I have never, ever written an app review before. That’s how bad this is.

When I set up my Bindle account, it was absolutely not clear that MyBindle would only work on one device, ever. I got a new phone and set the new one up with a back-up from the phone that had Bindle on it. MyBindle migrated, but my information did not. It says it cannot retrieve my information. I looked at Bindle’s FAQs page before posting this review. It says I should have a password for a back-up, but there is no prompt or option for entering a password. It also says my account isn’t actually backed up, anyway, so I can’t actually use a password? The one thing it *is* clear about is that my account is completely irretrievable now. According to the FAQs page, my only option is to set up an entirely new account *using a different email address*. It says you should not add your phone number to the new account. Obviously I want Bindle to protect privacy, but this is ridiculous.

Finally, I have a vaccinated child I take to performances and events. My spouse and I cannot add our child to our Bindle accounts.

MyBindle is impractical and difficult and I hate it so much. I have truly never written an app review before. No app has ever made me this frustrated.

Uselessly buggy

MyBindle seems like it was put together in about a week by someone who was new to iOS development. It is not functional.

- Error messages are just nonexistent or useless. “Failed to generate a pass.” Why? Why did you fail? How do I fix it?
- For multiple dose vaccines, you have to enter each dose separately. MyBindle never prompts you to do that. You have to read it on their website when trying to troubleshoot the unhelpful “failed to generate a pass” error.
- Multiple dose vaccines appear to be impossible to import. If you try to add a first dose after a later one (see above) you just get a blank white screen. Every time. Reliably. On multiple devices and accounts.
- Trying to make a new “bundle” doesn’t seem to be allowed with the same email. There’s no error; MyBindle just completely ignores you tapping the “next” button to move forward.

I sincerely hope no venues are requiring MyBindle for entry. It doesn’t seem to be speeding anything along for an attendee, and with the fact that 90% of their users will be at the door explaining “that app is nonfunctional” I can’t imagine it will save the venue any time either.

The kicker? If you try to go to the “app support” link within MyBindle Store, the developer gave Apple a broken link so you can’t even get help that way.

Critical Error

Completed Bindle data entry twice this evening. Got a critical Error notation, which forced me to start over both times . I’m guessing there’s an overload of entries at your end. I’ll try one more time in the morning, if this comes up again, I’ll just go to the concert with my vaccine card and drivers license. Goodbye Bindle???
UPDATE: I tried to set up a Bindle account the next afternoon. It WAS successful, so I also set up an account for my friend who is going with me to the concert. We both will now have a quicker entry! From the developers response, I was just unlucky with the evening data attempts, since they were doing some major upgrade to MyBindle then. I now change my star rating to 4 stars.

Piece of cake!

I was going to a concert the other week and didn’t want to have to wait in line forever while people checked my paper vaccination card. Admittedly I also didn’t want to have a bunch of beers and mysteriously “misplace” my only Covid vaccine card.

A couple of days before the show I learned they were using Bindle as well. I downloaded MyBindle , uploaded my certifications, and pow! Instant credential without Big Brother storing it somewhere and I got to go through the express line. My seats sucked but at least I felt like a VIP going in!!! Hope I get to use it more places.

Nice idea. Not ready for prime time.

Install dialogs (text entry) hide active UI elements during setup. No screen describing documents user will need for account setup. Email entry fields don’t use iOS interface for that content (standard typing kbd vs. email kbd). Mystery icons while searching for venues. No map shown in searching for venues (contradicts website describing function of app). Companion website offers no functions for end users, contradicting the promise that this service can be used by people who don’t have a smartphone. I could go on but I’d want to be paid for further advice. Maybe MyBindle will be useful in a year or so.

Not Ready for Prime Time

I see the potential for MyBindle at some point, but certainly not now. Too many glitches, too hard to set up correctly; I gave up after 4 futile attempts. Also, MyBindle is superfluous, since I already have my picture IDs and Covid records on my phone. Not worth the effort, even for free, even to get into places that have a special Bindle expedited-admission line.
Update: I did finally manage to complete my setup, because I decided it IS worth it, in order to join the expedited admission line at Orchestra Hall. Also, the developer offered me tech support, which I ultimately didn’t need, but which I appreciated, so I’ve added a star. Thanks.

Not intuitive

What was the point of uploading a picture of my vaccine card and then having to go back and upload it again for the second dose? It was a 2 dose vaccine (which you even point out) but I have to create a separate certificate to do that (which is only mentioned on your FAQS page) before I could pass the entry pass. And then I’ve got to add another certificate for my booster? The vaccine card has 4 slots meaning one card can have 4 doses. The use of the word certificate is misleading and not at all intuitive if the majority of people are having to find your FAQs page. (Are you looking to boost your website views?) The word you’re looking for would be doses. Great idea. Poorly executed.

Can’t use for children/ entire family?!

I got this to speed up admission, but since it is only for 1 person and my children don’t gave smart phones with apps it will not help as we need paper documents for each child still
And like others having to get tech support help to change my screen settings took extra 2 days for me to set up. App needs to work with zoom settings on as that’s how we all use our phones.
Please make children and settings issues problems of the past.

Glitchy

Update: Customer service is excellent. I emailed them on a Saturday night and received a detailed response Sunday morning, which allowed me to fix the problem and use MyBindle for an event that evening. I had to create a new account, with a new email address, and that resolved the issue.

It took multiple tries to upload my information and in the end I was never able to upload a personal photo. So MyBindle may prove useless when I go to the event for which I downloaded it. Frustrating.

So far so good…

Just downloaded and set up MyBindle because we are going to go see Steve-o on Jan. 16 in Columbus and they advised to download MyBindle to speed up the process of checking in at the door. It took me about 7 minutes to set up my profile from beginning to end. No errors just a lot of in depth info, which is to be expected. The nice thing is I won’t have to fish out my drivers license at the door. I will post an update (if I remember) after the show, on how the experience actually was.

Stellar Customer Service

I needed help solving a self inflicted issue I was having with MyBindle . Emailed customer service at the end of the day on Labor Day and Brian with Bindle Support responded literally within 5 minutes! I wasn’t expecting a response for at least 24 to 48 hours. Brian provided suggestions on how to solve my problem and my problem was corrected within minutes. (I needed to tweak the settings on my phone) Well done Bindle Customer Support!

Confusing Interface, Doesn’t Save Progress

Interface and instructions are confusing: does it want me to enter the details of my first vaccine, second, or booster? Not clear at all. Also difficult to get to the “Next” button when it’s near the bottom of the screen. I had to background MyBindle to take a photo and come back, and it made me start all over. Giving it 3 stars because at least the intent to verify vaccination status is there, but the execution is not great!

Tried to set up multiple times and just deletes the info

I need MyBindle for a conference and have spent probably an hour trying to take all the pictures needed and submit but it continues to just delete everything after I get to the next step. Not trusting this security of MyBindle if it takes your info but can’t seem to keep it in your profile.
Update: after trying every few days, I finally got everything to load and save.

Not ready for prime time. Don’t bother.

I tried installing MyBindle twice. Both times it got stuck “creating your Bindle.” Uploading documentation is extremely difficult. For instance, unlike, say, when you take a photo of your check and deposit it, MyBindle cannot resize the image, thus requiring multiple attempts to place the full image in the viewing area. The developers should go back to the drawing board. It’s not ready for the general public. I’ve never written a review before, but was so frustrated with MyBindle that I wanted to warn others before they waste their time like I have.

By

Not impressed

MyBindle kept hanging up as I was trying to download documents and then wouldn’t save the document properly. There was no option for inputting my 2nd vaccine dose or booster. Then when trying to create my pass for the event, the pass kept showing “Fail”. So now I have MyBindle on my phone that doesn’t properly show my vaccination status even though my full vaccination card was uploaded so I guess I’ll need to take my vaccination card with me to the event which renders MyBindle unnecessary.

Not user friendly

1 star because you can’t change your photos after you hit next - every other app allows you to edit your picture and information. You also can’t start over with the same email you messed up with. Luckily it’s 2021 and we all have multiple emails but I didn’t want to use my backup email for this so that was disappointing as I didn’t have a choice. The calibration is messed up and there’s no marker to indicate how your ID picture will fit in the box so that took me about 5 times guessing and retaking each picture.

Great Idea-Sadly Can’t Get it to Save Profile

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra suggested patrons create a My Bindle account and use it when the Symphony is screening for vaccination requirements.

Getting the driver’s license to center for the verification was very difficult. Once I created the account by entering and double checking the final information the last screen went all white. I tried reinstating the profile but it didn’t save anything. I created the profile again and the last entry the screen went all white.

Let me know when you fix the problem and I will try again.

Terrible customer service

When my husband & I upgraded our iPhones, MyBindle needed to be set up again. But the developer requires you to have a recovery password. My husband’s recovery password didn’t work & I didn’t have one. The developer refuses to delete the accounts & let us set them up again. They demand we use different emails, which we don’t have. This approaches insanity. Nothing about this procedure improves privacy or security. It is merely laziness & deficient customer service on their part. If you use, you will be sorry! Highly NOT recommended.

By

Terrible

This is useless. You cannot make changes and then cannot set up a new account unless you have a second email address. If you inadvertently didn’t set up some sort of recovery process, which was never explained, you can never reset up your account. Total waste of time. Also do NOT put in booster information unless the shot was more than two weeks prior because it will treat you as not being fully vaccinated even though you have had the one J&J or two moderna/Pfizer shots more than two weeks prior and so are actually fully vaccinated.

By

Do not tell Bindle you have a 3rd vaccine

I provided Bindle with the date of my 3rd vaccine which was less than 14 days from when I wanted to enter a venue. I am considered fully vaccinated with just 2 vaccinations, but I was denied a pass because the 3rd vaccination was less than 14 days ago. How hard is it to write software that is smart enough to know that if you have 3 vaccinations, you are fully vaccinated and should be issued a pass.?

Garbage for iPhone 8

Because of the smaller screen on iPhone 8 you CAN’T add a certificate. The add new button is under the bottom banner. Morons. Useless for older phones.

Can’t complete setup

MyBindle requires you to enter a pin code that they email you. This pin code expires 10 minutes after you request it. The email with that pin code isn’t sent within that 10 minute window, so it’s already expired before you even receive it. So I can’t even complete the initial setup. I’ve emailed about this problem but have not received a response.

My ID is not aligned properly and only part of it is shown (it needs to be rotated 90º). How do I change it? I see no way to reenter the ID again.

I entered code sent to my email entered code started compiling has not stopped been over a couple hours.
