Developers, I see that you are listening to these reviews. You absolutely must fix this horrible app. When selecting shapes to outline a room, you must be able to create the area in the specific shape of room (you cant at this time-go back to the polygon please). If you don’t, you end up designating your front yard in your hallway and your kitchen as part of your living room. It’s ridiculous. Then, to prevent it going in your kitchen you have to create a special boundary. It’s ridiculous. Also, when working with shapes and boundaries, you are limited in the number of boundaries you can use. That is not helpful. Another also, iHomeClean is so hard to work with when creating areas and shapes, you are constantly accidentally moving or deleting a shape or designation. Unless you have fingers the size of a pixie, you are going to spend a lot of time setting areas. The vacuum itself does a pretty good job, but if I had it to do over again, I would buy something with a more user-friendly app. Will be happy to update this review if they release an app that is more user-friendly. Of course, that means it will probably delete my house and I’ll have to start from scratch.

With the previous app my vacuum worked like a charm. Now with this new supposed “upgrade” it does whatever it wants. The boundaries square cannot be small. Sometimes while setting the boundaries the area squares move. The vacuum cannot continue its job when paused and always resets to auto cleaning. It’s truly horrible. The previous app had no bugs and not this new one is full of them. I cannot use my vacuum without watching it and before I ran it even when I wasn’t home. The worst change ever!

The only reason why it even got 1 star was when it WOULD work it did great. I have a golden retriever and this vacuum helped minimize the hassle of hair all over. Granted the hair would get stuck in the design but I was willing to totally over look that when I could get it to work. My frustrations is that it doesn’t respond back and forth with iHomeClean . I have tried resetting it and I even got a new one. I am at a loss. I was hoping this would make make my job less frustrating since I moved up to the one that self dumps but boy was I wrong. :( It’s sadly going to to dump.

Obviously they are done replying to customers reviews and nothing is getting done about this horrible app. Boundaries still move around for no reason and I still can’t get more than one map to save. Not to mention it’s a very poor vacuum for hardwood floors. It blows around more than it picks up. Once it does the perimeter it starts on the inside of the floor but blows everything back to the base boards. If it did base boards like advertised it wouldn’t be an issue to have it do baseboards once it’s done but it does not have that option!! Will be taking back to try a different brand!!! Zero stars!!!!

I have tried and failed many times to get my Luna to connect to iHomeClean but no matter what I try it fails every time. I have disabled my home networks 5 ghz setting so it can only connect through the 2.4 ghz and it fails. I have disabled my firewall and it fails. I have adjusted every setting known to man and guess what it does….it fails to connect. The vacuum shows up on my network, but as LDROBOT which is not what it shows in the tutorials. The vacuum is great, it cleans well but since I can’t use iHomeClean to set boundaries it gets stuck quite often. Would not recommend to anyone.

I regret this gift more than anything I’ve received in a very long time. What a headache and continuous sucker of my time. iHomeClean /robot is incredibly difficult to use. Mapping your area and tweaking boundaries is difficult. You cannot leave this machine going without being nearby while in use. There is no simple edit feature to setup, and there is no precision in setting boundary areas and if a set boundary needs to be tweaked, you cannot do so. It loses mapping arbitrarily so you can start all over. (It honestly reminds me of the early days of computers where you lose your entire typed paper because there was no autosave.)The robot does not sense obstacles above it, so it gets stuck anywhere there is a cap from the floor to the base of a couch that is higher than the bumper, so a shaped table leg or piano feet or bases of rockers and couches, anything that it can get under it becomes completely stuck. So, in your frustration, you attempt to create boundaries and now it either is too small and you continue to have the problem or too large and now you have to get out your plug-in easy efficient vacuum that gets the job done in 1/2 the time because you cannot edit your boundaries. The ease of use is just not there, the programming is like 1988 and is not user friendly or intuitive to 2024 computer technology. This is NOT a pleasure.

I have had my nova since July 2022. I did figure it out after much trial and error back in July 2022. Things were pretty good. 4 stars. Now, this update is horrible. I can’t get nova through even the first mapping to get to the setting part of assigning a region or room name. I tried using the boundary function to guide nova and mark, say, like the great room that is carpet and kitchen that is hardwood. Realized that constrained in as ability to go back to the charger. I can’t seem to just remove that boundary lines. Okay, so I deleted iHomeClean . Opened it again. There it was the same inept map. Egads.. fix it please and makes a good tutorial video of how to. Thanks

Edit: dropping down to 1 star. iHomeClean recently cleared my home map completely, including all preset areas. I bought this vacuum to save time, and it’s not doing that for me.

This has never been a perfect app, but it worked well enough until the recent update. Now the “Areas” feature (which I use all the time to selectively clean rooms) is completely broken. First, they removed the ability to set area shapes with more than 4 sides. Since every area must now be a rectangle, there’s no good way to set cleaning for oddly shaped rooms without creating multiple areas. Second, there’s now a bug that prevents any new areas from being created - no matter what name you set for the area, validation blocks you from saving it with a message “The input text exceeds 16 characters”. Please fix these issues! I’m considering returning my Nova vac because it’s no longer doing what I need it to.

With the amazing app developers out there and the high cost of Robot Vacs, you’d think iHome could invest in a better developer than Silverpoint. iHomeClean is TERRIBLE. Constant connection issues, poor boundary control, and now, inability to complete setup altogether. I agree with other reviews that I’m ready to invest in a product NOT manufactured by iHome just to get an app that actually allows me to control the device as advertised. I wouldn’t purchase a product from this brand again based on this frustrating multi-year experience of wasted hours trying to configure what should be intuitive.

When I first bought the iHome vacuum iHomeClean worked ok, not great but ok. It would never send me notifications but I could live with that. But it started to occasionally delete my vacuum setting so I would have to go through the process of having to reconnect it to the internet. After this last app update, I can’t even connect it to the internet after many attempts, restarting phone, re-download app, etc. making iHomeClean useless if I can’t schedule when I want the vacuum to go off or see anything about the vacuum in general.

iHomeClean was never super user friendly but I had figured it out. I mapped my whole house and things were going decently well. Then….you all did an “upgrade” to iHomeClean . It’s so frustrating! Now, my map is cleared every time I open iHomeClean . I have to go to cleaning history to pull up and old map. Annoying and very much not saving me time- please fix this. Secondly, an perhaps the worst change: I area clean. I used to be able to put a check next to the areas I wanted to clean- simple, fast and easy. Now you all took away the check boxes. I have to literally try to maneuver your map that is far from user friendly. There are no labels or names anymore so I have to hope and pray I guessed the right areas. PLEASE fix this feature. I want to like this again but not it is honestly just adding more stress and that is the LAST thing I bought this for.

Before updating iHomeClean to 4.0.0 my nova pro didn’t have to many issues & it would vacuum most of my home reliably. However 4.0.0 has changed that to unreliable. I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling iHomeClean and a complete factory reset without success. Now my custom maps with boundaries, zones, rooms and areas are gone. If I were under the return period the robot would be gone as well. Why can’t these folks test out their app updates before pushing them out full of easily detectable bugs?

I honestly like the robot it’s great and a timesaver. It has its problems like not being able to return to charging station when the mopping accessory is attached. I think the Devs need to put in the settings when it detects the mop attachment it needs to more power also when it’s mopping and get too slick it get stuck. Again if the developers figure a way out for the robot to know when it gets too slick. It can send more power to get out because when I use the remote it’s able to move fine. So I know it has power it just needs to use it by itself. So I really hope they fix this because if they do this product really would be better than it already is.

The vacuum itself works okayish for me. Yes, there’s some issues with it getting stuck in places but for the most part I have no issues with the robot vacuum itself glitching or malfunctioning. It’s not the best at picking up, so it’s basically a glorified broom, but using it as a broom for a large mostly-hard wood floor apartment is great. I Have had stuff get stuck in it a lot too but it wasn’t that big of a deal to clean out of the suction duct if you have tweezers (i have the vacuum that empties itself into its stand).

iHomeClean I would give one star.

iHomeClean is absolute trash. It used to work for me but then I got signed out somehow and it never let me back in because it never finished loading after I clicked “log in” (I let it sit for hours before force closing iHomeClean and then retrying it). After I gave up on that, I reset the robot vacuum and made a new account and it never finished loading connecting to the robot through the WiFi-connect thing (that too I left for hours and continuously force-closed and reopened). Literally the worst app I’ve ever encountered on iHomeClean Store. At least other apps on iHomeClean Store let me log in or connect to a device before they glitched or lagged.

Loved this vacuum and app until the most recent update a few months ago. Since the update, my device always shows as offline and I need to refresh it 6 times before it recognizes the device. The map used to show where the vacuum was (which room/area) as it was running, and now the map doesn’t update to show the progress. As others have mentioned, the areas/rooms feature is no longer working. Feels like a waste of time to have set it up in the first place. Is there a way I can revert to an older version of iHomeClean ?? Please bring back some of those features that were working great.

Aside from the fact I can’t get a replacement battery and it dies at 50% battery life, these latest updates have been terrible. It loses the map constantly and has to start from scratch which is a problem since no matter how many times I delete the scheduled cleanings it just reappears with no way to edit times or rather when I edit times it goes back to the very first schedule I ever saved. And when it loses the map it still tries to start with the schedule but can’t find where it’s at. Please fix these simple issues with the technology at hand in 2023, these are issues I’d expect on a first gen technology 15 yrs ago.

As stated above, the map has deleted on me like 4 times and we just got the thing. Lots of bugs and iHomeClean needs fixing. It makes this machine not worth any type of money paid for it. It’s not exactly easy to have to move the house around accordingly over and over so I can map out the house 3 times a week. Lots of issues, please fix because this thing has so much potential

I have an older Eclipse that works well with iHomeClean . Runs on a schedule. I decided to buy a Nova so that I could set virtual boundaries and use it downstairs. The issue that I'm having is that the schedule toggles off after each cleaning. I've contacted iHome customer service. Their response has been 1. Did I save the schedule? Answer yes 2. Delete iHomeClean and reinstall. Answer didn't help.

This appears to be a bug in the software. I need the schedule to work each night. Please fix and respond with an actual solution.

My iHome Nova use to be the absolute best. Ever since the update it’s been none stop issues. First I had to remap, then it was remapped but still missed large sections of my condo. It’s still missing random spots and now it will not connect to iHomeClean . I’ve reconnected it multiple times but it will not stay connected. All of these problems came with the new update. Hopefully the bugs are worked out ASAP.

Despite multiple updates and changes. Functionality is getting lost on iHomeClean.
Map or “area” management isn’t the same, app is slow, and when trying to set an areas of my house on the map, the only option you have is a big rectangle which really limits some of my rooms. Please bring back the ability to create different shaped rooms.

Due to the iPad's larger screen size, it is a much better platform than the iPhone for creating or modifying areas, boundaries, etc. Unfortunately, these features largely don't work on the iPad as dialog windows are improperly sized, rendering them useless and their related functionality inaccessible.

Everything appears to works fine on iPhone, so the iPad problems are hopefully nothing more than an easily-remedied oversight.

First automated vacuum I owned.
Very impressed and happy with the luxury of have the house vacuumed while asleep. But I am very frustrated with iHomeClean . It has a huge lag and even freezes up, hard to understand the mapping of the house, and to some it up iHomeClean needs a lot of work. I am looking to upgrade already to have a hard floor cleaner but I’m thinking of spending a little more and a different brand that doesn’t have this issue.

The vacuum itself is ok, though I’d get something else if I needed to replace. iHomeClean seems good except that it keeps clearing all my history / data. So I have to keep redoing all of the map & settings. That is really starting to get frustrating! Overall (app & device) this is helpful, but still ends up being a lot of work every time I need to use it.

iHomeClean works great until it does an update. Whenever I let iHomeClean update to the latest update it always deletes my vacuum that I have listed. So after any update I have to then go into iHomeClean and relink my robot vacuum and set up my automatic schedule again. Very frustrating.

The vacuum works just fine, but the map on iHomeClean keeps changing and messing up every time I try to set it up on a schedule. At this time, I have now had the Nova for 3 months and I’ve tried to set it up on a schedule multiple times and this issue keeps happening. One time, I got it to stick to a schedule but only for a couple days then it changed and all the areas and regions were completely different. At one point, the map didn’t look like anything, it was just a bunch of lines going off into different directions.

iHomeClean was working great when I purchased my first robot vacuum but this new update where they add 3D, useless, is VERY glitchy and frustrating. The S1PRO is the most glitchy of them all, sometimes it’ll pull up the map after about 10 tries and sometimes it won’t. You can’t select the map from the cleaning history as you can on other nova models.

The robot vacuum works great for the cost, it’s a great value. iHomeClean is merely okay. The biggest issue with it is that it changes your boundaries. Not sure if that happens when they update iHomeClean , but most recently it deleted all of my boundaries entirely, so the vacuum got stuck on some cords I had blocked off. Very annoying. Other than that, it’s a great value compared to the much more expensive competitors.

iHomeClean is very limited like the vacuum eclipse pro. I recently replaced a two year old knockoff and surprised the eclipse is a bit slow, stops to think of its next move. Bumps into all the furniture and walls and iHomeClean does not have much options in adding no go zones.
Not happy with my purchase.

I loved this vacuum, until iHomeClean started giving me trouble and now I can’t change my auto empty setting. I tried deleting and reconnecting it. I tried to contact support and it just brings me to a page that says check FAQ. I try and click the videos and manuals page to see what to do and it brings me back to the page that says check FAQ. No number, no FAQ, no internet chat. It’s frustrating because I just want to be able to use my vacuum.

We were gifted this vacuum so I’m new to this luxury. So far so good and I’m impressed. The vacuum does very well. I love how you can watch the vacuum work in real time on iHomeClean . Even when you’re away from home. My kids find it very amusing and so do I. I’m just finding it difficult to set zones for vacuuming and a schedule but I guess it won’t hurt to just run it and do every room for an hour since we just have a small apartment while I’m out doing errands. I haven’t used the mop feature but I’ll have to figure out how to only do the hardwood floors or if I should just close the doors that have carpet

iHomeClean works great and really enjoy the robot. One thing that just takes too long is finding the maps. There are tons of maps being created and the ones i want get lost so it would be really convenient if there was a section where you could add your maps and those will never change or move. Like a favorite or something similar would be really nice. Thank you!

So thankful for iHomeClean. I’m a new mom and life is chaotic right now. What brings me peace is having things clean. I love being able to set schedules and start and stop with iHomeClean . Cleaning feels like me time and I’m grateful for little things like this that make my new postpartum life manageable.

Definitely recommend downloading iHomeClean! Was incredibly easy to set up in 3 quick steps. I have had issues with other apps & terrible setups in the past, but iHomeClean was one of the easiest ones for me to use yet!

I was able to set this up with no problems. Nice pictures and clear instructions. I read the other reviews and it was nice to see the developer responding and giving a phone number and video link for further help.

It is really nice to have an app that caters to certain products such as this. I really like the iHome products and their app and customer service is outstanding. I have owned many of their products and will continue to purchase them because of the functionality, quality and support.

Thank you iHome for listening to your customers. I originally rated iHomeClean 1 star because of all the lost functionality from v1 to v2. But v3 and the updates have brought back the original functionality plus more. It’s definitely a better app than before with even more features. Well done. Changing my rating to 5-star!

I had trouble after the new update to iHomeClean . Customer support kept constant contact with me and helped me figure out the problem. I had to update my iPhone software and then iHomeClean worked perfectly. iHomeClean and vacuum both work like they should and I’m very impressed with the vacuum and the support team. This vacuum works better and is a lot quieter than the Roomba I previously had.

Don't bother with this Robot Vacuum! At least not the Nova S2. I have a Pitbull terrier (a Staffie), Not a big shedder. My complaints: 1. The vacuum picks up more fur on the outside than it does in the dustbin (guess that's why they call it a "Dustbin"). Started on day 1. I should have returned it back then. 2. I wanted to get supplies and the Auto empty base. guess what? The web site keeps saying "Sold Out". 3. I tried calling and e-mailing Customer support. They respond with, "Please check the web site often, when things are available it will show on the site". And they have NO idea when things will be restocked. They have a supply chain issue! 4. You don't want to get me started about the app. I will say this, you need a BIG learning curve to use it. 5. Issues 3 & 4 have been going on for at least 6 months. I do NOT recommend purchasing anything from this company!
