While it was free to downlaod it provides no real function for actual budgeting. It's easy to input information and I like how it doesn't require any connection to my bank account.

However, that is the only good. Once this app and income are put in each day is its own day and account balances don't carry over from day to day. There is no way to organize, or view monthly or weekly balances.

Honestly I can create somthing better then this on excell. If you want a free budget tool that doesn't provide any use then this is great. If you actually want to be able to view running balances to be able to actually budget then don't use this one.

-Ability to put sheets in folders! I would love to make a “Credit Cards” folder and then add sheets in it for all my credit cards.
-Recurring this app (for subscriptions services).

If these two things were added I would happily pay for the full version of Expenses !

Expenses overall is really good but one vital missing feature for me is to view transactions and stats of multiple or all sheets together.

I use sheets as "accounts", like my different bank accounts, mobile money accounts. And I make different same category transactions with different accounts/sheets but have no way to view totals of a category for example.

I will definitely change my rating to 5 once this feature is implemented in the future. But even as things stand, I still think the 8 dollars I paid for it was worth it because of iCloud sync and the clean Mac UI.

Expenses does the basics for managing transactions. It is easy to enter data, the user interface is well designed, and it has some nice report features that you can look at on your device. However it’s reporting feature is sub-par to similar apps. There is a PDF report of transactions but the report is basically a text list, the export does not look anything like the formatted tabular display of the main sheet in Expenses . Also, there is no option to include (or generate separately) PDF reports of the stat or trend charts views. This was very disappointing. I would have expected a much better formatted PDF report with transaction data in a tabular layout. For what is provided, it could have been a simple plain text copy to clipboard. The current format is not professional; not something I would use for a work report or a report to share with others. Also: can’t sort transactions oldest to newest or group by category.

This is a great app for tracking this app. I love the clean interface, how easy it is to enter a transaction, and that I don't have to connect to any external websites. The desktop and iphone apps sync well and feel like the same app optimised for each platform.

I use this to track my checking and credit card charges so there are two things that I wish it included.
1. The ability to transfer this app/incomes between "sheets"
2. A checkbox or some way to mark this app/incomes as cleared/posted

Other than that, it does everything else I need this kind of app to do and does it well.

I couldn't find an option for an automatic sheet to be created each month with the savings of last month rolling over. In case it does exist, Expenses deserves a solid 5* from me!

I was very happy and surprised to find Expenses. It's simplicity and elegant design and functionality are really refreshing in today's sea of "do everything for everyone" apps. I love that it does not have a subscription nor does it collect any user data. I'm able to use it with my wife via the iCloud syncing and keep our shared finances synced up. There is one feature which is missing from Expenses (in my opinion) and I reached out to the dev to ask about his thoughts on it. To my delight, he responded and took the time to listen to be my feedback about the potential feature. While he did not commit to added the feature, Expenses has enough going for it that I happily purchased the full version. I'm excited to see how Expenses progresses. I can only hope it stays simple and easy, going forward.

Expenses is good although a bit limited to free members. With the new update, there was a bug where previous sheets did not initially show up at open which caused me to panic thinking the updates had somehow deleted them. Apps like this one seriously can’t afford bugs like that because they deal with money. Thankfully the sheets showed up after closing and reopening but it was serious enough that I had no idea what I was going to do if that had been the case. I don’t want to look for an alternative since I like Expenses but wow that seriously made me panic.

I got so hooked on managing my finances with Expenses it’s scary! Now I know whenever a dime is missing from my pocket, and sit to search why is that money missing or why there’s extra money! It’s very useful!
It’s got a couple bugs, yet to be solved, like sometimes the balance that shows outside of the sheets it’s not the same as the one showing inside, so you have to add an expense for it to recalculate and then you can go ahead and delete the expense, It’s a minor bug but I bet it will go away with time!

I had a problem using the search feature on my iPhone, and the developer quickly helped me fix it. I bought the Pro version of Expenses because it’s reasonably priced and what I need to keep up-to-date lists of everything that I spend money on.

Love how Expenses is simple with all the basic things you may need for someone to track where their money goes. Lots of other apps overkill you with features to justify a costly annual subscription. Expenses charges a fair amount for a wider range of features that are actually useful for my use case. It’s like a spreadsheet but way more appealing to the eye, easier to enter transactions, and auto creating graphs to see spending over time.

I must say, Expenses has pleasantly surprised me with its simplicity and accessibility. The user interface is straightforward and easy to navigate, making it a breeze to record all my this app quickly. What I love most is the ability to create custom categories, ensuring that everything I need to track is accounted for.

Using a cursor to drag down the archive of my sheet is becoming more difficult as the list grows longer. Is it possible to add a function that allows us to "touch" the cursor in some neutral zone on the sheet and then use our up/down arrows to scroll and move? Also, if the solution is to begin a new sheet each year, would it be possible to merge those sheets for purposes of comparing spending habits from year to year and looking at spending categories across all years from more than one sheet? I keep an account of Donations and gifts given to people. This works so well because it is not tied to some bank account. It just is a simple ledger that automatically keeps a balance. perfect. Better than a spreadsheet.

All I want is to track this app. It is simple and straightforward. The best part is that items paid from my wallet automatically get entered. Thank you for developing Expenses. I was looking for something without bank/charge card accounts, budgeting etc. This is perfect.

My wife and I use this to track our weekly and monthly budget. It’s so simple to use, reports are simple and informative. The customer service is phenomenal as well when we needed to use it! I highly recommend Expenses

Expenses is so easy to type in my income, put in my this app, set a frequency if needed. Then bam!! It tells me how much I have after every paycheck. What I love the most is when I have reoccuring bills, it'll tell me how much i can expect to have when that time rolls around!

For about one year I used to record my this app on a Numbers spreadsheet I created. It worked fairly well but lacked certain features. I purchased the pro version of this app end it is now on my iPhone and Mac. It does far more than my spreadsheet did and it is far easier to use I’m really happy with it.

This is exactly what I have been looking for - a simple budget tracker for my kids. All they have to do is click one to crate an entry, add a name and an amount, and that’s it!! Expenses will do the calculations, add the date, etc. Bonus point for charging an upfront cost and not a monthly fee. Thank you!

I have been looking for an easy to use budgeting and expense app, with a simple interface forever.

I had been using google sheets to track my spending, but over time that had become cumbersome. I’m also not comfortable sharing my bank information, but DO want to sync my iPhone with my Mac.

I did upgrade to the Pro version, but it was a “pay once and be done” purchase, and not a subscription .

Also I had a question about my screen view and received a response from customer service with an hour.

For my purposes, this is pretty much a perfect app.

Lots to commend. Well designed, works wonderfully, simple and still powerful. This isnt a full-featured budget app, but does allow you to work within a budget-friendly context and track both this app and income. It has the look and feel of a native Apple app and isn't intrustive or dominating in its functionality. Great tools, good support, simple and beautiful.

Exactly what I’m looking for: something with native UI, easy to use, collaboration, iCloud syncing, and is on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. I was debating between this and Spend Stack, but Spend Stack got so complicated with many confusing buttons and UI interactions. This one is simple and easy to understand.

This is the best this app app on Expenses Store. The way Expenses works using “sheets” is extremely flexible. The UI follows Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and looks perfect. The cloud sync works wonders with your Mac.
It doesn’t attempt to sync with your bank accounts or cards which is the best way to go about it.

I don’t use the sharing feature but would be amazing for couples. The stats and graphs are beautiful. Very worth the money to get Pro

I love Expenses. It has a clean and tidy layout and is user friendly and easy to navigate. Customizable and efficient, this makes monthly espenses a breeze. No more using "Notes" to track my this app.

My wife and I use Expenses to keep track of our finances every month and it is exceptionally good and well thought out. I’ve tried a handful of other apps but they either require a subscription or have too many or too few features and were a pain to use. Expenses makes it very easy for anyone to track and stick to a budget (or budgets) and have a better understanding of how their money is being spent.

I really cannot recommend Expenses enough - there’s nothing else quite on this level out there in Expenses Store and it is absolutely worth the purchase!

I've used a number of different budget and financial planning apps pn the iOS and Mac App Store, and this app takes the cake.

There are three things that se Expenses apart from the other.
1. Corss Plat form
its on my iPhone, iPad, and Macs, and it syncs flawly with iCloud.

2. No Subscription. One Time Buy
One Time purchase, and a reasonable price. Unlike other Budget apps I've used.

3. Up to date with New iOS and macOS features.
Widgets on both macOS and iOS, and Lock screen widget on iOS 16.

Great App. Highly Recomended

I use it to track my discretionary monthly spending. I need to keep myself within a tighter budget and this helps out considerably. I can't recommend it enough as it syncs across all your devices.

Before purchasing Expenses I love using this. It’s help me remember what I spend my money on daily base. But all the sudden the money amount that I enter no longer visible. So I thought maybe it’s time to purchase Expenses . The error still occurred Now I can’t even see the money I enter or see what is my total spending of the weeks or days. Please fix.

This was the tracking application I was looking for. Easy to use, I can customize the categories to match what I use. I love the statistics part of it. I can compare it to my written budget and conduct an analysis of my spending. Great application.

Expenses is a great solution for tracking this app. I had been tracking my this app on Numbers which was not optimal. Expenses is intuitive for Apple users. It is high on function and elegantly simple in design. Plus developer is very responsive and interested in user feedback.

A well maintained, iCloud-integrated app that works on macOS, iPadOS and iOS very well. Allows me to keep multiple running ledgers while adding to them and checking them in no time at all, from any of my devices. Simple but powerful and hasn't failed me once!

I was finally able to replace my previous expense tracking app with something that offers all that I need.

The this app app is gorgeously designed, easy to navigate, and everything syncs between my devices. Bonus: the widgets are clean and super useful.

I have been looking for a good app for a few months. I have bought one that seemd to be good, but was so difficult to set up and you had to purchase one for your Mac and Iphone, still dont understand that. I LOVE IT. I do have 2 suggestions:

1. I am currently on Disability and get paid on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, is there a way you can add the option under the "repeat"?

2. I know you already have an option to export, but can you have an option to automatically add to Icalander, or google or outlook?

3. Have a Notification option - in case buyers do not want it to import into the calander.

I've been looking for an app that would simply be a "calculator" of sorts for my monthly bills. I want to be able to see at a glance, what $ amount over or under i am in a given month and Expenses allows me to do just that. I've tried spreadsheets but it just wasn't the format that i want to see this data in.

One suggestion to the developer. I REALLY want to be able to sort the sheet data in reverse order from how it is by defaut. Expenses , by default, seems to sort sheet data by Date but in descending order (so end of the month bills are at the top and beginning of the month bills are at the bottom). I REALLY would like this to be the opposite by default.
