The Sleep experience includes bedtime reminders, wake-up alarms, sleep tracking, Sleep Focus, Wind Down, and a view of your sleep trends over time.

• Review sleep statistics in the Health app on iPhone including sleep times, sleep stages, sleep goals, respiratory rate, and sleeping heart rate.

Sleep Focus is also enabled during Wind Down to help you meet your sleep goals.

• Set a sleep schedule to help you meet your sleep goals and get to bed on time.

Apple Watch uses data from the accelerometer and heart rate sensor to determine what stage of sleep you are in.

You can easily track your sleep and wake up in the morning with alarm sounds or haptics.

• Track your sleep stages and how much you sleep when you wear Apple Watch to bed.

• Turn on Sleep Focus and lock the screen with Sleep Lock.

• Receive a wake-up screen each morning with today’s weather forecast and current battery life so you can remember to charge.

Tapping the screen dimly displays time, date, and morning alarm.

• Wake up to gentle sounds or a haptic wake-up alarm so you don’t disturb anyone else around you.

• Use Wind Down to help you relax before heading to bed.

Wish for Easier Use

I’m having to enter an “In Bed” manually, with start & stop having same times, just so I know when I laid down in the bed. Otherwise, I have to remember when I did and put it in later. Wish there was a button to use that I could tap when I get into bed and again when I get out of bed, to input my start/stop for bed.

I miss SleepBot.

Broken in watch os 8

Used to be amazing. In watchOS 8, the alarm is not reliable and when it does trigger, it is a different much more subtle alarm that doesn’t wake you as well. Also is less reliable at keeping the screen off at night. It got thrown in with focus modes and so now it’s quite hard to activate.

Sleep Mode Removed in WatchOS 8

The this app mode that normally keep the screen from lighting up is gone in WatchOS 8. It should be accessible under the do not disturb, but it’s now there.

TO FIX THIS ISSUE

Under the Focus setting enabling mirror the phone and the additional focuses including this app return.

Does this app track need an alarm to track your this app? I didnt use an alarm last night woke up to no data

Lacking in MANY areas

Apple fails on this 👎🏻 MAJOR

You MUST set a this app schedule 👎🏻 Not everyone has a steady time for this app

It doesn't track naps 👎🏻 There are those of us who need a snooze during the day

Nothing about connection to HR or breathing 👎🏻 Apple has these features on the watch but fails to bring them to this app?

No way to just track this app on our own now 👎🏻This messes with Health & other this app apps significantly. It makes tracking this app a pain in comparison to other devices.

Apple has a LOT of work to do to get this near its competitors

Pretty inaccurate

I had a Fitbit about eight years ago that was a lot more accurate at tracking this app. I could literally be tossing and turning for an hour or two and my Apple Watch would think I was sleeping.

Sleep data not accurate

Compared to the Fitbit app and device the Apple Watch and this app app don’t accurately track this app.

Just use Auto Sleep instead

This doesn’t provide any useful this app metrics like other this app trackers do, and even Auto this app that runs on the watch is far better in the detail and insights it provides.

Given the amount of information Apple has through the watch, Sleep should really have more insights and features.
