Awesome Golf Simulator Reviews

Updating my old review. I think I have now had AwesomeGolfSimulator for close to two years and the promise of logged shot data before I bought AwesomeGolfSimulator has still not been delivered. I feel like I was scammed. The following is my original review -
I am happy with the simulation software but I am extremely disappointed with their customer service. When I bought the software many months ago I was told by their customer service that storing of previous sessions data was coming soon. If that wasn’t the case I would never have paid the high price for this software. How is one supposed to keep track of progress? It’s time for awesome golf to step up and solve this issue. I wouldn’t buy AwesomeGolfSimulator until this is implemented. Just my recommendation.

I purchased a lifetime subscription with the intent of using AwesomeGolfSimulator with my r10 and recently purchased MLM2pro, since AwesomeGolfSimulator supports both devices. Awesome, right?
But what they don’t tell you is that you can only use one device because of “licensing”, and if you want to use both devices, you have to purchase a second license. Considering the cost of a lifetime subscription, this is cost prohibitive and an extremely consumer unfriendly business practice.
What does it matter how many devices I want to use with AwesomeGolfSimulator , as long as I am only using one device at a time? Imagine Netflix charging you per device used, and you’ll understand the ridiculousness.
Of course, it also took 3 weeks to get this information since customer service is virtually nonexistent.
Avoid AwesomeGolfSimulator like the plague.

I bought a Bushnell Launch Pro to use with this software. So far these first 8 months I have had to email support every month due to AwesomeGolfSimulator saying I dont have a Subscription. I’ll use it one day it works, the next it says I need a sub. No amount of restarting, restoring, or updating fixes this issue. I then email George at Awesome Golf. He emails a few days later saying he fixed it then it works that next time I use it. Then I go back two days later and I’m stuck writing him another email to fix it. Beyond terrible at this point. All other softwares connect with my BLP no Problem. GSPRO, E6, FSX Pro connect flawless. I’m tired of emailing George and honestly, he is probably tired of hearing from me about his broken product.

AwesomeGolfSimulator is decent but key aspects are frustrating.
First you must have internet access for AwesomeGolfSimulator to work. This presented a problem using it with my Garmin R10, iPad and a BenQ projector wirelessly. The iPad does not have cellular so no WiFi assist and it’s WiFi is tied to the projector so no internet access. I had to hard wire the iPad to the projector which I was trying to avoid but that got it all working.

You can’t do anything in AwesomeGolfSimulator unless it’s connected to a launch monitor and the subscription portion is horrible. I paid $299 for their lifetime access and AwesomeGolfSimulator has locked me out saying my trial has ended and there’s nothing in AwesomeGolfSimulator that enables subscription help. The support page on their website takes you nowhere with no information and the developer doesn’t respond to emails.

I use a lot of apps for sports, fitness and health and this is by far the worst and most frustrating. It’s really unfortunate because AwesomeGolfSimulator , for its intended purpose is decent but probably not worth $300.

It seems like this is a data rich range toy, not a serious tool for golfers. First of all you can’t even log into AwesomeGolfSimulator without connecting your your Garmin or Flightscope launch monitor. So if I want to look at my results after my session to see how I did I can’t. For a $349 license fee, I expect to access my data and track progress. Can’t do that here. This looks like it’s trying to basically compete with TopTracer so that you can use it at a range. So seeing your shot data there with your buds or by yourself, it’s fine – just don’t expect to take anything home with you. Visually rich and compelling but not well or fully designed.

I have the MLM2PRO and I love what AwesomeGolfSimulator has to offer but in its current state with my launch monitor I can’t play a single round without a disconnect and losing my current progress in the match. For a 200$ price tag a year for the subscription i was expecting a more less frustrating experience. I really hope there are updates coming soon to work these connection issues out. I keep my phone and launch monitor right next to each other there should be any connection issues. Seriously considering fighting for a refund but when it’s working I love it and it’s way better then the rapsodo app.

I like AwesomeGolfSimulator a lot. My biggest gripe with it though is that I can’t seem to download my shot data from the range or replay shot trajectories after I’ve hit them. Downloading data (or saving them to my online account) would be a game changer. While they do store some of your shot data in their “community” app, there isn’t any shot data by club or averages across the data that Mevo plus captures. Kinda disappointed in that. Will probably stop me from purchasing the full version.

I love everything about the in-app play, visuals, data, etc. However, as others have mentioned, AwesomeGolfSimulator doesn’t seem to store any data from previous sessions and you don’t seem to be able to export the data from a session…so how am I supposed to track my progress from one session to the next?

If AwesomeGolfSimulator can store the shot by shot data and display it in tabular form within AwesomeGolfSimulator (it can), then why not add a simple export to .csv function that can send the tabular data in an email? If not for the lack of this feature, it’s a 5-star app for sure.

After struggling with the E6 Connect app, we decided to look for alternatives and came across this baby. Our device doesn’t have mobile data, so for now we’re only able to play offline, but at least we’re playing! Will update our review in a month. So far we’re quite pleased, even though my first drive landed behind a tree. Must be accurate!

I love the simplicity of this simulator app. I’m a hardcore Garmin R10 user and used my 2 week trial last year while I was mainly using a 1 year sub to E6. I chose to go with Awesome Golf for 2023 but I’m a bit disappointed nothing has really changed within AwesomeGolfSimulator . I love the target range but it could use a facelift and I’d love to see 1 or 2 more courses. Beyond that, I really do enjoy using Awesome Golf!

Overall, AwesomeGolfSimulator is very good. Has a lot of great features. The range view with data provides all the information and views in one place. The two courses that come with it are very fun to play. I really love the club gapping feature. Only wish is that app and associated data would be available without being connected to the Mevo+.

I've been using Awesome Golf on my Garmin R10 since 2022. I play at least 3x per week. After all this time the courses were starting to feel very monotonous - this update added 2 new very different and challenging courses. The best part is that they are 18 hole courses! Before the other four courses were limited to 9 holes. Thank you awesome golf team!

More than enough for a garage sim setup. I run on an iPad mini with a usb C to hdmi connector to my projector. Garmin r10 as monitor. Easy setup and accurate data. Well worth the money. Still wondering how one can review data post session. Seems to be a gripe from others. I see the community app but that does not have all data. The range coaching session and range detail shot by shot is awesome!

Devs, please add elevation adjustment.

This is a truly great app, yes, the graphics are not state of the Art but I have learned that those graphics actually have a trade-off, and that is performance and efficiency. For the price, this truly cannot be beat. Yes it is expensive and I purchased one of the lifetime license, and I truly believe it’s been a great investment. Golf is an expensive sport, and depends a lot on the weather. I use awesome golf with my Garmin R1 and I don’t even purchase the expensive RCT balls, I just use a little piece of aluminum tape and it has been extremely accurate. I’ve even taken it to the range to compare and it’s pretty mind-boggling how it can do all those calculations so well. Yes this is expensive, right until you compare it all the others. If you truly love golf and plan on using this, the lifetime license is an amazing deal.

I purchased Awesome Golf when I got my Garmin R10 3 years ago. It is perfect for the R10 and runs really well. When they added three real 18 hole courses, it made Awesome Golf even better. I've never had an issue connecting with either my iPad nor computer using the Awesome Golf Assistant nor it picking up my ball. I can't say the same for E6 Connect which is why I canceled my subscription.

I would highly recommend this software for your launch monitor if it's compatible. I am on it a minimum of 3-4 times a week.

One last thing, the folks at Awesome Golf are very responsive when you send them a suggestion and actually reply!

If you decide to buy it and you can afford it, get the lifetime subscription. It's already paid for itself in three years!

I recently purchased a Mevo+ (which comes bundled with five included courses on the IOS version of E6 Connect.) I thought that was all I would need to get the most out of my Mevo+. I was wrong.

The problem is that the game play and graphics on the IOS version of E6 Connect are terrible. Even on the latest generation iPad Pro, it was terrible!

That’s when I discovered the Awesome Golf Suite. Awesome Golf game play and graphics are straightforward and clean. The interface is easy and intuitive. The driving ranges and “coaching mode” combines all the stats you need to improve your game in an easy-to-understand package which makes practice a joy.

Awesome Golf also includes several “Challenges” and “Shootout” mini-games which are addictive and fun to play against friends and the world at large. (Awesome golf keeps track of your stats and displays your best scores against the rest of the world on an International Leader Board.)

Finally, the suite includes two 9 hole golf courses. The physics engine and game play on these courses is great. Even my wife enjoys playing them (and she’s a tough critic). My only complaint is that I wish there were a few more courses to play.

All in all, Awesome Golf is a home run! It is well worth the money and my “go to” app for playing on my Mevo+.

This software runs remarkably smooth on my 8 year old iPad pro. I’ve never ran into any technical issues. There are so many different games, activities and practice/training modes. They have fun kid friendly games that my daughter loves to play, blowing up buildings like angry birds and chipping into shark infested pools. They have games I’ll set up for parties where any skill level can have fun. The feedback is always consistent.

I understand this is a small company that is growing, but the only thing I wish it had was online private play vs friends - even for a higher fee! Thank you!

The accuracy, coaching module, and ability to send CSV file with my club stats is everything I need. Accuracy is better than Garmin app, especially home tee hero. Coaching app does a nice job of showing swing path and club face position at impact. The .csv file is just icing on top. I like to review after playing to see what I have improved on, if anything is slipping and it opens the door to many questions that make me a better golfer. IMHO. Now that it has a monthly fee option instead of being forced to pay a large chunk at once makes this is a must try.

This looks amazing. I am currently gspro user but want to get this for practice especially. My question which is extremely important to me as it is useless to me if awesome golf goes off total and not carry for club distances gapping, skills challenge, and target golf. Closest to the pin I can see total being fine but all should have carry distance or total distance as a choice. So, does anyone know if those 3 things go off carry and not total? Gspro went off total on their club gapping which is useless to me. Gspro has the option of using carry or total on their skills challenge though at least. Any good golfer is only using carry

I love Awesome Golf with all the shootouts. The range is great and so much better than e6 or fs golf. The virtual golf is great and me and my friends enjoy all the different types of play. My only knock is that it’s only a four player game and at times there’s more than four of us. It would be great if they could up the number of players to six or even eight.
