HabitRabbit is cute and simple, which I like. Complexity takes attention away from the point - tracking habits. However, HabitRabbit did not give a tutorial to move through it and I found myself experiencing a steep learning curve with all the unlabeled icons to access checklists and habits.
Also, right out of the gate, after HabitRabbit made it clear that the game is to collect carrots by completing tasks and reinforcing good habits, it gave me a hook of watching ads for carrots. This is offered 3 times a day, offering double or triple rewards if done more than once consecutively. This feels totally counterintuitive and absolutely distracting. I want to do beneficial things in real life to earn rewards, not distract myself with mindless ads.
There are also short ads built into HabitRabbit , which I guess is ok since it’s free.
Another issue is that you can’t set more than 1 high priority goal and no more than 3 medium priority goals in the free version. Not worth it, in my opinion. There are many others out there, Habitica being a really good option for one.
