When we needed it most, it vanished

Once was a time, where the world was at peace. I had a wife, kids, and friends, this was my family. We all lived in this edenic world where everything was perfect. A town, where everyone could rest and be at ease. This was all thanks to blokada, it blocked ads, had a vpn, and most importantly, it was free, but then the fire nation attacked. Our very protectors who swore to keep us safe betrayed us. They started to force us to pay and our free trial had expired. No free trial existed prior to the announcement, they stopped blocking ads, we then realized that it was a lie, this whole time. We did the best we could to protect ourselves, but it was futile. My friends, wife, my kids, all slaughtered in cold blood. I sat in the ruins of our once humble town surrounded by ones whom I was closest to, I was sad, angry, and filled with grief, I had been trolled. To think that this was a free application would be a lie. To think that AdBlockerVPNDNS protected us and swore to do so, is a lie. AdBlockerVPNDNS is a lie. Don’t get blokada, it will ruin everything. I sit here, in my temple upon a mountain, meditating, training. Preparing myself to be ready, ready for my revenge, on this scam of an app. Once again, don’t get blokada. It is terrible, and I will never come back again, ever.

A little issue

Before I decided to write a review on AdBlockerVPNDNS I read the other reviews and it seems like other people who have downloaded AdBlockerVPNDNS have the same problem that I am having. I’ve had AdBlockerVPNDNS for a good bit of time and it worked really well, no adds on any apps (or websites) popped up for me. Until this one game I started playing popped up an add. So I went to AdBlockerVPNDNS to make sure it was on and it wasn’t so I turned it on and it kept asking me to subscribe to their monthly or yearly plan. I’ve never had to pay for AdBlockerVPNDNS and it never stated I was using a free trial so I was confused. Then after checking on AdBlockerVPNDNS Store and reading these reviews I noticed everyone else has to same issues. But then I also noticed people with AdBlockerVPNDNS had wifi problems, then I remembered that I did to and the wifi for my whole family was going out a couple of times. I’m pretty sure AdBlockerVPNDNS had something to do with it. I don’t have any plans on spending money on AdBlockerVPNDNS so I will be deleting it, but I did work really well the time I had it.

A traitor among men.

During the dark ages of the pandemic there was one app. One saving grace. One thing we felt like we could rely upon. Blokada. Come the time where restrictions are being lifted, schools are back and it had almost been the end of a dark era… he snuck upon us and stabbed us in the back. We would open our phones only to realize our ads weren’t being blocked and our vpn not active but blokada was still on our phones. Opening AdBlockerVPNDNS we expected that it just randomly shut off (it did that very occasionally) and when we opened it we were met with disgust and horror. Blokada had informed us that our “free trial” was up. “But I didn’t sign up for a free trial” we thought. But Blokada just smiled and said “your trial has ended” as he thrust his blade of ads in our backs and abandoned us to the wayside. He was the chosen one. But he turned into the very thing he sought to destroy. Blokada is an app I will not be returning to after this betrayal without notice. Goodbye old friend…

What an unprofessional way to handle a major change

So, Blokada updates on my iPad this morning. Suddenly no ads being blocked , nada. Go to AdBlockerVPNDNS and get the free trial has expired message. Uh, what free trial? So, I'm not completely dense, I see what's happened. I decide AdBlockerVPNDNS is worth keeping at least for the free trial period while I decide what to do. But, after following instructions and signing up for trial nothing works, no ads being blocked. Not only couldn't they bother to warn us about the change they couldn't tell us how to correctly keep using AdBlockerVPNDNS . Bottom line, the vpn that Blokada had been using needs to go away. So, I just removed and reinstalled app, chose the Blokada dns and everything seems to be working fine. Sad thing is this is an app I will happily pay for when it is working well. I just have a big pet peeve about poor communications at best and purposely hiding the Change until it occurs at worse. This either shows, bad judgment , ineptitude, arrogance, disrespect or maybe all the above. Bottom line, it torques me off the way I was treated as a customer. Minus stars for you until I cool down. Maybe later I'll revise but for now that's what you deserve for not being upfront and honest.

Bamboozled..

I can't begin to tell you how upsetting this is..I absolutely loved AdBlockerVPNDNS. It did what it was supposed to do. I had AdBlockerVPNDNS for months and was super impressed with it. I even visited their website and read a bunch of their forums. So I feel a little taken aback by their approach. I'm not sure if you guys just got greedy or whatever. But I think you guys are doing yourself a disservice. I know a lot of people are probably just going to delete AdBlockerVPNDNS instead of paying for it like you would have hoped. No one is going to feel good about SUDDENLY with no notice pay for something that was FREE when they downloaded it. And now requires a paid subscription when it fit not require one before the new update. It seems greedy. I will not be spending $$ on AdBlockerVPNDNS due to such bad business practices. I will be deleting AdBlockerVPNDNS.

Maybe…

When I first downloaded AdBlockerVPNDNS around 2-3 months ago, it was working perfectly fine. But about a month into using AdBlockerVPNDNS, my Wi-Fi suddenly shuts down for around 3 weeks. Now at first, I did not know what was causing this to happen, so I had to use my IPad for 3 weeks until AdBlockerVPNDNS deletes itself and my phone suddenly starts working again. Now I realized that AdBlockerVPNDNS deleted itself so I downloaded it again. Then my Wi-Fi shuts down, again. So I went to the settings and realized my VPN was acting up. So the only VPN I had on my phone was your app, Blockada. So I deleted AdBlockerVPNDNS and suddenly it starts working again. That’s when I realized that your app was the problem. For some dumb reason I decided to download it again and then it said that I had a description. Now I’m confused because AdBlockerVPNDNS was supposed to be free. Unless I get some information about what’s going on I will not be downloading AdBlockerVPNDNS again. Have a wonderful day and get to me when you can!

Worked a treat, but after an Apple update, Blokada took the nuclear option in response

So before the 6.0 update, AdBlockerVPNDNS worked great. Then Apple changed things about the way Blokada interacted with the system and it still worked, just Less so. Instead of continuing to allow users access to the limited version of AdBlockerVPNDNS while explaining the limits and up selling the "Complete" solution, they decided to axe everything but the paid solution with no warning.

This is a Terrible way to handle such a drastic change. Especially when the fault was Originally Apple's. Instead of working with their users after Apple's change, they decided to go ham on the paid subscriptions while trying to blame Apple exclusively. Something that would have been accurate had they not gutted AdBlockerVPNDNS . ;?

It was awesome before, and possibly great now, but the way this change was handled means I can't really trust them not to break things unnecessarily going forward.

Yes & no

Ok so this would have gotten a five IF it didn’t stop everything on my phone so when I got it I tested it on a game I knew had a lot of ads and the first time it didn’t work but then it started to work and I was surprised but then no pictures would pop up like let’s say I was on SoundCloud none of the song pictures came up it was just gray and so I turned AdBlockerVPNDNS off for the five minutes and my SoundCloud started back up and I couldn’t go onto AdBlockerVPNDNS Store because it was somehow blocking my Wi-Fi and I thought there was something wrong with my phone but I genuinely didn’t care all I did was turn off AdBlockerVPNDNS when I needed my wifi and when I didn’t want ads I would turn it back on but after a few weeks that got annoying and so I asked my brother who originally got me to download AdBlockerVPNDNS if his phone was doing the same and he said yeah but he was in the “I don’t really care stage “

It was good at first..

I found AdBlockerVPNDNS after looking for a new vpn app and I randomly stumbled across Blockada I loved it no annoying adds except for the select few apps wich I was okay with. A little while ago I realized that I was getting more adds and was a little bit confused. So I went to AdBlockerVPNDNS and the add blocker was off when I turn it on it said I had to pay for it. I looked in the reviews and seeing a lot of people leaving the same review I’m leaving now. It was truly a really really good app I would give it a five star but…. I don’t understand why now I have to pay for it when before it was free. Made no mention to me that I was on a free trial or anything like that and I’ve been using it for months and months Before this. So therefore I give it three stars. So don’t download if you’re not willing to pay

Almost amazing app!!!

First of all, AdBlockerVPNDNS is amazing. It gives you full control over your privacy by blocking requests being made from your phone. Thank you team for making AdBlockerVPNDNS!!!

However, I think there’s one feature missing from making this 5 stars from a usability standpoint: filter by manually allowed. There are times where the blocking is too strict and I want to override the settings. But I run into an issue where the allowed header/domain isn’t the right one so I want to undo what I allowed. There isn’t a filter for what I allowed. “Allowed only” filters for all headers that are allowed. Not the ones manually allowed.

Amazing, but some bugs!

Hello, I just want to say that AdBlockerVPNDNS is absolutely AMAZING 😻 I used AdBlockerVPNDNS in the past which was like a month ago but after a few weeks my phone kept on lagging so I had to delete this and re install it :( but, I heard this helps for blocking ads on crunchyroll, I’ll go look at that soon! Make sure to keep up the good work, even if I don’t get noticed I’m still SUPER happy that I can finally use an adblocker to block scam money game ads on online single player games 🥱(I don’t usually do that though, just using this in case I accidentally get re directed to a pop up website)

Served it’s purpose.

I’ve had AdBlockerVPNDNS to use not only for Crunchyroll but other apps. It worked fine for a long time until it stopped working totally. I open AdBlockerVPNDNS , see what’s up and then it’s talking about “free trial is expired for blockada plus” and I’m over here wondering why it says that when I’ve never spent money on AdBlockerVPNDNS . Then I concluded that I assume for the time that it was free, it was a free trial? Who knows except you guys. Either way, I wish there was a notification or anything to indicate that the company wanted money. Anyway, it served it’s purpose for the time that it was free, thanks but I’ll be deleting it and moving on.

Pretty good besides miscommunication

Honestly AdBlockerVPNDNS is pretty good, there were a few times where it wouldn't block anything, but I soon realized I just needed to update it. But, around 2 days ago it said my subscription ended on my ipad? I wasn't aware that I was even on a subscription , it was fine on my phone until today. It said the same thing. I wasn't aware I was even on a free trial. I just wish that I could've had a warning that I was on a free trial. I would have no problem paying for it but I can't at the moment so suddenly seeing I couldn't use one of my favorite free ad blockers was pretty surprising.

Wonderful app with very few drawbacks

Positive-seems to be an app that does what it says it does, without much of the sales lingo that sounds fancy but adds nothing. It works across many apps used, and I would recommend it for Most people. Negative-there seem to be a few false positives/unintended legitimate services blocked, which I understand is hard to be perfect about. If a site or service or app doesn’t seem to connect, temporarily disabling or turning off the feature seems to fix the issue. The negatives are the only reason this isn’t a 5 star app for me.

Also, developer website linked on App Store page seems to be down or a misdirect.

Used to be great

I want to start this review off by saying that I have been using AdBlockerVPNDNS for a few months and it has worked perfectly. I used it for Crunchyroll and I got no ads. But recently I started noticing I kept getting a bunch of ads on everything, when I went to go check AdBlockerVPNDNS it said that it was disabled and when I tried to turn it back on it said that my subscription ran out even though I didn’t have premium and now every time I try to use it it says that I need to renew my subscription. I just want to know if I missed something or if AdBlockerVPNDNS changed. I really only care because I can’t find a free alternative to this

Does EXACTLY what I need it to!!!

I wanted to use AdBlockerVPNDNS to block ads within app games I use. almost every game I play has ads and makes you pay to remove ads. the ads are SO frequent and I was getting so annoyed!!

I don’t usually ever write reviews for apps but I went from app to app to app trying to find an ad blocker that ACTUALLY works. so glad I found this one because it works perfectly and is so easy to turn on and off when you want to. just a touch of a button! and it doesn’t fool you into a “free trial” either like the other apps!! 🙌🏼 we love to see it

Really good

Either this was a glitch or Blokada was free until now but, it’s still really great. I was able to watch Funimation and Crunchyroll without seeing ads(witch is perfect for watching a show when it has ads in it)anyways, since I don’t have money(because im 13) I won’t be using it anymore because it isn’t free. But it also blocks ads on the internet(which it should) but, it doesn’t block ads on YouTube(sadly). Also, if play games that have ads like every 5 minutes *cough*mobile games*cough* blockada blocks those ads too, and this concludes my review.

Minor Issue

I use this to block ads on Crunchyroll since their ads are long and it works perfectly although there was time it didn’t work; I was able to to fix that though so it’s not an issue! Anyway this is the first app to actually work for me and it’s great since it also has a VPN installed! Edit: So I still use this as blocker for crunchyroll and i’ve been having a really annoying problem. Ever time it blocks an ad it immediately takes me like 10 minutes before the ad started and i have to go back in and skip past all of that since i would have already watched that part of the video. I really like AdBlockerVPNDNS and i would hate to remove it off my phone; please fix this issue as soon as you can!

This app is AMAZING!!!!

I rarely write reviews, even on the good things, but AdBlockerVPNDNS is spectacular! As soon as I saw it, I was like “Oh another one of those VPN’s that tracks you”, but no! That was not the case! I have been using Blokada for over a week now, and I would love to say my experience is amazing! I can finally download those games off AdBlockerVPNDNS Store that look fun, but are filled with ads. Blokada is amazing for free! You can to Blokada plus for only $6.49 a month! One last thing. AdBlockerVPNDNS does not track you at all! They are the most secure VPN/Ad Blocker I have ever used! Thank you Blokada team!

Can’t believe it works!

This might be my first review of an app, but I had to echo everyone else and say this thing works. I have a kid who plays some game appps, and those ads were getting so ridiculous. I would be fine paying for games, but many don’t even bother and just want ad revenue. After researching, Blokada, came up a lot, and I figured I had nothing to lose, but I still wasn’t sure if it would work. Downloaded, and added all the options for block lists in the advance section, and they was it. my kid was able to play his games without stopping every 30 seconds. I can’t believe that level of ad blocking is free. Can’t thank you guys enough!

Politically motivated app

AdBlockerVPNDNS blocks conservative advertisements but allows liberal ones.

Not Working

After the last update the ads been popping up non stop. VPN is on, but it doesn’t show up when I bring the banner down.

Charges but does not upgrade to Blokada+

I tried to subscribe for the one month package to see how it goes. It charges the amount from my Apple ID balance and I see it in my subscriptions with renewal turned on but inside AdBlockerVPNDNS , it keeps saying they could not process the payment and I have not been charged - which doesn’t seem accurate. I have tried the “Restore Purchase” option too. Doesn’t work. AdBlockerVPNDNS is great perhaps but this is a major issue. I will update the ratings if / when this gets resolved.

Whitelisting

Whitelisting apps needed since some apps won't work properly with it on

Spam calls

I get a roll of spam calls only when AdBlockerVPNDNS is turned on. Like 10 a day 🙄

Not blocking youtube ads?

I like the 1.1.1.1 integration so I deleted that app but AdBlockerVPNDNS is not blocking youtube ads and I think it should since my android friends say it does on their phone. How come it does not work on ios?

Really good but has one problem

This ad blocker so really good probably the best free ad blocker but the only problem is that it makes my WiFi so trash it takes forever to load things when I have this ad blocker on but other than that it’s good

Wonderful

I use this on both my note 10 and iPhone X. Flawless. And priced well. Free version is still too notch as blocker

great

this is a really good app for blocking ads and i tried many other apps but this was the best one!

Does it work?

This works I’ve been able to watch everything with no ads

Huh

This is the best add block ever

this app is fire

AdBlockerVPNDNS is just fire

20%+ battery usage with vpn - FIXED

this is a great app, i used AdBlockerVPNDNS on android and i’m glad it’s on ios now! however, with the vpn it drains my battery, even on the 11 pro max. blokada is number one in my most used battery apps. hopefully you can optimize the vpn connection so that it doesn’t drain my battery. other than that, devs you’re amazing keep up the great work.

edit: thank you for listening, and fixing the issue! best devs ever, i swear. i no longer get high battery usage <3

Blokada Has Arrived!

I’ve heard so many great things about Blokada from the Android community. So far, AdBlockerVPNDNS is off to a great start and the UI is very simple and beautiful. A note to everyone who wants to use this for YouTube, it does not block YouTube apps despite the filter option. Apple doesn’t allow blocking of YouTube ads via DNS level ad blocking, but this is still a wonderful adblock!

The cons so far are:
• Number of ads blocked sometimes doesn’t show up/update
• Enabling additional filters sometimes doesn’t work when you tap on the filter and requires a restart to be able to enable.

I love it

This is a really good app, and no it’s not a virus. It actually blocks ads!
