Pretty app ruined my great sleeper
2024-10-12
by 359flamingos
Since my baby was born he was a great sleeper! We started tracking after the 4 month sleep regression because that transition really impacted him and we wanted to be sure he got enough sleep. I noticed something off when he turned 5 months and Napper dramatically shifted his sleep need, however I stuck with it just for tracking purposes.
Slowly over time it “learned” my baby found it more interesting to be awake and suggested less and less sleep. At about 8 months, I turned to my husband and said “maybe our baby isn’t a good sleeper after all”. After about 2 months of terrible sleep, we hired a sleep nanny and she corrected his sleep in less than 4 days. He went from maybe sleeping 12 hours total sleep, to 12 hours night sleep and 3-4 hrs day sleep. Not to mention he no longer wakes up 2-4 times each night. I mean he sleeps straight through!
Really it’s our fault as parents for not recognizing this sooner, but for such a costly app I’m disappointed they don’t use better recommendation logic to determine minimum sleep patterns and wake windows. I can compare this to the Pampers app, which was much much better at that. I wish I would’ve spent the extra money for that one up front instead of just trying to save money.
I will say, as a person that works in tech, Napper has a nice UI compared to the others. Hence the 1 star.
No edit option after midnight
2024-02-04
by Jesiqueiros
Edited to address the developer feedback to be clear. Unable to use any longer without paying, so I can’t further explore how it could possibly be edited. But I tried many times in the history tab to much frustration - and I think I’m a relatively tech savvy person. From what I could see you are able to edit entries, but for example if your baby falls asleep for the night at 11:55pm but you don’t add until 12am, you are unable to go into the history tab and add that they fell asleep for the night at that time (again from what I could figure out). You can edit for example a specific nap entry. But when you click the add button, and enter a time in the past day, it believes you mean the future and gives an error. Highly suggest adding a date feature in with the time to make everything more easily editable in the past.
OP: Loved this in real time, but honestly who can remember to mark every single thing the second it happens? Once midnight rolls around there seems to be zero ability to go to the day before and mark when your child went to sleep. We are parents, sleep doesn’t reset at midnight. So confused by this!
Good for sleep, not so good for tracking
2024-07-18
by Donflopez
Napper is good, it’s spot on with the timing for naps. It’s not magic, our baby still wakes up many times through the night but is understandable as babies go through many things that will make their sleep challenging. I’m giving two stars not because the sleep tracking but because of the bugs and interface. - I love the graph that shows the day and night ahead but you make the effort of tracking everything and then the nice interface disappear and you can’t see how the night went again with the nice graph and only with the historical one which is awful. The sleep is split in two days and so hard to know what is for what night. - Tracking night wakings and things in general is difficult when you or your partner did it and you’re out of sync. You end up duplicating or missing things. - It’s also a mess using the widgets again keeping them in sync with your partner's. Most of the time they’re not up to date and you know the baby was put to sleep and he has a night waking you use the widget and it is not the waking what you did but another sleep and Napper accepts it without complaining. - is not clear what you’ll do when clicking the widget. I’ll give 5 stars when those issues are fixed, but those are pretty big issues for me.
Not sure what the point is
2024-01-11
by Olivia24
I tried this after hearing good things about it, and after using for a few days on the free trial I’m confused what the point is. It just tells you to try to put baby to sleep if they seem sleepy, and it predicts (without much success in my experience) when baby should be ready for their nap or bedtime. It doesn’t have any secrets about how to get baby to nap or what to do if baby only contact naps or sleeps less or more than Napper says they should. I didn’t find the predictions helpful or find that they translate to better sleep.
Been using this for about 5 months. I don’t wants premium stats, just simple features for sleep. this app was awesome bc you could track basic things for free like naps & wake windows. Now they got greedy and charge to even edit your sleep time if you forgot to write it down past midnight. Really bad the past couple months. It also sometimes bugs out and does not recognize when i add night waking.
Can’t edit or add pauses in naps
2024-04-10
by StarWolf537
I love Napper, I love it more than Huckleberry for sleep tracking. It just makes sense to me. The only problem is that I can’t edit or add in pauses in sleep after the fact. It’s frustrating to pause his nap because he wakes up, only for him to fall asleep and then I forget to mark it on time and I either have to delete it completely or let it be an extra 10, 15, 20+ minutes than what the actual pause was.
When that changes I’ll rate it 5 stars!!
Great until regressions

by Teazt
I saw a lot of recommendations for Napper on reddit so I decided to give it a shot. For regular sleep patterns this thing is eerily accurate but if your LO deviates at all due to the insanely long list of reasons - teething, sickness, separation anxiety, etc or an inevitable sleep regression, the suggestions will be off track and sometimes really off because it’s still going off wake windows. I had downloaded it originally as I was desperate to figure out how to get through a regression but it’s not Napper for that. For example when my LO has a EMW I wanted good guidance for when they should nap next which based on my hours of research online (baby sleep can do that to you) but it’ll suggest the nap based off your LO’s typically wake window which isn’t ideal in these situations.
Despite my feedback I truly enjoy the UI and still use it to track sleep. My favorite is the ability to add pauses to naps which my other apps do not have. I do have faith that Napper will continue to improve though. Hope this helps
Was a 5 star

Napper was so amazing, spot on for our baby sleep cycles and easy to use. 2 weeks ago they updated Napper and now it is glitchy, it puts his last nap after his bedtime, it constantly will forget that we already put in a nap time or bed time and we have to try to remember and put it back in. Now if you forget to end a nap instead of being able to put in the time you have to end it and then go back and edit it, that’s not a big deal but just a small annoyance. Over all Napper is slower and less user friendly then before. wish they would go back to the old look.
Amazing but needs a few small tweaks

Overall Napper is awesome. With how different every baby can be I am astonished at how accurate the projected nap times are. Seriously, unless we are having a really off day they are within 30 min (usually closer) of projected time. Two small suggestions for things that would make Napper perfect. First being able to use with out internet connection would be helpful. When I visit family I go in and out of service frequently and I am not even able to log times without internet. I can see how it may not be able to update nap predictions but please at least let me log data!!! Second, a widget and watch app would be really helpful and would make Napper and easy 5 star.
this app has been creepy accurate at predicting my baby’s nap times and lengths and the time he will wake up. Biggest issue is that the formatting can be confusing. For example, if you stop a sleep timer (baby woke up) sometimes it will get confused and say something like “asleep for x amount of minutes” when you just inputted that the baby woke.. then when you try to manually fix it and input the right time, it says you can’t input a time greater than 6 hours…. Doesn’t make sense and it throws me off. When I happen to figure out the glitches, I love it. Needs some fine tuning for sure, then it would be perfect.
Almost perfect!

I am still in the trial period and I was hopeful it would be THE ONE for tracking my 3 week old’s sleep and nursing. Unfortunately, I really dislike the editing capabilities for nursing. If I pause a nursing session but don’t unpause right away when we restart, I can’t go back and edit that pause. So then if I try to edit the nursing time on the L or R side to correct the time, it won’t allow me to without completely deleting the pause, which then throws the whole nursing session off. Being able to note the time I restarted and edit the nursing session when my hands are free once again should really be made possible. Moms can’t always hit start immediately or should be able sometimes forget to for a fee minutes while still having the ability to have accurate time kept. That’s my only gripe with Napper and since nursing is half of the reason I really use this tracker, it’s a big deal for me. For that reason, I probably won’t even complete the trial period, but I wish I could! The sleep tracking is awesome but if I’m paying for an app I need to be able to track his nursing in the same place. — if Napper developers change this I would totally recommend and would purchase it!
Almost perfect

Found Napper specifically for tracking a sleep and very happy with it.. almost. I like the interface: the clock that gives you a full picture of the day or night with some sleep frame suggestions (not always correct for your child, but definitely by the standards). You can track naps and night wakes up separately. I wish we can swipe the clock as well between days and nights, instead of always going back to history and swiping there. But one star down for me is for the glitch. I’ve been using Napper for a little longer than a month and had to reinstall it at least 5 times.. sometimes interface just says hold on and no clock will appear.. one time it messed the day and night sleep and the whole history, the other time it just won’t open.. I hope it will be fixed soon, because so far I like Napper best from all others.
Somewhat helpful, but misses the mark

by Syj224
We’ve been using Napper for a few months and while the nudges for nap time have been helpful, I don’t feel like it’s really learning my baby’s patterns & will still suggest bedtimes that don’t align at all with recent or historical reality (she falls asleep within the same 30 min window every night for weeks and yet it’ll suggest bedtimes far outside of that even with adjusting the settings). I also feel like it isn’t offering any insights of all of the data being collected, so while the charts are interesting, a report card of sorts with suggestions would be ideal in helping parents correct sleep issues or just generally improve baby’s schedule as they get older.
After trying other apps I appreciate yours much more

Thank you for the awesome remodel I love it!! And I have already used Napper for over 3 months and the predictions are awesome and I love Napper I tried others because I really want one that has a Apple Watch app but none are as good as this app 😒 which is good to know I chose this app and it’s worth what I payed but also I really wish you step up and make a Apple Watch version so I can log the maps without having to take a phone bright screen out to do it. That would make it perfect 🤩 for me 🥰.
Day 1: Our 6 month old took 5 random naps, from 20-35 minutes, and went to bed at 10:30pm. We had to hold her until she fell asleep or she would cry and hyperventilate. This reflects her usual “schedule”.
Day 12: 3 long naps, the same times as the previous day, asleep on her own, with no help, at 8:30pm.
This has been nothing short of miraculous. It often predicted when she would fall asleep down to the minute. I thought she was just a terrible sleeper - turns out we’re just terrible parents. Alas. I wish I had started using this sooner!
Yes, you have to use your brain - sometimes the algorithm suggests things that don’t make sense (for instance, it once changed her bed time from 7:30 to 11:30 after she took a short nap in the late afternoon). But wow, if you’re a first time parent and are clueless, this might change your life!
The best app!!!!

I LOVE this app! I have used lots of baby trackers over my 4 kids and this one is hands down my favorite. I love the UI, it is beautiful to look at and easy to use. I love the predictions for the next sleep time and how it lays out the day for me so I can keep the times loose in my schedule for when baby needs a nap or to start bedtime. I love how Napper can differentiate between a night waking and waking up fully, the other apps could not and I would often have skewed data for sleep times. I forgot to set the timer for a nap the other day and this app notified me baby’s nap was late and asked if I forgot to set the timer! I have never encountered such a smart app. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to track sleep, nursing, diaper changes, etc.
Underrated

At first I though Napper was just like all the others saying it would help you out with finding your babies schedule but I have to say that this one is on a whole different level than the others.
The first day of course Napper is not up to speed on your baby and their schedules. But after just a couple of days Napper has learned when and how long my baby sleeps. It’s really accurate and detailed. My husband and I were in awe as we saw our baby getting sleepy around the time Napper would say it’s time for his nap. At first we were skeptical but we noticed our babies sleepy cues and realized it was on time.
We’ve continued to use it in comparison to an other app I was using and this app is by far so much easier for me and my partner to use. It even give you the option to share the same info with another person so my partner has access to all the same things I do on his phone.
I have loved Napper so much I have stopped using the one I had before( Baby tracker ). I highly recommend Napper for first time parents like myself.
But I will say, if this isn’t for you then do not force it. Mothers, you know your baby best, so do not believe that you have to stick with something if it doesn’t work out for you and baby. Trust your own instincts. You got this
So Freaking Accurate!

I LOVE Napper! It pinpoints my daughter’s sleep patterns to within a few minutes and has made sleep training SO much more easy.
I also really like being able to add medicine, feeding, and diaper changes. I don’t really use the feeding or diaper change logs so much unless I suspect a problem, but being able to keep track of when I last gave her infant Tylenol is super helpful to prevent overdosage.
Now the issues I have are you can’t add a medicine log if you have an active sleep log (like I put her down for bed, but she hasn’t fallen asleep yet). That’s just kind of dumb. Or, you can’t log a diaper change and then the start of bedtime. You literally have to wait a minute. Please fix this, guys.
What I would really like to see in future updates is Siri and Apple Watch integration. So, for instance, if I’m driving and she falls asleep, saying “Hey Siri, Nap Time “ and it logs a nap. Or “Hey Siri, End Nap” and the nap log ends. And have a quick button on the Apple Watch to log a nap or whatnot. These integrations would make my life sooo much easier!
Overall, this is an amazing app and I can’t recommend it enough.
Now I can’t live without it

This has been a GAME CHANGER for our family. You can share profiles with the other parent or caregiver and collectively track everything. And I mean everything. Napper is super thorough! You can log how long you’ve nursed on each side- and it REMINDS you which side you nursed on last. Like what!? It also helps me track pumping and diaper changes. The nap tracking is amazing and helps me remember when he needs to sleep. I also noticed when he’s getting fussy and I realize OH! It’s because it’s almost time for a nap! Huge fan. Don’t hesitate. Dow load it. Get the premium version. Do it.
I'm a first time mom..(I know, panic over everything and listen to advice you didn't ask for😂) I absolutely love Napper, it helps so much with my little guy's sleep schedule! It helps map out my day and his! I begged my husband to get the subscription so we can track everything and it's been amazing!
The only thing I would love is if there a way to save medicines, and then be able to pick them again. Like if I used Tylenol at 3pm and then do it again at 7 or 8, I can click on the comment and start typing and it already popping up as the selection.
The best! Still using it after months

I actually used this app simultaneously with two other sleep-tracking naps and this app was by far the best! Napper did the best job at predicting when my baby would fall asleep and I love how easily it adjusted to schedule changes (exp. Baby skipped their third nap- what time should I put them to bed, etc.). I also like how easy it is to see what my baby’s total sleep and total awake time for the day is. I’ve been using Napper since baby was 4mo (currently 7mo) and I have no plans to stop any time soon. It’s so easy to use and makes our lives much more predictable

I love this app! I’ve used 4 other sleep tracking apps (paid for) and this app has to be my favorite! I love the aesthetic of the layout and how accurate it is . I love that it includes adding the routines for nap and bed and how long they take so you can get an accurate understanding of how long bed time is really taking from day to day. I had a helpful interaction from the this app team via e-mail and definitely will continue to use Napper for my daughter !

We LOVE this app around here. Not only is the interface aesthetically pleasing and easy to use, this app has seriously changed the game around here. I work at home full time while caring for my child alone during the day and this app has helped me predict her naps and adjust my schedule accordingly. I’ve really loved using it and tracking her trends and wake windows has been extremely helpful.
Also—their support is awesome! I had some issues with my babies schedule not working and it was fixed almost immediately when I contacted support. Thanks this app :)
So helpful for difficult baby

I have a baby with a very difficult temperament. He fusses most of the day, so reading his cues is next to impossible. this app helps me keep track of when he’s most likely hungry, tired, etc. which helps me tremendously. He also has very low sleep needs and it’s been helpful to see his trends & statistics over time so I can follow his natural flow of the day rather than what’s recommended for average babies his age. I noticed a few bugs (nothing significant) and mentioned them via email to the developers- they responded immediately and all bugs have been fixed. Great app and amazing customer service!
this app has been the best app for my family to use in order to keep track of our babies naps and bottles. For 5 months I was the only one primarily putting in the times, but when it was time to go back to work I was very worried my little ones naps would get messed up. HOWEVER, being able to allow multiple users on Napper has been the greatest convenience. Everyone is able to communicate through Napper so we don’t have to worry about times for naps and bottles getting confused. Highly recommend for any parent but especially first time parents!! The literature that comes with Napper also has helped my husband and I immensely. Thank you this app!!

I never write reviews but I felt I needed to for this one. We downloaded this when our son was 7 months old and we were struggling to get him to sleep through the night and have consistent naps and it helped us so much. We now have an 18 month old who sleeps through the night and naps for two hours every day. I swear Napper helped us figure out our sons schedule and stick to it so he’s now a super sleeper. It’s also great that you can track other things like diaper changes and medications etc. the sleep training lessons are also pretty useful information. If you have a baby get Napper it will help!!!
I LOVE this app!

I don’t usually write reviews but this one definitely deserves it. I had been struggling with naps with my son who is 8 months old. Napper gets it right every time for him! I love that it sends a notification when it’s getting close to time for a nap. This isn’t an app that you just log naps. It calculates when naps will occur and for about how long. It is custom for your own baby. It changes automatically as your baby gets older and requires less sleep. I have only used the free version but I plan on paying for a subscription.

I never really write reviews, but Napper deserves all the praise!!! My 3 month old was a terrible this app and I wasn’t able to figure out her wake windows. this app has completely changed the way she naps during the day and has helped us keep track of her patterns. It’s amazing, almost every time she’s getting sleepy, we’re within 5-10 mins of her next nap according to Napper . It totally has learned her patterns and has helped us get on a great schedule. I couldn’t recommend Napper enough!!!!!!!

I very rarely write reviews, but I have been so impressed with this app I felt I had to share my experience. My son hit the four month sleep regression hard and my wife and I have spent weeks trying to figure out a sleep schedule that won’t result in a full on meltdown as soon as he touches the crib. this app’s schedule is so accurate that within one day we had him going down happily for naps and at bedtime. I highly recommend and tired parent out there give it a try.
so this is definitely the best baby tracking app i have found. what i am SUPER impressed with is they emailed me asking for suggestions on how to make Napper better…i sent them suggestions on a couple features i wished Napper had. well with this last update- they took every one of my suggestions and made it happen! great app and GREAT customer service! 😊

I wish I had found this months ago! I have been struggling with naps and I have only been using this during the free trial but I already know I need it and will be paying for the year.
I really wish it had a widget with the time until next nap. Also, an option to set your preferred bedtime like between 7-8pm. We keep getting scheduled a bedtime around 9pm which is a little too late. An Apple Watch app would be great in the future too.

Napper is amazing! Didn’t even take a full week for us to buy the full version. It’s been the most helpful thing for my fiancé and I. He works out of town quite often so this is a great way to know baby’s schedule day by day. If there was ANYTHING I could change, it would be adding in a bath option, breakfast, lunch and a dinner option. ANYONE reading this that’s debating on getting Napper, don’t debate. Just get it!

I struggled so much with finding a routine for my LO. Napper has taken a load off with trying to track wake windows and nap times. I really appreciate the 30 minute heads up until nap time- it has so far been exactly the amount of time I need to put her down. this app customer service is also outstanding & very genuine. Finally a targeted Instagram ad that really paid off.

Love it so far, convenient for sleep times. I was using another app 🍇 but after they started charging a monthly fee I switched to this one. No issues so far! i personally think it’s better than the other one because it’s not as chaotic when it comes to looking back at the times, just in one big circle.
I’ve been using this app for my daughter for 6 months or so. It’s become an essential for our family for keeping track of her naps. It’s crazy accurate and helps me to keep track of when to start looking for her sleepy cues, especially when I’m trying to juggle everything else that comes with motherhood!

Very very useful way to track as much or as little detain about a child and be able to manage handoffs more seemlessly to partners and other caregivers without them needing to hear and you recall when each event happens and how much of this or that was used/eaten/eliminated etc.
Thank you kindly For a very useful tool!!

This is hands down the best app I’ve used as a new mom. It’s amazing how accurate the estimated wake/sleep windows are and, as someone who does extensive academic research, I love that the science is backed by peer reviewed research. Not to mention it’s so aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. I just wish I would have known about this app sooner! It’s SUCH a game changer.

Wow it’s just not good enough to describe how good and accurate it is! Sadly I discovered when my baby was 10months and not SOONER; it has been live changing though. It makes our day routine better with less stress and I can plan around when to run errands without messing with her nap schedule. I love it and had recommended to every single parent I know!
Napper is pretty great but the customer service is even better! I thought I was locked out of my account and they contacted me and got me back in within minutes!
Napper has revolutionized how we care for our newborn. The nap predictor is spot on.

I do love Napper.. it’s a total game changer and keeps you on top of things! I love that it learns your babies sleep patterns and adjust naps and bedtimes to it.
However I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of the new look of the daily clock! It’s looks overwhelming and isn’t clean and simple like the original one.. it’s way too busy with all the icons and that’s the last thing I’m needing as a new parent trying to keep up with my baby’s tracker. I liked being able to see the stretches of naps and night time sleep without having to actually click the icon and the small colored lines of other activities..
Everything else looks nice and updated!
Napper said you could revert back but I can’t seem to find out how.. please help. Thank you!
