Overall a good concept- however, after about 2 weeks of use I’ve noticed a rather annoying bug. Obedience doesn’t track points properly, at all. With multiple habits, each with a 1-point reward, I’ve counted 24 completed tasks displayed on the “habits” page. However, in the rewards page, it only shows 8 points. Rather frustrating, as the whole point of Obedience is to track and reward habits... not very useful if the tracking doesn’t work and the point/reward system is useless because of it.

I'm another one who agrees that the default
permissions for the submissive should all be
enabled.

Healthy D/s dynamics come from a
place of equality, consent, and enthusiasm. A
sub downloading Obedience for the first time
does not automatically consent to have their
permissions taken away from them. That is
always, always something to be discussed
with their Dom beforehand. It's insulting and
presumptive to assume that every sub
wouldn't be allowed to have a say in changes
to tasks, ideas, and ESPECIALLY limits.

That is a HUGE red flag.
Both parties ALWAYS have an equal voice on limits.

The argument that it’s the default because most Doms don’t have permissions enabled for their subs could just as likely mean that one or both parties don’t realize those permissions can be enabled in the first place.

The sub isn’t notified upon anywhere in the tutorial that they have even had any permissions blocked off from them, which can EASILY lead to abuse in the dynamic, and power unknowingly held over them that they did not agree to.

A sub handing over the reins to their Dom and trusting them to take care of them is something personal and consensual. It shouldn’t be immediately assumed that subs be denied their voice and have control ripped from them from the get-go without any discussions about it at all.

I downloaded Obedience two months ago and used to get a notification when a message came through from the Dom. Now I don’t get ANY notifications - for messages and for a new task that he writes. But yet he gets them when I send a message.

In my opinion, the submissive should also receive a notification when they get a message and/or a task. Can you please update this so everyone can get the notifications? This would be a very helpful update. I will then give a higher Star rating :-)

The system doesn’t tabulate points properly. Things aren’t always added up correctly. And as a sub who is working towards a goal that is VERY demotivating. Also, it can cause anger/frustration towards a Dominant- and that is a bigger problem. So, the points need addressed. Also, the system auto ticks a habit to be pre-set to some of you have done the habit consistently within Obedience . Also not cool. Part of the task is SAYING you have done the task- Obedience takes that away from you......

The idea for Obedience is spot on and I really enjoy it, however I think the layout and design could be improved. Setting up rewards and punishments is a bit clunky and confusing, but I love the ability to invite partners and keep detailed notes.

Another enhancement I recommend is adding photos to be send through chat, along with the ability to save them if the Dom allows it.

Overall, works well and I hope this stays a well supported app

It works fairly well but you don’t know what day of the week it’s on and what day of the week which habits were and weren’t completed. Sometimes it’s buggy and doesn’t let you do your habits for that day it’ll still have the previous day. Sometimes it doesn’t communicate well with the two phones (i.e. when the sub puts they’ve completed a habit sometimes the dom doesn’t see it or vice versa with any category.) i’ve had other issues and ideas to make it better but i’m blanking as i right this.

my dom & i started using Obedience in november. originally we both loved it but it’s recently become buggy. sometimes instead of starting over on the new day for my habits, it just keeps going. and even though every day i have logged that i’ve done my tasks, it just keeps counting for whatever day it got stuck on, and when it eventually unsticks and is in the actual current day, it says i’ve not logged for the days it was stuck. because of this i can’t get out of the negative (i got myself in the negative on my own- but now i can’t get out, as not all of the habits i log are actually counted). it’s been stuck on the same day for one of the habits for about 3 or 4 days now, and the rest for 2
i love the concept & so does he. and we won’t be deleting Obedience . just hopeful that the next update fixes this incredibly annoying bug

I decided to try this with one of my dynamics since she lives in a whole other continent. It’s been great thus far. It’s a big buggy with the notification of unread messages (despite reading the message while Obedience is open). I have to close Obedience and reload it and scroll down to get the notification off.

The point system is great so far. I’ve not had any other bugs so far. I’ll update later if necessary. The chat aspect could use some work on IOS also. It would be great if we had the option to send gifs and audio. We would have preferred to have everything in Obedience but we will be using Gdrive for videos, gifs and audio rewards etc.

Also, it would be amazing if there were more options for color schemes. I would pay for a black and grey theme. Other than that it does the basics!

My partner and I are really enjoying Obedience. Allows us to keep our D/s info and text threads out of every day texts as well as track to be sure she does her habits or gets punished if not. Only issue so far is that with the purchased version the icon still says “this app” under it and not “Habits” when set to discreet on an iPhone.

Would you please consider adding the ability to save pictures sent in Obedience to photos on the phone?

Just downloaded Obedience . It’s a fun way to track, reward and discipline habits. My sub likes the “sticker chart” way Obedience works and enjoys the ability to “earn” rewards.

*Is there a way to password protect Obedience (similar to Photo Vault app) or will it be added in the future? Maybe a pro feature???

*It would also be helpful to have a starting point on the economy of the point system to get you started.

Now my bank statement says “this app App”. I can’t have that be listed so obviously. Too late this year (about to be on my knees with my sub hoping it doesn’t effect things) but next year I can’t take the risk of it showing up again.

Great work and thank you for the time you put into it. I’m really hoping this can be changed so we can continue using Obedience next year. My sub is already doing so much better in her healthy daily habits, thank you for helping me help her.

We have used Obedience for more than a year now. This could be a great app with a little tweaking. The reward points would be nice if there was a set total for reaching a specified number then points awarded for each that goes above and beyond. Like 3 points for completing 7 but you get one point for each one done after that. We still use Obedience daily and it has been a great organizational and reminder tool for the s-type. She has really enjoyed being able to track her tasks and habits.

This is a great app for anyone in a serious D/s dynamic. My DD and I use it to manage my daily habits, rewards, and punishments. However, as the most popular BDSM app, there are some features that would really make this app even more outstanding.

1. Calendar - this would allow us to see a calendar view of our upcoming/past due dates and deadlines for habits. As a little, I’d LOVE to see something like a sticker appear when a certain percentage (set by Dom) of tasks are completed for that day.

2. Journal - Many d-types require their subs to journal regularly. While these can be posted in the private messages, a dedicated journal space (with ability to add photos, links, tags) would really help Obedience become even more comprehensive and useful.

Other things that could be cool - random punishment/reward feature, food/water log, private photo albums etc.

Honestly I love Obedience . My Dom and I use it. And it’s been pivotal in our relationship because it makes me feel like I’m getting recognition and helps him feel like he’s got a little more control which is perfect. The only thing that’s preventing a five star review is a very very annoying glitch where I will check off that I have done tasks but for some reason it’ll say that I had already checked them off so it’ll say I did them two out of one times or however many times but then I’ll still get an empty circle for the day for the task. I will also lose points on this task that I had previously earned for completing it. Can you please please fix this bug because it’s a little annoying especially since we have the full version.

Obedience is incredible! I used to spend so much time writing out relationships contracts but this just books that whole process down to a very nice framework for building habits, rules, and limits in a collaborative fashion! And the fact that I can take habits and punishments from one partner to another is incredible! I love the cross polination of ideas!
Huge fan of Obedience and tell everyone to use it and pay the extremely reason subscription cost.

the past reviews bugs all work correctly for me, seems they fixed them. May I suggest a feature? Would it be possible for the rewards to give points right after you complete a task instead of waiting for the time limit to go by? Also the sub is able to select more habits occurrences than written (ie: if there is 0/2 the sub can do 3/2 can you fix it so they can’t select more than 1 in this case?).

I thought this was a terrific app from the moment that my BDSM partner signed me in. She was able to assign tasks and habits and has been able to work with me directly through Obedience for over three months. It has been terrific and been very helpful.

Because I wanted to put my tasks and habits and categories I purchased the premium. But I cannot get the discrete icon to work. On my iPhone that icon changed to a checkmark, great. But on my iPad the icon is still a collar. It is the only fault I have found in the program. I don’t really know how to get it fixed.

Edit: Wonderful and quick response from the developer detailing things I didn’t know that were missing from the tutorial! Absolutely 5/5 now! (Still agree with the other person about the ability to add pics, but that would just top off an already perfect app!)

So far I love the Premium version, however there seems to be no tech support if you have questions? For example, the premium version says you can organize habits and such into categories, and yet there is no button or pick list for this? And nothing in the tutorial about it. The website is also pretty useless for anything other than explaining Obedience …

this is perfect. my Dom and i are long distance, and we’ve been trying to figure out good ways to keep the dynamic thriving while not being able to physically be together. this is everything we could have hoped for and may even continue to use once we’re finally living together!

i saw a review that seemed pretty salty so i’d like to add a reminder: not every Dom is a Master, not every sub is a service sub. some of us are littles, and brats, and Obedience is an EXCELLENT way to keep us and those like us in line. i personally respond very well to clearly outlined expectations and rewards. i also have fun adding my own rewards (silly things, like kisses that cost 0 points.) everyone’s dynamic is different and valid, we all belong whether we simply live to please our Doms or don’t. please remember that.

My partner and I use Obedience and absolutely love it! We both pay for the premium and we feel that the cost is very reasonable and well worth it. Obedience has helped us keep our dynamic on track and helped us become more consistent with keeping up with chores, punishments, and rewards. I struggle heavily with depression and knowing that I can earn rewards and that I will be punished a certain way if a habit isn’t completed has helped me work through it and keep our house in good order because it’s increased our consistency in our lifestyle. I highly recommend Obedience to anyone in a BDSM, DD, or other lifestyles. The only thing I would change is being able to choose from more themes but that’s a minor thing.

I do my tasks every single day and yet when I go to log them, the points I should have is way off. I was at 28 points one day and 16 points the next. I lose points every single day for a tasks I do every single day. How can I can a point and lose a point and lose a point for the same tasks each day Can someone please resolve this issue?

Every time I try adding a habit wether it’s me or my dominant Obedience crashes. I have downloaded and reloaded it to no avail. Ive seen in on other review same problem. I can accurately use Obedience properly if I can’t use the habit aspect of it. I would appreciate it if it could be fixed soon.

I’ve tired sending invite to my Dom, it keeps saying there is an error. The same thing happens when he sends me an invite. I was excited about Obedience. But it’s pointless if we can’t even link Obedience

We just downloaded Obedience today and after only a few hours Obedience on my sub’s phone won’t stop crashing. Obedience only works if Obedience works on both phones

Can’t set time to the right time zone because you can’t read the second half of the time zone. So I have to set the reminder just so I can tell what time it is on Obedience .

I downloaded Obedience , did a basic setup and then invited my Dom to use it so we could finalize everything. Being able to use this for our 24/7 dom/sub relationship is intriguing. However, when I hit the tab to invite my dom/hubby it sent him a log in for google play. We are both on iphones so why wouldn’t Obedience link for the apple app store.

Obedience has some serious issues that prevent me from being able to reliably use it, mostly being unable to add a second dominant without removing the first. If this was remedied it would easily be a 5 star app

Great app, desperately needs a way to edit rewards and punishments within the habit. Its extremely painful to have to delete a habit just to change the punishment.

So my doms and I downloaded Obedience yesterday. So far we are enjoying it, but when I linked to my second Dom it took my first off the list. They can both still add/control my habits/rewards/punishments, but it only lets me connect to one of them. Is the ability to have more than one Dominant listed in the works? That’s my only complaint so far.

Most of the comments and reviews on here are outdated, I read the complaints on other reviews and everything stated has been fixed and new features have been added. Very good app for a solo dev and me and my sub are having a lot of fun in our initial impressions, this deserves to blow up and get more funding!

It took a little bit to figure out how to set up (need to put the reward/punishment in first THEN add habits). But I love everything else!
