511 Wisconsin Reviews

I use 511Wisconsin for seeing road conditions around the state, not for me but for work. I am a purchaser. I get a lot of freight deliveries. App used to allow me to enter the WI511, now it wants to track my location and talk to me about road conditions. I don’t need that. I work 5 min from home. I would be more likely to get into an accident if my phone just turned on while driving. Very disappointing to see the change. App has no option to decline tracking.

Tried to use 511Wisconsin to check the road conditions and it wants me to allow tracking and other notifications, but I don’t have an option to not allow it. It states it as “if you would like” but the only option is to click allow to move on. I don’t need these, I only want to see the road conditions. Deleted 511Wisconsin right away and will find another way to see conditions.

Really frustrating app. The winter conditions color overlay requires extreme zooming to accurately see the intended color. App forces you to accept push alerts when you open it. And it randomly rolls from the map to the alerts menu, even if the screen is not being touched. MN app has a lot more useful features - and it works. Someone spent a LOT of $$ just to move from old app problems to new ones.

I rely on thus app often as I drive hundreds of miles a week. Road conditions WERE easy to see before. At this time the lines of coloration are quite difficult to see as they are quite thin

511Wisconsin is only useful if you are traveling on large major highways. The apps for Minnesota and Iowa are extensive and cover all major roads and highways, but I’ve been waiting years for a decent road conditions app for Wisconsin. Don’t waste your time downloading this one unless you only need conditions for major highways.

This is so much better than the previous 511 App. Still wish it was like MN and IA’s though. Question if those saying they liked the previous version ever actually used it! THAT one was unusable!

Needs to work o WiFi only devices as well. I have a WiFi only iPad that’s always connected to WiFi and it would be nice to use this instead of the website. So might was well remove it from all iPads. After quick check looks like all the other 511 apps would work on my iPad.

Every day is a different route for me. With the old app I could get alerts to specific counties I selected (my territory) now I can’t. Old app saved me multiple times when a closure was posted. My routes are not set day to day or even hour to hour.

I AM NOT GOING TO ENTER A ROUTE EVERY TIME I WANT TO TRAVEL! I MAY HAVE 4-6 DIFFERENT ROUTES IN ONE DAY!

Old app was WAY better

The old app was light years better than this one. You can’t see the colors indicating winter road conditions. The new app also doesn’t work on the iPad, which I always check before leaving home. I suppose 511Wisconsin is better than nothing, but not by much.

Access to my location is not required to provide road conditions, but is required to use 511Wisconsin . Even just “Allow While Using” is not sufficient to to permit use of 511Wisconsin . This is a non-starter.

The lines for winter driving conditions are almost impossible to see. Please put the line thickness back to how it used to be.

I just wanted to know the road conditions during the winter weather storm today fir my drive through wisc and I couldn’t figure it out . Such a simple question, such an important answer . Thanks for nothing

I liked the old app-could see what I needed and didn’t have little camera faces messing up the picture. Tried to put on my IPAD but said I needed IOS 12.0 or better ! I have 13.3 and it won’t accept it. Real disappointment!

This newer version is extremely difficult to see the different colored lines for road conditions. The older version was also way easier to navigate. I drive a lot of miles daily and really depended on 511Wisconsin. Very disappointing.

New is not always improved. The older one is much better. Please bring it back. I can’t get this one on my iPad and the winter road conditions are difficult to see on my iPhone. I really loved 511Wisconsin before you ruined it.

The winter road condition colors are too thin and small to easily read. Likewise 511Wisconsin doesnt work on my ipad. Very disappointed, especially since I worked in IT at WisDOT for over 30 years. Bring back the legacy app.

Tried 511Wisconsin. Very difficult to setup. Don’t waste your time .

Maybe because 511Wisconsin is new?

During setup, I was forced to agree to notifications that I didn’t want in order to complete the setup and use 511Wisconsin . At that point, I terminated the setup and deleted 511Wisconsin .

Old app much more user friendly. Old app would give road alerts by county, allowing you to see the alerts and plan ahead to take a different route. 511Wisconsin YOU HAVE TO LIST YOUR SPECIFIC ROUTES, AND TIME YOU’LL BE DRIVING THEM. YOU ONLY GET ALERTS ON THOSE ROUTES. NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL.

The color and thickness of the winter road conditions map are are too narrow and dim.
Make them bolder and brighter and more legible.
Copy the old app or the Minnesota 511 app.
I hate this new app. Fix it

I am unable to get 511Wisconsin on my iPad. On my phone the road line colors are impossible to see.

Extremely difficult to see road conditions. Minn 511 is way better.
