Starts and skips

While driving through the park, the narrative would begin speaking and then stop as we passed the attraction . So we didn’t get to hear the information.

Trash

This tour only works if you start at a start point. It can’t pick up if you join along the route somewhere else. Also, the point of interest just keeps repeating itself. I ended up purchasing another GPS tour that worked perfectly. It’s is called GuideAlong. Get Guide along, it works perfectly.

Does not work.

The gps does not track well on the Acadia loop. It freezes and we never heard a complete overview of an area. My family was disappointed

Glitchy

Tried on iPhone 14 and iPad Pro and it kept locking up and crashing. After the 5th time pulled over trying to get it to work, we just quit trying to use it.

No audio output through car speakers

Check if AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide can play through your car speakers with the test before purchasing anything. Yes my phone was connected via Bluetooth. I even tried connecting to the USB port. IPhone 11 to 2016 Mazda. AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide is as useful as nipples on armor without audio output.

Impossible to plan

Impossible to understand how long is the tour? Do I need to book two days or one day or an hour in my plans to do this tour? Impossible to see the path and the plan of the tour without paying for it
Doesn’t make sense

Good content, poor app

I downloaded AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide to use in Acadia National park. The content was great but AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide keeps freezing and crashing. I had to reopen AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide more than 30 times and ended up skipping a few stops just due to frustration. The idea is great and content is good- but app needs work.

NOT GyPSy Guide Quality

AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide is fine, if somewhat unspectacular. The narration is adequate and the narrator does a nice job. Pretty good odds you will learn a thing or two from what he has to say.

If you’ve experienced the remarkable GyPSy Guide GPS apps, just know ahead of time but this is nowhere near that quality. The interface is clunky. It doesn’t allow you to listen to music, kindly interrupting like the GyPSy guide does. The GPS gates are omni-directional, and not very well-timed. The narrator interrupted himself more than once with the next gate. (And no, we weren’t driving too fast.) And this is only narration for one path in the park: the road from the main visitor center up to the top of Cadillac Mountain. There are entire areas of the park that are entirely ignored.

In spite of these shortcomings, we are still glad we bought it. It just could have been so much more. Wish GyPSy had it’s own version…

Very nice addition to our drive through the park

We loved the content of the tour. We didn’t love that because we drive slow, the recordings would loop and repeat automatically. It would be better for it to play once with option to repeat manually. This seems to be opposite of some who drive too fast. Also would have liked more of the flute music between points of interest. They say they are working on this. We really enjoyed it.

Great resource!

We loved AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide. Definitely download before you go and you’ll have no problems. Way cheaper and safer during Covid times than taking a group tour. Very informative.

Don’t miss this great narration!

I’ve never written a review for an app before, but I almost didn’t buy this because of the lack of reviews, so here you go. AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide worked perfectly despite not having service for many parts of the journey. I loved that it started automatically based on our location and told many great stories about the area and original (foreign) settlers you couldn’t find elsewhere. It was a perfect guide for my family trip driving around Acadia park loop. So fun, definitely worth $7.99.

Great tour

We took the paid self guided tour to Acadia and it worked beautifully. I highly recommend it

Superb tour through park

Worked wonderfully!! I have done all sorts of “self-guided” trips before but the BIG difference here is the quality of the stories told. Fun blend of history, legends, facts, and interesting tales. LOVED it. The tour was a wonderful addition to the beautiful sights of the park!!

Excellent

Easy to use and I enjoyed the narration. Good info and entertaining. Would recommend

Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the tour. Worked well while driving thru the park. Fun facts and background scores added a good touch.
We will surely use ATG at other locations and will recommend to others.

Loved it !

Very informative and entertaining tour with fun filled facts. Excellent narration along the whole route with interesting stories. Arcadia is a stunning park with breathtaking views and ATG ensured we didn’t miss a single stop. Thank you ATG for making our trip memorable - will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Great! Worked perfectly in airplane mode

I needed to reserve battery life and I didn’t have internet connection, so I was a little skeptical about AcadiaNationalParkGPSGuide guide, but it worked perfectly. Just remember to download everything in the morning when you still have internet.

Loved the history - very surprised to learn about the Rockefeller's here!

Added a whole new dimension to our tour

It is a nice concept. Think of it as a the tour guide became digital. It showed the path on the Google map like screen, it showed all the important points and it told us very engaging stories. Also, we did it at our own pace. Stopped in the middle and did picnic lunch. It was also easy to use because of gps triggering.

Acadia self guided tour - AMAZING!!

This was easy to use and very entertaining while also informative. This will be my go-to now for every road trip.
