It won’t track your miles.

Not only did it sign me out and erase the first 80+ miles, but it has missed logging countless other miles due to the fact that if you don’t open Gymax again before it turns off (due to safety mechanism/ powering off / or just automatically turning off after use)
BUT WAIT IT GETS WORSE!!!
Yesterday Gymax gave a notification that means,,,
You MUST have app open before ending your workout, even if the machine is still on, or it won’t log your miles.
I just finished a 4 mile walk/run and I pressed stop so I could step off ( it says to stop before stepping off ) picked up my phone immediately and Gymax was the only app open in my phone, but it counted zero. Again.
So this company expects you to be holding your phone in your sweaty hands while working out, or to keep your phone on with Gymax open for 80+ minutes at a time.
Name one other app like that! What a JOKE
I like the machine but will absolutely be buying a different brand than this in the future, just for Gymax . What a discouraging and expensive mistake buying this brand was.
I guess I should look on the bringer side.

Gymax only tracks if you start your workout in Gymax . It should connect to Gymax automatically. then it takes forever to load and for km first and you have to switch it back every single time. It doesn’t accumulate your time by day it does it for forever. You can’t pause your workout and come back. It doesn’t track in a way that is useful at all. PLEASE UPDATE. PLEASE

I lost the remote to the Superfit Treadmill. Figured Gymax would work to allow control. My $230 treadmill is now a very large paper weight. Gymax does NOTHING. Does not connect and tries to do too much and let’s you do everything EXCEPT having ability to start your treadmill. USELESS.

Is there a way to record daily activity? I can’t find anything on this and it seems like a basic capability for a treadmill app. I don’t care about any of the social stuff, just need to record my activity. Is there another app out there that can do that?

I can put up with all the Chinese but was disappointed to see the pause button no longer pausing my progress but ending the workout and resetting the metrics. A pause feature is missing on both the remote and app during walking mode.

The leaderboard and online users are incredibly distracting UI elements to be displayed when running, as well as the silly map background. This would not be a problem if there was an option to toggle those off, but there is not. No one needs these pointless features. I would rather have improved performance and connectivity instead of these unhelpful game features.

i started a running plan but it says completed after 3rd level. I was stuck so had to restart. Today i had to restart because i got stuck at level 8, it wont progress any more. Please have somebody look at it or i will probably leave a bad review on each of your product listed online. Because the software make it unusable. Half of the price is for the “smartness”.

Constant crashes. Won’t save any personal data. You can’t pause your session. You have to stop then start a new one. It won’t track your progress unless you start the machine from Gymax itself.

Doesn’t record activity unless you turn on the treadmill from Gymax . You cannot pause it and come back. You have to end the session and start a new one. I would like to see a chart or something of my daily, weekly, month activity. Gymax seems to be made by someone who is not fluent in English and could use a native speaker to look over spelling issues.

I really like the fact that I am able to use my phone as a control for the treadmill, however, I downloaded Gymax and Gymax icon is nowhere to be found on my phone! I have to go into Gymax Store to look for the icon every time that I need to do anything with the treadmill. It’s a bit of an inconvenience.

The title says it all. Event logging only occurs under very specific circumstances, and even then I am confident I have missed events. More frustrating is lack of integration with HealthKit, which makes every event log all the more important because I need this information to manually create a workout to track my progress. The treadmill performs ok, even better than my (low) expectations. However Gymax does not lend itself to being useful. I keep paper and pencil nearby to write down the data.

No option to change unit as advertised. The manual shows that Settings lets you change the Unit to Metric from Imperial but Unit is NOT a menu option. I don’t want to calculate pounds into kilograms. Quite annoying…

Gymax doesn’t even match mileage showing on my treadmill. No option to walk instead of run. Weight and height isn’t in pounds or feet.

I use Gymax to track my miles, calories and time. Gymax picks and chooses when it wants to connect to my treadmill. Thank god I have the remote to turn it on and off but unfortunately when Gymax doesn’t work I can’t record my activity. Restarted, turned Bluetooth on and off, turned wifi on and off, unplugged the treadmill and restarted my phone. No updates available. Struggling to even find online support to correct the issue.

My remote’s battery died and wanted to be able to use the treadmill while waiting for my new batteries to come in, found Gymax, and it’s been an easy replacement for the remote altogether. That said, it doesn’t track miles. I don’t NEED it to, I really only got it for the remote function, but I was glad to have the tracking function when I saw it was part of Gymax , but it’s just completely useless. It stops tracking around 15 seconds, every time.

I hope they develop this further because there’s a lot of potential it’s just not there yet. I use it regularly and wish there were some quality of life improvements like muting the loud beeping from the treadmill or filtering the ranking of other people to just the people in your contacts.

I’m glad there’s an app to control the treadmill in case the remote gets lost. I’d love to see updates with some more features — syncing with Apple Health would be awesome so I could have all my fitness data in one place. It would be nice to be able to control the speakers from Gymax rather than having to pair them separately. An option to turn the beeping down or off would be great as well.

If only it had Apple Health integration (so my hard earned miles get added there) the UI would not matter as much, it’d be an app you just turn on to make sure it captures your treadmill stats. Without it, it makes it seem unfinished.

Gymax or the remote is the only to control the Costway treadmill we have. The remote doesn’t always work, so we tend to use Gymax . Unfortunately, Gymax is as unreliable. It often cannot connect, even after restarting the treadmill, Gymax and the phone. It becomes irritating when it impacts the workout. I’ve had to call someone to turn the power off to the treadmill when the remote and app malfunction during use.

App works for the treadmill. Could be better, could be worse.
