I like the design and minamistic aesthetic. Other calendars are just too much and not pleasing to the eye. But I wish it had an option to see time blocks in my day so I can better plan where I have free time and can see it. I’m a very visual person to where standard calendars can be overwhelming but then not mapping out the day can be hard to visualize.. if that makes sense. And then I don’t like that my this app app on my phone does not sync to my this app app on my laptop. It’s too tedious to have to retype everything onto my laptop... And I paid full price for Dawn 🥴 mmm...idk

I downloaded Dawn for the widget, like most people, but I have also been using it as my main calendar because of the convenience... it’s a struggle to get thing right, I can’t tell you how many tries it took to get just my work schedule right... Dawn is so glitchy. I’ll go to add something and it will either show up multiple times on the same day, sometimes not even the right day I put it for, I schedule something to repeat every month on say the 24th and it’s like ok so this is going to happen on the 5th and the 24th or 6 times on the 18th, there’s no rhyme or reason for how it decides it wants to do things. I just want Dawn to be less glitchy because I love how simple it is. Also would love an option to change color schemes and maybe the default view when you open Dawn

Looks so promising and receives updates. Can’t wait to see what’s added next. Also the widgets are fantastic.

My current issue is I didn’t realize until after paying but there is no way to see my calendars colors. So I can’t tell or filter by work or personal. Gets a little confusing sometimes as I have many different calendars. I’d like to see this added.

Like a lot of people, I downloaded Dawn because I was looking for a simple calendar widget that would look great on my Home Screen. It accomplishes that, and for the most part, I’m happy with it.

I sync this app with different Calendars that originate with my Google or Apple calendars. It handles most of my synced events fine, if they have a fixed date (like “lunch with Grandma on Oct. 15th). Stuff gets weird when it has to display events that repeat at odd intervals, like biweekly or every 4 weeks. I had one event from my iCal that repeats every 4 weeks that this app was displaying every single week.

And some events it’ll straight up copy over an incorrectly. Right now, it’s telling me that Daylight savings will take place on Nov. 3rd, instead of the 1st. The date on my iCal is correct, so I don’t know why it thinks this.

Overall, I’m happy with it. But it would be really great if those issues could be fixed.

This is my favorite calendar app ever, and I’ve tried probably 20+. Novel nav, clean and simple, and I love how I can filter the Space view. I purchased the lifetime subscription because I believe in it, and I’ve also emailed the developer about fixing punctuation errors (distracting) and asked if certain elements were intentional or not. I wish it was faster to update when I make a change, but I endure that because I like everything else about.

Hey! Absolutely love Dawn. It’s very easy to use and the layout definitely stands out amongst competitors. Dawn offers a very sleek design although I do have a couple of things bro recommended that may improve Dawn .
1. Dawn would benefit is you could check or swipe a task to complete instead of deleting it when completed- especially for daily tasks.
2. Allow daily reminders to have notes edited individually by date
3. Make a widget that shows your spaces instead of just Time and calendar

I love the clean, simple look. The widget is the main reason I got Dawn . I love the way it display’s today’s date, but don’t like that it prioritizes all-day events and that there’s no option for turning off all-day events. It covers my meetings I have for the day, so it doesn’t give me a true overview. If it showed more options to customize the display for the widget, that’d be ideal. I use it for work and it’s difficult not being able to see meetings for the day in the morning.

I have never written an app review but Dawn /widget is so well done that it deserves 5 stars plus. It has been a long time since I’ve gotten excited about an app, as it doesn’t happen very often. The this app app immediately made my iPhone a much more useful device. The ease of adding and viewing task/reminders is so well thought out. Just wow. And the tiny footprint is even more amazing. I am happily subscribed and look forward to tomorrow’s events! Keep up the great work!

I just started a new job and I’ve been using Dawn for about a a week, I really like it. It’s simple, pretty, and makes organizing my day really easy. A feature I would like would be if when I’m adding a new task, I would like to choose what time the the time-scroll-bar starts. Maybe in the settings or something. Thank you!

i wanted to get a separate calendar app to use for all of my homework assignments for school, and i stumbled upon this app. the icon is what first caught my eye; sleek, simple & cute. I downloaded it & started exploring how to use it... it’s suuuper easy.

my favorite feature is sub tasks. i use the class title & week as my “Task” and then put each assignment that due for that day for that class in as sub tasks. i have a busy class schedule with a lot of assignments, so being able to keep it so organized like that is clutch.

in the Spaces section, i created a ‘Space’ for each class. i customized the icons also, i LOOOOVVEEED how many color options there were and was glad you could click on the color name and change the colors manually (at first i didn’t realize you could do that, so i was just sitting there clicking the icon & having it change to random combos for AWHILE 😅😂). once in the Space, i created a List for each week’s module and added tasks in with the name (i did not put a date/time on the tasks in Spaces because i had already made Tasks on the actual calendar part of Dawn )

overall, i’m super super happy with this app so far. lol, i literally just downloaded Dawn earlier tonight but still, i’m impressed. i’m NOT the type of person that usually writes reviews but i had to tonight because Dawn earned it.

Hello, I previously wrote a review that was 3/5 stars, my only wish to have more flexibility on when you can be reminded. The developers of this app listened to my request and added it! Thank you so much devs. Dawn is now a 5/5 app. It has helped me so much when remembering things without needing to set alarms thanks to the widget feature, and now that I’m able to choose when to be reminded more precisely (etc., every Mon, Tues, and Thurs), it’s been just so great. Thank you so much!

I HATE standard calendar/planner apps. Google Calendar? Hate it. Default calendar app? Hate it.
Why? Because there are way too many things going on. It’s overly complicated for my needs and is overwhelming and demotivating. Too many options, too many holidays, just too much. So, I don’t use them.
With the new iPhone update I really wanted some widgets to customize my home screen. I wanted a calendar view that was streamlined, simple, and cute.
This is a dream come true. There isn’t anything I’d change about the design or user interface. It’s reminiscent of the Tappsk App in it’s simplicity, accessibility, and style.

I will say I had once that the widget wouldn’t update with my daily stuff. But I just quickly removed and re-added the widget to my Home Screen. I didn’t have to uninstall Dawn itself or anything and it’s back to normal.

Was only using this because the calendar widget was solid black which matched my background. Still the most beautiful calendar small widget currently available but will be back on the hunt for solid black :/ App is alright, I find the way to add events to my calendar is more tedious than the stock and timepage calendar, it’s also the most expensive of those mentioned. I love the heatmap on the widget but on weekends it’s too transparent to see if you only have 1 event.

Quick fix on the widget, thank you! Pricing is cheaper than Timepage monthly but not yearly, could be some discount they are running at the time of review. I appreciate having the option for a one time purchase unlike timepage, this is the most likely purchasing option for me. I would like to see the monthly view adjusted somehow. I really like having a quick one swipe to enter month view. As well as it filling the whole page while keeping an easy way to view other months. I’m not a fan of the card that pops up when you select a day in the month view. Feels like it breaks the ux. I love the salmon color theme but it would be nice to have the option to have a custom accent color as well as a solid black dark mode as an option. I’ll look forward to the heat map adjustment. And I think the only thing I find slower when adding a task is scrolling horizontally for the time, it looks really clean though. Changing 4* to 5* because I love the developers responses to everyone :)

Hi, I’m so glad to hear a true black icon option will be in the works. On a different note, I’ve noticed in the other reviews that time blocking is a popular request, and I get that from a productivity perspective. HOWEVER, I would like to request that that feature be optional, with a toggle in settings, because I’m currently in love with Dawn ’s minimalist, line-free design. Line blocking is useful but also visually messy. I really love Dawn and will purchase again on my nee work phone when it arrives.

Hi, please allow users the ability to change Dawn icon. Many apps offer a variety of colors, including and especially a true black icon to take advantage of our phone OLED screens. I enjoy your app but the bright white icon stands out in a bad way on my dark phone screen.

If you’re looking for a calendar/to do list app, this is the one! It’s fantastic since it’s free! but definitely worth upgrading to premium “this app suite” status !! It has a beautiful aesthetic interface , easy to navigate with places to put your “time” (daily events , special occasions , anything regarding time) & “spaces” which is exclusive to “this app suite” where you can categorize your lists & notes. I use Dawn daily & it has become one of my essentials since I can do so much within Dawn while still being minimal & easy to use!!!

Now that widgets are becoming a serious thing for ios, I've been testing out which calendar app has the best widgets for my taste. I've been testing this one, Calendar and Google Calendar. This one by far has the best look and utility (for my taste).

I also really really appreciate that I can set Dawn to light mode (bc I like the white background) and still keep the rest of my phone in dark mode. I really wish more apps had this option!!

One thing that would make Dawn even better would be if after a certain time (maybe after 6pm or so, or after all your events for the day have passed), the widget can show the events for tomorrow. The ios Calendar widget does that which I find super useful, though overall I find that app too cluttery.

I have the this app widgets on my first homescreen, so having tomorrows event outlined in the widget in the afternoon/evening hours really helps me prepare for the next day! Just a suggestion that I hope the developers will consider! ☺️

from the user experience, user interface, to even the haptics of Dawn when you check things off is absolutely incredible. everything about Dawn is intuitive makes sense you can type on text and edit it immediately rather than entering a new page to edit events like other calendar apps! are used on to streamline a lot of the systems and habits and routines in my life, and it has helped me build a solid morning, nighttime, and study routine on a daily basis. Thank you so much to the creators of Dawn, you really transformed my life.

i love this app. i use it mostly as a to do list to make sure i've done all my chores, because compartementalizing my day helps me a lot and this app is BY FAR the least stressful calendar/to do list app i've found for that!

however, i think the recent update broke something? i'm no longer able to tap to mark tasks as "done", and some of my repeating reminders have migrated to days they shouldn't be on.

it's a little stressful, because like i said, this is definitely the easiest app when it comes to making to do lists for me! so i'm really hoping it's just a bug from the update and not me... thank you for Dawn!!

Please make this Apple Watch compatible! I feel like the minimalist design would be so much better for it than the currently available calendar apps. I got this app and have been messing around with it before committing to spending money on the full version. So far I love the layout, and although it took me a few mins to find everything, it’s now incredibly easy and intuitive to use. It’s also so pretty! I was looking for a calendar app with a widget and this one is perfect. It has all the info I need without any extra clutter. The developer is also very friendly and responded quickly when I had a question. If you are on the fence just download it!

First off I absolutely love Dawn and the way the calendar works, super simple and easy to use without many things to worry about. I do however wish there was a better layout for the iPad ( I use it on my iPad & phone) and wished I could be able to have any calendar dates I’ve written on my phone this app app be TRANSFERED to my iPad automatically (unless there is a way) that way I’m not re writing the same tasks and appointments down twice. I love how Dawn is simple and works and plan to buy the lifetime subscription on my next pay day. It’s beautiful and I love it more than any other calendar apps I found, this one keeps me motivated to get things done, just hope we can have a better layout for iPad and to be able to have the apps transfer to one another if we use it on multiple devices. There’s a problem with the light and dark mode??? I made this app a widget and there’s no way to change back the appearance.

I really want to love Dawn it is so pretty! I downloaded it because of its widget appearance and love the concept. It is a bit slow to respond though and will freeze while Dawn is refreshing, this happens every time I open or swipe to a different screen. In addition you also have to enter Dawn for the widget to refresh your upcoming events which is a bummer. Lastly, I’m a visual learner so I wish there was an option for something similar to Apple or google cals where you can see things physically blocked out in your calendar. I see the developers are responding to people which is why I’m reviewing because I’d love to continue to use Dawn with these fixes!

There’s a beauty in simplicity, and Dawn nails it. It also wasted no time in putting together an array of widgets (although why these widgets waste space with future months seems a bit strange). However, I’m not sure about the value proposition, given that it’s essentially just a slightly new skin on data it pulled from a single app.

Amazing idea and love the ux but it doesn’t enable you to sync with your existing calendar, which is a key part of an mvp for a customer like me :(

Hope they build an integration with google calendar ASAP!!!

I deleted Dawn when it told me that today was still yesterday. Need an app that knows what actual day it is. Looks nice though.

I like the minimalist design. Some suggestions for future improvements
- I would love a dedicated version for the iPad that would sync with my phone
- widget version showing upcoming events across the full width of the widget. Not a lot fits in they way it is oriented currently.
- app feels a bit laggy to me. Since it is minimalist, it would seem like it could be optimized for a faster experience
- change the todo to check boxes

I love Dawn, it goes with my theme very well and I love the minimalist look! Definitely an amazing app/planner. However, I did take off a star because I noticed a bug where every now and then Dawn will freeze out of nowhere and the only way to make it go away is to restart Dawn . Not sure if it's just me..

It’s a beautiful app but I would like to know if it’s possible to change it from the standard pink/red color? In old screenshots it looks like this use to be a feature. There’s definitely some lag every time you add an event, hopefully that’s just due to iOS 14 and will be fixed soon. Dawn definitely needs more complex options for repeating tasks/events. Right now I’m just synching form my iCloud calendar which has options to repeat things every 3rd week, or repeat weekly on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and such. When selecting the color of a new space it would be nice to see all the available options instead of cycling through them all. The widget is good but it’d be cool if the “good morning” text also used my name like I’ve seen done with the scriptable widget. Thanks for making this and considering my feedback!

Had a planner but realized im more of a tech planner so I switched to Dawn! personally use Dawn for reminders of small tasks i need to do throughout my day and most importantly my college assignments and due dates! The free features are all that I need so I appreciate it. As for the layout and design, it's so pretty and simple! Dawn is very easy to use. Definitely deserves more recognition. Looking forward to new features in the future.

ps the widgets are an awesome addition to see what i have going on for the day without having to open Dawn :)

Dawn is well thought out, minimal, and intuitive. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in a calendar app. Do NOT sleep on this one!

This design should be followed by many UI and UX designer simple and functional... thank you for your efforts.
