Half the time, when you open a notification it just opens to CBSLosAngeles home screen. Also, it doesn’t seem like the home screen refreshes to the latest stories.

Orange County local stories are always just advertisements for things like “7 best convenience stores in Irvine.”

Also, app stories just redirect you to the browser. I’m using CBSLosAngeles because I don’t want to always open stories on a browser.

You guys should really consider putting an option for watching the governors updates or watching live news. For example, when governor Newsom is giving his updates about COVID-19 you guys always tell us to head over to CBSLA to watch the rest, but what if we don’t want to watch the rest, what if we just want to watch the news and not the updates? We are forced to watch the updates, when some of us would much rather watch the stories that are being televised live.

Every time I try to watch a livestream of news or just try to watch videos in general, CBSLosAngeles crashes. I try to access a news headline, CBSLosAngeles crashes. I don’t know if it’s my phone, but I don’t have any other problems with any of the apps on my phone except for this one.

In addition to having to watching an ad before breaking news, watching full screen is impossible unless you rotate to portrait. This is the equivalent of having your cellphone in the wrong position during filming.
In addition, when a breaking news notification pops up, clicking the link only opens CBSLosAngeles , but you still have to search for it. By the time you find it, breaking news is old news, you’ve missed the boat. 😡

How is it even possible to have such a terrible app for Los Angeles when your running two separate Great channels off of here? For one thing it is beyond annoying not to be able to read and view in Landscape (most people use iPads in Landscape), your videos take Forever to load or simply don’t load (I have no problem loading others), I’m not going on.
Kindly get a NEW App designer who will Give LA an App that represents us. Your coverage of LA is SPOT ON, Not the Fluff but Please not White.

When I open it up to read an article, IT CRASHES! I was fine with your previous app. It ACTUALLY worked. You should not have pushed your followers to upgrade unless it really was an upgrade. AN UPGRADE WORKS. If this isn’t fixed soon (like yesterday). Then I’ll have to rely on your competitors for my local news information.
I’ll have no choice than to delete an app that doesn’t work and just uses up space.
I’m beyond disappointed in your product.

So earlier this week my KCAL9 app stopped streaming live and I have to download this new version. This new version keeps crashing, takes extremely long to load, and when I’m using VPN CBSLosAngeles will keep crashing. Without the VPN, when it’s the only app running, it will crash, and my phone will crash also, or it will severely slowing down the phone for about a minute. Bottom line, do not download this new version u til they release a fix for it.

The whole app is very sluggish (won’t scroll smoothly). Because of that you have to leave your finger in one place for a while waiting for it to respond so you can scroll. When you do this it thinks you’re tapping on a story and sometimes acts like a click instead of scroll.

App can barely be used. I’d be embarrassed to have put this out. The CBS app that preceded it was better but they recommended switching to this one.

The new update, that we HAD to update to, is terrible! The notifications only take you directly to CBSLosAngeles , where you have to search for what you want to view. What’s the point of getting notifications, if it is only going to take you to CBSLosAngeles , and not the story that you received the notification for? What a waste of time! Guess it’s time to delete CBSLosAngeles and find some other news source.

Not being able to swipe right or left to the next story is kind of clunky and time consuming. I shouldn’t have to go back to the main menu to select the next story.

The old app worked fairly well. I could watch the nightly news, on my iPad, or with airplay on my TV monitor. Rarely had a problem. The new app is completely worthless. It crashes every 8-10 seconds, and doesn’t work long enough to even connect with airplay. Don’t waste your time- it is a completely frustrating experience.

Every time I open CBSLosAngeles it crashes and makes my phone freeze. The old app never did that. The only reason I upgraded to this is because it forced me to or I couldn’t use CBSLosAngeles . Turns out it didn’t matter because CBSLosAngeles doesn’t work properly anyways.

When I click on the icon to view the video that appears above the news article it's for the weather or trailers for the shows airing on CBS.

App kept crashing out about 3 seconds after launching and arriving at Home page on iOS 13.4.1. Crashes have stopped after upgrading to iOS 13.5.

8/10 times CBSLosAngeles crashes before I can read one story. Fix the bugs.

CBSLosAngeles won’t stay open long enough for you to even read the first paragraph of a news story! The old App wasn’t great by any means. Half the stories were weeks old but this new App is ten times worse. Why even bother, CBS? All CBSLosAngeles does is drive readers to your competitors.

The previous CBSLA app worked much better than this version. It’s slow, often crashes, and lacks an effective use of modern user interfaces. Feel like a major step back from a user perspective.

The banner updates still come through, but then I have to google the story from a competitor because CBSLosAngeles crashes every time I open it.

7/1/20 - how is this still not fixed?

It only appears as about 2x3 inches on my iPad and doesn’t rotate as do ALL OTHER NEWS APPS I HAVE. This is the worst functioning, most badly designed news app you could possibly imagine. It really should be rated as zero stars.

Like everyone else has been saying. It crashes right away. Why would one change CBSLosAngeles all together from one that works to one that doesn’t?

CBSLosAngeles takes a long time to load then shuts down after about 10-15 seconds.
