Corrupt/Incomplete Files

The option that records your live angle changes records 10 minute files (which is fine). But the video files it creates are corrupt/incomplete and have no video. If I stop a recording before 10 minutes, the file is fine. But if MevoStudio stops the current file to create a new one, the 10 minute file is broken. I’m going to have to return EVERYTHING I bought for my little mobile studio because MevoStudio can’t do the main thing it was designed to do. BTW, I’m on iPadOS 18 with the current app version and current camera firmware. I tried recording to my iPad locally, to an iCloud location, to the Photos app, and to an external SD card plugged into my iPad—all with the same result. MevoStudio creates broken files!

Great idea, unstable sometimes

We use three Mevo Cameras and either Studio 6 or this Multicam app. Sometimes it’s the frequent updates that cause instability. Sometimes it’s just something unknown in the system. But we find we get a solid streamed broadcast only half the time.

In the case of MevoStudio, notifications on my iPhone caused the stream to quit unexpectedly mid program. Unfortunately, with Vimeo you can’t just click “Go Live” and pick up where you left off. If you do you create a whole new event with a new url. And that’s a big headache. (Think changing/updating your broadcast’s URL’s on your website, app, and social media during your live program.) And the same problem if for some reason you broadcast for just a few seconds and the feed goes down… now you have to update all the links.

MevoStudio has a nice interface and it does connect to our 3 Mevo’s well (so long as app and Mevo camera firmware are all up to date.)

A major drawback is not being able to stream to multiple outlets at once (i.e Vimeo and Facebook). If you could create a Vimeo event from MevoStudio AND from MevoStudio tell the Vimeo event to send to other outlets limitations of an iOS device could probably be avoided. Alas no such option (yet?).

Good concept. Good start. Make it dependable. Help us get our content out to multiple outlets. That would be 5 stars.

Disappointed

I ordered my first Mevo camera when it first launched and was thrilled with the technology and its capabilities. I was shocked when MevoStudio fell so short of the original. You would think the Mevo Multicam would have all the capabilities of the Mevo app. But you cannot pan, zoom, or send to multiple online destinations! Why am I paying Vimeo to multistream when I no longer have that capability? I work for a medium-sized church and money is always an issue. And Vimeo is expensive. I could only get the producer subscription. Now either the Vimeo subscription was a waste of money or the new Mevo camera was. I pray Mevo adds these features quickly seeing as I can’t imagine most people will be very happy without them. The whole nitch for Mevo is being able to pan and zoom without at camera person. Very disappointed.

It's mostly good

I like MevoStudio so far but I really wish that:
1. It was easier to do the crop and zoom.
2. Have the presets saved but also displayed.
3. Integration with OBS so I could use my ipad to select which camera my OBS on my laptop shows for the stream. I'd think it'll be like the iPad could be a remote for the computer and/or hotkeys.

For the first two the active cameras be up on top in one or two row and shown side by side. The presets could a user option of having either each crop and zoom being a number or a low quality preview of what the camera sees there.

At my Church I am the only one doing the slides, audio locally, and everything for the stream so having a more "point and click" setup means a lot to me running everything with the two cameras.
My table at the Church already has two underpowered laptops, old ipad, mixer board so quickness and simplicity means a lot to me.

Improvements required

Would be great if you added a multi user option so that one person can be in charge of graphics and someone else can be responsible for camera views and audio levels. Also it would be great if mevo could add a multi site option without having to do special set ups thought NDI this way it would reduce the need for extra software needed to run any size production . Also it would be great if you made a wireless mic appliance were we need the wireless audio but do not have a extra phone to plug into our sound mixer. Also it would be great if you came out with a PTZ camera under the Mevo name this way we would have more than 1 camra option to use for the space we have to work with. Also it would be great if you started making 4k and 8k cameras this way we could have improved productions.

Solid Platform, Needs a UX overhaul

This application is great, albeit a bit too ad heavy atop. The Picture in Picture capabilities should be static options within an alternative cameras view, eg. pip of 1st base with main image of the battery and pitcher. Or one side of a basketball court to another. The key is being able to pin them to the main camera feeds as well for quick go between on two cameras. Image control settings should have an “apply to all cameras” capability. There needs to be a quick way to tap between crop and wide without going into image previewer. That plus larger targets and more tap, hold ands drag across the UI would be welcome.

Good App bad Subscription Policy

I have been charged for the subscription of Mevo Multicam for several months, however, I did not intend to renew this subscription, neither did I use it. The process of requesting refund goes through a support ticket which makes the entire process very complicated. Whereas it could have been one click away!

Great app

I’ve use the multiple camera app every week. It works and functions perfectly. I only wish you could use more than 3 cameras at a time and that MevoStudio allowed zooming and one touch movement like the single camera app.

Missing Static Shot Presets!

Our church definitely needs the static shot preset capability from the Mevo single-cam app in MultiCam. We’re considering purchasing the 3-pack of Start cams for our new building, we just need to be able to select from preset framed shots within each camera angle.

Awesome - until latest update

I’ve been using MultiCam for several months, using 2-3 cameras for different angles at daughter’s softball, and it’s been great. The PIP feature in version 1.5 is a nice add. However, since I updated to 1.5.1, I can no longer stream to GameChanger. In the Multicam app itself, all seems fine - it appears to be streaming. But when someone tries to view the stream on GameChanger, it’s non-existent. I’ve been in touch with both Mevo and GC hoping for a fix, but so far, nothing.

Good App, Would Love To See Some New Features

MevoStudio is great. I run the stream for my kid’s baseball games through GameChanger. My iPhone 13 Pro Max handles four Mevo Start cams and a Mevo Go source on another device with ease. It does crash occasionally. I love how I can keep a corner bug with our team logo showing all the time, add full screen overlays for our team photo and sponsor logos, and even stream a cool promo video from Mevo Go screencast into the stream. I also set up lower third overlays with the boys names and photos that I display when they come up to bat.

I have a couple suggestions:
I would like to add a video as an overlay, including sound, instead of having to stream that from a second device with Mevo Go.
I would like to have videos (with an alpha channel/green screen) to use as overlays, so I can add moving graphics.
I would like all the controls on a single screen, rather than on separate screens. When I’m streaming a game I want to be able to switch cameras (not just use overlays and PIP), zoom and crop, and select overlays, without having to switch screens. Maybe add an advanced mode to allow people who want complicated controls instead of the simple controls you have today that require me to switch screens.
I would like to have scene selections, which would be pre-built scenes where I select a camera with certain zoom/crop settings, multiple overlays or PIPs, and sound sources, so I can instantly switch to that scene during a live stream.

Almost there!

First this is a good app, but not great, yet. MevoStudio is still behind the original mevo app. No count down counters. I have to bounce between the two apps depending on what I’m streaming. Also would be nice if Gamechanger would use the Multicam app as default or at least give the option to choose which app to use. It would be great to be able to have the slideshows auto scroll, and be able to add video imports. Maybe these are in the works? There is a lot of things right about MevoStudio. Keep up the good work!

Gettting better, now with landscape mode -update

Much better with the landscape mode for tablets, now maybe some screen options to make the main porgram window bigger somehow, and the audio meters/sliders do not need to be that big! I know this is more of an exclusive app for Mevo cameras, but support for other remote cams such as the livestream broadcaster and a iphone cam app, then this could be an awesoe app I would pay for if the price was right. Great to see such responsive input from the developer and implementing the requests to make it better. Please add support for Livestream Broadcaster units!

Not Bad, But Room for Improvement

Once you get the hang of it, the Mevo system is remarkably easy to use. However, setup is a bit of a pain, requiring multiple iterations of synching devices before they can be used… and this process must be repeated every time any of the Mevo cameras lose or change WiFi signal with the host. Big negative.
Having used the Mevo multicam system for a few months now, there are some more functions I’d like to see. I wish the system would accept a non-camera input, say from a digital video or audio source, and allow me to switch live between said source and my vanity cam.

Mevo to the rescue

I have been looking and longing for a system whereby I can record myself and go live with my practical sewing demos spontaneously without having someone to control the cameras. I also wanted a system where I did not need to purchase and know how to use expensive cameras. I saw complicated and expensive setups and I was just overwhelmed. I wanted to teach my skill and not be bugged down with the tech. I knew that I was not the only one with this problem and that there must be a solution out there. Well I came across Mevo Start and the rest I history. I am loving it and the ability to use MevoStudio to switch cameras. The set up is easy and I also love the small but powerful cameras. Well done Mevo you saved the day.

The good the bad and the ugly

I have had the camera freeze on here. Sometimes connecting is a challenge. I love it when it works but not when it doesn’t. Great way to stream with out a computer. My old Mevo work terribly on this new syste

Amazing Tech

This is some of the most impressive tech in live video I have used in a long time. This Multicam setup is portable, easy to use, can be customized in a variety of different ways, and puts out great quality. Highly recommend.

Excellent, but…

Would be 5 stars, but I cannot, for the life of me, discern how to figure out way to prioritize one camera longer than the others, and MevoStudio is not explanatory enough.

If MevoStudio provide clearer direction it would be 5/5.

Inconsistent

The last update completely took us offline. If you have “merged” your fb profile and business account it will no longer be able to go live with Mevo Multicam.

Love the Auto-Director Feature!

My Mevo Starts connect to the multi-app no problem, and I love that MevoStudio can automatically cut to different cameras. As a feature request, NDI Multicam support would be perfect for my workflow since I prefer to broadcast in OBS.
