🏷️ About:
Whether you’re running, jogging, or just walking—Run Across America is a simple and fun way to stay active, each and every day. Keep track of your activity, earn badges for your achievements, and connect with others in the Run Across America app.
Went for a hike and when I had finished and hit stop, it would not let me select “mark as finished.” I’ve closed out RunAcrossAmerica , restarted my phone and still when I open RunAcrossAmerica back up it’s still still stuck on my last run. I can stop the time, but I can’t finish the run or close out RunAcrossAmerica . I can’t use it to track any future runs because it’s in a loop that won’t let me close it out. My only option is to delete the whole thing and start over. I’m better off tracking it all myself with my usual running apps.
Not impressed

RunAcrossAmerica needs a lot of work!!!! The interface is not user friendly. When you log your results, there is an option to add a photo, but the photo never appears with your results. You can take a selfie after posting your results, but there are no privacy settings so your selfie is posted with your teams, but is also posted publicly!! Why isn’t there an option to ONLY display my photo to my teams? Or to keep my photo private? There is also no means for interaction with your team. A team message board would be nice so we can post encouraging comments to one another. It would also be nice if you could send a challenge to another team member or to the entire team, or even just make a team goal. The only team function is that we can see the total km run. Surely you can do better than this??
Last update messed it all up

I have been on a few runs since the most recent update and each time it has messed up my run distance. It seems that when I get to 5km it all of a sudden changes to 3.1km and so I am not getting credit for all of the distance I am trying to track for a challenge. I have tried to dispute the times but no one is replying to me and I find it frustrating. RunAcrossAmerica was great until the most recent update, and I will be trying a different app.
Fun though inaccurate

It’s been fun to have an overall idea of how many KMs I have run/hiked/skied over an extended period of time.
The latest update made the distance accuracy laughable. I hit 40k crossing the street the other day. Since I know many of the distances I often run, I just edit the distance at the end of the activity.
I wish RunAcrossAmerica worked - even as a timer - when offline. It generally won’t load at all if you don’t have a network connection.
This has a lot of great features but every time I’ve tried to use it it just decides to stop recording my run. I had a similar problem with Strava as well so the fact that Strava is the only app you can import from doesn’t help me. I’ll have to use my Relive tracker and import the info manually and see if that helps. Today I couldn’t get it to track accurately and then I couldn’t get it to stop my run. Had to delete RunAcrossAmerica after restarting my iPhone didn’t help.
Buggy, doesn’t track well

Cool way to take part in virtual races, but RunAcrossAmerica does a terrible job of tracking. Sometimes tracks less than other apps, sometimes fails to log at all. My family of four are each frequently forced to manually log our times and distances even after we walked the extra distance for RunAcrossAmerica to track the amount we were supposed to do.
UI needs work.

I’ve missed out on a couple of badges because RunAcrossAmerica doesn’t make it clear how they work. The first time I did the distance but didn’t realize that awarding the badge wasn’t automatic—you have to tap the button for the special event. The second time I “entered the race” but didn’t finish the distance, so no badge—and no opportunity to try again before the deadline. Boo. RunAcrossAmerica really isn’t designed well for those of us who log walking distance in the course of daily life, not as a dedicated workout. And the fact that it takes multiple taps to start logging distance is annoying.
Ok, but not my favorite

I’ve used Runkeeper for a few years and then got this one to participate in the Holiday Hustle. Overall, it works, but some of the UI could be much smoother. I don’t like that I can’t start a run from the first screen. Also, changing from manual mode to having RunAcrossAmerica track it is more complicated than it should be…you have to go to a settings thing that’s in tiny text, and then that becomes the default. As someone who does both app track and manual entries, that really stinks.
Step tracking

Although difficult to find, RunAcrossAmerica does have apple health tracking capabilities. I didn’t find it until writing one weak review THEN trying to manually log my own steps for my current challenge (hence my increase in stars). I think sync options should be easier to locate when someone initially signs up for a race. Additionally, I think more step tracking options besides Apple Health stats would be an improvement.
RunAcrossAmerica is a lot of fun. Participating in the different runs with bonus 5ks and other races along the way is a great way to keep me motivated. I love being able to see the leaderboards and joining multiple teams - keeps competitive people like me interested!

One of the tools I rely on to keep my recent T2 Diabetes diagnosis in check. With RunAcrossAmerica , I compete against myself by setting goals and then working hard to surpass them. Run Across America has provided the motivation to put my wellness first, where ever I am. Let’s get moving!!

What a neat app. Really is so much better then the other apps out there.
Team selfies, being able to be on multiple teams is cool. They just added badges which are pretty sweet as well.
Inviting my whole family for turkey trot. Because ya know thanksgiving is cancelled everywhere ... trying to have some fun
A lifetime achievement!

I’ve always wanted to be a runner but have encountered limitations and knee pain since track in high school. A co- worker invited me to this challenge and I went for 100km with big doubts that I would actually do it. RunAcrossAmerica and the team was fun, easy to use, and very motivating. I ran (slowly sometime) every time I went out, but really liked the fact that I did this at my own pace and speed. The badges were a nice touch. Overall- especially in light of COVID- this got me out of the house and moving which is really hard since I work from home. Already set up our next team and looking forward to more !
Great once you figure the site out

I started this with the 2020 Holiday Hustle. Loved it. Since then it’s been confusing to continue with each subsequent challenge. I’ve paid for the Summer Splash, friends have started (we are a team) but my app hasn’t update. Frustrating to say the least.
I’ve been using RunAcrossAmerica for almost a year now participating in each seasonal challenge. I’m a daily dog walker and would do so even without RunAcrossAmerica or challenge. But it doesn’t hurt to get a 5K thrown in every now and then or just the extra motivation that setting a distance goal brings. Badges are rewarded. Some people share selfies. Just makes it more fun. I just wish it worked with Apple health or fitness so I didn’t have to do manual entries every day.
Great motivator

I have used RunAcrossAmerica for 1 year. I am 61 and who knew how motivating badges could be? 😂 Using RunAcrossAmerica has helped me to become more consistent with exercising. I created a team with family members and we create a distance goal each season. RunAcrossAmerica is very easy to use. I love seeing where I placed on the leaderboard after a race.

Fantastic Group and App - gets and keeps you motivated to move no matter your age or size. The RAA Team keeps it interesting with a reward system (virtual badges), new doable challenges, great T-shirts, and a responsive Team in the background that takes suggestions, answers questions and updates RunAcrossAmerica . Join RAA - it won’t disappoint!
Walking Across America for a Great Cause

I have been walking 5 miles a day around my neighborhood, about 5-6 times a week, since Covid hit. Recently it’s been hard to stay motivated and when I saw the Run Across America challenge I saw my motivation! Virtual badges are fun to earn, but knowing I’m helping to feed those in need is just the motivation I craved! Give it a try!!!
Love this app!

My friends and I agreed to all sign up for the fall challenge, and it has been an absolute blast! The motivation is definitely there and I love all the challenges. The shirt that came with signing up is really quality, and the tracker is pretty accurate for time/distance/location. Looking forward to signing up for the winter challenge too.
I needed winter motivation. This is my second winter with RAA, and I’m back to getting in/exceeding all the KM I need each day. I don’t use the social/selfie aspects but that would be fun if your friends signed up as well. I don’t have an Apple Watch, so I love the convenience of starting “go” in RunAcrossAmerica and it maps and times beautifully. Plus a “race day” style tshirt. To me, the cost of RunAcrossAmerica and shirt equates to a 10k or half-marathon one-day event, so I feel like I’m getting a bargain.
Stopped working at the end of my race

I was doing the 5k today and happened to check RunAcrossAmerica at 4.17k. Walked 15 more minutes, was listening to a podcast and not paying close attention, then realized RunAcrossAmerica was no longer tracking me on the map. Still reported 4.17k. I hit “stop” and it said “You haven’t walked far enough.” According to RunAcrossAmerica , I didn’t finish the event. 😫
Stopped working

The distance portion of RunAcrossAmerica stopped working at 4.4k. It had been great up to that point telling me each kilometer I had finished. The only way I got a legitimate tint was to use another app. Thank goodness I had another app running just in case. So frustrating not to have it work at the crucial end.
Stops Too Often

Seems 50% of the time RunAcrossAmerica just randomly stops in the middle of a run. Very disappointing but now run with a back up just in case.

Only recorded about 2/3 of my run. Not sure what happened. Thankfully I had Strava as my back up. Maybe link RunAcrossAmerica so that it automatically connects to Strava. Yes.fit does that and I really like that feature.
