Writing this review after a few days of use. This brush is pretty cool. I’ve always wanted to get smart brush, but they’re expensive. This brush hits the sweet spot in price and I was lucky enough to get it for 50% off on Black Friday at Bed Bath.
ColgateConnect is great. Didn’t encounter bugs and setup was pretty easy. Using the guided brushing has helped me as I can keep track of areas. This has made me realize I’m an awful brusher even though the dentist says I’m a good one. I’m just lucky to have good genetics. My teeth feel very clean! The tracking is pretty good but sometimes the angle doesn’t register with the accelerometer and the area gets counted as a miss. But for the most part it’s pretty accurate. I’m gonna get a Pop-Socket adhesive mount for my mirror to mount my phone to keep my head up for guided brushing. Idk if I can add a second brush, but I may have to get the battery powered brush for brushing at work. I like that it works with HealthKit. I like looking at my data. The point system is pretty cool. Each point is a cent. Doing the math, you would need to brush 1.5 times a day to get one free brush head pack per year. We’ll see how long these heads last. Idk why but you can use points for a new toothbrush, but that would take 5 years if you brushed twice a day. There’s challenges though that earn 50 cents and maybe new challenges will come up later to speed up those 5 years, haha.

I enjoy all the challenges. Kinda makes things fun I guess. What I really think is cool is how it detects and corrects the way you angle the toothbrush so you brush properly. I find myself zoning out most times while brushing and I always have to go back and rebrush certain areas cause of not totally paying attention. ColgateConnect has changed that for me. It may seem silly that a grown adult needs a visual to brush their teeth, but when you have a insanely busy life like mine, it’s those little things that you learn to appreciate. It shows you an image of a mouth and it guides you in brushing so you don’t forget any areas…like the insides or whatever. But what’s cool is that even though it has its regular routine to teach you, it will change and follow where YOU move the toothbrush. Literally will show you on the screen with different colors and shading, where EXACTLY you are in your mouth. You can also input a bunch of info and they’ll work out a brushing program for you. You can put reminders in for dental appointments and also put in daily alerts for brushing reminders. You have to actually see to understand. All in all, I really like it and I’m actually getting the brushes for my older three kids. My youngest already has the kids hum with AR…which is really cool too. I would def recommend this to everyone.

It works really good, it has a better impact on my gums because right now there kinda lifted. It could probably clean my teeth a little bit better but I have to the extra work for that. But over all it cleaned pretty good. Now the back of the tooth brush is used for your tongue, but I use the bristles because the back doesn’t work barley at all. But the bristles work good for it. Waitttttt, I just now realized that I had it on the low mode the whole time. I should probably turn it on that instead. But one thing I should probably invest in is a tongue cleaning thing because i don’t know if it’s best for the bristles for cleaning my tongue. You should totally buy this. I asked for this for my birthday and I remember getting Brushing my teeth with it that night. I was amazed. With ColgateConnect that comes with it, it makes me more exited to brush my teeth. And idk if I mentioned this but I really like how it cleans my tongue. KIDS- MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE TOP OF YOUR TOOTH AND THEN BRUSH DOWN. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BRUSH FOR 5 MINUTES. AND BRUSH YOUR TONGUE. ALSO FLOSS YPUR TEETH. IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE AND IT WILL HELP YOU WITH YOUR BAD BREATH( BRUSHING YOUR TONGUE IS VERY CRUCIAL FOR THIS TO. ) moral of the story guys please take care of your teeth cause you only get a limited amount of teeth. I just got braces, so with the increasingly frequent dentist visits, I’ve been extra conscious of my dental health. Until I got Hum, I only used non electric toothbrushes. There was just something about electric toothbrushes that didn’t work for me, and the cheap ones I got always got waterlogged and died, so I figured they weren’t for me. While listening to a podcast, I heard an ad for Quip. It sounded interesting, but I wanted to do my research and look into other options before I committed. While looking up other electric toothbrushes, the Hum website popped up and after reading reviews and comparisons, it seemed like Hum was gonna work best for me. After about a week of use, I am totally impressed with Hum !! My teeth feel exponentially cleaner, and with the guided brushing I feel like I’m learning to get more of the hard to reach areas. The smaller brush head has been a lifesaver for my sore teeth while getting used to the braces and tenderness after wisdom teeth removal. While I admit I’m mostly writing a review to get the points, I do genuinely recommend this toothbrush and app and am so thankful to this product for making such an torturous time for me a million times easier, fresher, and less painful.

I can’t say enough great things about this toothbrush and app! For so many years I have not been brushing with a 45 degree angle. The guided brushing teaches you how to brush consistently with a 45 degree angle AND brush for at least 2 minutes. It tracks speed, brush angle, time and more. You can also brush offline and as long as you connect with your brush every 10 days it will track it and tell you how to improve. Using ColgateConnect allows you to collect smile points which can be used to buy new brush heads, toothbrushes, exercise and sleep apps etc. There’s also a daily question that has some really interesting stuff as well as daily challenges that give you points as well. There are 3 settings on the brush, sensitive, normal and whitening. I use whitening and it feels like dentist clean every time. After I bought mine- I loved it so much that I bought my son and husband one. My son uses the sensitive setting to strengthen his gums. I bought my daughter and her fiancée one because she gets professional whitening and her fiancée has sensitive teeth.
This is a great toothbrush and I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

So first when I thought this product I had my doubts, because I actually use sonic hair diamond plus, but I wanted to give this more of a shot because it’s more affordable it seems intelligent, and it just seems you need to try so I was like why not?

Boy was I surprised when I tried this out and not only did I see how I was brushing, I noticed that there is definitely a unique way and that we all should be brushing in a proper manner. It makes you feel confident about your brushing after you finish and you know you’ve cleaned every part of your mouth and it also rewards you with points that you can use towards replacement brush heads or even toothbrushes or many more things!

For the price of this item and the free downloadable app I think this is a knock out of the park! Especially for kids as well because I know how stubborn kids can be with brushing teeth! They have a games that kids can play while they brush their teeth and it makes it much more interesting and more of a fun habit instead of a annoying boring habit! Get this! You won’t regret it!

OK, this is amazing. My friends and I all got these for Christmas and it was the first thing we used. The display of your own teeth is incredible, and you can SEE the change this toothbrush is making to your teeth. Everyone I know with this toothbrush, including me, brushes EIGHTEEN TIMES A DAY, times a day, 3 guided brushes before and after every meal. Unlike every other toothbrush, this one makes a change you can see. Not only in ColgateConnect , but every time you look into the mirror you see a new you. GREAT JOB!!

If you are not sure where the spots you are missing when brushing your teeth, this is ColgateConnect for you. It colour codes wherever you need to brush, and follows where you toothbrush is on your screen, telling you which spots it needs to be in.
This is probably the best toothbrush I’ve ever used and I never regret buying it!

I was so excited for it to tell me how well I’m brushing. It does track how well your brushing an area, but not that well. You could miss an entire tooth and it wouldn’t know because of how large the sections it tracks are. But my biggest problem is that it controls when you brush what area. It’s really hard for me to jump around to different areas instead of brushing in the same order I’ve brushed my entire life. Why do I have to brush the front top incisor teeth right after brushing only the front of my bottom molars? It doesn’t make since. Why not completely finish brushing the molars and then move on? I really, really hate that. I decided to brush as usual one day and it said only 1% of my teeth were brushed properly even though I brushed for an entire 2 1/2 minutes. It thought that because it can only track the area it shows you even if it’s pattern is nonsensical. Other than that, I love it. When you follow the irritating pattern, ColgateConnect works well enough and I love being able to track my brushing habits. The reward points are also great because I can eventually get some free replacement heads. Over all, I think it’s a so-so app. It has some problems, but it also has some good features.

I purchased this particular product because of a tech review that said it doesn’t misjudge brushing accuracy, particularly on back teeth, as similar products do. I have had a very different experience. If I use guided brushing, it always tells me to “check your zone” when I brush my last molar in each side zone. If I followed ColgateConnect , the back sides of my last molars would never get brushed. It also frequently misses that I’m brushing the front of my upper center teeth.

Additionally, it will briefly remind me to brush at a 45 degree angle in a zone or two, as if I have the correct angle at least 90% of the time, and then show abysmal results for the percent of brushing time the angle was correct. How am I supposed to correct it if the problem isn’t flagged while I’m brushing? The message I see most of the time is, “You’re doing great!”

Although I think brushing with ColgateConnect is better than guessing, and it does ensure I spend enough time brushing each zone, the inaccuracies are truly irritating. If I’d known it would not be nearly as accurate as the review indicated, I would have shopped around more.

I have depression. I have always hated brushing my teeth. It’s one of those things that I put off and I tell myself I’ll get to later but then never actually do. I literally will go days without brushing. I also recognize the importance of dental hygiene on overall health and have always tried (and failed) to get into a better routine. Enter the hum by Colgate and ColgateConnect and my whole outlook on brushing has changed. I look forward to my brushing time now which is a new feeling for me. The guided brushes have my teeth feeling cleaner than they’ve ever felt before. I love that ColgateConnect makes brushing into a game and keeps me motivated since I’m super competitive and don’t want to break my streak. I am currently on a 10 day 2x a day brushing streak which might be the longest I’ve ever kept up a routine and I’m so happy about it. This brush and app have changed my brushing experience and I’m so thankful for it.

I absolutely love this humm toothbrush and app, after using the guided brushing feature for a week, I can already see a visible difference in my dental health (plaque on the inside part of teeth reduced + I’m spending recommended time brushing + reaching all the areas I otherwise would rush/miss) and points system is a great incentive to actually use the guided brushing even when a lil laziness creeps. In a couple months I can use those points to get new brush heads! And they’re less bulky and plastic that regular toothbrushes so I feel better about the environmental impact too. The small head of brush at first reminded me of a toddlers brush but works really well for me as I can reach all the hard to reach crevices in the back without discomfort, specially with TMJ lol
— BUT — I wish the guided brushing included ALL areas of the mouth eg the tongue or gums + was more intuitive eg if I clean one area and spit out I can’t resume back to it on my log, it assumes it’s “64%” clean even after I resume irl

I received 'hum' toothbrush as a gift from my son. I was quite skeptical about the uniquely different style of toothbrush head and was even more surprised how it works better than I was expecting. It did a very good job of cleaning my teeth and gentle on my gums and the added brushing guide is a big plus. This type of technology involved brushing is easy to use and makes it fun to brush.😁The guide is extremely helpful and the earning points help as an incentive. I also enjoy the quizzes and challenges that are informative. I'm really glad that I tried the 'hum' by Colgate unique style of toothbrush. It's different from any toothbrush I've ever purchased and used and I intend to continue using this product and recommend it to other family members and friends.
Colgate has met the challenge by creating a very useful and fun way to brush for all age groups, I just happen to be a senior citizen.😊 thanks for making a mundane chore fun.

First of all This really good app and I totally recommend it to my whole family because it’s really good and I got the toothbrush for like 50 bucks and it was really good and I love the brush. a couple things i would fix is if the guided brushing thing because it exactly work as well because there is kind of a little bug I don’t know what type of bug it is but it basically just doesn’t count where it is and it kind of tells you to check in your zone even though I’m doing all that stuff correctly so it’s like I’m not getting all that it says am I getting all that coverage but then it makes it count sometimes it doesn’t even count even though I brush them really .Well there’s nothing else as much as I love Hum by Colgate giving it check out points or saving a dollar or something it’s really cool I totally love it and recommend this brush to really anyone

Most technology and applications that come out now are oftentimes time-consuming, attention-grabbing, often-entertaining, yet detrimental to the lives of those utilizing them once they finally put their phone down. They question where all of their time has gone or why they are not accomplishing all they feel capable of…The HUM through Colgate Application is promoting better health and wellness via brushing better and more thoroughly, making it a game of sorts, setting reminders, building community, celebrating small but mighty successes utilizing a reward system, providing free-trial codes to other wellness-driven apps such as “Headspace” which is highly rated as well as regarded…overall, I cannot wait to increase my mindfulness, well-being, dental hygiene, and feel better overall through the utilization of a smart app that was clearly made for good.

I absolutely love this toothbrush! I’ve been told by dentists for YEARS that I brush extremely well, but come to find out when I did my initial test brush, I was only getting 88% of my mouth!! After only a few days, I was FaceTiming my mom and she mentioned how white my teeth look. I love the guided brushing feature, because not only can I make sure I get my mouth 100% clean every time, but it also makes sure I’m brushing my teeth at the correct angle and with the correct speed. I also love that I can collect smile points with every brush session that I can redeem for replacement brush heads, toothpaste, or even a new toothbrush if I wanted!

The only thing I would like to see added is being able to add “friends” to make it a competition to see who brushes more thoroughly and more often. I also love the idea of the game feature, but unfortunately when I played I only got 77% of my mouth clean, so I definitely won’t be playing the game anymore.

I wasn’t always the most consistent with brushing my teeth. I got this toothbrush and therefore ColgateConnect for Christmas. I have only had it about a month. I can honestly say I remember to brush my teeth more often. Not to mention my teeth feel more clean than with my normal toothbrush. ColgateConnect makes you conscious of how long you brush and how well you brush. Not to mention you make MONEY while you do it!! It’s only a penny or two every time you brush, but do you get paid when you use your normal toothbrush? I don’t think so.

My only complaint with ColgateConnect is it doesn’t always seem the most accurate on where I’m brushing or how well I did. Sometimes I can tell I missed the spots it tells me about. Other times I feel as if all my teeth feel clean. Even if it’s inaccurate I know I’m brushing better and more consistent thanks to this toothbrush and app.

First of all, this is a great value for an electric toothbrush. At low prices this can be had for you’re getting a unique experience and a ticket to much better oral health. The packaging is superbly gift-able. Inside, the brush has an attractive and small design. It’s much smaller than most rechargeable electric toothbrushes from major brands and small brands alike. The smaller size makes it comfortable to hold and more compact in the included case. The toothbrush has great cleaning performance. Colgate did a great job designing the brush head. The vibration action isn’t the most powerful of sonic toothbrushes but the design of the head and the guided brushing of ColgateConnect makes it way easy to get a dentist style clean. Overall, I love this. It’s from Colgate which means replacement heads are found everywhere. Grocery. Pharmacy. Online. But maybe the best feature of this is ColgateConnect !

Of the ratings on this could go to 10 stars it would deserve it. I have been using this toothbrush for 1 month and I LOVE it. I have three reasons for you to try this. 1. It has three speeds fast, medium, and slow. I try it with all of the speeds and loved it. 2. It sets reminders of when to brush your teeth. So if your like me you need this. You obviously can customize it to your times but still AMAZING!! 3. You literally can brush your teeth offline. So what this means is if you forget to bring you phone with you there is no need to worry. This toothbrush and app will still give you results offline. Oh wait I forgot to mention it does track your brushing well oops but now you know. After all of this it can be pricey but SO WORTH THE MONEY!!!! 10/10 would recommend. Also comes with changeable heads.

Overall love this toothbrush and app! I have had it for 3 months now and my brushing quality has definitely improved due to using it! The challenges to earn points which can be redeemed for free products like replacement brush heads has been very motivating for improving my brushing frequency too! There are a few things that could still be worked on in ColgateConnect though. For example, I have push notifications set to remind me to brush my teeth, but ideally these would only go off if I hadn’t yet brushed me teeth that am/pm, so that I don’t get notified 30 min after I have already done it. Also the weekly recaps that they send via email never have the correct average frequency per day of brushing for the week, always telling me that I brush more than 2 times a day, when I never do that (maybe because I use guided brushing which gives 2 points per session instead of one).

My mama and aunt worked in a dental office while I was growing up and while I was a young adult - I thought that I had dental care down pat! I figured I had nothing else to learn! I decided to try this because it’s an electric toothbrush that packs easily and has good reviews, which is an unusual combination!
It’s been about 2 weeks, and I’ve had people notice that my smile is brighter and prettier - and my teeth were pretty white before I switched to Humm!
I did have to make one change, and I am glad I was able to do so. The settings automatically shut off brushing at 2 minutes, unless you change it. I’m accustomed to 4 minutes of brushing, and was very pleased to be able to add that time.

At first I bought this just for fun because I like gadgets and stuff like that. I thought that with the 2 minutes timer I’d get tired of it and stop using it but I love using this. I just got it yesterday and my teeth are already whiter than ever. my mouth feels fresh and clean. Also very minty lol. Buy this y’all. ColgateConnect is so much fun to play with and it was easy to set up too. it doesn’t press you into taking a quiz about your teeth. there were only two questions that i discovered myself by playing with it. it doesn’t bother you about anything. It asks you to connect your device. Connect with an email for obvious reasons and then it’s right to point. If you want to add personal information is up to you. Also it’s FREAKY ACCURATE. It told me that i missed a lot of my left side when i first brushed and it’s true! I always miss a lot of my left side. Like what!!! how did you know that!?

As a hygienist, I can’t fathom how difficult it is for patients to keep their teeth clean. Just brush your teeth!!! A simple task isn’t so simple it turns out. ColgateConnect has guided brushing !!! Simple enough to just glide your HUM toothbrush where it tells you to. It even tells you if you’re going too slow or too fast! Once it feels you’ve cleaned that section sufficiently, it highlights the next area to clean. Super simple, effective way to insure all your teeth surfaces are clean!
What’s a nice bonus is their virtual store. For every time you brush and complete an activity, you accrue points that translate into real currency used to purchase Colgate toothbrush items! That’s an incentive worth brushing for!

I switched to this toothbrush after my Quip crapped out on me. What I love about this toothbrush is that it’s rechargeable, it comes with a traveling case, I can still subscribe to new brush heads sent to me in the mail, and it’s my favorite color (purple)! The one thing that I thought was silly about the guided brushing practice on the “online” brushing feature, was that it has you brushing all over the place, instead of by each quadrant. I “scored” a lower percentage because of this, vs. brushing how I personally brush my teeth (I’m probably just being a picky DA.) The brush does have a timer for when to switch to a new quadrant, and when 2 minutes has been up which I love! This brush is pretty easy to use as well as ColgateConnect ! I would definitely recommend.

I have an unusual fear of brushing my teeth. I hate the sound of toothbrushes. I know this is weird, but it’s a real thing to me. I was very skeptical of using a battery-operated toothbrush because I thought it would exacerbate my phobia. However, I have to say that I am totally in love with this brush. I don’t mind the sound at all, and I love that I can tell what teeth I have been missing when I brush. I actually bought my mom and my sister both one for Christmas. My teeth look whiter, and they are definitely cleaner. I enjoy getting a little report each time I brush my teeth. It’s so cool! This brush is a life changer!

App is fun, interesting and it rewards you with points. However there is a huge lack of communication about the transition to the official app starting this month and since I was one of the testers who have been using the original app for months, my hard earned points were all deleted due to the transition without any warnings. The website shows multiple ways to contact them but the only way that actually works is the phone call which put you on hold for almost half an hour. After speaking to the representative, they sent email to me that I will only get less than half of my earned points back as a thank you for my feedback.

Overall, I have great things to say about this toothbrush and app combo. Easy to use, relatively inexpensive replacement heads, etc. But the beep. Have mercy the beep. For weeks now my phone has randomly beeped whenever I walked into my bedroom and it was driving me up a wall trying to figure out which app was causing it. Finally I realized my phone would produce a low beep whenever the toothbrush was within connecting distance and connects via Bluetooth. App developers, please supply us with a toggle and indication of this feature. It almost cost me a new phone and window because throwing my phone through a second story window was the next viable solution until figuring it out.

I have been using the Hum by Colgate for a bit and it’s a little loud but ColgateConnect makes it totally worth it. I have had fun using ColgateConnect to test how well I brush my teeth, and the guided tooth brushing keeps me from zoning out when I’m sleepy or just waking up.

I like the clean app interface, and it’s so fun to have a set of teeth you can drag around that shows you which teeth you may have missed brushing. As a graphic designer by trade, I can appreciate the thought that went into the front end design. ColgateConnect is very simple to use and intuitive.

The interactivity would be a great resource when teaching a child how to brush their teeth. Even having them follow the guided brushing once they have learned how to brush properly would help keep them on track, and not miss spots. If they miss stuff, you can see and help them go back over those areas.

This brush has a much smaller set of bristles than the average sonic toothbrushes I have used. It makes getting into those tight spots much easier for the whole family.

I will be telling my friends all about this brush and the fun app.

One of my friends purchased the HUM and posted it so I inquired about it and I’m so glad I made the purchase.. I’ve noticed such an improvement on brushing my teeth just in 4 days of brushing and it’s amazing! Everyone needs to buy this toothbrush! I’ve purchased for my family after having mine and brushing now at my home is extremely fun and my 5 year old LOVES it!! He self brushes now and the independence of him doing this little task has boosted his self confidence which as a parent we always strive to give them. A great product and highly recommended to everyone!

I’ve had my hum toothbrush and corresponding app for about 3 weeks now. I’ve never spent so much time thinking about brushing habits and actively trying to make improvements. The toothbrush and app of course, work well together and being able to see missed spots on the diagram has been a life changer.

I’ve noticed you have to hold your brush a very specific way for ColgateConnect to capture your brushing zones. Every now and then, ColgateConnect doesn’t accurately display the tooth diagram but the problem is always fixed by closing ColgateConnect and starting it up again. Looking forward to future updates and potential brushing stats to be added!

ColgateConnect and toothbrush make brushing your teeth fun! Look forward to answering the question of the day every day and getting my daily points. The only things I don’t like are I SWEAR I’m brushing all the parts of my mouth and sometimes they be saying I missed a whole section when I know I brushed that part!!!! And if you don’t select collect points you lose the points!! Should be automatically added crying face sometime I fumble my phone and I lose the points *cries*

We all grow up thinking we have mastered tooth brushing but in reality when you go to a conscientious hygienist you quickly find out you are not the master of anything with relation to brushing. Finally an app and a toothbrush smart enough to alleviate the false sense of accomplishment on your own. Thank you Colgate for finally applying today’s technology to a critical daily Heath tool to transform the brushing experience from one of getting it done to one of getting it done right .

I love the brush and ColgateConnect ! It has truly made my brushing experience better! There are two modes on the brush (rough and gentle) they are both good options. One more note is that you get points for offline brushing too wish is really cool. Now the actual brush was worth every penny and I got the battery one but it has such amazing quality, I do not know though if the electric brush is better or not. But all in all I love ColgateConnect and brush so much and would not give it up! ❤️

Ok, let me get one thing straight. This is the best toothbrush EVER! If you are getting one, you need ColgateConnect. ColgateConnect is very nice, and the toothbrush tells you ALL things you have to do. I really enjoy this since i got it today, and you can even make your own program. Unlike the Phillips Sonicare, this brush is much smaller, and vibrates more. The heads last really long, maybe 4 months i guess. Thank you Colgate for all your hard work on the toothbrush. I really appreciate it! : )

As a grown woman I thought using ColgateConnect would be well.. a bit childish.
I was really wrong.
I haven’t been taking care of my teeth as I should and ColgateConnect is clever and user friendly. It reminds me to brush and has already improved my brushing skills which I thought weren’t terrible.. but again .. I was wrong.
After using this brush my teeth really feel clean and look whiter and now I’ve ordered brushes for my kids ( who are also adults)
