It barely changes your hair color & does not show even remotely accurate colors-unless you want to see the crayon color colors in your hair. I have blonde hair & wanted to see a darker color but all it did was show pale/ashy colors. I thought maybe it was because I was using the free version so I purchased the full app but it didn’t change anything. The colors weren’t even closely reflective-I even clicked on the blackest of blacks and it hardly changed the color. Very disappointed I even spent the $2!

There were barely any options for the free app, which it might have been worth trying out paying for premium. I doubt it’s as great as some have said with premium though because the few free colors were SO inaccurate. It was cool seeing it just on my hair but with me having blonde hair I selected black and it was BARELY a shade darker than my blonde! (I didn’t truly want to see how I’d look with black but when I tried the browns I was interested in and saw the lack of difference I figured I’d go drastic and check the black.)

To be honest I didn’t think it wold work just guessing from the reviews but obviously it doesn’t look as good as it shows in the pictures. Your not going to fool someone by telling them you dyed your hair but to see what color works for your it is really cool. The only problem is you have to pay for most of the colors, but other than that it is really cool

It’s extremely laggy and when you click the screen it takes the picture. I can’t adjust the lighting so the pictures come out terrible. I suggest changing that. I also suggest that you should make as many colors premium. Let’s get real, how many people are actually going to pay money to see their hair a different color. It’s not even a good representation of what it’ll look like. I think you should add highlights, that would be a cool feature.

This is a great app and I would recommend it to you! I do have a couple complaints though. 1) when you tap the screen to take a picture, it is extremely laggy and takes a few seconds to show you your picture. 2) sometimes the colors only show up on parts of your hair, and it makes it difficult to see what you would actually look like with that hair color. 3) the blacks don’t really show up that well, and I have blonde hair, so it should show up pretty well. Overall, HairColor is great and I use it all the time because it is so realistic! 😁

Cool app. I would even pay the $2 for the extra colors if more red options were available. I downloaded to try to decide if I should make a big change and become a redhead, but no options to see that ( unless you want Kool-Aide red-“oh yeah!” Oh NO...)
Has blondes, Browns, black, and “unicorn” colors ( colors that are fun to try on but you wouldn’t/ shouldn’t wear professionally). Overall cool concept but not perfect.

HairColor is just wow! It automatically detects your hair and you can try different colors with a click of a button. Doesn’t really work if you want to go from dark to blonde or if you just want highlights or ombré. But overall I think it was worth the 1.99 to try the premium colors. I’m pleased with HairColor and look forward to future updates.

This update has its pros and cons. I like how they removed the manual feature because in some photos it actually looks better but I also agree with the last comment that at times it is annoying. This is especially a problem when my ears are in the picture and they get covered. Almost perfect....

I was looking for a hair color app to goof around with when I came across this one. I was super hesitant to download it because it had such a low review and bad ratings. But then i figured why not, I can always delete it. I’m actually really impressed with HairColor. I have no idea what those other reviewers are talking about. First of all, I didn’t even have to draw out my hairline like in other apps. It just automatically knew what was my hair and what wasn’t. Second, you can see yourself in real time, moving around. It’s not just one random picture from one angle. Third, I didn’t find it to be laggy. Like, at all. And even if it was a little laggy, i would have expected it. It’s changing your this app in real time... that takes a bit of thinking. Fourth, it took literally no time for the colors to load. The second I clicked on them, my hair changes. Fifth, it comes with tons of free colors. Sure some of the colors are locked, but considering they aren’t spamming you with ads, they have to make their money somehow. I even bought the premium just to check it out because it’s $1.99 and that’s not really a whole lot. I dunno, I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt like i needed to offset some of the negativity.

I have tried a whole bunch of hair apps. This is the only one that I truly like. It’s not one of those ones where you have to manually color, you just pick a color and the whole thing pops on for you! You can move your head and find the perfect pose. I will say that there is a couple things that I’m eh about. First of all if you only want tips or highlights this is not HairColor for you, it does all of your hair. Another thing is that it is laggy. I see this in all the reviews, “HairColor is super laggy when I pick a color it takes forever to load.” I personally don’t think it’s that laggy but who knows they may not have the best connection where they’re at. I think that it is not a terrible lag.
Overall I think HairColor is amazing and does a good job.

All the other hair color changing apps just let you "paint" a color onto a still photo, so you of course end up coloring your face and the scene behind you as well. This is true live hair detection with instant color changing. I am baffled that this has such a low rating, it's like magic. Two dollars is nothing compared to what those other apps will try to squeeze out of you.

This Ap is so easy to use and really shows what various hair colors / shades would look like on me. It’s live so it’s even better! Even my husband was amazed! It’s worth the $2.99 to get the premium colors. I played around with various shades and lighting to get the best overall true color. It really helped me make up my mind by seeing exactly what I’d look like if I decided to go gray! Big step, this helped.

The technology behind this is mind blowing, photos before and after looks real, and only sometimes new shade coloring not only hair but a little bit face to, but not often thought. HairColor is great! Thanks developers for implementing NV AI to this incredible app. NVIDIA really pushing their technologies forward. 10 out of 10 even if I don’t like in app purchases.

I’ve tried a lot of apps to find something that looked realistic, and this is the first! I’ve been contemplating dying my hair for a while, but I didn’t know how it would look because every app just looked like painting over my picture. I’m super impressed by HairColor!

I fooled many friends with HairColor and I can not believe how realistic it works. Yea it’s a bit laggy but if you got a phone that takes decent pictures, you can really make this look real and pull it off
