Robinhood User Looking for Something More

I am an avid Robinhood user who has just started to get more involved in the stock market over the past year. While I love the Robinhood UI and interface, I’ve been yearning for a tool that has more fundamental research tools so I can learn more about the actual goings-on at the companies I am investing in. I asked some friends in the finance industry for recommendations, and the tools they recommended were all far too expensive. Another friend who like me has been getting more involved in the stock market recommended I check out Atom. I’m glad he did, because I have been loving AtomFinance . AtomFinance provides all of the investment research tools you need to stay informed on the companies you are watching and investing in. I listened to my first ever earnings call thanks to Atom’s events feature, and have been learning more about how analyst estimates affect stocks with their analyst consensus tool.
My favorite feature is the ability to integrate my Robinhood brokerage account with the Atom App so I can track my portfolio and view performance analysis.
While it would be nice to see Atom add a chat feature over time so I can chat with friends, I am excited to see the new features that come out and would recommend any serious investor give AtomFinance a try.

💯 gives personal capital some competition

AtomFinance is turning out to be great! I love Personal Capital’s but it lacks real time reports. So I’m really excited to discover Atom. I would only add one small issue: it seems not really real time like other apps. Like 5-10 seconds lag or something. But that’s a minor one. Another is disorganized platform. I’m a bit disappointed that things appear out of place, with iOS app having to reduce text size too much in order to accommodate Atom’s text configuration. I think a new update should address that concern. Please also look into building a tab for different time periods for portfolio performance. I know there’s a 2 week period to check, why not 1 week, 1, 3, 6 and 12 months? Lastly, why doesn’t Atom categorize ETFs like Personal Capital does to break them into sectors and % of portfolio? All these being said, I recognize the product is new. So I’m patient and positive about future developments.

Thanks,
Atom user

Retired Hedge Funder Missing Bloomberg

I am a retired hedge funder and miss my Bloomberg Terminal – it is one of the most powerful tech tools I’ve ever used. In my retirement, I still love following stocks and the market, but struggled to find an affordable, high quality option. Luckily enough, I stumbled on an article about Atom Finance and decided to give AtomFinance a shot. While it still has some room for improvement to match the feature-set of Bloomberg, as a free app, Atom offers an incredible value proposition. It is a great way to stay informed on my portfolio and the market writ large while on the go. I love how accessible AtomFinance is and how it shows me important information on all the stocks I am tracking. The other day, it saved me from forgetting about an upcoming earnings call for one of my bigger positions. While there is definitely still some additional features they can add that would further improve my experience, I’m loving the product and would advise anyone passionate about stocks to give it a try.

Great Platform

Like Yahoo Finance, CNBC, MarketWatch combined... on steroids

I found this platform while they were still in alpha and wow have they come a long way. They have added an impressive amount of features in a short time and I have found less need to scan different news and financial sites because they curate everything and push notifications through the mobile app.

Highly recommend this to anyone looking for portfolio and watchlist tracking for news, transcripts, docs and updates. Their Market briefings (Pre-open, Mid-day and after-close) are top notch!

Their are a few other platforms that have popped-up recently and they all have their pros and cons but Atom’s is definitely the most polished and “user ready”.

would love to see them partner with a TradingView to upgrade their charting capabilities but that is not a deal breaker for me since I have TOS.

Their portfolio tracker is great if you have multiple accounts across different (or the the same) brokers. You can connect directly with the broker and I don’t have to play around to update something when I make a change in my portfolio.

(For those of you with TD Ameritrade, you know it’s been difficult to find a platform that can connect)

Overall great platform and app! Definitely try it out and you will see there is not another platform quite like it available on the market.

Great app but problematic on iPhone SE

I have an iPhone SE so it’s a bit of a smaller screen. It’s the shape and size of an iPhone 5s from back in the day. Most screens in AtomFinance scroll up and down but for some reason I am unable to scroll to the bottom of several, if not all of these pages. It’s very frustrating because I can see that there is more information just out of view. I’m sure I’m not missing out on much, and overall I love AtomFinance otherwise. I just thought you should know.

I end up bouncing between a handful of apps for market data but AtomFinance has almost everything I need to know in one stop. Maybe the other info I’m missing is at the bottom of the pages.

Grab this and MarketWatch and you’re basically good to go.

Lacks Grayscale investment integration

I want to love AtomFinance but at this point I simply can’t. I love the design, it’s functionality, and the plethora of information it displays. It is by far has the most detailed analysis of any portfolio tracker out there. And trust me, I have tried them all.

But there is one MAJOR feature lacking. It doesn’t track any Grayscale investments. This a problem for me. The only way to get crypto exposure in a Roth IRA is through trusts such GTBC or ETHE. I get not tracking crypto but Grayscale trusts are sold on the stock market not the crypto exchanges. I don’t understand why Atom tracks the prices for these investments correctly but doesn’t add any gains to my total portfolio. It skews my ROI dramatically. It’s very disappointing.

That said, I keep AtomFinance downloaded and check every few weeks to see if they have fixed this glaring problem…

Invaluable information but does not tally portfolio correctly

I find the information available through atom pro to be invaluable and worth the price. I have been simply unable to find anything like it elsewhere.

AtomFinance looks great, though the menu icons on the bottom ribbon are not very intuitive as to what submenu they lead to. I had to learn what the meant as it’s not obvious from their look, and I still sometimes forget what each leads to.

AtomFinance runs reasonably well considering what, I imagine, is a very long list of data sets to sort through, but on an iPhone 11 it still hangs up and crashes on a nearly daily basis.

But, most importantly by far, AtomFinance does not accurately track your holdings in Robinhood accounts, neither in tallying your portfolio nor in updating what you own and adjusting notifications accordingly. I will eventually cancel my subscription if this issue isn’t addressed, as it is obvious that the service isn’t complete until this issue is addressed.

So, it is a valuable service and AtomFinance has a largely great design. But it still doesn’t work very smoothly and portfolios are not updated correctly. Once the issues are fixed, easy 5 stars. Until then, 3/5.

Looks great, needs lots of work

Atom is amazing! The three stars is a reflection on the usability. Which feels glitchy. But overall AtomFinance is just incredible and certainly a step in the right direction. Now the bad.. Links don’t always work on desktop version which is browser based. Adding and removing lists isn’t as straight forward. There were symbols I wasn’t able to find. Add price/shares would be a nice option. I already tried the pro version with they’re very generous trial that not only includes one month FREE but then you get your first 3 months for .99. That’s FOUR months for $.99! The data they provide you is also incredibly detailed. The usability of the charts is GREAT!! But still a few updates away from ready for prime time as of 3/4/21

Amazing tool, could use a small fix

Not being paid for this, wish I was though. Its a really great research tool, very simple. If anyone has noticed on Robinhood the dividend yield is consistently inaccurate, not a problem with Atom.

Only complaint is that it seems my Robinhood portfolio never quite updates as it should. My portfolio is $200 more than what it is in Atom right now, and its been like that for two days. But the portfolio is a convenience feature anyways, I can always just jump back over to the Robinhood app. Still a great research tool.

Quality app with a few challenges.

AtomFinance has grown and developed quite a lot since beta. I do hope more of the web features make it to AtomFinance as has been the case. Performance has improved but still could use some more tweaking on AtomFinance . As some features seem to take a bit to load.

I was hoping the developer would allow early adopters / testers to opt into some kind or promotional in app price instead of the standard subscription now offered to everyone. A 30 day free trial isn’t really an incentive. I realize the developer has invested a lot into AtomFinance. And it shows. But I also think early adopters should probably get some kind of incentive to sign up for a subscription.

Great Service

I was skeptical at first, and I started the premium service yesterday with a promotion deal which provided three months premium for $0.99 then $9.99 for the next months. Today was my first day with premium and the service has already earned enough to pay for the first year. It notified me of breaking news: Apple had purchased a Roku remote button. This resulted in Roku skyrocketing and it allowed me to join the trade before it was over. I would recommend this to anyone who needs crucial information for the value and movements of stocks, as well as time sensitive news feeds.

Incredible.

Atom Finance breaks the barrier of entry for traders that can’t afford a Bloomberg terminal. Packed with analytics tools, news & event feeds, Atom is an absolute must have. Real time updates on your portfolio linked across all of your brokerage accounts takes the task of spreadsheeting diverse, spread out finances out of your day to day. AtomFinance is also very pretty, the UX team is on point.

My only want from the developers is an iPad friendly app. Using the web app / phone app works just fine, but I use my monitor real estate for trading windows and having an iPad native app would complete my work station setup.

Great job, Atom Finance Team. Maybe a brokerage of your own is in our future?

Must have for serious investors

The amount of data available on most retail platforms pales in comparison to Atom. I’ve been using their site for a few months and it has really stepped up my investing.

Understandably there are issues as AtomFinance is made by a tiny startup but they are offering an unparalleled data platform for the 21st Century retail investor. Normally you would have to pay significant fees for this kind of data.

Make sure to subscribe to the daily digests. If you value your time as much as I do, these are the best pre-market briefs available outside of dedicated research subscriptions and take less than 10 minutes to read.

Terribly Non-Intuitive

Just downloaded and spent 15 minutes with app. Have no idea how to change indexes I want to see. So slow, and in some cases absolutely no response to screen taps that I had to close out as it seemed locked up.
Why do these types of multi-function, or maybe multi-resource apps not provide easy to navigate help screens. Maybe AtomFinance is fairly informative but for me, getting to that information and following it going forward, as it would apply to the equities I am interested in was just not possible.
My take away is that anyone downloading this and expecting to use it would need to be very familiar with other similar platform operational functions. The short of this review- PROVIDE BETTER NAVIGATIONAL ASSISTANCE, ie HELP options.

Powerful App, Much Potential

I’ve been using Atom for around 4 months, and about a month ago got upgraded to Atom+ for free. I’m genuinely pleased with the amount of information AtomFinance provides, and the daily emails and personalized notifications are great!

A few tips:
- It doesn’t make much sense for you to have to rate a stock bullish, bearish, or neutral in order to follow it. Just have a follow button, and give the option to rate it. Not a huge deal though.
- The UI is really well-designed, but I have to agree with many other ratings in saying that the UX is a bit lacking. Tapping on things usually comes with a delay of a second or two. Just improving on the responsiveness would make it that much better.

Overall a great tool, and for a free app coming from a small startup, it fills a wide niche for the everyday investor who can’t afford higher-end tools.

Really awesome app but the lag is frustrating

Downloaded AtomFinance a couple days ago and it has a ton of great content and features. The only reason I’m not rating it 5 stars is that even with a perfect internet connection, basic UI stuff like scrolling and navigating pages has a significant lag. I’m using a 12 Pro so my device certainly isn’t outdated. I will still use AtomFinance ’s basic features once my free trial expires, but I would upgrade both my account and rating were the lag problems to be fixed.

Clean/Great Support/Up-to-Date Info

I have to say this is probably one of my favorite tools for researching stocks. At your finger tips you are able to find, research, and get up-to-date information on various stocks. Atom + allows you to get minute by minute news in bite size manner

I had a bug issue on AtomFinance , reported it, and was in continuous contact with Atom support. I appreciate the help and promptness in the midst of this epidemic.

Clean aesthetic appeal on the iphone and looks even better on computer. Setup is easy to ensure you save the stocks you are researching.

Needs Improvements

Am retired Wall Street portfolio manager of almost 55 years. Like a number of app features but have issues with (1) adding manual portfolio and (2) only being able to view app in portrait mode and not in landscape mode. Found it impossible to add manual portfolio. Was unwilling to use “Plaid” service to link to actual brokerage accounts. Spent great deal of time trying to add manual portfolio and got no real help from developer except for promises of improvements to come. Using app on smaller-sized i-phone is difficult and i-pad portrait only viewing not compatible with attached keyboard screen with which I cannot rotate screen to portrait mode.

I’m a fan!

Now I’m a read a 401K and stare at a screen contemplating volume kind of investor but atom makes it all so much easier and unlike Motley Fool or Seeking Alpha it links to my portfolio and shows P&L changes in an easier way. It also shows events or updates linked to changes in prices which is helpful for anyone who doesn’t sometimes have the time during the day to keep up with their portfolio. I love the clean and dark design and the calendar that lets me know important dates.

Glad there’s an app finally!

Great platform, great information. And love the daily emails. Long time user of the site and great fuel for AtomFinance ! I do wish AtomFinance had a light display option, as I personally feel as though it is too dark. Also does not properly show my crypto from Robinhood, shows it as $1 for each one I own instead of the correct fractional amount so my total portfolio is off by thousands of dollars. Other than that little glitch absolute pleasure, must have for investors!

A total game changer

After using Atom for a few days, I am convinced this is the best investing tool on the market BY FAR. As a long time investor, I’ve been waiting for something like this for years. All the information is in real-time, easily searchable, and well organized. Atom gives you the information that actually matters when evaluating companies like valuation metrics, analyst consensus estimates, and more. You can even read SEC filings and transcripts right on your phone. I linked my brokerage account and 401k, and I can see detailed analysis of my holdings and performance across all my accounts. Super useful! AtomFinance is also intuitive and well designed, which is something I can’t say about any other investing app I’ve found... and I’ve tried them all. The quality of the daily market commentary is excellent, and the custom notifications for news, events and price movements are very helpful. If you’re at all serious about investing and care about the quality of the information you get, you need to be on Atom Finance.

Finally, a good Yahoo! Finance Alternative

I am a long-time Yahoo! Finance user who has long sought a replacement as the site is increasingly buggy and laggy. Google Finance made me hopeful, but unfortunately they shut the project down. Enter, Atom. Atom’s app is exceptionally smooth, offers great information and research tools, and is a generally great way to track stocks both in your portfolio and in your watchlist. Additionally, the portfolio tool offers a great way to track your portfolio, and perform analytics on performance.

Additionally, Atom’s 3x a day briefing note is a great way to track the overall happenings in the market and monitor political and economic news that may affect your portfolio. It’s also great for finding stocks that are making big moves and may be worth doing further research on.

Atom’s calendar and events features are great for monitoring upcoming earnings calls and conferences which may impact stocks. I’ve also been finding their price alerts super useful for monitoring stocks in my watchlist.

While it would be great to see Atom add trading over time, and additional features over time, I understand the company is relatively new and they seem to be building features at an aggressive pace so I look forward to seeing what’s to come.

Google of Investing

For the longest time the only way I could find the filing, events, and news on the companies in my portfolio was to google them. It took lots of time and energy to find the information that I was looking for, but things have changed. Now, I can quickly find all of the company specific things I was googling with a couple of taps. This is truly revolutionary and has made me more confident in my personal investment strategy. Thank you Atom Finance! You guys have saved me so much time! :)

Missing chart technical information?

AtomFinance has a good feel and a lot of great information but I don’t see anywhere to access chart technicals. Does it have RSI info, moving averages, and other technical overlays? I’m not seeing this anywhere.

Can’t Say Enough Great Things

I’ve been an avid user of Atom Finance’s platform on the desktop since it’s inception. For months I waited with excitement for the release of AtomFinance , and I’ll be the first to say it delivered without disappointment. Atom offers abundant access to all information about financial markets, in a simple and aesthetically pleasing format. And all at no cost...this platform truly is a gem. Can’t wait to see what else they roll out in the future!

Beautiful and simple Finance app with just the right amount of info

Love both AtomFinance and the website, great job! Most other finance apps seem to try and do too much with the graphics. I love the layout of atom, makes it simple to find exactly what you need and the 3x daily briefings actually give you a useful understanding of the day’s top market moving events. Options/futures quotes would be a nice addition in the future!

Weak app & fake reviews

Firstly almost all the reviews so far are clearly fake. But most importantly AtomFinance is very weak. AtomFinance tries to look clean and modern, but is taken aback by its lack of data and bugs. There is constant delay when tapping between tabs or really tapping on anything. Most of the data tells your core metrics Like revenue or EBIT, but most of the main ratios are lacking. The charting is fine but there are better ones out there. It’s no where near a professional app, and really like a beta stage right now. It needs a lot of polishing and a change in direction of what data it is showing.

By

Free Bloomberg

I use Bloomberg at my job occasionally and while it is powerful, it is not user friendly. It’s ugly and you really have to know what you are doing for it to be beneficial. Atom lays everything out for you! It’s so simple and it gives you everything you need to value a company so accessibly. All your news, financials, and real-time data for any level trader is spoon fed. Seriously good-looking, well-designed app.

By

Best Stock Market App

I’ve used quite a few apps to monitor the stock market and I can definitely say that Atom is the best. The developers have managed to cram every possible point of data that you’d want while keeping AtomFinance from feeling overcrowded with information. To top this off the UI is very user friendly and visually attractive. Highly recommend

By

Amazing! Totally worth getting the app

Since using Atom for my investing needs and “just-to-see” website when it comes to stocks. I’ve been on the website during the Beta period and now that AtomFinance has been released, it’s fantastic! AtomFinance is very clean and sleek, making it look really professional. I love it! Nice work at the Atom team!

By

Incredibly useful

I work in finance and Atom covers so much of what I need everyday. It already replaces a bunch of tools I use on the web and now with AtomFinance I can use it wherever I am. Historical financials, analyst estimates, documents, it’s all there. A bunch of my coworkers started using this and I can see my entire company relying on it really soon.

By

lot of info and customization

Blown away with the amount of information you can find in AtomFinance . I‘m surprised every time lol. You can also personalize the experience which is my fav thing since most of the other competitors it feels like a cookie cutter experience. and def awesome it’s free👍🏻👍🏻
