… being forced to sign up instead of subscribing through the app store makes it a non-starter for me. Oh well

I joined. But quickly I realized that Struum is missing features that I would like. First, there is no way to put a program into a watch list. I know that I could “purchase it using credits” and then have 30 days to watch it. But as I browse around, I would like the ability to save things that interest me to perhaps watch later rather than having to commit to it by using credits.
Second, there is no ratings given for any program. Also, many times, there is really no description of the program. And, there are no trailers. For example, I’m looking at the movie “A Dog Barking At The Moon.”
I can see it was released in 2019, that it is a LGBTQ Drama, and that the run time is 1h 47m. And that it costs 4 credits. That’s it!
How am I supposed to know if this movie interests me, or whether I can watch it with my two preteen girls.
I realize I could Google the movie and find out more, but when I’m paying for a subscription, this information should be supplied!
I’m cancelling my subscription for now and will watch how this service evolves.
I really like the idea of promoting smaller indie services, but for me, currently it is missing too many features for me to be paying a subscription.
Lastly, I don’t like that you can only use your credits while still having to pay a subscription. I would rather buy only the number of credits I need, but have perhaps a year to use them or lose them. Currently, if you stop the monthly subscription, you will lose the ability to use any credits you still have… unless you resubscribe.
