I love the idea of TastingGrounds. A suggestion I would make is to allow users to put in manual options that aren’t found in TastingGrounds . I enjoy going to local coffee shops and TastingGrounds usually doesn’t allow me to put them in because they aren’t that mainstream. I would also love if there was an option to keep track of specific coffee orders. I like making coffee at home but I also go out and purchase coffee and keeping track of my orders would be great.
Tasting grounds is a wonderful platform for exploration of specialty coffee. There is a lot of potential as more people share their coffee experiences to become a real social media platform around coffee. The one real complaint I have is there’s no personal journal to track my brews. When they add that, this’ll be something really special.
As someone who has been a power user and contributor to craft beer rating apps, I really like the way TastingGrounds works. It’s really easy to use and provides a bevy of options to describe your coffee very closely to how you experience it.
I would love the ability to add pictures to individual roasts that don’t have them. I have found that some of the roasts I use don’t have any info, and adding the picture of the bag would make it easier to identify which coffee roasts I’ve added.
Otherwise it’s a fantastic app and I’m very excited to track my coffee journey with tasting grounds.
I have to give credit where it’s due — really nice job developing TastingGrounds! I was looking for something similar to the Untappd app but for pour over coffee, and this not only fits the bill, but it exceeded my expectations. The “Tasting Notes” rating section is a superb feature. And the “Learn” section is incredibly detailed and legitimately helpful. I’ve already invited a few friends to join, and it’s a great way for us to share new brewing processes and notes all in one place. I’m so glad an app like this exists!
I’ve had this for a little while and so far it’s so good. I love finding new brews and roasters and the pictures help. Although I can totally see the collage aspect, would it be possible to allow multiple picture uploads? I’d love to take a picture of the grounds, and the pour, and the package.
I would also love it if we could favorite specific roasters and be notified when a new bean drops either from the roaster or from a review!
I recently stepped out of the coffee industry and have been panicking over feeling like I’m not as involved with the AZ coffee scene as I would like to be. Tasting grinds helps lower my anxiety. I’m able to share coffees im trying and figure out my favorite way to brew them and share all of that with the community over all. I’m meeting new people, making connections, and discovering other coffees. I’m obsessed with TastingGrounds. Sharing it with everyone 🤍🤍🤍
Really like the social aspect of TastingGrounds and the ability to track all the different coffees I’ve tried. It would be good to see future enhancements to track brew notes (e.g. I like to track the grind setting I used for Espresso vs Ristretto, and the grind time (I don’t bother tracking weight as that’s a little too tedious for my liking). Great app though!
The only downside at the moment was TastingGrounds ’s limited user-base. Its a great platform w/ a ton of features, but the global activity feed feels a bit sparse. Looking forward to seeing more and more people use TastingGrounds.
Great way to not only record and track your own brews/recipes, but find other coffees and recipes as well.
