My husband had a positive Covid test, as did both of my sons. My husband tried 3 times on 3 separate days, during the week that he tested positive, to get a PIN number so he could report. Tried calling and was told he had no PIN number (they saw his info in the system, but no info for PIN number—which I thought was immediately and automatically generated), and to maybe just try back another day.
Well, now he is done with his 10 day isolation, so he isn’t contagious anymore. So it is pretty pointless now to alert anyone he may have been in contact with during his first few days of contagiousness, 10+ days ago. They may already have caught it, passed it on to someone else, and added to the sad statistics of this pandemic.
Seems like they aren’t putting effort into this app anymore? Good idea, but it only works if they make it easy, or heck, even simply possible, to report.

I would bet $ that the majority of people in NC who’ve had COVID and have tried to use this app are/were in the same situation that I’m in right now…I’ve tested positive twice with @ Home tests and have no need to go to the health dept to be told other wise yet this isn’t “good enough” to be able to receive a PIN for this app. If I could, I would bet the majority of people who’ve had COVID at some point did not go to a health dept to be tested and therefore ended up being just another missed opportunity @ alerting anyone, which is what I thought this apps main purpose was for.
I had high hopes when I first downloaded this but it just turned into a big disappointment in the end unfortunately😒

I’ve had this on my phone since approximately june 2020. never received any alerts that I have been exposed leading me to believe no one uses it. Finally tested positive for COVID19 this week. attempted to report it in the app but it required a pin purportedly to prevent false reporting. said i could get a pin at a specified website or call a number. already too much work. the next day I thought about it again and decided to try to get a pin. website can’t find me and does not provide a pin. i’m done. no wonder i’ve never received a notification. no one can even report being sick. we don’t need more hoops to jump through. concerned about over-reporting? how about underreporting? SMH delete app
