I had been using PantoneConnect for months, then all of a sudden, I need to login to extract? I tried logging in with both of my emails and it's just goes to screen where it says you need to login again.

Not paying for old features.

I’ve had no problem using PantoneConnect. I LOVED it For my personal inquire and my hobbies. Until now. You have to get a monthly/yearly subscription. for the same features I’ve been using for all along for free. I am not paying for a premium version that is THE SAME as the old free version. I get it. Business needs to make money. But asking $7.99 a month for the features I had access to a few days ago is not worth it. Nothing premium about it or worth it to me. If premium version offered only new features and the free was the same as it has been. I might be interested. I would love to be able to use these app more. But unfortunately I’m using it a lot less.

Pantone doesn’t play well in the mobile world

Kind of tired of being promised wonderful things and never receiving them when it comes to the mobile environment. I was shocked PantoneConnect was free and the card was only $15, only to realize Pantone is going to charge you $29 a year for the privilege of using an app that works poorly. I could see if they are no longer going to make the chips but they charge you an immense amount of money for a fan wheel of paper and now they’re going to charge you to use an app that works poorly. What do they spend all their money on? Certainly not app and software development. They need to go to Apple or an equivalent superior app developer to get it working correctly.

Ludicrously buggy, embarrassing for Pantone

You’d think that a brand as large and well funded as Pantone would be able to keep their apps in decent shape, but boy howdy, that just doesn’t at all seem to be the case. The extension on Adobe software is usable about 1 out of every 5 times, and PantoneConnect is totally useless without a “premium” subscription. There was a free Pantone cross reference tool available online, but I guess Pantone wanted more of that tasty tasty cash, so they removed that free feature and replaced it with this mess. Completely ridiculous that you’d ask for money suddenly for a feature you had free for years. Garbage.

Subscription doesn’t compare to beta at all

I am actually trying to rate it a 2.5.

I LOVED Pantone Connect when it was in its beta trial. I religiously use the color extract and the colors were near perfect every time. Not to mention the quality of the file you upload to extract from is always fuzzy. It was never fuzzy before I had to pay.

Now that I’ve subscribed and they’ve upgraded the look (I dislike it so much-beta was simple and to the point) the colors I extract never match anymore. It feels like a slap in the face considering I’m now paying for the features but it’s not even worth it because I can’t even get close to the color I’m trying to match like I did with beta.

I wanted to rate a 2.5 instead of 2 because I can create palettes easier and the different palette look options when exporting. But I dislike this update too much to rate a 3.

Pantone’s Digital Products are the Pits

This like previous Pantone apps is buggy, clunky, doesn’t really work as advertised and requires a paid subscription to display basic color data that is already available online. This side of Pantone/X-Rite’s business is laughably bad for an industry-leader in color management. Don’t even think about buying the Color Match Card they sell to use with PantoneConnect. Test on Pantone’s OWN BRAND COLOR in a perfectly lit environment and following their guidelines to the T resulted in a wildly inaccurate reading. Repeated attempts gave different inaccurate results. Simply useless.

Loved the app but unable to upgrade to premium

PantoneConnect says i can’t upgrade within PantoneConnect . PantoneConnect Store gives me no option to upgrade. The website shows me the prices but nothing happens when i click on the link to subscribe. I’ve tried on two different devices, i need to use PantoneConnect today and i am unable to access it due to this.

So bad.

This is the most non user friendly app I’ve ever used.
Constantly need to login. Why???
To add to my swatch palette, I have to click twice on the menu instead of just clicking the color.
If I accidentally click on the not free parts and go back, it doesn’t save where I was.
The most unbelievable part is we spent $800 on Pantone product but that doesn’t qualify for the 3 or 6 months free use of the whole product. Be better Pantone

Easy to use

Surprisingly accurate and works great on my iphone, and I just figured out how to measure right into Illustrator! Still exploring the rest of PantoneConnect but the navigation is easy and there is a ton of color packed in here.

New layout is hideous and clunky

Pantone Studio was a much nicer layout. This is super clunky and messy. As a designer, I gotta say it’s really ugly. I loved Pantone Studio’s export feature where I could pick photos and have the pantones to the side of the image. The new version literally dumps the pantones into the photo and wrecks the look...obscuring the image I’m referencing. Maybe get someone with a decent aesthetic eye when designing an app for designers.

Inaccurate results

Doesn’t work. I measured a dozen chips on my Pantone coated book and not one color even showed up in fourth place. Tried it in sunlight, complete darkness with phone light. Very disappointed. Tried different file modes in the phone. Still no luck. You would have to show me a video measuring a Pantone book using an iPhone 12 Pro Max to prove it works.

phone app ok , plug in is confusing

Wish i could find tutorials on using this. The phone app is way more intuitive than the maddeningly conplicated CC plug ins

Convenient!

Liking the navigation and design of PantoneConnect —easy to use and toggle between the different formula guides. Super convenient!

What's more useless than an app that requires a login that doesn't respect modern SSO security tokens? The developers who made it. There is absolutely NO REASON why I should have to enter my Facebook/Google password into your app, and I'm definitely not going to make a login directly with you. Get with the times.

Basically Useless

Sadly not usable. Every feature is subscription locked and you can’t purchase a subscription in PantoneConnect (nor can you purchase a subscription on the mobile website). You can’t even exit out of pop ups.

Absolute Swill

Been using Adobe and Pantone for decades. Now they don’t know how to play together at all. Paid money for both but have to pay again to connect the dots. Pathetic business model and worse app performance. Would give Zero stars if I could.

Not working on iphone12 pro

Says platform not supported.

Can’t login

I created an account in PantoneConnect successfully, but can’t login. No matter what I do the ‘login’ button doesn’t work. There’s no feedback, no error message, nothing. Sad considering nearly all PantoneConnect does it tied to a login.

doesn’t work with latest iphones

bought two of the color match cards for myself and a coworker and had high hopes for this matching service to streamline our color development process. was really disappointed to see it doesn’t work with my iphone 13 pro max and has no timeline to provide device usage. waste of money

Very buggy

When saving palette on iPhone blank screen freeze. Multiple times. Had to close and reopen app multiple times.

Ouch

I came here with high hopes. I am speechless. A company such as Pantone should have solid mobile offering. Not this time around. 😞

This is the most non user friendly app I’ve ever used.

I have created an account, downloaded the extension and signed in but keep getting the message 'Access Denied'. I've tried reloading as suggested but that hasn't worked either.
