Universal Smart TV Remote App Reviews

Back when I had my iPhone 7, I purchased no ads and everything had been running really smoothly. After settling into using UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp, when i tried to add my tv to be controlled, UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp would freeze after scanning for tvs. I figured it was just an issue with my phone, but even after switching to the newest phone, the 13, im still having the same issue. Please fix this!

I was getting ready to purchase UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp to support the developer, but after a period of tome with UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp open, here came the ads. And came...and came...and came. Hit fast forward, before you have a chance to stop it, wait for a 5 second delay before you can close the ad and stop. Makes UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp, like every other remote app, frustrating and unusable. If just one developer makes one of these apps ad free or has no popups, you’ll get my money.

It’s as if UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp was stuffed with as many ads as the developer thought they could get away with, meaning you have to sit through sometimes the same ad repetitively every three or four key hits, making you wait through noisy nonsense before being able to move on, and making UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp shoot itself in the foot and ultimately annoying. One is also berated by a constant reminder to purchase the premium, ad-free version, thereby adding insult to injury because UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp is basically just an advertisement for itself.

The remote works fine but you get forced into clearing a pop up ad every 4 keys you press and every time you open UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp it bothers you to pay for it. I probably would have paid for it because it’s very useful and the fact that it pairs with the TV over WiFi without the need of the original TV remote means that if I break this TV’s remote, which the X900F remote is a piece of junk, I can still control my TV. Definitely won’t be getting any money from me with these forceful tactics though. It’s a shame.

UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp works good but for every 4 clicks you get an ad and takes another 2-3 clicks to get rid of it once the time has lapse. I just wanted to evaluate it while waiting for my real remote to come in but just too annoying. It’s nice to use the phone app but really doesn’t replace old reliable remote. This is good as a backup but not worth paying the fees.

I have a Samsung 75” tv and a Samsung 65” tv. The remote works perfectly for the 75” tv. I can add the second 65” tv without a problem. I cannot however turn on the tv without using my regular remote to approve the connection. What good is this remote if I have to have the regular remote by my side to authorize access. I tried the tv device connection settings with zero success. Disappointing.

UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp was like a superhero swooping in to save the day when the remote went AWOL or the batteries croaked. Annoying ads? I handled those with a small fee—totally worth it. But now, it's like UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp has taken up ghosting as a hobby. Disconnects have become so frequent, I’m considering installing a revolving door on my TV connection. Now it’s gone full Houdini and won’t connect at all. I've tried every trick in the book—scanning like it’s a treasure hunt, hard resets, even turning my phone off and on like a caveman rebooting his fire. And for some reason, my 5th email to customer support seems to be stuck in the same Bermuda Triangle as UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp . Help?

I have been using UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp for over a week. The whole reason I got it was because it says “no video ads” and “no subscriptions”. Everything was working fine until I woke up yesterday and it suggested a subscription. Thinking nothing of it, I closed the ad and went to turning on and watching the tv. Now, every 3 button presses prompts a video ad (the same one over and over) and the only way to get rid of it is to purchase a subscription. Way to go back on your word… Will definitely be deleting this. Only reason I gave it 2 stars vs 1 is because it does work. But if I’m trying to go from volume 20 to volume 8 in the middle of the night to avoid waking others, I have to wait through 4 ads before getting there. And heaven forbid I decide to watch something else afterwards.

Despite what it says in the description, the ads are full screen and have a timer. This would be fine but it happens every 4 button presses. It actually works really well, I was going to buy it until I realized how ridiculous the ads are.

UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp was working good with ads, it was a little annoying but it still worked. Once I bought the no ad version, UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp stops working. It won't let me connect to my TV anymore. Hopefully UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp developers can fix it.

Works great and the ads are unobtrusive. Other apps have adds that pop up in the middle of clicking around which causes you to inadvertently click on an add. This one does not which is fantastic!

This works very well indeed. And no subscription: wow!
And also available on the watch: how great is that?
I have just two requests:
(1) when will this be available for LG? And how will we know when it becomes available?
(2) would it be possible to turn the TV on as well with UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp (it’s the only thing it doesn’t do)? That would make this 10 stars.

I went through like 8 different apps on here for my new Sony TV and none of them were connecting (SonyMote didn’t work) but this one actually works. I don’t work for these people and usually never review anything but thank god y’all’s app works. Even though Sony has a big *ss remote I lose it all 👏 the 👏 time! 👏

It’s a little glitchy but overall it’s amazing👌! I needing UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp and I’m so glad it works though if you want control of more than one you need to pay but that’s fair and very easy! 😆😃 it doesn’t freeze or pop up ads don’t show that much sooo I’m happy! 😃

App is excellent, but there’s a issue of being required to purchase it numerous times for each different iPhone, or iPad. Please fix this issue. I had pay twice for premium app version: one for my iPhone and my mom’s iPad. I’m ain’t going third time, or fourth for my other iPhone, Ave iPad. That’s too much now!! I think it might be a app software issue on the developers part.

Free trial works just fine but ads pop up after 4 clicks. You could support UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp by paying $4 to remove ads and control multiple tvs.

I keep misplacing my remote, so I downloaded UniversalSmartTVRemoteApp and it works like you expect. Easy setup, on off, change the channel, all the controls you want.

Finally got a remote app to work with my 2016 Samsung. I watch pretty often so having this in my phone makes it easy

I use this as my sole remote for my Samsung q70a smart tv. Only complaint is you don’t get EVERY option that you get with a normal remote

And now we can each control the television without having to lose the remote :)
