9 days clean. I’m happy it’s not 17+ because I really need the help when I’m home. But there are some things I’m wondering about. HarmLess helps a little more then some of the others, but I don’t understand why you have to pay to get help. Kids like me struggling don’t have that kind of money. And this is someone’s life we’re talking about here, why should they have to pay to get help? I’m in therapy but I only go once a week and I need and outlet to go to when I have urges again. I get that you need to make money but if you need money you could make other apps and keep the self care free. Just saying.

100 days

I’ve had many mental struggles for a long time throughout my life. I was first recommended HarmLess by my therapist and have been using it for a long time since. It’s helpful in panic and when dealing with urges. I started out expecting HarmLess to fix everything for me, without actually putting in the effort myself. I didn’t actually try to resist my urges so HarmLess wasn’t much help at first. I’ve since began putting in the effort and work as well and while HarmLess doesn’t automatically fix everything, it’s been a great help to me throughout my journey. I’m glad to say that I’m almost at 100 day sh free and it’s incredible to think I’ve come this far from being unable to go five days without it.
Edit: I am now at 250 days clean. It’s been a struggle but we’re getting there.

Best app!!

I got HarmLess around late 2022 to early 2023 and seeing myself get better was the best thing ever, I keep track on how good I’m doing, of course it was more than HarmLess I had to do it myself with my own mindset but watching myself get better with how long I was clean and all the coping techniques they had on HarmLess helped so much! Love HarmLess , I do think there should be no money needed (premium) to help someone mentally, to help them cope, etc, if it’s gonna be premium take it off HarmLess or make it free some people get an app for help and someone they need more than just breathing or anything💜

Fantastic resource!!

This the best self harm app I’ve ever seen. I see how much consideration and thought was put into every part and I’m honestly at a loss. I’m really not just saying this. I love that you can disable and enable whatever features you’re interested in whenever you want. I love how many feelings you can pick from when you are having an urge, and how the feelings are categorized. I love how many thoughtful strategies there are. I love the name and how it emphasizes the idea of harm reduction, but isn’t overt. I love how private HarmLess is especially with the password setting enabled. It’s really good stuff! Overall, HarmLess is stellar. Wow. As a person who is super passionate about mental health, works in mental health, and has struggled with self harm... HarmLess has totally got me jazzed lol. I will definitely be referring people to HarmLess if they would be interested in something like this! :D

Extremely helpful!!

i love this. I’ve only had it for about 2 days. it’s very helpful. It makes u pledge not to hurt yourself every morning and u can review your day at night, or whenever you want. when you press the “urge” button, it asks you how you feel and then based off that it gives you a crap ton of suggestions for things you can do instead of self harm. if your on the fence about getting HarmLess, i’d say you should go for it. no hidden fees or anything, it’s completely free. give it a try :) best of luck, friend.

Amazing app and service

I used HarmLess frequently during quarantine and it was very helpful for me. I’ve recovered from my depression now, and happier than ever. About a month ago I was trying to get back into my account bc I wanted to see how long it’s been but I had forgotten the password. I emailed the developers and later I’m back into my account!! It’s been 354 days, 18 hours, and 17 minutes, almost a year! Don’t give up, you can recover even if it really doesn’t feel like it <3. Best wishes on your journey, and tysm for getting me back in

Self harm app to help u out.!

This is a great app it’s helped me ever since I started to want to stop i down loaded it and I seen that it has a journal that u can write in if you don’t like to talk to ppl and it counts the days you have been self harm free. HarmLess helps me thru every day I write every day and I’ve noticed that u can tell when your getting better. Also! They have a counselor thing that u can pay for if you want. But this is a great app to use when u are in need for some help bc HarmLess is so motivated and helps a lot. Try it out!😁😁

Genuinely works

If you believe reviews or not just try it. I was doing poorly but I think this genuinely helps if you want to get better. :)
Who ever made HarmLess is a awesome person helping so many people. I never write reviews because I’m only a teen who doesn't like writing public things, but I think this was important because people who like me want to get better but don’t want other peoples involvement it works well. Thanks. The encouraging things it says may seem cheesy at first but I think they help with if you don’t get told you are doing well often.

IT IS A GREAT APP

I give it a 5 stars but most of the breathing exercises cost you 7.99 each month and I can pay it but some people might not be able to do they might not have access the the exercises that they need. But overall it helps with stress, self harm, anxiety, and more. I would suggest buying the VIP pack if you can but if you can’t that’s ok too. But I highly recommend getting HarmLess because it has everything. If you have a urge you can press the urge button and it tracks how u were through out the day and you journal and it’s just such a great app.

So Far has been very helpful

I've have struggled with self harm and anxiety for years and I relapsed into self harm after being clean for years recently.

HarmLess is nice, it allows me to write my thoughts down and to go back and see my progress; the breathing prompts were so helpful when I would have a panic attack and it doesn't “throw a fit” if you relapse or forget to pledge. It actually feels like a tool thats supposed to help.

Currently I am am over 2 weeks clean and I just want to say to anyone who reads this that if you are struggling, it's okay. You are doing great and I'm proud of you.

Extremely helpful

For anyone struggling with sh I would 1000% recommend HarmLess, it is an amazing resource and every aspect of it is extremely thought out, my favorite part is the password feature that gives you the opportunity to make it a little more private, as a teenager who’s parents check their phone this has given me a little bit of privacy that I really needed, the positive reinforcement and milestones are something I really look forward to on my rough days, the journal and urge feature make it much easier when it is time to review how I have been doing with my therapist, I recommended it to her and since then she now recommends it to all of her sh struggling clients, 10/10 would recommend!! An amazing app for your easy days and an even better app for your hard days!!

super affective

I had a self harm addiction for a year and a half before i tried to get better the first time. HarmLess i was using previously was very negative when you relapsed. it would make me not want to even open HarmLess anymore. so i had to struggle with sh every day until 60 days ago. 60 days ago exactly, i decided to get clean and when looking for an app to help me keep track i wasn’t sure i could trust these apps. HarmLess has many meditations, coping strategies, distractions so you don’t sh, a journal where you can put in n entry every day. i also like that HarmLess is very positive, when you relapse they tell you things like relapse is part of the journey, you will try again and succeed or something like that. it also gives you daily encouraging messages when you pledge for the day and review your day.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

this helps me so much, they don’t make quitting sound like an “easy task” like i’ve seen people do. They know how hard it is which is refreshing. it reminds you of your goal and why you want to quit. It gives you achievements for how long you haven’t done it, which gives me a feeling of hope and pride about how far i’ve come. it has great coping mechanisms and ways to calm down. it helps so much. i could go on and on about how HarmLess helps. its “how long you haven’t done it” and “how long you can last” are amazing and doesn’t make me feel bad at all.

to the maker of HarmLess: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!o(^▽^)o

Reminders

I’ve struggled with SH for a very long time. It’s taken on different forms over the years, mostly to be concealed a lot easier. I‘be done a ton of CBT therapy and it hasn’t really helped since I can’t access those skills when I’m in an episode. I was looking for an app to support me on my journey to a healthier life, and it has been really helpful as a reminder that I’m trying to do better. I like the “urge” button and that I can rate the intensity (a tool from REBT) and even write about it. I also like the daily pop ups for every achievement. I feel like it could have more for education and writing prompts would be sweet, but it’s a good addition to a plan

Help Is Here❤️

This year‘s been a rough year and I’ve had many times where I wanted to just end my life and not be here anymore and my teacher mentioned HarmLess to me and it kinda helps me. it gives you ideas to calm yourself down or to like get that urge out of you, so you don’t do it so far I am 18 days clean of not hurting myself, and I am very proud of myself and I’m sure my friends are too. and sometimes HarmLess may not help people but I encourage you to reach out to someone talk or family members and talk about what’s going on and try to just do everything you can to not hurt yourself because people are here that love you and you deserve to be here.❤️

Helps me sort my feelings (helpful)

HarmLess hasnt really done anything to stop me from committing, but it does help me keep track of my feelings, and know how long ive been clean, which is enough for me. I really like the encouraging massages when you relapse :) As a lot of people have mentioned its annoying that it promotes premium every time you open HarmLess , but the pros outweigh the cons. My friend recommended HarmLess and im really glad she did, because its helping me sort what kind of feelings im having when i get my urges, and therefore helping me find alternative coping mechanisms that go with the feelings im having. Angry SH is going to need a different coping method then sad SH, and it’s helping me figure it out :))

Surprisingly helpful and in depth

I’m still learning all of this apps features, but using it honestly and seeing the times and days I’m triggered along with the journals I write each of those days is actually amazing. It makes it very easy to track your progress and what factors may be contributing to your harm.
I personally use this for addiction purposes, and the exercises they provide have been very valuable to me. I’m on the free version of HarmLess and find it helpful, It seems that the full version could be very useful as well, and I don’t usually think that. I appreciate how easy the format is, how encouraging the notes are, and how accessible the features are for the free version as well.
Thank you for developing this.

GET THIS APP.

So I’ve been struggling with self harm since November. I had been trying lots of ways to stop my self harm and I think that making a commitment to myself through HarmLess has been really helpful. Obviously, I know that just saying you’re not going to self harm doesn’t make it easy. But there’s an urge button that has soo many different coping skills. I’ve used HarmLess for almost 2 months and am now 1 month “clean” (is that the right word to use?). If you are struggling, definitely try out HarmLess
