Option to turn tick tock off PLEASE!

Well this would be an awesome alert. But I can’t sleep with that tick tock noise next to me. So I turn the volume down so I can’t hear it and then the alarm is too soft to hear. I need it as I need my APAP at night to breathe and thought this would alert me to power disruptions. I’ve tried everything to ignore the tick tick noise to go to sleep and I just can’t ignore it! The tick tick also was an issue in the hospital when charging. I had it on for the theft protection. BUT The tick tock even annoyed my roommate! Soooooo…… I really feel bad that I paid .99 for this. It wasn’t worth it, as it’s not really useable for me. I thought paying would give me more options to have different alarms or to TURN THAT ANNOYING TICK TOCK OFF!!!! Nope no options… I’d rate it zero stars if I could!

Useless App not as advertised

I lost my power during a thunderstorm. I wanted an app that would shaw me a map out power outage areas and possibly updates as to when power would be restored. I saw maps and charts on advertisement but no on actual app.

I don’t see the purpose of PowerFailureOutageAlarm as is. I didn’t need an alarm to sound when power goes off. I’m alerted automatically when Lights, AC, TV and all powered devices stop working. I also do not need to be notified by email of obvious power outage. I especially don’t need an app to turn on my phone’s flashlight.

Not worth the purchase price or the additional “Upgrade to Pro” price which I believed would show me maps and charts. I already deleted useless app.

Disturbing sound when app is monitoring

I thought this was the perfect app to monitor my power during this freeze weather that we’re having right now. If the power goes out it will wake me up in the middle of the night and I can start my generator up to keep my furnace going so my pipes don’t freeze up. Unfortunately when you activate PowerFailureOutageAlarm you get a disturbing sound through the ear speaker. I don’t care for that sound. If they can fix that issue it would be perfect.

Email notifications work great when phone is on cellular connection

In my particular use case, my phone is on WiFi — not cellular — and the WiFi router’s power fails simultaneously with the phone’s charging source. In this situation, PowerFailureOutageAlarm does not seem send an email notification about the outage probably because it has encountered some sort of error condition when trying to connect to the email server and simply abandons the notification. Hope this helps.

Promising!

The UI is really pleasant and PowerFailureOutageAlarm has basically everything you’d expect. I only thought of a simple yet very useful addition, could you please add an option for playing an alarm when the power comes back on?
I’m in Ukraine right now, and personally I don’t have much use for an alarm for when power is off, however if I had an option for a “Power is back on!” alarm, I feel like I could get much more work done, since my sleep schedule kind of merged with the planned power outages that we have right now.
When the power cones back on, I have a million tasks to do (from laundry to cooking and work on my computer), so that kind of alarm would be a lifesaver. Thank you for reading!

Thank you!

Hi ! I would like to thank you for this wonderful tool that I use to supplement my other survival devices. I live alone and I am an LVAD patient. I had to purchase a generator to supply me with power in case mine goes out . I have to be hooked to electricity 24/7 in one way or another. This alarm gives me comfort and I am able to sleep a little better knowing it will wake me up in case my power goes off . For me that’s a life or death situation. Thank you for this and I hope to be able too use more of its functions in the near future. God bless you all !

Thank Goodness!!

I own a small adult family home and CANNOT be without power! I have a gas generator but need to know when power is out so I can start it up. PowerFailureOutageAlarm saves me all the worry of not knowing if the power is out or not! So happy with PowerFailureOutageAlarm!! I won’t lose another nights sleep due to checking power!

A must have

If you live in a hurricane prone area, PowerFailureOutageAlarm will let you get some sleep at least till the power goes out!

Extraneous Noise

LOVE PowerFailureOutageAlarm but don’t need to hear it ticking like a loud clock while it’s monitoring! Discovered when you pay the one time only .99, that you have an option of turning that sound off… nice!

Worked like a charm.

I got PowerFailureOutageAlarm when power was out and I was runnning on a generator. It alerted me in the middle of the night when the propane ran out. Very simple app. Does what it promises. Worked like a charm. I was glad to pay $0.99 for something that served me so well. May 2024

Great App Idea!

PowerFailureOutageAlarm is brilliant! Two years ago, my power went out in the middle of the night, which meant no sump pump, and I awoke to a flooded basement. If only I had PowerFailureOutageAlarm, I could’ve saved thousands of dollars in clean up costs. This is one of those rare apps that are very useful, but you hope you never have to use. Great work!

Great app with some small recommendations

1. I love this service is a very fair one time payment.
2. PowerFailureOutageAlarm allows you to use commonly used devices you already own to monitor power outages.
3. I love the simplicity of PowerFailureOutageAlarm .

We are expecting power outages from storms soon and I want PowerFailureOutageAlarm to give me a heads up when a outage occurs while i am sleeping. This would allow me to go start the generator and get heat going in the house as opposed to waiting a couple hours and waking up to a very cold house.

Great idea and is app seems perfect for the task.

I wish there were some additional features.
1. Adding multiple email addresses or phone numbers for txt messaging that way multiple people could be alerted.

1.1 If it included location of the phone or electrical device, and time stamp power off. And notify when power is reconnected and time stamp power on, this would be great as well. The ultimate hope is to monitor power outages. Wether I am asleep or way from the property.

2. Being able to add additional alert tones would be a great option.

So far, that’s all I can think of. :)

Seems to work exactly as described!

I’ve only used it twice so far and I’m going to set it up again tonight. I tested it multiple times and it worked. It’s simple to use and will let you know if you power goes out while you are charging and while you sleep. Definitely a little peace of mind during storms.

Perfect

Overall, it does its job extremely well and the lifetime premium is definitely worth it. I definitely would recommend to people with frequent power outages.

One thing though: there should be an option to change the alarm sound effect. Why? Because I believe the current alarm sound is too aggressive.

Annoying notifications

I’m always getting a notification saying iOS doesn’t let third party apps work in the background. Not sure if this is a glitch or if it’s even working so I don’t feel safe that it’s even on deleted and you can keep the 99 cents I spent to upgrade it . What a waste don’t buy it .

Update: I thought I would give update after it was pointed out to me that because I had the auto torch activated was the reason I was receiving annoying notifications about third party apps. Thank you to the developers for pointing this out.

Good.

I really like PowerFailureOutageAlarm, and I use it a lot during bad storms, and I just simply have to plug my device in to the charger, and if I don’t have lights on or other things like a tv, I will know if the power goes out, and if I didn’t have PowerFailureOutageAlarm I would not know that the power went out If I didn’t have any lights or anything on. I would definitely recommend getting this.

Peace of mind

In a heavy rain our basement stays dry only when our sump pump is working. When power goes out we have a battery backup pump that should activate. However, one time the backup system failed and our basement flooded. If necessary we have a generator. However I need to be aware that power has gone out, which might not be the case if it happens overnight while I’m sleeping. Knowing this product will alert me so I can check the pumps and basement lets me sleep without stressing.

Great App

I’ve used PowerFailureOutageAlarm during several times very cold temperatures, when the possibility of power loss is great. If the power goes out during the night I need to know so I can take action of draining the pumps for our pool. One small question. Recently PowerFailureOutageAlarm shows a message by displaying the number 1. I see a restore purchases button and it has removed the notification. Now the number 1 just stays on the screen. I don’t see a way to contact the developer. Over all a great app. Thanks.

Works well! Thank you!

PowerFailureOutageAlarm was very helpful to us through intermittent power outages during the unprecedented storms that came through Texas over the last week. It was a time of great uncertainty, the power on and off frequently, and PowerFailureOutageAlarm really helped us to keep our home safeAnd our pipes from freezing. We are very grateful. One suggestion: if you could offer a few different alarm sounds, that might be nice. The one alarm sound reminds me of an emergency sound from Star Trek! It was very effective in waking me up, I have to say. Thanks again.

Just what I needed

We had some chicken eggs in the incubator and needed to move them to a backup power source if we lost power at night
