I love coloring apps, and I’ll start off by saying that PaintColor uses colors that are a lot more lively and vibrant than others of its kind. I love it! That being said, it’s definitely got its shortcomings.
The paintings, for one thing, are very limited; I understand limiting some content to subscription status because you need to incentivize subscribing, but it feels like every other painting or theme (every theme, actually) needs you to pay.
If you don’t have to pay, then you have to watch an ad. That’s expected because they need to make their profits somehow, but the sheer numbers of ads is ridiculous. There’s a lightbulb icon that feels like it’s constantly flying around the top of the screen, and if you touch it either by accident or in an effort to get rid of it, you’re forced to watch an ad: ads that are, in my experience, the full 30 seconds and unskippable. You don’t even get a hint for watching it; you need to view 5 of these ads before you get any reward.
PaintColor also interrupts you every few minutes in coloring mode to “give your eyes a rest.” In other words, they stop you and make you watch, you guessed it, another ad. It really breaks the immersion, and it’s honestly annoying. I was less stressed before I started coloring than after.

Long story short, if you don’t plan on paying to get rid of the ads or subscribing to one of their plans, PaintColor isn’t worth the download. Keep looking.

Beautiful pictures and colors but some MAJOR CONS. It’s one of those apps that seems to think that if they annoy you enough then you’ll subscribe. I swear even pictures that don’t have a little camera require you to watch a 30 second ad with an additional 10 seconds or MORE to let you decide if you want to click on it. Not fun or relaxing to have to waste up to a full minute for even a simple picture without any embellishments. Then as you’re coloring a little icon will float around in the middle of the page reminding you that you can get 2 hints by watching yet ANOTHER ad! If I wanted more hints, I know where to click, there is no need for that icon to float around covering the picture-again annoying and not relaxing. Then there’s the thing where you can see all the REALLY cool pictures exclusively for subscribers. It’s meant to show you how great the subscription but is it too much to ask that only subscribers can see them? It’s bait to lure you in but the thing is, a lot of people simply can’t afford it. Having it rubbed in your face that you can’t color certain pictures because you don’t have that kind of disposable income doesn’t really make it a fun app to come back to frequently. So while it’s incredibly beautiful, it can get annoying if you’re unable to subscribe

Edit. —- I really like the recent changes you’ve made (the hovering tips ad button is a lot less annoying and I appreciate that you’ve reduced the overall amount of paid only pictures), however the “rest your eyes” ads are far too frequent. I’d rather they were gone completely, but at the VERY least they should not happen every three minutes. The level of frustration is making me not want to use your app at all.

I was really enjoying PaintColor until a few recent updates resulted in being inundated with advertisements. I was totally fine with watching them to unlock pics, the occasional after completion ad and watching ads for free clues, but now they interrupt coloring (multiple times per pic session! Only I decide when I’d like to rest my eyes thank you very much). Plus they just added a monthly up charge for access to a large amount of the pic, which is their prerogative I guess, but the lack of that was an attractive bonus in comparison to other coloring apps. Now it feels like they are flooding us with ads to “encourage” paying the monthly fee which in addition to bonus pic access turns the annoying ads off.

I am very upset with PaintColor right now! I have been waiting to write my evaluation, as I really wanted to see what PaintColor was like and how future updates would effect things. I was in love with PaintColor until the subscription page showed up. Before there were very beautiful and intricate pictures to color. I’m usually up when the new picture get added and get excited at all the cool things to color. Example the Egyptian pic, Chinese pics, mandala pic, maidens, and the zodiac group just to name a few. Now you have to subscribe to get the new pics that I like to color. The only pictures that are left are ones that would be labeled for a kids section. Why did you take away all the nice pictures. I’m disabled and on a fixed income, I can’t afford your subscription. I guess I’m going to have to delete PaintColor and spend my time back in another app. Such a shame I really loved your program 😔 Kay Jay Farmer

I think that this game is fun and super hard and mind involving. It is awesome because the game has awesome pictures and colors so a round of applause 👏🏻 for that. But the problem is that you could be searching for a tiny piece for hours and not find it but when you finally can get it it is the middle of the night. Sure there are hints but I don’t want to watch videos all day to get one picture done. This game is also boring because sometimes you can look and look and look and look and look just to find a picture you like and once you find one it is super hard and you spend all night. I can also get very confused with what color i am on and then I look for the wrong color and once I find it it is the wrong color and then I forget where it is once I am on that color l have to search for that tiny piece all over again. I want to say that I do enjoy your app. I do enjoy coloring pictures to unlock other new pictures. Very addicting.... LOL! The colors are AMAZING! Sometimes the ads can be a bit much but I understand if I don’t subscribe to your app that’s the consequence. The problem I have been having lately is a video ad thats been popping up is always getting stuck uploading. The video never plays and I have to shut down PaintColor and restart it again in order to start coloring. But every time I reopen PaintColor the same video keeps popping up over and over and over. I’ve had to shut down PaintColor 20 times before I can continue coloring because of this one ad that keeps popping up and stays in the uploading stage. It’s starting to become very, very annoying and it’s going to stop me from using your app that I enjoy. Hoping you can fix this problem. Thanks

I have loved PaintColor since I found it. Normally I’d give it 5 stars because I love the colors, but something is going on with PaintColor today. I noticed a few little changes, one of which was a 30 second ad that would automatically pop up every so many minutes.

I can’t believe I did this, but I actually went ahead and paid the $4.99 to remove the ads, hoping it would solve the problem. It did stop the unwanted ads from popping up, but there’s still a very annoying lightbulb floating around the screen. They want you to accidentally touch the floating light bulb so you’ll have to watch an ad.

But the main issue is that this floating lightbulb thing is causing the coloring and moving around of the picture to be VERY glitchy and slow!! Please take this floating thing off and fix the glitch! Thanks!

Hi! So I’m a casual user of your Paint Color app and I recently had to switch from my iPhone 6 to an iPhone 7 due to water damage.

PaintColor worked perfectly fine on my 6, but when I tried to colour something today on my 7, it broke.

What happens is the menu will load to the usual home page, but when I click on an image to colour it, I sit through an ad, and then when it loads, it shows the colour bar with all the different colour options, the hint options and the back arrow in the top left corner, but the image didn’t load! In fact, where the image should be, I can still see the main home page where I selected the image from. I can still scroll on it and everything. The only difference is that the next 6 images, including the one I clicked on, are showing a white background rather than the image; and if I scroll and try to click on any of the other images on the glitched home page, they will also turn white.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling PaintColor , as well as soft resetting my phone, but nothing worked. Not sure if this is an update issue or not, but I hope it gets fixed soon! I want to colour the Egyptian themes!

Please help! I would really like to colour on your app again!

I have tried a lot of the painting applications and have found this one astounding. It has the usual, highlighting to find the spaces
to color, and moving to the next color automatically. But from there on it excels. The colors are more vibrant. They are a combination of highlighting, shading, and textures that make the picture come alive.
The only drawbacks are: 1. That to make it easier, if you cannot find the color and decide to move to the next, it does not remove the ones you did, so you have a long line between and have to scroll a long way to complete it. It would be much better if as you complete a color to have it moved to the back of the list so you don’t have the long empty spaces.
2. The other drawback is extremely annoying. At the very beginning when you start the puzzle, it zooms in, forcing you to zoom back out to work on the whole puzzle. If I feel the need to zoom in, I can do it all by myself. Instead I am forced to zoom out every time.

It’s an amazing app to have fun coloring with!! I enjoy it very much, but there it one thing that really annoys me. So there’s this bubble that comes across the screen when you get done with a number saying, “Watch a ad and get 2 hints!”. Well when ever I click on it, it says, “No ads, please try again later.”. Well then when it comes by again I click on it and it says the same exact thing. I feel like stabbing a knife into my iPod or deleting the game. So please fix it (by, when you press it there actually is a ad not just a ripoff) or get rid of it. It’s annoying and dumb how you say that this will happen if you do this but then when you do that thing you don’t get what the person promised you. So please fix it or get rid of it. That’s all I ask if you can’t fix it, but tried then thank you for trying.

Your game has brought joy to me while I’m coloring, but... TOO MANY PICTURES R LOCKED! This issue has made me upset,😢 because it makes me not to be able to color your beautiful pictures! There is also another reason I gave U 4 stars instead of five, there is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to many ads. This is annoying to me because every time I finish a picture ,( when it plays the video of U coloring it) it makes me watch a thirty-second ad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please please please fix this, your game is so fun! (That is why I gave it four stars ⭐️) So, I need u to fix this so I can add another star ⭐️ to the great 👍🏿 game U made. You need to fix this, because I want to add that extra star.

PS you put in your ad everything was free! + no ads!

Pros: The pictures you color in this game are gorgeous. Not necessarily the picture itself, but the colors it uses. On certain pictures the colors will texture like it’s velvet. Others texture like it’s markers or paint. This is the only coloring app I’ve seen that does this, and I’ve been playing paint by number games for years at this point.

Cons: Even though you can get rid of the ads by buying it, this doesn’t unlock premium pictures. You still need the subscription. There is a section of pictures you can straight out buy, but I’m not sure they’re included.

All this being said, it isn’t a deal breaker for me, and PaintColor is still worth it to give a chance, if only to check out the texture coloring.

I’m an avid user of coloring apps. I love Color Therapy and Pigment apps but I SO appreciate PaintColor because often times I just want to Color By Number and take a break from regular coloring. Your colors are absolutely stunning! I have never seen a color by number app with such depth in your color spectrum:) Most color by numbers apps have very flat and boring colors, yours are absolutely gorgeous! The red shades are juicy, succulent, deep and rich, the orange shades are like brilliant fiery sunsets, the violet and blue shades are rich and velvety like royalty and best of all, your colors all have built in gradients that give your final piece dimension and that Wow Factor, the colors literally pop from the page! I am so impressed! Amazing job developers! 10 Star Rating! They also have a wonderful and generous selection of free pieces to color for those that aren’t in a position to subscribe as a VIP Member.

I love PaintColor. Best pictures of any number coloring app I’ve downloaded. Love the way the colors are blended with other colors and not just one color.
I would give this review a 5 but I purchased the in app purchase to remove the ads and was all working great until I did an update today. Now all my ads are back and it’s asking me to purchase it again and for more than what I’d paid the first time. I see others have had the same problem. And no developer has bothered to respond on the reviews or fix the problem.
Thank you for fixing PaintColor . I have changed my review to five stars. Now that I’m not getting all the ads I am so loving PaintColor. I play it more than any of my other color apps. Great picture beautiful colors and an actual app that the pictures are really free

PaintColor has some of the best images and colors and textures of any coloring app available. I have one suggestion though. Could you please provide a HELP or How To section to explain some of the features.

For instance, under the Achievements tab, there are various ways of earning reward images. But these achievements don’t have any explanations. There seems to be two categories related to flowers, but no explanation about which images are in which achievement category. Likewise, how does one find images that fall under the “Tool Master” (reminder items) category?
