Barely useful...

The developer obviously doesn't think this version of Airmail should be updated as frequently as the "consumer" one. English doesn't appear to be his native language and shows throughout Airmail - awkwardly named settings, singular used when plural should have been used, etc. Most of all, it doesn't offer any truly advanced configuration options, just eye candy. The developer would do well to look at the FairEmail app (not available on iOS for the moment) for inspiration. Also, don't neglect updates and bug fixes, you charge a premium for Airmail , you ought to maintain it properly.

UPDATE: The developer does not update Airmail, only the subscription version. This is a money grab and a fraud!

Unbearable experience on M1 Mac

When can the three column be supposed, as indicated on your website? And also, lots of bugs for this one column layout on mac, why both doing this awful one column when there's a fine three column layout on iPad version?

Does not work on Mac despite being told by developer it does

This was sold in a fraudulent manner.

They said it works on Mac. It doesn't. Apple should ban this developer from the AppStore.

Unusable on MacOS

On their website, the vendor indicates Airmail will work on MacOS in addition to iPad and iPhone.

The first problem I noticed was that the MacOS layout is supposed to be three columns: the sidebar with the list of accounts and folders, the list of messages, and a detail message view. However, in practice, there is only one column visible at all times. Which makes switching accounts or labels/folders very clunky. I contacted their support, however the menus and options they directed me to adjust were not visible within Airmail .

The second problem I noticed is that the labels from the Gmail account I connected were visible in the folder list, but were not visible when viewing the messagse list nor within the full message. Again, I tried to adjust settings. I found that if you did go to your folder/label list view and open one of the existing labels, the labels were then shown correctly -- if you returned to the inbox view, messages with that label were shown. But new messages that arrived showed no labels. This makes organization of messages for projects and tasks nearly impossible.

The third and final problem was that while the interface does accept keyboard controls/input, it ignores scrolling done via the mouse wheel. So, you literally have to do gesture commands in order to scroll the list and interface or manually grab the scroll bars. This problem is compounded in the sidebar/list view, where if you have more labels than can fit within the window, it becomes impossible to gesture scroll the list (so you can't easily navigate to messagses that are filed with a label much past the 20th item in the list --because the interface seems to think that you are trying to reorder the labels vs. scroll the list).

I submitted a request for a refund. I'm so disappointed. The positive reviews online for Airmail didn't prepare me for the horrible user experience I had when trying to use Airmail post purchase.

Does not deliver the functionality it says

Purchased “business” version based on the functionality described in Airmail Store, only to find: 1. It does not in fact sync to iOS calendar, just opens a blank appointment and you have to manually re-enter all the info, 2. It does not in fact support HTML rich content in either the message body or an email signature, 3. It does not work on a device without an M1 processor, so my Mac is out-of-luck and the program therefore will not integrate across all my devices. Apparently this app Pro does in fact support the advertised functionality, but of course it’s a monthly subscription to use their servers for data storage (which pretty much nobody needs) instead of a one-time purchase. Now I have one product that I already paid for except doesn’t do what it said it would, and if I want what I thought I was buying I have to switch over to Pro and pay twice for it.

I'm rooting for it, but it's got a few killer bugs

I want nothing more than this app for Business, or an app like it, to succeed; a desktop mail app that works with multiple mail services and app services and, most importantly, does not store or collect our data or charge a subscription.

"Why not use Apple Mail?" Cause Apple Mail's desktop UX is terrible.

But man... this app's scroll and refresh bugs make it nearly unusuable. If you use naught but an apple trackpad (or, I presume, a magic mouse). But if you, like me, need to use other input devices for ergonomic reasons, you'll find that scrolling the mail list will often completely (and invisibly) lock up a portion of Airmail . You can still open email and you can still scroll with a trackpad or by grabbing the scroll handle, but your mouse wheel is kaput. On top of that, once it's in this state, it stops refreshing new email on the list. Restarting Airmail fixes this, but I effectively end up restarting Airmail nearly every time I tab over to it.

It's so close and has the potential to be so good, but with just two updates in the past year, I'm dubious this will ever be resolved.

Tried it off and on every few years

I just don't really like it. It has a lot of good features, but I don't think that they're put together really well. It just kind of feels haphazard, and I want my email client to be solid. I bought this business version because I don't like subscriptions, but I just can't make myself stomach it. I'll try it again someday.

IMAP folders not mapped

Only inbox folder works, rest of the imap folders marked as not mapped and there is no way to map them manually without digging the server.

Very Good now

Had a ton of problems before, but is actually the most stable email application ive been using. this includes canary mail and emclient 10. Very easy to use, nice UI and tons of features. I wish there were more updates, but this just works and looks very good. I keep going back to this client in the end.

The Best E-mail manager

After I bought this version, I never had to worry about email management again. An excellent investment!

Top Notch

Number One in it’s class 110%
