Between the fact that it essentially only captures half of your shots via the watch (driver always worked, with mixed success on irons, and essentially missed every shot I took under 100 yards) and the fact that you end up feeling like you’re spending half your round interacting with your phone instead of enjoying the game, I can’t justify the monthly fee to use this. I found it to be more frustrating than anything, and altering mistakes made detecting shots/adding in shots that it missed was too cumbersome and frustrating when all I wanted to do was move on to my next shot.

I was looking for a golf app that would integrate with my Apple Watch and iPhone. I had high hopes for Roundabout. However, if you don’t remember to record your club on every shot it becomes extremely difficult to accurately register shots after the fact. I would definitely not recommend and will not renew my subscription.
Follow up: the company promptly responded to my review and offered to help. I asked for, and was quickly given a refund. Thank you V1 for standing behind your product!

This used to be a great app. The tracking information was so helpful especially strokes gained. Now it’s horrible. They tried to improve it but just made it more frustrating and buggy. I understand that upgraded software takes tome to smooth out. However, It’s not a cheap app so when you pay for a subscription you expect things to be sorted in a reasonable time. The most frustrating big is that now Roundabout doesn’t cue you right away to enter your club selection. Also, why do I have to enter my score twice when I move to the next hole. Too many clicks to not be distracting now. Horrible upgrade.

I have been using Roundabout for over a year, and love literally everything about it…

But on my most recent round it is suddenly “Watch Error — Watch Message Failed” after every hole. I don’t have an Apple Watch, and have never used one… but it keeps popping up. Even when I try to save the round and exit, I get the same error message and it forwards me to the next hole (or back to #1).

I have tried to find something in settings to turn the watch off, but there doesn’t seem to be anything. And I have tweaked every watch setting to see if it helps and nothing fixes it.

Please fix V1! I use it 3x a week and REALLY don’t want to have to move to a different app!

I actually like Roundabout a lot. I didn’t utilize all the features it had to offer. One thing that I didn’t like is the fact that my watch distance and my phone distance were both always off by about 15yds. The phone was more accurate then the watch. In order for me to get the real distance, I had to open my phone and check it because the watch was never correct. PS. I kept my phone in my back pocket just like the tutorial recommended. Please fix this issue and a will give it a better rating.

I love the option of doing all my “tracking” at home the evening after a round. I just let Roundabout track my GPS breadcrumbs without having to mess with the phone during the round.

The included stat breakdowns are useful but I hope they keep adding further options and filters.

Biggest wish list item are to share with other people a full round (ie all the shots displayed on the satellite image view) as to be able to generate PDF reports of the statistics for printing.

I’ve used several different golf apps over the past many years and V1 Game is the best I’ve found so far. Accurate, easy-to-consume yardage information to guide shot selection? Check. Simple, efficient and comprehensive shot tracking data capture, including an Apple Watch app? Check. An amazing range of advanced stats, including strokes gained calculations, to help you understand your game and plot its improvement? Check. For me, it’s the stats set Roundabout apart from the others I’ve tried....they are impressive and will only get more so the more rounds you capture. Also, for someone like me who plays the vast majority of my golf on one course, I like the ability to visually display the history of my shots on each hole. And, I like the ability to easily share information with my swing coach. It’s a very new app, so I look forward to seeing how V1 Sports takes it forward.

Bought V1 Birdie a couple weeks ago. Easy to use and extremely accurate. Apple Watch integration for auto shot detection is awesome. V1 provides the data I need to make precise improvements to my game. Highly recommend it.

I’ve used several apps and devices to track my distances and rounds over the years. I used to love Game Golf until the battery died in the belt device and I learned you couldn’t change it out. Terrible design, basically a $200 throw away device. I decided to give V1 a try and couldn’t be happier. No more RFID buttons screwed into my grips and no more manual tagging my shots! I love Roundabout!

I use the Apple Watch feature and I t’s accurate, easy to use once you figure out how to mark all your penalty and recovery shots, and the stats I get really help me focus on things I need to do to improve my rounds.

My last few rounds I have shaved a few strokes off and my handicap has gone down. I believe it has a lot to do with using the stats acquired from the V1 app and it how it has me rethinking working my way around the course. Well done V1!

If you want to improve your golf game you need Roundabout. Tells you how your game stacks up to different handicaps and Stats will tell you what to work on.
Love the Apple Watch feature and autoshot recording so I can keep my phone in my pocket.
Records everything so lots of future potential ways to help your game.

I haven't dove into the stats yet, but I am using it heavily as a golf gps. I also bought the auto shot detection. I love seeing the little blue line for where I went on the golf course and the shot predictions are spot on. Super easy to track my rounds and have a history of everything i did. Looking into the stats piece next.

i looked at lots of apps to track data. this is hands down the easiest, least intrusive, most complete data tracking app out there. The customer service is over the moon good.

The on course distances are accurate and make visualizing the shot you need to hit much easier than my Bushnell or Garmin.

I love Roundabout. The last three days though it is kicks me off within seconds after it says requesting receipts. I have reached out to customer service but have not heard back. Hopefully it can be fixed soon

Update: Customer Service fixed my problem quickly and I am back online. Great app overall. Thanks Dallas!!

Tried a few different golf gps and shot tracking apps. This is by far the easiest and most simple to use. Auto shot detection works well, but I usually track the shots as I go since I won’t remember what club I used if I add it later. No need to input fairway misses, sand or green. Roundabout recognizes where you hit and tracks all the data for you. It’s not the cheapest app around but has multiple options depending on what price point you’re comfortable with.

While you may find a few very minor glitches in Roundabout, there is nothing that is a show stopper. The support is the best I’ve ever encountered, bar none. If you do find a glitch I’ll bet it is fixed within a few days. That has been my experience.

Beyond that the potential for Roundabout is tremendous. I’ve barely scratched the surface and I’m guessing Roundabout will continue to be refined with new features. The Auto Shot Detection alone is worth a subscription. Well worth taking for a test drive...

Extremely detailed and on the verge of addictive. Almost too much information but you can narrow down what you want to focus on and expand your exploration as you go. One thing that stunned me was that it apparently ties into weather info while you’re playing and will show you the wind speed and direction in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Not sure if that’s legal in some tournaments but I found that to be brilliant. Yardages displayed are extremely accurate and easy to manipulate.
One of the best thought out and engineered apps I’ve ever had.

Pros: GPS is accurate, and can log shot by shot. Like similar apps.
Cons: Once your round is done, you sign your card, and you exit using Roundabout . Roundabout continues to run on your Apple Watch, tracking your gps location and draining your battery. Closing Roundabout does not work, you literally have to delete Roundabout on your phone to keep it from running, after every round. Update: The developer has fixed the issue. After the round when you Save and Exit it will now stop running on the Apple Watch. I’ve played on a few different courses, the gps is accurate, the data is trustworthy. Recommend hole by hole entry.

Anybody that wants to improve their game needs Roundabout. It’s incredibly user friendly. You don’t have to enter shots during the round so it doesn’t distract you from your play. Turn it on and don’t touch it until after the round is over. It uses GPS to track shots and has a quick putt feature to easily capture scores. Finalizing shots after the round takes a couple of minutes, max.

Data analytics are great. You can see where you’re gaining/losing strokes to players of a similar handicap, club distances, dispersion patterns, and scoring “potential” using the 4 keys to golf. Take this information to the range to make yourself a better player.

Roundabout is wonderful and much better then other tracking apps out there. This ones allows you to auto track your shots so during a tournament you can still have your stats- Amazing! I like the aspect that you can customize your bag so your stats are more accurate. It’s nice even when your just playing for fun with friends because it allows you to get a yardage to a bunker or water just by tapping on it! It’s amazing how just an app can help improve your golf game. The stats feedback is unbelievable and super in depth especially if what your plugging in is as accurate as can be. I have not used the apple watch version yet, but it doesn’t run your phone battery down hardly at all unlike other similar apps with is nice.

I just wanted a golf gps, but what I got is basically a virtual coach. The golf gps function is free, but once I saw the stats, wow! I’m learning all new things about my golf game. I like that I could set my goal to be a 10 handicap and then monitor my progress against that. I’ve already broken 80 once since using Roundabout . Hope to be able to come back and update my review with more results!

Took a round or two to get into the flow of tracking shots, but afterwards it’s seamless. Love the post round analysis and instant feedback. Quickly seeing what I need to work on based on that day. Definitely the best stats I’ve seen in a golf app.
