Love it! Used it for my RN-BC

I just wanted to inform you guys that I passed my certification test the first time just practicing with your app! Thank you so much! I had upgraded to the premium access. It gives you 500 practice questions. You can set when your test date it not only remind you every day that you need to practice but let’s you see how many days you have left till the exam. Different modes to practice-10 question, timed like five minutes when you’re waiting in line somewhere, weakest subject. The statistics are accurate! It made me confident going into my test. I practiced until all my subjects were above 80%. This is a very good investment! Very useful app. Very user friendly

Great for CCRN

Bought NursingPocketPrep in preparation for taking the CCRN about a month before my test date. Great app to keep yourself on track studying, and with 800 practice questions it was easy to get a handful of questions in a day. You can also flag questions for review, and the explanations are nice- they’ll address why each option is/isn’t correct.

Overall I would recommend this to my friends and colleagues. It helped me tremendously in passing my test. Cheers!

Not Helpful and Expensive

I downloaded NursingPocketPrep to prepare for my CNOR certification exam. I hesitated to download it because it was $20 for one month and that in itself is absurd. I went ahead and downloaded it because I wanted to have the ease of studying right from my phone. I had it for a few weeks and then NursingPocketPrep updated and lost all of my progress, annoying, but I kept using it. Since it lost all of my progress though, I began getting repeat questions. A few of the questions too are not aligned with the CCI CNOR information making some of these questions have incorrect answers. These questions are a lot harder than anything needed to know for the exam and ended up being the least helpful of my study materials. I would not recommend NursingPocketPrep. If it was free or maybe $5 it could be, but absolutely not worth $20.

Trash questions, don’t waste time or money

I’m a laid back guy, and could count on one hand the number times I’ve actually written a review on something. Worst CCRN app I’ve used yet. Questions all arise from seemingly the same source per the explanation citations. Most of the questions are entirely too easy. The remainder are completely opinionated and not backed by any standards of care or peer reviewed literature. Prime example that actually made me write this review was “What is the patients and families biggest need upon being admitted to the ICU?” Per this whack app and singular source, it was that the Pt & family be reassured they are receiving the best care possible, two even dumber answers and I selected begin planning discharge needs *Standard of Care*. Seriously worst purchase I’ve ever made on App Store.

Great! Passed CMSRN

I used NursingPocketPrep to study for my CMSRN certification and I passed! Great study questions with good rationales. I do wish that the rationales provide more pictures on some answers though to better understand. I would do question sessions and just answer and then read the rationale to process the correct answer. Great app, bought the premium so I can access all the cool features! I recommend!

Convenient

I am currently using NursingPocketPrep for study for the adult CCRN exam. I like how easy it is to study, anywhere I have my phone, and that I can go back to the book content using the referenced page numbers. The only downside I’ve noticed so far are occasional typos and misspelled words, but these don’t seem to contradict the information in the book. Great study app!

Passed PMHNP Certification Exam

I typically don’t write reviews but decided to write one because NursingPocketPrep really helped me in studying for the ANCC PMHNP Cert Exam (which I passed on my first trial). I loved the fact that I could access questions any time and any place using my mobile devices including my iPad. I bought the premium version with 800 questions. I highly recommend this as an excellent study aid - it’s also cost effective. Well worth the investment!!!

Best Question Test Prep

Used this for a month, after taking a review course that only had 10 questions. I used it daily and found that the ideas and concepts were the same on the CCRN test. This definitely helped me pass.

Discrepancies and Incorrect Answers

I don’t typically write reviews but felt compared to share. I’ve been using NursingPocketPrep for a couple weeks in conjunction with reading CCI’s exam prep book (the administrators of the test) and have found many incorrect answers and discrepancies. I have emailed my questions to the support team and they have so far rewritten 1 question. This is respectable and the only reason I gave 2 stars.

I’m not saying every question/answer is incorrect but take their answers with a grain of salt and trust your books/sources.

Why T/F?

I probably would have given NursingPocketPrep a full 5 stars but I do not want to practice T/F test taking when it’s not that way on the test. I paid for a qtr subscription so I had enough for my study time and I was disappointed that I kept getting T/F questions. I can’t practice my test taking skills when it’s not set up the way the exam is. I stopped using NursingPocketPrep because of this. Wasted my money.

CCRN Prep Not Accurate

Would love to give this prep a better rating for CCRN prep, but unfortunately it’s not really close to the question format/phrasing/content seen on the official test.

I have used the EMS prep app for both EMT and Paramedic, and they were both very close to the test; however, this is a long shot from adequate study for the CCRN.

I took all 800 questions 2x on top of regular prep, so I was very familiar with the type of questions and content covered in NursingPocketPrep . Unfortunately this is not the resource for CCRN question banks.

PCCN Prep

I personally don’t feel like NursingPocketPrep helped a ton with preparing me for the type of questions I saw on the PCCN exam. I felt like the majority of the questions were basic knowledge questions, not critically thinking questions. There weren't very many questions in regards to patient symptoms that make you figure out the diagnosis, then treatment which is what the bulk of the PCCN exam is. I can’t speak for the other exams but I wouldn’t buy this again for future certifications.

Truly worth it! Passed my test today!

The questions helped really train my brain to be in “test taking mode” I only purchased the monthly subscription and after 2 months of quizzes, I took my med surg certification test and passed 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Highly recommended!

So far so good

Have enjoyed the easy of being able to take a quick test when I have down time. Feedback is also helpful.

Not useful for ANCC MEDSURG-BC

NursingPocketPrep has 100s of very specific, nuts-and-bolts type question and the ANCC exam is none of that. I walked out of the exam within the last hour and can tell you it’s composed of patient education, delegation and priority questions. I chose Pocket Prep due to all the good reviews, but in hindsight they’re all for different exams. The Saunders NCLEX prep, or searching “med surg” or “rn-bc” on Quizlet is much more useful. I did all 750 Pocket Prep questions and none of it appeared on the exam, don’t waste your time or money. Good luck!

Not quality questions

The CEN questions are more so general nursing questions rather than specific to emergency nursing. Additionally, the questions are not well thought out or well written. Not ENA or BCEN quality. It feels like the author just scrambled to find 800 questions that could fit the criteria of CEN questions but isn’t familiar with the actual test. I feel I was misled and wish for a refund.

Here’s an example of a “CEN Question”.

“Which female organ is responsible for protecting a fetus?”

Great questions

I used NursingPocketPrep to prepare for the PNCB- PC exam. I passed! I found the questions very helpful. I liked the QOTD and the ability to see my stats.

I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately NursingPocketPrep kicked me out half the time and then forgot my Premium Subscription until I quit and reopened. So NursingPocketPrep is problematic but the content is great.

Nurse

I absolutely love the practice questions and explanations. I study best by practicing test questions. It’s great that I have NursingPocketPrep on my phone and can answer questions throughout the day when I have time. I hope I will pass my test by reviewing these questions

PMHNP

NursingPocketPrep is really convenient and helped me pass the PMHNP boards on the first try. I love that I can log in on a computer and use it on my phone. The material is really helpful and relevant to the boards. Rationales are to the point. Thank you !!

By

Totally worth it! Passed CNOR first try

I used this for my CNOR and passed on the first time. I really like how it keeps track of all your progress, has rationales, and references. I highly recommend NursingPocketPrep if you’re taking your CNOR!

Pocket Prep for CMSRN Review

I purchased the Pocket Prep 3 month subscription in March when I decided to take my exam! Because of the black-out exam dates this year due to the blueprint change, I wanted to take my exam before 5/15 so I only had 2 months to study when I purchased NursingPocketPrep ! I made it through all 1000 questions and loved using them for practice! Each question provides rationale after. There are a lot of features I like, such as studying only missed questions, new questions only, or your ‘weakest subject.’ It reminded me a lot of using UWorld to study for the NCLEX! I’ve had my RN since 2019 so it’s been about 4 years since nursing school and NursingPocketPrep helped all the knowledge I don’t use everyday trickle back in! I passed the CMSRN exam on my first try! Good luck! 😁

Helped me pass the PNCB PNP exam!

I loved the convenience of this application. One of the best things to do to prep for the exam is to take tons and tons of practice questions. It was great to be able to open NursingPocketPrep no matter where I was or what I was doing to take a quick 10 question quiz or answer the QOD. While some questions are repetitive, this helped me. I also appreciated the rationales and the sources to back them up. I used NursingPocketPrep, the “purple book” (Silbert-Flagg), and took the NAPNAP PNP review course, and passed my boards the first attempt!

By

Passed on the first try!

5 years ED experienced RN here.

I pretty much solely studied with this and any time I felt I needed extra information, I used the Sheehy’s Manual of Emergency Care, which is what most of the questions refer to in rationales.

I had a couple questions I disagreed with, and when providing proof, they responded and changed the questions.

It was a great experience studying with this and it’s awesome that it syncs up to the web browser version. Loved being able to create my own exams based on missed questions or worst subjects. I did all 1000 questions twice, and I feel like that prepared me a ton.

Highly recommended app! Study when you’re bored, and just do a quick 10!

Impressed with cost

I feel like I am able to review so many questions for a small upfront cost rather Tina paying hundreds for a Q bank. Questions aren’t totally perfect but more than good enough to help me learn.

2023 PMHNP Exam

I downloaded NursingPocketPrep and loved it. You answer questions and it gives the correct answer and rationale so you can read up on every topic as you go. I did ask 1,200 questions and then went back and answered all incorrect questions until I was at 100% correct. I will also say that I created my own study guide and studied off of some quizlets in addition to NursingPocketPrep. I did pass the first attempt. I know that some of the information on NursingPocketPrep directly led me to correct answers on the exam, though not exact questions obviously.

Helped a lot

I just took the CNOR exam, and passed the first time. I used a combination of methods: AORN prep course, CCI review book with questions, and NursingPocketPrep.

I feel in general, these questions are more in depth and detailed than the actual exam was, but it helped me get into the “best choice” mindset and reviewed topics I wasn’t familiar with.

This app works!!!

I studied NursingPocketPrep for 3 months before taking my CEN exam. I passed with ease. I felt prepared and ready when test day came. I would definitely invest in NursingPocketPrep if I were you! It’s so convenient to open it up and practice instead of scrolling social media. Great app!!

By

Passed PNP-PC

I used this to study for one month with the premium subscription. I liked being able to take quick quizzes during down time, like waiting for my appt or on my train commute to work rather than using my big study books. The questions were spot on and I appreciated the rationales. Would recommend using this to study for PNP-PC board exam

Helped me pass my CEN!

I used NursingPocketPrep to study for my CEN. The content that was on NursingPocketPrep was very beneficial for my learning and therefore, passing the CEN. I am now studying for my CFRN! I highly recommend the premium subscription. I did all 1000 questions in the test bank more than once and the quizzes to ensure I was ready! I did this over a span of appx 2 months.

Excellent study tool

I passed my ANCC’s Medical Surgical Certification exam today! I cannot divulge the test content, however I felt very prepared for taking the exam. This study tool was very helpful. I appreciated the large question bank and study reminders NursingPocketPrep provides. This morning, I awoke to a text from Pocket Prep telling me “Good Luck.” One request is to have the quiz bank make available questions filtered by system or disease state for “build your own quiz.” This would further allow me to focus on weak areas identified in my studying. Thanks again Pocket Prep! Sincerely, Jeanine S, BSN RN and MedSurg- BC
