I bought 5 paint samples based off of ColorPortfolio and they were all much much darker than what’s show in the palettes. Wasted money and time.

App itself is plagued with really bad UX and interface/interactions. Additionally it’s unstable and buggy with ColorPortfolio crashing every other time you use it.

I purchased 6 paint samples from the Benjamin Moore paper swatches. All the colors on ColorPortfolio are completely inaccurate. They do not resemble at all the colors on the Benjamin Moore swatches nor do they match the actual paint itself. All paint colors are entirely different on ColorPortfolio .

I can’t believe that Benjamin Moore, the creator of terrific paint presents such a crappy app. It is nearly impossible to use, completely counterintuitive, glitches galore and there are no directions for using the Photo Visualizer. The “Help” section of ColorPortfolio only helps if you are looking to color match, and since I didn’t use that function, I can’t even tell if it even helps use that function. I wasted 2 hours trying to visualize colors on a photo and I walk away with NOTHING but frustration.

ColorPortfolio is impossible to navigate and there are absolutely no tutorials. I keep trying to select an area to color and nothing works. If this is the way they have an app, I can expect their actual product to be horrible.

You really have to wonder if the people designing these apps have any idea of what designer needs are? Literally a waste of time as if it was just put up here because some BM executive demanded that “we should have an app too just like all those young kids”

When using the feature where you take a photo of your space and color the photo using a BM color - the colors in the photos are NOTHING like the swatches. Others have pointed out the same issue. I tried multiple rooms, during multiple times of day, in various lightings. The colors are totally off. This defeats the entire purpose of ColorPortfolio.

I also wanted to rearrange the colors in my favorites to see how they look **next yo each other**. But nope, no can do.

So basically if you want to explore colors, skip ColorPortfolio , go to the store, and buy some swatches. Buying these online was also hugely frustrating as the cart kept emptying. Just huge thumbs down all around.

Just tried this ap and am sorry to say I agree that it is a lost opportunity. I tried the photo visualizer with poor results. I come from an education and background in Interior Architecture. I can tell the color I chose is not correctly shown in the photo visualizer of the room. Sorry but my review is…meh.

I like the idea of ColorPortfolio but everything that is vital needs to labeled it easy to find ... which it is not. Two hearts??? I guess when I spend more than the 10 minutes I have I might figure it out but ease of use is not there.

I downloaded ColorPortfolio to test out some paint colors in very specific places in my home, in which I have already used only BM paints. But the colors are totally inaccurate in ColorPortfolio ! We tried testing out silver half dollar against the actual silver half dollar paint we used in our hallway, and the color on ColorPortfolio is like 10 shades lighter, making it impossible to get an accurate picture of the new color we wanted to test out on our entry bench paneling. I’m still giving this two stars because the idea is cool, but in practice it’s borderline useless.

This could be so good… but it has all these extra bells and whistles that add zero value and make ColorPortfolio *harder* to use.

I don’t need a fancy digital Rolodex of samples… it was hard to use, kept moving when I didn’t want it. Just give me a screen with a grid of colors and an easy way to filter color families + complimentary color pairings with a way to replicate them on a test picture. That’s literally all I wanted.

The color capture function gives very off matches. I used BMs own pictures of color and ColorPortfolio could not give the right match. Would like to have more info on color…what is RBG for each color? It goes one way, if you want more info on a similar color, you lose you history.

This is a wonderful idea to help people when they are selecting paint colors - the only reason it got 2 stars and not 1. I really wished it worked well. It will show you color some color differences, but don’t expect to see any minor or subtle color differences. We are going back to the paint samples on the wall app.

ColorPortfolio is helpful to review all of the BM colors, and even presents them in a traditional fan deck. However, I wish it did more. It would be great if it showed coordinating colors or similar colors of each hue. It would also be nice if you could select the paint color and it became larger on the screen.

I took a picture of a shed in our backyard that we are painting. ColorPortfolio seems great but doesn’t fill in the colors on the walls of the shed, so it’s kind of useless. Take photo, select color, click magic wand, click surface, and nothing…

Am I missing something? Why is there no zoom feature so that I can accurately paint all the detailed areas. I’m trying to do an exterior on a mobile phone and it looks like a child scribbled all over it.

At least the color seems to be accurate.

A competitor’s app has the zoom feature to get a good “paint job” but all the colors appear as tints.

What I need is to have is the ability to see the correct color and zoom to properly apply it.

Great idea for an app. I love being able to save colors. It would be very helpful to have a separate button to allow one to toggle back and forth between favorites and other parts of ColorPortfolio . Currently the heart button doesn’t always take you to favs and you must click a few times. It is also way to easy to inadvertently remove a color. It is gone in an instant if you hit that button inadvertently. Then it is impossible to tell what was removed. Very frustrating. Also the ability to sort those favs would be nice. I agree with the another reviewer that fan deck is squirrelly. You can’t always tell where the color is that you are looking at and it moves around. Does need a lock and a zoom. Thank you — you are on the right track.

When you fan the pages it is difficult to select a color as the pages will move inadvertently, very frustrating. BM needs to add a lock feature to hold the swatch in place or make it less sensitive. The selected swatch color needs to fill the screen more. It would also be nice if one can create color combinations (I.e. body color, trim color, door color) so we can mix and match against each other.
Some colors in the paper swatches do not show in search (for example: Williamsburg Wythe Blue)

For what it’s tasked with doing, this is a powerful and amazingly useful app to help visualize different paint colors within a room. It’s not perfect, but still highly recommended.

I just discovered ColorPortfolio while watching a home improvement video on You Tube so I decided to try it out for my home and so far I’m impressed and loving it!! ❤️❤️❤️

You can zoom out to see the whole room and so you end up with half painted images

Not worth my loss of privacy. If you are ok with being tracked by google anal-itics in exchange for visualizing paint colors, you might like it.
