I heavily insulted our crawl space and sealed the sand floors and posts with plastic last fall at our house up north.

Being able to remotely check the humidity and make adjustments has been incredible.

Lowering the humidity in the crawl space lowers the humidity to the house.

Frigidaire App

How easy and Fantastic Frigidaire20 is to use. I enjoy it very much and my air conditioner works perfectly. Thank you

Sadly wouldn’t stay connected

This dehumidifier is deep in my cellar, and my WiFi is up 2 flights. Not sure if that is why, but, It connected briefly, once.
I don’t have enough Lifetime minutes left to spare for the long struggle *sigh*. Also uses over $50 month in electricity.
Sad all the way around. 😭Will try another brand in the future if I live that long.

fridgedale Air Condition

The use of Frigidaire20 for the air-conditioning unit has improved since I’ve purchased the unit. However, it would be nice if it wasCompatible with Apple HomeKit

Always lost connection

I have to reconnect most of the times. Hope the company come up with a solution or updates to address this issue.

Huge Improvement Over Old App

There are many negative reviews which must have been made when Frigidaire20 first came out or before the most current update. The transition from the old app to the new app was so seamless that even though it told me I would have to reset my password, I didn’t have to. After logging in once, Frigidaire20 asked to look for items on my network and to send me notifications and when it loaded. It then appeared to crash, but when I opened it again, it simply asked to confirm my login info with a different looking login screen, but I still did not have to change my password, which is preferable as we have one login for the family. After that, my a/c was already in Frigidaire20 , setup and working (much to my surprise after reading all of the reviews)! It also responds so much faster than the last app that was often buggy for us and we often got error messages. I will update this review if anything changes, good or bad.

Don’t bother.

I feel as if I have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting Frigidaire20 to work. Worthless garbage, would rate lower if I could.

App needs to be updated or rewritten.

Although the version one application did glitch from time to time, it was still better than this one. I held off on giving this review for a very long time knowing that a brand new app will have some preliminary glitches but usually after updating it, it should have gotten better by now. And to the people who wrote four-star and five-star reviews for Frigidaire20, I’m pretty sure that you either work for Frigidaire or you wrote the application because there’s no way it could possibly ever work for you in the way that it should. As a software developer myself, I understand how these things work and after having waited so long for a working app, it should have been debugged and working perfectly by now.
I can’t tell you how many times I get the lost connection error for absolutely no reason when nothing has changed and then two or three hours later suddenly it decides to function. This has put a bad taste in my mouth about Frigidaire altogether. I don’t think I will be buying any more of this product. Frigidaire obviously doesn’t care about all of the bad reviews that have been given on Frigidaire20, otherwise they would’ve done something about it. One person giving a bad review or even five people giving a bad review is normal but when everyone gives you the same review for the same reasons, there’s a problem.

Clunky, buggy, wonky...but it works sort of.

First version was annoyingly difficult, requiring you to log on to your new “appliances network” to connect. Be quick about it too, you don’t have much time before it shuts down again, restrung the process. So I eagerly updated to this version 2.0...sadly it looks prettier, has the filter warning built in, but is essentially the same...sometimes the air conditioner loses its mind, fortunately it’s not armed or possessing opposable thumbs, I think it might go haywire and try to kill me or the neighbors dog otherwise. No it’s not violent, it just forgets who it is, drops off its own weird little network/my WiFi bad handshake and won’t respond to anything but a reset. Then it’s business as usual for 1 to 4 months before that happens again, right about the time you take it down for winter (if you live in a place where this is required). Frigidaire20 basically seems like a workaround for problems created while it was built, a flaw worked it’s way in that they could not (or did not) find, so they worked around it in sloppy coding Frigidaire20 . End result is buggy...but when it works...it works fine! I think they need to start from scratch with 3.0 and making the process less arduous through hardware modem design in future as required.

Great appliance, great app

First, I am thrilled with the Frigidaire Connected Dehumidifier, which I purchased to replace a 6 year old Frigidaire unit that was shot. These are the best, in my experience: quiet, effective, and efficient. I actually bought the connected unit because it was available and inexpensive. The wifi connectivity and app get poor ratings, which explains the deal I found, because it’s the same unit as others less available and far less affordable WITH the added feature of connectivity.

Second, the connectivity feature and Frigidaire20 are actually awesome! In the reviews I read, most people who complain seem to have trouble connecting. I did, too, at first, but my house is fully automated, and I knew two simple tricks that often worked: (a) make sure your phone is connected to 2.4 wifi before you start, and (b) restart your phone before you start the connection. I have no idea why this works, but it often does. After doing both, I connected easily.

I can control the dehumidifier from my phone or using Alexa. I don’t know how often I will, but this is a great feature. I imagine I will turn the unit off while away for safety and then back on before returning home. It also nice to be able to check humidity and status in my basement without going downstairs.

Highly recommended!

This app is not even beta version, need a major redesign.

The summer started to warm up here in So-Cal. Today I started to use my AC again. When started the old app I was forced to upgrade to this new FRIGidkenAir APP 2.0!!! I mean the old app is no better but it work less worst then this downgrade. Like many reviewer here I am too are very frustrated of this buggy app. (Reduced and Limited features, like scheduling and timer). Setting up was a headache If you have Mesh Network in your home. I mean the old app is buggy too and slow in response like an old PC booting up. But it was some what ok. After so many years and now they came out with new app and they still could not improve it in any aspect. I am surprise that a very reputable name brand like Frigidaire have launch an app like this. A high schooler can program a dumb fan with an Adrino board with fancy schedule that can turn on and off with a mobile App with faster response time that make this Frigidaire App seem like a broken down old clock. In todays standard this is not even a beta version. Sorry just what to vent my frustration because I pay so much for this AC that with the features that doesn’t work.

My review keeps changing

Latest update 9/13- sigh...... I open Frigidaire20 and can’t change anything. I can’t turn on / turn off acs. If I manually turn it on/off I can make changes most of the time, but not all. But if I want to power on/ off from app I can’t. What a disappointment overall

I’ve updated this review 4 times, and here’s why. When I first bought Frigidaire20 , I couldn’t get it to open most days so 2 stars. They did an update and fixed that issue so then it was working pretty well! So 4 stars. Then there was a bug and had weird readings. Back to 2 stars. Now everything seems fixed again so I’m back to 4. Back and forth.
Right now this is working just fine for me. I wish there were options to edit your appliance name after you’ve paired it, but you can edit the name while you’re adding the appliance to Frigidaire20 . There are a few things that would make Frigidaire20 more user friendly, but right now it’s actually pretty good.
Overall I have been disappointed with Frigidaire for an app with so many issues. And trying to reach them through customer service was a waste of time. A long running, large company should have better apps when promoting WiFi appliances, and better customer service.

Latest review Nov 2020- with latest update, I get an error message every time I open saying “something went wrong”. It still works but error message pops up every time.

PLEASE HIRE SOMEONE TO PROPERLY WORK AN APP FOR EXPENSIVE APPLIANCES!!

Unfair Negative Ratings

Frigidaire20 does work.
As an IT professional and programmer, I have a better idea of what all has to happen and be working in the background for a home automation app to be successful.
Before you blame Frigidaire20 , check your router to see if the signal is strong enough and the settings or virus protection components aren’t interfering with the device’s communication to the internet.
Make sure that the internet connection is fast enough to handle the IO (upload and download) for everything using the internet bandwidth in your home.
Yeah, I get it, you don’t want to have to think about the details, you just want it to work. Me too, but problems can be anywhere from older firmware on your units, infrastructure issues at the server, problems with your phone or WiFi to yeah a bad designed app. Just don’t start there.

Takes adjusting but got it to work perfectly

Couldn’t ask for anything more than an App that works. There are some initial issues with it such as setting up the device with Frigidaire20 .

Advice: make sure you select connect on the device and then choose the WiFi component in settings. After that, go back to Frigidaire20 add your WiFi information in. From then, it took a few minutes and now our air conditioner works as expected with Frigidaire20 .

Improvements!

I’m pleased to share I’m seeing improvements with the new 112 version. In particular with my Quiet Temp 6000, the 106 app would load just fine in the morning (AM) but crash on load every time in the afternoon and evenings (PM) - 112 loads every time I’ve tried it so far. The jump in version numbers also shows effort and actual testing, having rejected version 11 and 112. Looking forward to the next release!

Note to other customers: it’s clear they are limited to updating Frigidaire20 only so are stuck with the firmware that shipped from the factory. That FW is fragile so some of the fixes like crash on schedule edit are made by disabling the ability to edit schedules.

Note to developers: the 14 slot schedule capacity is fine but next time you’re starting from scratch, include a field for daily/weekly/weekdays/weekends, so we dont have to eat up 7 slots adding a single 7-day identical schedule. And hire a developer from WEMO, those guys know how to do everything this needs to do.

Doesn’t work at all

Like many others, the original app at least work a little bit. This forced “upgrade” is completely useless. I can connect to my device, but within a few hours the connection is lost and I get the super helpful error message, “Something went wrong”. And that’s all you get. Nothing useful or helpful and it’s now been this way for weeks.

On another issue with Frigidaire, I just bought a house that had a Frigidaire refrigerator in it that was 10 months old. It was freezing things in the fridge part, so I called in to have it serviced under warranty, since it comes with a 1 year warranty. The service person on the phone told me she’d help me get the service I needed, she just needed to update my information. She then asked if I was the new owner of the fridge. When I said, “yes” she informed me that since it had been sold, the warranty was now void. What?! What company won’t stand behind its product for the first year? Really?

I highly recommend against buying anything Frigidaire.

Latest Update Fixes Nothing

Like everyone else, I’ve had nothing but issues with the new enforced app. It was a horrible transition, but I waited through the winter months thinking that surely it would be fixed by the time it started getting warmer and I wanted to use my AC again. No luck. First it couldn’t connect and I had to set it up all over again and it still constantly drops the connection. And secondly...the schedule. It was annoying enough that my settings couldn’t just port over, but try as I may, I cannot get a schedule set up. It crashes every single time. I literally just downloaded the new upgrade to fix “bugs” in the hopes that they’ve finally fixed the schedule issue and it still crashes. I just don’t get it. Is there no testing team at Frigidaire? How can you keep failing on basic functionality? It’s such a shame. I love the unit, but at the price point you pay for a “smart” appliance, you just can’t recommend it to other people. How many bad reviews does it take?

Works great .. when it works!

This is a great app to have. My window unit is in a place that’s hard to get to ( behind a book shelf and table ) so you have to stretch overtop of furniture to change settings. Frigidaire20 is great to have so that’s not necessary. However there’s a lot of problems with app. It logs me out randomly, then I have to reprogram ac to app. Then half the time while doing this it says error , cloud error or an unknown error. Says my password isn’t correct ( although its saved in my phone ) then next time password is right but I’ll get error message. Tonight it logged me out again , I reprogrammed ac to app successfully but now it won’t let me register my ac ( which I’ve already done when I created my account!) Registration is necessary to use app. It gets to 20 % complete and tells me there’s a problem. I’m gonna look into a off brand app that is compatible. Maybe I’ll be able to use more then a week without all this mess.

Worse than before

The previous app had connectivity issues galore. This new improved version seems to rather than correct the flaw has decided to enhance it. I’ve tried resetting the units reinstalling Frigidaire20 turning off my phone doing all updates. Bottom line it will work when it wants. More so if you use Alexa, because Frigidaire20 is garbage the interface is equally shotie. Also it will not let you delete notifications until it has been corrected. And it will not let you remove old devices. I have a unit that exists twice under two names. There apparently is not way to get rid of the ghost one. I do love the units themselves, and to change 4 to another smart AC would set me back $$$$, aside from having 4 units laying around. It would be nice if the company would just create an app that worked as expected with their own product. So buyer beware!!! I’ve heard the LG units and app work far better.

Complete junk. Download the old app and do without the new features.

I spent a good 30-45 minutes trying to get the 2.0 App to work. The device creates the network, but Frigidaire20 is complete garbage and does. It work. Based on the other reviews, it doesn’t work for most people. It’s not user error. The old app, without all the new features, works fine. What does that say about the quality of their products? Why would I spend my money on another Frigidaire product? Hopefully you read Frigidaire20 reviews before you purchase the product. I didn’t. I took them at their word. Fool me once, shame on you..... For now, I have my fingers crossed that eventually someone in the company will care enough to ask why they are advertising features that they didn’t test first and fix Frigidaire20 before they ruin the reputation of a 100 year old company.

Horrible support horrible customer service really sad

I had to look at everyone else’s reviews to see if I was the only one having such a hard time after buying three of these units I have contacted Frigidaire multiple times with them tell me they are working on it and they’re going to have a new app.. but I have to say this new app is worse than the first one I can’t believe there’s not someone at Frigidaire as big as a company as that doesn’t know how to make a decent app and make connected products work I have a Home diffuser Wi-Fi that works better than mess I’m really disappointed in the amount of money that I paid out for these air conditioners not getting what they were selling to me is not coming through on their promise selling stuff that really wasn’t worth the paper it was written on very disappointed

By

Impressively Horrible

I have never been compelled to write an app review until now. I cannot, for the life of me, fathom why they would discontinue a perfectly usable app for this absolute garbage. In the old app I could at least set a reliable schedule for my window unit. Now, I’ve tried to set a schedule several dozen times and each time it either times out or Frigidaire20 crashes. The one time it did take the schedule without timing out or crashing, I thought I was in the clear. But no, come 7pm, the programmed start time, the schedule was totally ignored. Perfect! Back to square one. I don’t even want to waste my time emailing the company about this, because given they unleashed this tortuous app upon their customers, they must hate the people that buy their products.

By

Unnecessary delays during setup

The controls are still not smooth. For instance the second you make a change to any of the settings like temp, fan speed, and cooling Frigidaire20 immediately greys out and has a loading ring that spins. It almost like the people developing Frigidaire20 don’t use it. This should be seamlessly integrated into the Apple home kit and the application should remember your last setting so all you have to do is turn it on. There is a lot of improvement to make Frigidaire20 user friendly, and you have to dig for the ionizer setting instead of having all of your control on the main landing. One other note is if you use Frigidaire20 , the unit ignores controls from the actual IR remote.

Loses connection every 2-3 days

I mainly bought this “smart” A/C because my sick dog needs cool room temperature, and I can control this unit while I am at work, I thought... WRONG!! It loses connection every 2-3 days. When I tried to turn this A/C unit, connection was lost! It literally happens every 2-3 days. So very annoying... Each time, I need to reboot the A/C, reconnect. Why did I spend $500 to but this fancy unit if this function is not working?? I literally bought this unit for “smart” function so that I can control the unit from wherever I am. I am so worried now that it gets hot here again, and my poor dog does not have room temperature he needs.... This is absolutely not ok.... I wish I bought the different brand... very disappointed.

Uh, what?

I have 5 AC units in my home. With the first app, I could connect all of them and manage them properly through app and Alexa. Right before winter 2019, the first app seemed to be losing connection to devices and Alexa stopped working across the board. I put the units in storage and didn’t break them out till this last weekend. Seeing there were still issues with Alexa, I discovered a 2.0 app. Upon download and account creation, o started the process of discovering and connecting to the AC units. I can get to the point of selecting my units in WiFi settings but Frigidaire20 never sees them. I’ve tried this on all 5 and they all fail. I’ve gone back to the original app to manage them and have Alexa working with 4 of the 5.

By

Absolutely useless app because it crashes constantly

I have been using the previous version of Frigidaire20 with an older model for a few years no problem. Now that this forced migration to the new app has happened, I am seriously regretting my decision to stick with Frigidaire. Reporting Frigidaire20 to Apple because it functionally useless, let me know if you want the video of it crashing continuously (even after multiple uninstalls/reinstalls, removing and re-adding the device, even a whole system iOS update! Frigidaire tech support needs to get on the issue immediately, it’s already AC season. What point is having a “smart” appliance if you can’t even pair a device to schedule???

By

Really bad piece of software

This product just doesn’t work. It doesn’t do its base functions of connecting the device and keeping it connected once it is connected. The steps to create the initial connection are confusing and convoluted. I have spent over one hour getting the initial connection and re-doing it once drops. Then for no apparent reason the connection drops. I have to repeat the arduous, painstaking step to make the connection again.
This is very troubling since the Fridgeaire de-humidifier works great and this garbage software detracts from the overall ‘good feeling’ I have for the brand. Please update the microcode on devices and this software to improve the customer experience. Thank you.

Zero Stars

I spent nearly 30 min trying to get Frigidaire20 to work. After verifying my email it got hung up but I finally got that part to work. Then, I entered in the product registration information. The date of purchase field only had options starting July 2021 (I purchased in May 2020) and all the date options were gray and I couldn’t select them anyway. Then, I didn’t select anything and clicked back and it entered today’s date. I was able to edit the date so it was correct. But even after doing this three times it asked me to verify the information and wouldn’t let me continue the process (error ecp0108). So much for paying extra for this function!
